bonechamberlain:Why are you quarreling with the medium? Do you have any report that a Nigerian journalist asked him the same question earlier and he refused to answer? Without prompting, he directed his Minister to release the statement to Nigerians yesterday and he used the opportunity of being interviewed by BBC to back Lai Mohammed up for confirmation to the rest of the world. What the heck is wrong with that? |
ShowYourCertificate:I totally agree with you that Certificates are important but the love of our country is also important. When a PHD holder allow the kind of primitive looting that occurred under the last administration, one is certainly bound to be disappointed. Party politics aside, we all know that Buhari is not an illiterate and he seems to be passionate about reviving the economy. The least we can do as patriotic citizens is to wish him success for our own good. I am at pains that Goodluck, despite his level of education could allow the kind of bazaar presided òver by Dasuki and others. Now that Buhari has presented his budget, let's watch him closely till end of 2016 to make a fair assessment of his performance. If Nigerians could tolerate PDP for 16 years of lacklustre performance, 7 months is way too early to judge APC. I love Nigeria, my country. |
ShowYourCertificate:You have misplaced your priorities my friend. Of what use was Jonathan's certificates to Nigerians considering his level of naivety while in power. He even found it difficult to implement some good policies like TSA initiated by his government. It's a big shame that the primitive looting being exposed now occurred under the watch of a PHD holder. PDP members are supposed to bury their heads in shame. No rational person should have expected magic over the 7 months Buhari has been on the seat especially when there was no reasonable budget on ground to implement and there was so much rot in the system. For us, fair Nigerians, now that Buhari has presented his first budget, we'll patiently wait till the end of 2016 to assess his performance. I passionately love Nigeria my country. Those who want the best for our country will pray honestly for her progress. |
bigerboy200:Amen and Thank you. Those who are not happy with the success being recorded by the Nigerian Army are those abusing Lai Mohammed for wishing that the insurgency would end by the December 31st 2015. They are actually distorting his statement. He only said that the group has been sufficiently degraded which means they can not hold territories like they used to do. They can only attack innocent people in faraway places and run away like common criminals. In that situation, there would be no serious difference between Nigeria and countries like France and US where terrorists strike from time to time. |
Nnemuka:In Buhari we trust. What people like you do not realise is that even if Buhari decide to use the exact ministers that served under Jonathan, they would have no choice but to work in line standards being set by Buhari. The same goes with all those presently on the ministerial list. Any misbehaviours on anybody's part will attract commensurate reprimands. May God bless Nigeria. |
Hey guys, I have the correct workings now: the answer is 3. Here's how: 3+3*3-3+3 In maths, a bracket is introduced where you have the multiplication sign. So (3+3)*(3-3)+3 = 6*0+3 = 0+3 = 3 |
What's the op waiting for after 16 pages on NL. The answer is 18. See how: 3+3*3-3+3 In maths, a bracket is introduced where you have the multiplication sign. So (3+3)*3-3+3 = 6*3-3+3. Let's introduce another bracket to have: 6*(3-3+3) =6*3 = 18. |
drnoel: Really, but what are we talking about here. A nigerian governor took funds from his state to extensively invest in another country and everybody is still smiling and asking GEJ why he allowed the thief and boko haram sponsor to attend a security meeting. Are u nigerians well at allThat is the sad situation in my country my dear friend. To a sane mind, the explanation by the Government agents as posted by the OP is quite clear but the opposition would rather abuse the President on something that is clearly out of his control. They cannot claim they saw Modu Sheriff boarding the fight out of Nigeria with the President and have equally not told us how the President should have taken control in Chad by ordering the host President's friend to get lost. Surely, that would be against protocol. I'm just a concerned Nigeria, nobody should attack me! |
Reptyle: President Goodluck is probably just scared of been heckled by radical members of the House of Reps. That would be pretty embarrassing. You may be right my brother. It's most likely the President decided (wisely too) to avoid some die-hard opposition members who will stop at nothing to embarrass the high office of the President. Heckling will mean nothing to those who peddled rumours that he drank ogogoro in London. |
plaindealer: There's nothing wrong with the useless man celebrating his birthday and even getting drunk, in fact, he's free to poison, fry and corrode his liver with alcohol, but not when he's on taxpayers time, not when he's on official duty representing Nigeria, not to jeopardize his mission and embarrass Nigeria.Only God knows why he has allowed jungle creatures like you to live in our midst. Slave master.....Hizzzzzzz |
aurenflani: Who are these leaders? Fuccking corrupt leader. That's what your choice is!!!All I have said is that since Jonathan was declared winner of 2011 elections, it would have been in our interest to allow him to govern peacefully instead of all those hateful and inciting comments. Constructive criticisms would have been better instead of placing obstacles on his way. I cannot see what the populace stand to gain if every time someone wins an election, people from the opposition camp would encourage lawlessness and terrorism. At the end of the day, we are all losers as resources that would have gone into development would be used to suppress those criminal activities. |
Stop deceiving yourself! Did I not post you pictures of Oshiomhole's campaign with huge crowds? The truth is, when a leader is loved and cherished by His people, He is swarmed whenever He goes out and He walks freely amongst His people. But same cannot by said of GEJ. It is not because the people hate Him, but His guilty conscience will forever hunt him because He lied and deceived the people. Where are the promises He made in all of the 36 states of the federation during His campaign in 2011?
