Oga advanceDNA, i know you said i should be patient but anxiety wants to finish me because i already bought a cheap ticket since last month. Please from your experience here, in a case with NSF, is there a specific timeframe for dependents visa to be out after the MA? Tomorrow makes it a week since MA visa came out and we still haven't heard anything, should we email them? Thanks

Hello everyone, please is it normal for main applicant visa to come out first before the spouse and children who are her dependent? Biometrics was done July 6th, additional info was requested July 19th for my senior daughter from my previous relationship, wife visa came out July 25th but we are yet to get ours. Do i need to do anything or just wait? Please advise

Was the consent letter done via Affidavit or any court process? If yes, you shouldn't have issues but if not.

There is something we call Guardianship for such kids. This would be done through the court. You should have submitted this during your application. However, if you have not submitted or you still have time to submit, visit the nearest Social Welfare Office in your State to process it.

It aligns with (b) of the requirements.

No the consent letter was not done via affidavit or any court process. I will see what i can obtain from the court by Monday and hopefully it will be acceptable.

My senior daughter has been living with us since 2yrs now and we plan to move together. We all submitted and did biometric on the 6th of July but we got this email below on the 19th July

The UK Decision Making Centre is currently assessing the application submitted by the above named. We are unable to conclude the application at this time as we require additional information.
Your application is being assessed under paragraph SW 30.1 to SW 30.2. The Immigration Rules require that the applicant’s parents must each be either applying at the same time as the applicant or have permission to be in the UK (other than as a visitor) unless:
(a) the parent with permission as a Skilled Worker is the sole surviving parent; or
(b) the parent with permission as a Skilled Worker has sole responsibility for the child’s upbringing; or
(c) the decision maker is satisfied that there are serious and compelling reasons to grant the child entry clearance or permission to stay with the parent who has permission as a Skilled Worker.
You have applied to join or accompany your father to the UK. You have stated your parents are separated but have not provided sufficient evidence to demonstrate that you meet points (a), (b) or (c) as above.

Why don't you get those docs Mofolam listed for you? She clearly stated you shouldn't use an ordinary affidavit, and I'm sure she advised based on her recent experience.🤷🏾‍♂️

Yes but i don't think you can just get ANY court document regarding such situation if its not an affidavit ( i stand to be corrected though ). Please anyone with idea on such situation can also share for us all to learn

I’ll allow others respond because I’m not sure. Although it’s unusual for the spouse of a person to have sole responsibility when both legal parents are alive and able. My own suggestion is u still get sole responsibility document then in ur cover letter try as much as possible to address option C. Backing it up with all proof and evidence u can get. But let others weight in

Its very confusing you know. Someone advised that i swear an affidavit of fact or parenthood ( nothing person no go hear for visa matter lol ), the affidavit will state that i and my wife has been the one catering for my daughter for the past 5yrs. Then i should attach letter of maintenance stating that we are both capable to cater for her wellbeing and that we have sole responsibility over her, then attach bank statement. I don't know if this will be of help the situation

Please gurus in the house should come to my aid.

Your daughter's application is dependent on you, whereas you're a dependent.
Her application supposed to depend on the skilled worker who is your wife. All your documentation pertaining to her supposed to be tied to the MA not you. UKVI is trying to prevent human trafficking.

She was stated as a dependent in my wife's form as a step daughter. You know i cannot put that she is my wife's daughter when she is my daughter. How best can a situation like this be handled?

Use any and every means of identification she has, NIN also. And back it with prayers. Other applicants will be treated individually. Others are straight forward and shouldn't have any issue.

Please does this sentence "the parent with permission as a Skilled Worker has sole responsibility for the child’s upbringing" means my wife who is the main applicant should be the one to do the court letter showing she has sole responsibility? Its kind of confusing cos she is the skilled worker here

I need estimated cost of Shipping and clearing a 20ft container in lagos from Dubai UAE. Yes but i know like three people that has good jobs and ties in the UAE but has been denied there and advised to go and apply from home country. One works with HSBC and his wife works with Etihad and so on.Some countries will tell you to apply from home country. I am thinking of getting her permit then we come back and try again from Nigeria because i am thinking it could be suspicious to go and reapply from UAE after being denied in your home country ( just my thoughts though ). What do you guys think?

The decision was reached because you did not demonstrate to consular officer where you have your “strong” ties. Example is Presence of family and Community Engagement. You should reapply in UAE because that is where you have your employment and you are technically engaged with the community because you pay your taxes to the UAE Government and not Nigeria.

Is it advisable to reapply immedately? No. Because there has been no change.
Does your wife reside in the UAE? : no she dosent because she does not have a permit so she was actually right in her answer.
You work in the uae and your wife is in Nigeria. Your 'ties' aren't specifically in either country. Likewise with your wife. She's a trader. Its not anything that she can't abandon. Your roots aren't firm in either country so to speak. In my opinion, the fact that u don't live in nigeria or work here shows you don't have much love for the country so can it be said you have ties here? Nope
When your wife has gotten a permit in the uae, both of you can apply from there.

I was really hoping to share my goodnews testimony but sadly it didn't go as planned.I came from the UAE last week as i work there and have my residence there,i actually wanted to apply from here but my wife has not gotten her residence yet,hence we had to apply from Nigeria.We were rejected today in Abuja by the guy at cubicle 8. I was very surprised because everything seems fine. Below is our transcript:

I am not trying to shift blame on my wife but i have written what i think is the cause of the denial in capital letter. I believe she didn't hear the question very well but i was disappointed because i told her several times that,if you don't hear anything clearly,tell the vo to repeat the question. I wasn't convinced by her nervousness but its fine as i told her is nobody's fault,its just fate because she has been feeling so down.

I don't know what exactly could be the cause but in my own point of view,i think it has to do what i have stated above but if there could be any reason,i will appreciate your opinion and advice. Is it advisable to apply immediately? I think it will be wise to get her residence before we apply again because i just feel if am married and working in UAE,my wife ought to be there with me. I have been working here in Dubai for almost 2years now and i just got married December 2015,I have traveled to South Africa, Kenya, Turkey ( twice ), Italy and Spain,all these visas i got from here in Dubai with no stress. I wish to take my wife on a trip to the U.S.A but because she hasn't gotten her residence here,she can't apply from here ( I was also advised by some peeps to apply from home country ) with me so i am planning on coming back to Nigeria to apply there with her. I would like to know if i can use my statement of account here to apply over there in Nigeria because i don't have a salary account there in Nigeria since am working here in Dubai. I also wish to know how long I need to apply prior to our travel dates and how close are the interview dates after putting in your application online.

Thanks for your advice. I have heard several stories that most countries wants you to apply from your home country and USA and Canada is the top on the list. I tried applying for Russia sometime ago and i was told to apply from home country.

Applying from Nigeria is okay but you work in UAE which means most of your tie is there except your wife. I think it makes sense for both of you to apply in UAE if you're working on her residence in UAE or wait till she get her residence and apply together in UAE because 3 of your ties is in that country. I would advice you apply over there, cause over there in 9ja, it takes over 80 working days.. Hence your package is complete your good too go. You can equally make use of your statement from there, hence you can convince the VO that you can have access to it over there in CA.

just type ur search "website for approved institutions in Toronto with a reasonable school fees" on google. Start from there, get accepted first into a school and then come back and ask specific questions abt ur visa application. as for wen u need to start, I'll say Right away!
