cococandy: I want to say same but in hindsight, people sure love their prejudices so I’m not surprised. Each of his voter group have one group or the other that they hate and he encourages them in it. That’s their unifying umbrella.
Forget all that talk about economy. Harris had a better plan. And the US economy is on the way up from the stuff Trump did to it last time.
So if it’s really about economy for them, they were either not paying attention or just refuse to admit what’s in front of them. (And it’s because of some unnamed prejudice they holding onto).
For white hillbilly’s, you know who they hate For black men, you know who they hate, For straights, we know who they hate For extremist Christian nationalists, we know their hate
He told them they’ll have free speech to harass these people and he’ll make laws to protect them from it.
They don’t care ish about the economy. In all of this, I'd like to say evidence shows us that Black men are not the issue in America. Looking into the data, they voted for Kamala only 1% less than Black women, I just need to put this record out there. I feel the blame game is getting too much on black men, It is time to be honest that we are still black women's biggest supporters. |

America was made and built by whitemen for whitemen, If it was left for all this attachee( blacks and others) US would have been a 5th world country, Its so sad but So true.
Congrats To Mr Trump. I actually agree the White man built America & they have all the powers, so yes they will wield it as they wish. The black man unfortunately does not have any management skills. |

Maeve7: Power is not given, power is taken. Dictators don’t rise to power because of checks and balances and laws but despite them. He tried to overthrow the last election and failed. Neither you nor I know if he will try and fail again.
The fact that he refused to respect the will of the people in the previous election should tell us that he is a dangerous man. America‘s institutions are strong but not indestructible.

Gerrard59: THANK YOU!
That's what the woke people don't know - you cannot impose nonsensical cultural norms on everyone, especially when there are more serious issues such as the economy and open borders. I am actually genuinely surprised he won this election, I do not think the reason he won is what we all think it is. Wokeness is not part of the reason honestly. The White men had only one candidate & it was another White man. That is all I see here, nothing special honestly. For me, Kamala would have favoured our immigration to America & my family members will get appointment dates in US embassy but now it's to move to Japan I have added the stats & this is the reference: https://x.com/AttorneyGriggs/status/1853984175918858604

Maeve7: Hitler was democratically elected before he became a dictator. Germany has been a democracy before. That’s just one example of how a democracy can be destroyed.
Till this day Trump claims he didn’t lose in 2020. He was stopped from overthrowing the result of the election in 2020 because enough people in the right positions did what was right. What if nobody stops him next time? He cannot actually over throw any result. No single person has that much power. It's America we are talking about & not Tinubu's Nigeria. If it was another man like a younger version of Biden that campaigned, Trump would have lost because the White man votes will be divided amonsgt both. He is not that powerful I'm sorry. What happened here is that white men only had one option which was another White man. If it was two White men, the results will be different. |

cococandy: Well he has an awful platform that a lot of people are ignoring just so they can talk about how women want to kill unborn babies etc.
There is the issue of the economy which we’re still recovering from his past blunders. There’s the issue of American diplomatic relations as well as the issue of separation of church and state.
The issue of Trump wanting to abolish the department of education for all children. Abolishing of medicare/medicaid (health aid to old people and disabled people.) Removal of veterans rights and retirement benefits.
Those two things aren’t even the majority of the issue. I could go on and on. Notice I haven’t even said anything about him being a bad person. Alright thanks, I never even knew all of this, because for me the main reason I supported Kamala was because the American embassies were open to immigrants under the democratic rule & appointment dates for US visas became available, under Trump it is shut down completely. So what concerned me was immigration & perhaps that is the information my brain kept reiterating. Okay I wish the Americans good luck in this next 4 years. Abortion issue was something everyone kept talking about blowing out of proportion. |

He wanted to overthrow the last election.
He wants to use violence against opposition.
He scapegoats minorities.
Do you need more? Not defending him, but you cannot constitutionally over throw an election in US, it is not Nigeria. He can only shout but cannot over throw anyone. Maybe I am wrong but please let me know. I am saying this as there are 3 types of people in this election, pro-Trump, pro-Kamala & those that not affected by the any of the two (as an immigrant not based in America). Which is who I am. |

