Arsenal identify Celtic frontman Odsonne Edouard as top target as Mikel Arteta scours market for new striker

By Oliver Dawnay

8th September 2020, 3:10 pm

Arsenal are reportedly ‘hugely interested’ in signing Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard this summer as Mikel Arteta steps up his hunt for a new attacker.

The Gunners have already wrapped up deals for Willian from Chelsea and Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille in the transfer window so far but Arteta wants to add a new striker as speculation mounts over Alexandre Lacazette’s future in north London.

Odsonne Edouard is highly-rated and seems destined for a move to the Premier League in the future

The 29-year-old has become a bit-part player at the Emirates due to the superb form of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and it appears he could be on his way out.

The Frenchman has two years left on his deal and has attracted interest from clubs in Spain and Italy.

And according to the Daily Record, Edouard is top of Arsenal’s wishlist should Lacazette leave the club.

Edouard has emerged as the most prolific player in Scotland in recent seasons and he scooped the Golden Boot last term after netting 22 goals in 28 Scottish Premiership appearances.

However, Hoops boss Neil Lennon is adamant he will not be selling Edouard this summer.

“We can’t help the attention on him, it’s inevitable,” he said last month.

“But we’ll try to stave off any admirers. I’m sure there are plenty out there, but we love having him here and I’m sure he’s enjoying it.”

Sọ partey might be joining Arsenal after all going by his brother's activity on social media

Willian: "After the first training session I had (at Arsenal) I realized many things and when I got back home I told my agent I should've cancelled the contract at Chelsea long ago and signed for the Arsenal team." https:///cfCFtIEnJs

matters of zi aza room that Wenger is not known for but well played by Unai Emery

Thomas Partey liked Ozil's Instagram picture posted after the Lost to Villa this afternoon

Jodera:

Your guys were actually beaten
Some jokes are just natural

I have just seen it.

someone else actually posted that on the thread that the original owner named Eddie began reporting 1-1 at half time before going off to do something.

Only for him to come back and asked about the results and so many people were posting different results until that Guy came up with the 3-1 and the picture I posted above.

someone else actually posted the 2-3 lost but no one believed him

A Villa fan even gave a clue to the lineup as the below

Arsenal had Martinez ozil auba William pepe saliba Elneny willock Ceballos and rest youth, villa had no grealish McGinn mings(our best players) Alfred fringe players like trez ghazi and youth

Kbs468:
Arsenal defeated Aston Villa by 3-1 this afternoon in a behind closed doors friendly match with Pepe, Willian and Auba banging in the goals after Villa had taken the lead via a mixed up between David Luiz and Martinez

Correction please

Arsenal actually Lost by 2-3 to Aston Villa in truth.

Auba with both goals for Arsenal according to our official Twitter account please as release d an hour ago

kodded:
those athletico guys stubborn sha

I think it all boils down to partey forcing a move, because I don't see those athletico guys allowing partey to go except his RC is paid fully

They are very stubborn ooo when it comes to transfer deals.

But partey is not willing to force the move.

It's just Arsenal as it is else the money is fair enough and should be triggered.

Maybe we are foot dragging because of lack of competition for him though

iamoyindamola:
I think till arsenal sell they can't buy ATM

YES that is the case and no one has moved on except speculations

Arsenal defeated Aston Villa by 3-1 this afternoon in a behind closed doors friendly match with Pepe, Willian and Auba banging in the goals after Villa had taken the lead via a mixed up between David Luiz and Martinez

Jodera:
Nice nice one.

Hope the zoom call between Edu and athletico was a success sha.

Hopefully we will trigger the release clause on deadline day ooo because right now Edu only again offered Lacazette and Guendouzhi in a swap deal for partey ooo

Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar. No agreement between the clubs yet. #AFC ⚪ https:///Dvf4R2hbxe

Daniel Ceballos is a Gunner yet again

Alexis Sanchez has just said on his live video that after signing for United, after the first week he went home and told his family, “Can I break this contract and move back to @Arsenal?” He admits he wasn’t aware of his decision at the time and regrets it https:///E3u0Jkblzz

Some people are so creative indeed

Have a look at the below

Edu gaspar is sheduled for a zoom meeting with Andrea berta atletico Madrid sporting director. Obviously to discuss AGAIN Thomas partey. Arsenal not giving up of ironing out a deal for the player who’s the number 1 target. #Arsenal #Partey #Transfers

Where is Bellerin

Bellerin is on his way out to PSG already as he himself want to move for a new challenge according to report

Arsenal & Real Madrid have signed the paperwork for Dani Ceballos’ loan move. Arsenal will cover his salary in full until June 2021. [@FabrizioRomano]

No option to buy and no loan fee

Juventus has withdrawn from the race for Houssem Aouar. Lyon received interest from City and Arsenal recently and would demand €50m excluding bonuses [@Patrick_Juan7]

Jodera:
I guess this is your lineup ..

A lineup without David Luiz isn't an Arteta lineup.

But by the way. Why would xhaka play DM while partey play cdm? Also, have we sold bellerin?, if not I don't see Amn benching him in a 4 man defence system. I feel xhaka and partey should interchange too.

Aside that, the formation is good

Luiz or Chambers as second option to Saliba actually

Breaking: There is total agreement between Fiorentina and Arsenal for the transfer of Midfielder Lucas Torreira. A loan fee of €8m with obligation to buy at €16m. Torreira has already agreed terms with the Italian team.

What do you guys make of this lineup supposing we get Aouar and Partey?

Arsenal are demanding €15m for Sead Kolasinač, according to @Bild_Sport.

Arsenal currently have 27 players to fit into the 25 list. Who should we lose?

jamalnation:
I doubt if will get both since cellabos is close to joining

we are only mentioning Ceballos because he was with us last season but in truth, how many chances did he created for our attack line?

we seriously need AMs that would create chances for goals so that when we concede, we can easily reply back with goals in truth
