To anyone afraid the local government chairman will go on a looting spree be vigilant and remember they don't have immunity. They can be tried while in office. The best they can hope for is a pardon from an outgoing executive. That would be a hard sell if they have further political ambitions. It's debatable if a governor can pardon a federal convict or president for state convict.

My state Edo, the soil is good for rubber. Michelin and Dunlop tyres used to have their rubber plantation in the state and their company was sited in potharcourt and Lagos respectively before they close down. What stop our governor to capitalize on it and float a tyre manufacturing company. Their closure was due to power failure and the federal government has removed power generation from the exclusive list, meaning state or anybody can build a power plant. Only the innovative ones will now performed better than his chairmen. I was shocked when i was one of the site maintenance engineer then to the MTN site at okomu and I was shown Okomu's rubber plantation. They told me Michelin now buy from them and take it to Ghana were they relocated to. I feel so sorry for my state cos imagine the money the state would have been making by producing tyres of all kind. Rich Edo people are not also interested cos they prefer to build hotels, and clubs everywhere. After the Supreme Court yesterday gave a landmark judgment granting financial autonomy to Local Government Councils across the country, local government workers in Abia state were captured on video rejoicing and singing President Bola Tinubu’s praises.

The excited workers couldn’t hide their joy as they trooped out to celebrate other outcome of the court case. Hopefully, this will be the beginning of the amelioration of the sufferings they have endured under the Labour Party governor that has hijacked the council funds without paying workers that salaries for month.

Excitement is going on in some local government now. It's is a victory for democracy. God bless those people for coming out. Those hyenas as governors will be out to shame very soon. Many governors will be exposed now. From henceforth Nigerians in their various LGA will now be the judge if it's only government project in their place or state government and know who to hold responsible. I salute the braveness and boldness of Mr President. This is what Obasanjo, Jonathan and Buhari could not do. Nigeria shall rise again. All chairmen live within and if any mismanagement of resources is found out by his constituents, na sorry case. I trust my own people in my LGA for that. We have embarrassed some of them before and now it will be much easier to do. All allocation will be in the net and we will see to check if his performances correspond to what he recurved monthly. How can chairman can't even construct 200 meters of road. Streets suppose to be taken care of chairmen and the governor go for major road construction. Oshiomole constructed a road connecting my town igarra to Ososo passing through eight communities. The road is as good as when constructed till now. Many schools were reconstructed. Our general hospital was totally upgraded. Obaseki can't use few months deputy governor position without single development to decieve us with votes. We are enlighten people. Obaseki will soon know that is a political novice when it comes to politicking. You firstly lost the support of legacy group in pdp and you didn't retreat with the impeachment of Shaibu a formidable politician with a lot of experience and connections. That you are a governor and party constitution mandate you to be pdp leader in the state, does not mean you are the political leader in real sense. It just the respect the party has for the office not really the person as governor. Am from same zone with Shaibu but many of us supported zoning to Edo central. Only unpopular governor will be scared of his deputy for primary election when he is supporting another candidate. He shut other major candidates like barrister Anselm Ojesua the former Apc state chairman who left a lucrative office to become ordinary member of Pdp in 2020 and till now and supported his re-election. He is from Edo central. Why was Obaseki so bent on Asue, a man who has not contributed to the development of Edo state in the past. He was chairman of sterling bank until just late last year, but couldn't bring any branch to his senatorial district with towns like Ekpoma, Uromi and even his local government headquarters Ubiaja. His cry then was that he was been distracted because of godfatherism and know he want to be a godfather.