I know that between being in Europe for the next few years and living in California full time, it will be hard for his bigotry to touch me.
But my heart still hurts for those who’ll inevitably suffer and die because of this man’s presidency.
But he got majority votes so the people chose their poison. Can’t cry too much for them I have a question because I am confused, please is there something others like me should be aware of apart from Immigration & abortion rights which are the two main issues I recognised in this campaign, I am genuinely asking. From what I see, the most Trump votes come from the White men, I don't mean to be a Black racist but I kinda feel like they will not leave their authoritarian rule for any other tribe or minorities. White men control the world & all of us are just pawns in their game. I do not hate nor love the White man but I recognise the powers that be. |

Maeve7: I have seen your posts and I feel the same way. I just can’t believe it’s happening in America. I knew from the start that Kamala Harris wasn’t the best choice because of her performance in the primaries before Biden won and I knew it was going downhill after her Fox News interview which I couldn’t watch for longer than 4 minutes but she was still better than a felon, rapist and wannabe dictator. A fly would be better.
The most devastating part for me is that so many people are willing to give him their vote.
But yeah, humanity doesn’t seem to learn. Scapegoat a minority, promise tax breaks, make the media focus on you with scandals because bad publicity is as useful as good publicity and you win.
The world has changed in a way that is difficult to digest. Decency, honesty, integrity and kindness don’t seem to matter anymore. What exactly is all this fuss and panicking about, those two candidates are not really different. One favours immigration while the other is against it, another favours Abortion while the other says abortion rights should be left to states. Fundamentally they are both politicians like Biden, wars will continue and gas prices will still be high so what exactly is the issue. |

Shocking moment Mercedes driver PUNCHES truck’s wing mirror & shouts ‘open the door’ in ‘road rage’ fury
Video taken by the stunned driver of the truck shows the woman standing outside the cab at a busy junction and shouting at him.
Cops confirmed that the incident took place on Pinkham Way in Southgate, North London at around 4pm on Wednesday.
However, the events leading up to it were not caught on camera.
The woman reportedly tried to force her way between two lorries to enter a dual carriageway, which led to the driver accusing her of crashing into multiple other vehicles as she did so.
Footage shows the woman getting out of the Mercedes and aggressively approaching the truck driver as he sits behind the wheel.
She attempts to open the door before telling the driver through the window: "Come on, open the door."
She added: "Come on, open the door bro. Open the door."
But when the driver refuses to open the door and continues to film her she grabs the door of the lorry and hauls herself up.
The truck driver was left speechless as she appeared to punch the wing mirror with her fist and smashed it to pieces.
The damage caused the plastic cases to detach from the mirror and glass to shatter on the floor.
Taking a piece of the debris, the woman then launches it at the driver's window before storming back to her Mercedes which was left with the door open.
With the furious attack over, she drives away as shocked motorists watch on.
After managing to get in front of the lorry which was the target of the attack, she is said to have pulled up and got out to confront the driver.
A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman told The Sun: "Police are investigating a road rage incident on Pinkham Way, Southgate.
"It happened shortly after 16:00hrs on Wednesday, 30 October when a woman reportedly confronted a lorry driver before damaging the vehicles wing mirror.
"No arrests have been made.
"Enquiries are ongoing." SOURCE: https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/31453421/shocking-moment-mercedes-driver-punches-road-rage/

MrAnonymous911: Funny enough, we've been married for 10yrs now but it just seems like i can't or just not allowed to get angry when she does something wrong, if i show any form of disappointment or correct her in a slightly rude manner, she'll throw up a tantrum, saying things like "it's fine o", "you've changed", or she'll just deny any form of responsibility to the error she made, this really pisses me off and most times i endup apologizing for being mad at her. I think it's my fault sha, maybe i babied her too much right from the start, don't get me wrong, she's a good woman and amazing wife and mother to the kids but am not allowed to express anger in my own house.
Wait..... Or am i the bad guy? She is not a good woman, just because she gave you kids doesn't mean she is good, I am not saying you're perfect or good as well but popping out kids does not make a woman good. She is doing what she is biologically capable of. A good woman is someone of good character. Cruella can also have kids, that is biological. In the same vein your penis does not make you good. You have already made a mistake by marrying someone who does not accept any form of correction, so you have to carry your cross forever on that. Both of you should go for therapy if you can afford it. |

