Boss @Okoroemeka, I have nothing but respect for you in this Agric space. I would urge that you look into the issue of the collection, preservation and packaging of your seeds.
I do not know the OP and have never communicated with him. However I also had issues with the pepper seeds I got from you earlier this year.
I bought red and yellow scorpion; Nsukka pepper. The pack of Nsukka (a small quantity in a different type of pack) opened and spilled before it got to me. I informed you about this.
The red and yellow scorpion seeds developed fungal attack (like in OP's picture) the yellow a few days after I bought them and the other about two weeks later, while still unopened and kept where I keep other seeds. My seeds from other companies including the okro I got from you are still ok as I write. This fungal issue caused me to plant all the red and yellow scorpion immediately and all at once unplanned as I noticed the issue. I had planned to do it in batches because of my limited space and also at the end of the year/early next year. However I had to rush to sow the seeds in June as I feared they would spoil further and no longer germinate by December.
I soaked for about two days with fungicides and had very good germination rate. I never mentioned this to you but I should have and am sorry to be bringing it out here like this now.
The third issue I have is that the fruits that came (from red and yellow scorpion) are a wide assortment of pepper varieties: the red and yellow scorpion, and then small amounts of up to 3 or 4 other different varieties. I was suprised at this but went back to read your threads and discovered that you developed the yellow scorpion and probably the red scorpion varieties yourself. So I excused this.
Furthermore they are packed in another institutions packaging which I don't think is right.
The above are my experiences with my purchase from Okoroemeka.
OGoriola: Hello everyone nice thread I have really learnt a lot, I’m looking for a walk in store where I can get hybrid seeds and other farm equipment like seed trays etc. does anyone know anyone around sango or inside Lagos? Thanks
How far away are you from Lusada.. or what part of Lagos specifically.
Farmerakinloye6: Standard price this morning is 28k, and I sold my own been the last harvest 20k. This is my last price update for this year. We move 😎 till next year!!!! Thank you all for contributions❤️♥️💯😎!!!!!
Well done farmerakinloye. Na boss u be. I appreciate your consistency and hardwork. Many blessings on your household. Compliments of the season.
emmaachile2: What's the average production? If you are ready with your fertilizers, let's run one and I bet you you might beat the greenhouse production. The trick is the nutrition and standard processes for high cucumber production. I have a group on telegram if you want to learn crop nutrition https:///+TNovXv1cOU5hNDZk
Emmachile, greetings. I'm trying to join the group but the link isn't working.
ThaThinka: Thanks, but I am not looking for ebooks. They're everywhere. I prefer something practical.
What exactly do you want? Someone to invite you to their farm to intern? How far away are you willing to go? Duration? Have you sought out farms and farmers in your area?
Farmerakinloye6: I don't know about South East, here in south west we start planting by Nov-Jan. On spacing, it is 1.3m because I intercrop two crop with it. We don't apply fertilizer to yam here (Am not saying you cannot) because most times we use very fertile (virgin land) land to plant it.
We harvested our Bell peppers and habanero peppers on Friday last week.
We will be harvesting again this Friday.
Harvest Day is truly a farmer's happiest day. Nurturing crops from seed to maturity is not an easy task. Congratulations With the success of this pilot project I'm now converting every empty land to a pepper farm. For example, there's this empty space in my sister's restaurant that I started clearing since Monday.
It's just one plot of land but going forward, we will get all our peppers, ugu, vegetables, water leaf, ukazi, uziza, bitter leaf and even tomatoes from that small parcel of land. From farm to fork
shariff84: The rice season is back and we are back with our good and affordable prices. The current price of 50kg bag of rice from us is 60k. Transportation cost depend on ur destination.
ini4brandon: Dear agric enthusiasts and gurus in the house, I want to start a vegetable Farm on a 1500sqm land. Can you share ideas on; Which vegetables are most profitable in the South-South to cultivate? How much will I need to invest? What's the percentage ROI ? I'll really appreciate your inputs thank you.
You're asking for a lot, and people might not have the time or incentive to answer on this forum. Additionally, you're not asking the right questions. Why not search out practicing farmers in your vicinity and have a one-to-one discussion? If you search hard enough, you'll find farmers from your area. I remember @ideepaul, and there are others too. Good luck!
emmaachile2: Is the Haifa potassium nitrate foliar based? If it's granular, you can give 15g per plant using below formula every 2 weeks into soil. Don't mix in water. If fertigating, it's a different ball game.
10g of 15-15-15 5g of potassium nitrate
Thanks Mr..Emma..what make of digital scale do you use
Ibdart: Does anyone knows where I can buy these earthworms I really needed them now
See this response from one of the commenters: Hello Chicwoman. i would have if i was in Nigeria though. Will try to bring it on a trip home and see how that pans out but if one makes a trap bucket you might be able to get some. FIll up and inverted bucket with food and holes on the side. place it down and place a stone on it in a damp area in a farm which hasnt had fertilizer applied to it and you will get a good number of worms.
kay177: Please farmers in the house Farmerakinloye6 and others please help me my tomatoe flowers are just drying up and dropping and also turning yellow instead of them to bring fruit soil isn't dry I don't know what is the problem here all my efforts going down pls help..