Your judgement of GEJ's regime is really unfair. It was very obvious he had good intentions and really planned to transform Nigeria but the leaders from the north made it very clear from onset that they will make the country ungovernable and frustrate him. It is obvious they meant every word of their threat as we have continued to witness insurgents and needless death as never before. They made sure tnere are enough distractions and deaths on a daily basis to ensure that Jonathan cannot concentrate on his programmes. The blood of the innocent men, women and children will haunt those wicked people till death comes to whisk them away. Another tactics that has been effectively utilized by the northerners is to withhold their cooperation with government in solving these problems. Obviously, even in small offices, the first thing a newly posted head ask for is cooperation. It is therfore very unfair to continue to judge Jonathan as incompetent. Whatever achievement recorded by our past northern leaders was due to cooperation received from the rest of the country. If we truly want to remain as one, it will only be fair to allow other sections of the country to rule peacefully whenever they emerge winners. |
duality: The way issues like this get to the media worries me. especially our kind of Nigeria media. there is a serious problem in Aso rock.My dear friend, the thing don tire me o! For sure, there are moles within the top echelon of govt. An issue like this that is still being discussed is already in the open. Sometimes, I wonder if Nigerians are really matured enough for the opportunity that the FOI bill has given us.Or, is it complete lack of Patrotism? |
“Surprisingly, the Nigerian government is talking about granting us amnesty. What wrong have we done? On the contrary, it is we that should grant you pardon,” he said, listing what he described as the state’s “atrocities” against Muslims. One cannot but marvel at the audacity of these group with the above statement. They are truly misguided. One of the basic teachings of Islam about RIGHT AND WRONG is that whoever is doing something right will never be afraid of people seeing him in the act but whoever is doing something wrong will never want people to see him doing it. If truly the sect believe that all their acts of killing and maiming of innocent people is right, why have they been hiding their faces and identities. They are fooling none but themselves. THEIR FOLLY WILL SOON CATCH UP WITH THEM. |
Gbawe: Forget it. The most intelligent politicians, like Tinubu, fully understand the aspect of politics that is about perception and image . It would be mentally damaging for the APC , after many sagacious characters have put sterling efforts into the merger from day one, to then go and court a serving PDP Politician as Presidential candidate. That won't happen because it defies logic and goes against what needs to be done to achieve a defeat of the PDP.I think you are getting it wrong sir. If APC members as a group can present the duo of Tambuwal/Fashola, it will be a deadly blow to PDP because many members of the ruling party will follow suit. |
floriana: What if the title is well deserved and the intended recipient while waiting to retire dies shortly before retirement. Does it mean he will have to go to the grave without taking along his due chieftaincy title?Guy, u just made me laugh out loud! So u really believe a man needs chieftainccy titles in his grave. |
victorD3: I had to cheat because that's where I develop the laying skills my gf really enjoys. Infact I just increased the cheating and she is very happy with our sex life now.Guy, you are baaaaaaad. You are too much. |
Pame: it's just unfortunate that i do cheat once in a while. why? DISTANCE! she is not usually with me here, we only see maybe once in two or three months....you know, BODY NO BE WOOD, u may be having strong feelings, a serious desire for sex and your woman is not readily available....you can't kill yourself but look for an alternative once in a while. i keep a steady gf asides frm my madam basically for that purpose once awhile..GOD BLESS YOU |

Rexxie: What are the chances of what and who? The earlier this northern phenomenom bla bla is dumped in the thrash can the better. Thats stone aged theory now. No more time for conservatism, its time for progressives...You are very correct about David Mark, my brother. The man is too cunning to be the president in a gullible society like ours. People seem not to realise that it is because someone in the mould of GEJ is in office that we get to hear actual stories as they happen. This is because Jonathan has not been able to drop his 'ordinary man' toga . He rightly or wrongly says exactly what is in his simple mind. With someone like David Mark, it will be a different ball game. I doubt if the famed Maradona IBB can stand him when it comes to meaning one thing and saying another. EVEN IF DAVID MARK DECIDES TO SELL NIGERIA, NOBODY WILL SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. He will receive our loud ovation with the money right in his pocket. HE IS TOO WISE FOR OUR SOCIETY! |
