Crime › Re: Oyo Police Debunk Report Of Pastor's Arrest Over Alleged Kidnap Arms Supply by Kdon2: 8:56pm On Jun 28 |
oyonenvirons: The Oyo State Police Command has dismissed reports claiming that a pastor was arrested for allegedly supplying weapons and ammunition to suspects involved in the kidnapping of students and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area, describing the allegations as false, misleading, and deceptive.
In a statement issued on Saturday, June 27, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, said the reports circulating on some media platforms and social media were entirely unfounded.
According to the police, the Facebook post that originated the claim neither mentioned the name nor the address of the alleged pastor and falsely alleged that the cleric served as a gunrunner for the kidnappers.
"The Command wishes to categorically state that this claim is entirely false, misleading, and unfounded," the statement read.
The police further clarified that neither the Oyo State Police Command nor any other security agency involved in the ongoing rescue operation had arrested any pastor in connection with the kidnapping.
"The Facebook post, which did not mention the name or address of the pastor, further claimed that the cleric was a gun runner for the bandits. However, the Command wishes to state that no such arrest has been made by the Police or any other known security agency involved in the ongoing rescue operation, and investigation is ongoing," the statement added.
The Command described the publication as a deliberate attempt to divert security personnel from ongoing rescue efforts while undermining public confidence in security agencies.
"The Command views this publication as a deliberate attempt to distract security operatives from ongoing rescue efforts and to cast doubt on the integrity, commitment, and professionalism of personnel working tirelessly to ensure the safe return of the victims," DSP Olayinka stated.
Residents were advised to disregard the false report and rely only on official information released through the verified communication channels of the Oyo State Police Command.
The Command also warned individuals and media organizations against spreading unverified information, stressing that anyone found responsible for disseminating misinformation capable of jeopardizing public confidence or ongoing security operations would face legal consequences.
"Individuals and platforms involved in the deliberate spread of false information are warned to desist, as the Command will not hesitate to invoke all lawful means to identify, investigate, arrest, and prosecute anyone found culpable," the statement warned.
The police reaffirmed their commitment to securing the safe rescue of the abducted students and teachers and maintaining public safety across Oyo State. We know the misinformation merchants😜 |

Family › Re: Please Help! I'm Getting Tired Of My 3months Old Marriage by Kdon2: 7:32am On Jun 28 |
Chijeep: To cut the long story short, I did my traditional marriage 3momths ago, though I met the girl online but before we even started talking about marriage, our chat always flow with fun and togetherness.
But the moment we return back to our base after the marriage this girl started behaving like introvert and a bit celibacy. Won't want to talk to me like in the aspect of gisting and barely share issues and decisions with me. Even the aspect of food she hardly find interest in eating what I'm able to provide. I've confronted her more than 3 times and reminded her that I told you already before we go into this union that I'm not rich yet and I'm managing, and she assured me that she's also not from a rich home either and she'll be supportive. but now the girl will be acting as if I'm forcing her to eat the rubbish I provided.
I told her that she's free to quit the marriage if she's not that impressed and happy but she doesn't want to or maybe she's thinking of how people will see her.
PLEASE WHAT CAN I DO AS THIS IS AFFECTING MY EMOTIONS?, BECAUSE I'M A GUY THAT DECIDED TO LIVE AND DO MY THINGS ALONE, SO THAT I'LL BE ABLE TO HAVE MORE TIME WITH MY WIFE AND CHILDREN WHEN THE TIME COMES. She is waiting for a better opportunity to leave. She will leave eventually. |

