This was what I stated before in one of our post but some ignorant and overzealous nairalanders were busy talking shit. The least APC can get in Rivers state is to adopt Magnus Abe faction led APC primaries. But stubborn leader will rather not do an election than project Magnus Abe as party flagbearer.

Go and rest. Magnus days are numbered .how can the NEC say indirect and magnus Abe went ahead conducted his own primaries ,scored himself and declared himself and even submitted list all by himself

This MBA chief should not worry,the appeal court will squash that wike high court judgement.after which there will be fresh congress and ojukaye will be returned .APC is taking over rivers come 2019

The Chairman of Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Omoku Branch, Prof Richard Nwokocha has declared that Rivers State APC has no candidates in the forthcoming elections in 2019.

Speaking during Channels Television Sunrise Daily on Wednesday, Professor Nwokocha said the legal position on the Rivers APC crisis is established that unless the judgment is vacated, the APC National Working Committee interpretation of the matter is of no consequence.

“If you have not vacated the judgment, the APC cannot partipate in the 2019 General election in Rivers State “, Professor Nwokocha said.

He added: “The candidates fielded by the APC in Rivers State are no longer candidates in the eyes of the law”.

He explained that until there is a stay of execution in the judgment of the Port Harcourt High Court, the judgment remains operarional and the beneficiaries will continue to enjoy the declarations therein.

The academic said that it was unfortunate that the APC is viewing the matter as a conflict between two factions, when it has transformed into an issue between the APC and the law.

He noted that the fact that the APC went ahead to disobey the court meant that it acted as if the court did not matter.

Also speaking, Director General of Tonye Cole Campaign Organisation, Mr Chidi Lloyd announced that the Rivers APC has appealed the judgment.

He accused Senator Magnus Abe of manipulating the director primary by being a participant and an examiner. He said the results from the direct primary will not stand.

Does state excos conduct primaries? According to APC constitution and guidelines state excos only conducts primary for local government elections.

If state excos conducts primaries why didn't NWC accept Akinlade of Ogun since state excos conducted the primary he emerged as against NWC conducted primary.

If congresses has something to do with party primaries Kwara state wouldn't have conducted primaries and had candidates because all the state excos members defected to PDP with Saraki.

If state excos conducts primary Adamawa state wouldn't have had any candidate going into 2019 election because the state excos was disbanded before the primaries.

Presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Dr. Oby Ezekwesili has said claim of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that Atiku Abubakar, its presidential candidate, would reduce fuel price to N90 showed the former vice president was ignorant of the economy.

The product currently sells at N145 per litre but the opposition party said Abubakar had worked out a pricing template that will immediately crash the pump price to N90, The Cable reports.

In a statement issued on her behalf by her campaign group, Ezekwesili described the claim as fraudulent.

“The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) reminded us of why both they and the APC are one of the same, fielding a single candidate called #BuTiku,” the statement read.

“The party promised to crash fuel pump price to N90. This is 419, and it betrays the PDP candidate’s ignorance of how Basic Economics and the solutions Nigeria truly needs.

“The country ended 2018 with 4 trillion of Fiscal Deficit. Where will they find money to slash fuel price? Even if FG had such money, is it because they want another round of Subsidy-Slush Fund that they want to take the country deeper into the corrupted and market distorting fuel price fixing method?

“The Obiageli Ezekwesili For President 2019 campaign is all for market determined pricing which will end up more favorable to the poor who have been and continue bearing the effect of corrupted subsidy regimes more while the rich enjoy the benefits.

Otondo.the list of candidate has been sent to inec and that cannot change.conducting a new congress is just formalities to make Abe happy but mind u all the state excvo will be return unopposed.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, has announced the decision of the party to conduct fresh congresses in Rivers State.


He said this at an ongoing press briefing in Abuja, on Friday.

According to him, the Supreme Court judgement in the case of Rivers State was clear that the congresses conducted by the Chief John Odigie-Oyegun-led National Working Committee was a nullity because they were conducted in defiance of a subsisting court order restraining them from doing so.

Oshiomhole said, “Democracy is a celebration of the rule of law, not the rule of might.”

Ahead of the 2019 election, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has released the list of National Assembly candidates for Rivers state.

Daily Trust Online presents the candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC and the flag bearers for the Peoples Democratic Party in the state.


Senator Andrew Uchendu, APC Senatorial flag bearer of Rivers East parades B.sc and M.sc in Agric Economics while Senator Thompson Goerge Sekibo, PDP candidate has B.sc in Architect and M.sc in Environmental Scien



Ambassador Orji Ngofa, Nigeria Ambassador to Netherland is APC candidate for Rivers South East while PDP candidate is Dr Barry Mpigi. Mpigi is currently a member of the House of Representatives, representing the constituency of Tai–Oyigbo–Eleme. First elected in 2011, he was re-elected to a second term in December 2016

Betty Okagua Apiafi, PDP candidate for Rivers West is an economist, retired banker and a school teacher. In the 2007 general elections, she was elected to the Nigerian House of Representatives as a candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the federal constituency of Abua—Odual—Ahoada East. She was subsequently re-elected in the 2011 and 2015 general elections.

Osinakachukwu Thankgod Ideozu is APC candidate for the zone. Ideozu attended the Rivers State University of Science and Technology where he studied Estate Management.

Ideozu also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree in Finance and Banking from the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State. In furtherance of his educational pursuit, Ideozu has another master’s degree in Environmental Management from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology as well as a third master’s degree in Public Policy from the College of London.
