Dr. Chinenye Nwabueze a former lecturer in the department of mass communication, Anambra State University is full of joy and excitement over the kind of reception he received from his former students, ten years after he left the school, ABUJAPRESS reports.

Dr. Nwabueze, popularly known as Tourgecko for his tourism expedition also emerged first during a voting exercise for the best former lecturer among the ex-students.

At a fun-filled event in Awka at the weekend to honour him, the Associate Professor who hails from Imo state was adorned in native leopard skin attire and a sword, depicting a warrior but a tourist in the actual sense.

"They treated me like a superstar today. They made me feel like Slim Don Jazzy", he said as he gushes in excitement.

The reception hall in his honour was electrified by a sterling performance by popular hypeman, known as Native Boy who was also a former student of Dr. Nwabueze.

He added artistic flavour with his theatrical performance which thrilled those in attendance.

Dr. Nwabueze was full of gratitude for the red carpet rolled out in his honour, which he said made him feel appreciated for his contributions in academic world.

He also took a tour of Awka with the assistance of a tour guard who showed him round the city again after a long while.

Meanwhile a former student, CEO of Amity Global Network and Abuja popular PR practitioner, Alex Nwankwo popularly known as AlexReports has congratulated Dr. Nwabueze for the award.