PaNnamdi: The biggest lie one can lie is to lie to himself and believe in the lie at the detriment to his own life.
Sunday Igboho should stop all this nonsense jazz rubbish and equip his men with strong weapons like the millitant guys of the naija delta and stop all this "Dem shoot me e no enter"rubbish. This nonsense jazz odeshi believe is why southern Nigeria is been about to e overruned by bandits.
•U have jazz against gun but u couldn't walk into the kidnappers den and rescue the students in the forests but u came out claiming nonsense odeshi e nor enter rubbish •u have charms but can't use it to invoke the spirits of the bandits to make them come outside from their hideouts •u have gun jazz but the Southwest is almost overruned.
The earlier nigerians stop this nonsense gun jazz believe and start to arm themselves with better weapons e.g equipping the vigilantes going to fight the bandits with better rifles like Remington 7600 pump rifles, bulletproof vests, drones ,Ak-47s to designated vigilantes among them during rescue ops etc the better.
An unrepentant fool grow old and die in foolishness.
Nigerians please let's believing in lies of nonsense jazz against gun that is the fastest way to die,but rather tackle this issue with reality
That's the best solution. Says an nnamdi. As if Yoruba matter is your business☹️ |

flokii: The Northerners are now fleeing their ancestral lands in droves.. most of them can't return home because of the magnitude their silence and neglect to the insecurity has resulted to.. when they ought to have spoken up, they kept quiet, thinking it was going to affect only the non-Muslims. Majority of them are regretting today.
I know most of my South West folks don't like crossing our borders but take it from me, the situation in North now is ugly.. invariably, no where is safe again.
The Northern elders have failed their region and people.. the onus now lie on Southerners especially Yorubas not to fail our motherland. This is time to unite against insecurity be it Christian, Muslim, Traditionalists, Pagans, etc. They created their own insecurity themselves. They should blame themselves not others. |

Politics › Re: Why State Police May Not Solve Insecurity In Nigeria – Falana by Kdon2: 11:52pm On Jun 25 |
adenigga: Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, has said that unless unemployment is tackled, state police may not be the solution of insecurity in Nigeria. Falana made this statement on Thursday when he appeared as a guest in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
He was speaking on the recent passage of the contentious State Police Bill by the Nigerian Senate to address insecurity in the country.
“I don’t think we should criminalize politicians, and I don’t want to engage in any conspiracy theory.
“The debates has been on since we started the campaign for restructuring in the country and set out a new phenomenon.
“How do we have more police stations? How do we employ more policemen and women without considering social security? Why are we not talking of creating employment for young people? Why are we not giving assistance to Nigerians that are vulnerable, extremely poor
“And unless you address this problem holistically, creating a state police or local government police will not address the crisis of insecurity in the country,” he said.

Politics › Re: State Police Will Face Funding Crisis, Abuse By Governors — Balarabe Sule by Kdon2: 11:50pm On Jun 25 |
Ofunaofu: A former Commissioner of Police, Balarabe Sule (rtd.), has warned that the newly legislated state police architecture will collapse under the weight of funding deficits and executive abuse across many states of the federation.
Sule, who spoke with the Vanguard on Wednesday, was reacting to the Senate’s passage of the executive bill establishing state police, cautioning that despite its crime-reduction potential, Nigeria remains unprepared for the transition.
“I can very well tell you that many states will not have the resources to equip and pay remuneration for those to be employed to function effectively,” he said.
The retired officer identified five fundamental threats to the policy’s success: inadequate funding, corruption, abuse of power by governors, clash of interests and lack of operational uniformity across the federation.
On corruption, Sule drew a direct line between poor remuneration and professional compromise.
“When you don’t pay them well and as at when due, they will be exposed to corruption. You don’t expect an officer who is not well paid and equipped to perform optimally,” he warned.
He expressed particular concern over political interference, fearing that state chief executives would weaponise the new force against perceived opponents.
“I also fear that state police will be subject to abuse by the governors who pay them, irrespective of the checks and balances,” he said.
Sule noted that the absence of uniform operational standards across 36 constitutionally distinct states would further deepen these fractures, arguing that each state’s peculiar economic realities made a one-size-fits-all policing model unworkable.
Despite his reservations, the former commissioner acknowledged the inherent value of community-based policing, noting that officers recruited from their localities would possess invaluable local intelligence.
“In your locality, you practically know everyone and where crimes are likely to be committed.
“Recruitment will be done in such a way that only indigenous people will be posted to their area,” he said
https://www.vanguardngr.com/2026/06/state-police-will-face-funding-crisis-abuse-by-governors-ex-police-boss/ Those feeding fat on federal police are finally speaking. But God will not let their voice be heard. Amen |
