Meaning that GEJ is our present and best so far (among the other crowd) to take us to our glorious future as a nation. |
Age old wisdom admonishes us never to be enslaved to the past, no matter how glorious or inglorious it might have been. We are also cautioned to be mindful of what we do in the present, as the present dictates the future. Way back in Aug 1985, IBB was "Nigeria's present". He had just taken control of a people who were adjusting to the hard disciplined life that they were coerced into by the then "immediate past", Buhari. Nigerians gave him (IBB) many chances when he was "their present" and he experimented with many ideas. By Aug 1993, when he ended being "our present", Nigerians had become more corrupt, more confused and more divided than ever before. He successfully purged us of any discipline Buhari/Idiagbon might have inculcated in us. Now in 2010, we have a GEJ who we see as in-experienced for being too plain, not cunny and expressing his opinion too fast on state issues. This can however not be held against him as it will be unfair to refuse to employ a qualified fresh graduate for lack of experience. It will only be fair for Nigerians to join hands with GEJ, our first Phd holder Executive President and a man whom destiny unfolded as "our present" to achieve our much desired "glorious future" No matter how glorious or inglorious IBB's time was, it is wisest to consign him to the past where he belong. We should allow GEJ, "our present" to take us to "our future" While IBB has repeatedly reminded us that Nigeria is not a united entity by emphasizing that we should only be happy when someone from our zone is in power during "our turn" for good or bad, GEJ has encouraged us to think as "one people" and forget the accident of our different places of birth. If indeed we are "one people" our concern should be for the best sets of President/Vice President and Governors/Dep. Gov before we apply Federal Character principle to select the best from all other parts of the union to fill the other posts. This surely is the path of wisdom. Any serious contender desirous of leading us from "our present" to "our future" should stop yelling that we should sacrifice merit in the name of zoning. We are in "our present" condition because we have always in "our past" jettisoned merit to make way for zoning. |
It's funny how Nigerians take people like Adamu Ciroma, IBB and co serious when they claim to be talking on behalf of the Northerners. Which North? They are certainly not representing the interest of the Northerners from Tafawa Balewa (Bauchi State), the Tivs (Benue), the Junkuns (Taraba), the Biroms (Plateau), the Kanuris (Bornu), the Okuns (Kogi), the Yorubas (Kwara), the Da kari kari and Gwaris ( Niger) and many more. People should stop worrying themselves whenever wasted people like Adamu Ciroma claim to be representing the North. They represent no one but their selfish selves! Through their devilish claims, they deliberately set the rest of the country against the Northerners who never benefited during their misrule. All they are interested in is to keep the Northerners perpetually under their rule without education and in abject poverty. Despite being so long in power, it is only in the North you find people so poor, they allow their children to roam the streets begging for left-over food at bukas. You find men so poor, their means of survival is just a tray of kola on their heads and men so poor, they gladly allow their female children to get married at tender ages just to avoid long time responsibility. One day! I say one day! Allah will free the Northerners from selfish leaders like Ciroma, IBB, Atiku et al. |
It's a pity Mr Raymond Dokpesi chose to go against the popular saying that "To dine with the devil, you need a very long spoon" He has wined and dined with the devil (evil genius) with their hands joined together and expectedly, led astray to join the league of terrorists who killed innocent Nigerians. It's so sad that a man whose creations (AIT & Raypower) has long been respected as a "peoples' platform" will descend so low as to accept to lead the campaign organization of a political burden like IBB. So sad indeed that even men of the tabloid, the 4th estate of the realm, whom we thought are friends of the masses are also falling! Oh! I weep for you Nigeria! When shall you be free from wicked people like IBB! |
This madness about PDP zoning arrangement is ludicrous to say the least. The question we should ask ourself is: What happens if after an 8 years tenure of a zoned PDP president, Nigerians decide to vote in the next election for another party's candidate that has so much appeal and qualifications even if he is from the same zone as the out-going PDP president? I mean GEJ's explanation looks more like the reasonable line for PDP to follow except of course, the party is sure (sic) they will always be successful in their rigging. Abeg, Nairalanders should be faithful in their prayers that we want the best for the country irrespective of zones, religion or tribe. What do we stand to gain if the "zoned president" from our zone ends up looting our treasury and mortgage our collective future and those of our unborn generations. NIGERIANS! BE WISE!!! |
It's funny this old fool in his usual maradonic style is trying to divert our attention about being blackmailed. Is there any evil that he is incapable of? Can someone please tell him that June 12 annulment was not the only evil he unleashed on Nigeria and Nigerians. Nay! That was only the last straw that broke the camel's back. The endless list of his evil machinations will continue to haunt him till his miserable death and Nigerians, for sure will have for celebration! |