Daddi: This is a case I've been watching to see how it goes. For those castigating Otedola I dont see why you should do that. If not him we dont know farouk could be this corrupt to mess up a sensitive matter like this, after the so called 'integrity bullshit' n all that. Even if Otedola do shady deals with the government then let them bring evidence. But in this particular case he did what a good citizen should do.I agree with you totally. I'm really surprised that people are indirectly supporting Farouk on this matter. Before Otedola brought this matter to public domain, Farouk had for years deceived us all that he was clean. Nobody ever knew that he could be corrupt to this magnitude. So, being an elected representative, a well respected one at that, he is a great let down to his erstwhile fans. As for Otedola, as a business man surviving in a corrupt society like ours, he must have had to bribe many government officials in the past for his business to survive when he must have been convinced there was need to do so. The difference in this case was that he was convinced that there was no need to bribe and Farouk was arm twisting him to do so. So, he had no choice but to use his superior brains as a business man to do Farouk in. In my humble view therefore, it is Farouk that needs to be dealt with because Nigerians gave him their trust and he messed it up. Otedola as a business never asked for our trust. In business, it is SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST! |
This doesn't sound right at all. The present system whereby Boss'Assessment takes 20%, Technical knowledge takes 30%, Current Affairs /Civil Service knowledge takes 40% and Seniority takes 10% is much more reasonable. Like most people have observed here, the new system can easily be abused. |
Since our boys can't spell LIBERIA, the visitors added 1 goal for us! |
ehie: SHUT YOUR FILTH SPEWING HOLE THAT YOU LABEL A MOUTH,I WILL DO WHAT I WISH,ALL FALSEHOOD THAT TINUBU AND RUFAI SPEW IS MORE TRUTH THAN U WILL EVER KNOW,THIRDLY WHO CARES WHAT YOU THINK.After reading posts made so far by those for GEJ and those against, one cannot but agree that the Pro GEJ group are far ahead of those against in terms of civility, honesty and patrotism to our fatherland. How does it make people feel when they go all out to condemn the only country they can call theirs? Both FrankC and thelastpope have reeled out some major achievements under the present regime to which I expect people to give kudos to the govt. While it is true that those in govt have a major role to play, People should learn to love this country and contribute their own quota, no matter how little. If all you do is to paint your country in positive light to outsiders, it is indeed something praise-worthy.. |
mkmyers45: I dare anybody here to come to Damaturu or Potiskum and see how JTF are killing innocent people..God will punish them all..all of you running your mouths like dysentry will be singing a diffrent song if you relatively or friend will killed in cold-blood in your presence..my friend was shot several times in my presence for NOTHINGDon't be too sure dat ur friend was innocent. Have u asked urself why ur "innocent" friend was shot several times while not a single shot was fired at u. People are difficult to predict. I'm afraid ur friend may be engaged in BH without u knowing. If indeed he was innocent, may his soul rest in peace. Otherwise, he would rot in hell. |
My sister have recently been offered admission to study Pharmacy in Saratov State Medical University in Russia. Please, I implore Nairalanders who has information about this University or studying in Russia generally to help with useful information to make my sister's stay and study there comfortable. |
The greatest danger with Buhari emerging as president of Nigeria is that his followers are too fanatical. Is it not surprising that we are being classified as haters even when some of us say the obvious that Buhari is supposed to realise his position as a national figure especially when making comments that concerns the whole nation.it's not that we don't want him, but if his followers will continue in this fanatical way when he is president, it becomes practically impossible to criticize him publicly without being attacked. Buhari's followers should purge themselves of their seeming believe that he is like God who can never be wrong. |
Eziachi: One thing tribalism or sectional hate does to people is screwing their capacity to reason like humans, if not what is wrong speaking in your native tongue when 100% of your audience speak or understood the same language? A language so large and spoken in many African countries and has a channel in many foreign medias like the BBC, VOA etc.According to the retired General, he was speaking to delegates from Niger State. So, one would have expected him to realise that there are Nupes, Gwaris, Da karikaris and many other ethnic groups apart from Hausa from that state. The general language they all understand is English but he chose to address them in Hausa. He hould know better than that. Now, he claims to be misquoted.... Come to think of it, does it not occur to Buhari that even if the whole Niger State is Hausa, the rest of Nigerians needs to know what was happening. Or, was it voodoo? |
Much as I strongly believe having Buhari named as Nigeria's president would scare most of the corrupt hawks ravaging the the country to their teeth, The man needs to see the whole of the country as his constituency. Why does he always choose to address his followers in hausa. Is it that he doesn't want non-hausa speaking journalists to capture his speech? To stop these incessant claims of mis- interpretations, he should speak the language we all understand!....except of course, it is a deliberate ploy to cause confusion. |
mathskill: i want all the haters to translate "it is raining cats and dogs" in thier mother tongue. You will found out it is miles from what the english man is trying to describe.same with what buhari said about "kare jini, biri jini".To his immediate audience who understand hausa he meant to "struggle to withot compromise to ones intergrity and principles" .To his non hausa audience one can interprete what he said to suit his/her selfish interest and further invent lies against buhari. |
Like someone earlier said, there is nothing stopping Buhari from picking interest in other sections of the country. He should reach out to all other tribes he desire to govern. A few igbo, yoruba, efik, nupe etc words each in his diction apart from the general English language would do him no harm. |