Gerrard59: I am glad you mentioned this as well. I was one of those Nairalanders who criticised Nigerian married men for cheating on their wives. But after seeing the cognitive dissonance by so-called women in coming to terms with hypergamy and the result of stiffer competition for scarce economic resources for young men, I understood the reason why our men "explore" (I don't call it cheating as he is exploring the same options women have had since the age of 15. Life na turn by turn.
Additionally, one of the eye-opening posts was by another Nairalander who narrated how his then GF started drifting away when he experienced financial challenges. This was the same woman who was lovey-dovey when the going was good. Suddenly, everything changed. Another factor that changed my stance is learning that women DON'T like frequent sex, especially after childbearing. Nymphos are the exception. How many nymphs even dey Nigeria sef? Meanwhile, testosterone does not care about this. We have women PROUDLY asking "if sex is food?". But they would not stay with the man if he fails to provide or outrightly disrespect the man if they decide to remain.
Sometimes, I sympathise with much older men who japa'd in their words "for the children". Working odd hours while being deprived of sex all in the name of providing for the family. It is another reason I advocate for as few children as possible. Men have to realise that the world where they are seen as protectors has passed. That gratitude isn't there any longer.
In my books, any man who has provided well enough as his hand can carry for his family should explore his options with as many women as he can handle. It is his right. Provided no disease, extra children (depending on cultural norms) are brought home. Many married men out there are starved of sex. Funny enough, the same modern women loathe sex workers when they are married, but outrightly deny their husbands sex. I haven't even mentioned that black men are the biggest sufferers of prostrate sex and frequent sex has been identified as one of the preventive factors.
It cannot be me sha. I cannot beg for sex. I will buy it outrightly.
Hypergamy exists across economic levels. Women are hypergamous. Good luck to men who believe otherwise. Testosterone is a hormone, not a mo.ron. Yes and yes, I agree wholeheartedly and let me even digress a bit in this, sincere apologies to any religious folks like me who will end up reading this. After a thorough study of the Bible, I’ve come to see that while God didn’t establish polygamy as a principle, He also didn’t explicitly forbid it. Whether this indicates it wasn’t a priority to Him, I can’t say for sure. If it had been of utmost importance, it’s likely He would have included it among the commandments given to Moses on Mount Sinai. God strongly condemned adultery, yet He did not issue a similar directive against polygamy. If He had intended men to avoid multiple marriages altogether, it seems He would have clearly prohibited it. Consider Solomon, for instance: God allowed him to marry many wives without immediate punishment. It makes me wonder why this was permitted. Similarly, when David committed adultery and murder to take another man’s wife, he faced harsh punishment from God instantly, yet he was still allowed to have multiple wives. I’ve come to believe that perhaps there’s something inherent in human nature that inclines men to take more than one wife, testosterone. This is a recent perspective for me; I used to be firmly against polygamy, particularly given how it can contribute to poverty in northern Nigeria. I’m still monogamous, but now I have a better understanding of why polygamy exists. It’s taken time and reflection to reach this point. |

Gerrard59: This one? https://www.zikoko.com/money/asaba-freelancer-hoping-his-girlfriend-wont-leave/
I saw it in school right from secondary to full blown in the university. It was then I removed my mind from anything concerning "Love". I don't believe it exists. Everything has to be transactional, especially when dealing with the opposite sex. What annoys me is the cognitive dissonance by so-called modern women on Twitter who parrot words such as "predator" when a much older man dates/marries a much younger lady. I find that very dishonest because these are the same ladies who told their male contemporaries in schools and even the workplace that "they are not mates", "your wife is in JSS3" (I was told this in my final year) etc. Most women don't rate their male colleagues on the same level as equals.
Hypergamy is everywhere and even worse in wealthier societies. Japan has a low birth rate and one of the reasons the men give for shying from marriage is low salaries and financial responsibilities. The Tokyo Municipal Council tries to solve it by creating an exclusive dating app and one of the requirements is for men to input their earnings. This is commonplace any way for Japanese men to do. Also, private dating apps here make men pay monthly charges (circa $50) but women are omitted. In Singapore, it is even brutal as the women, mostly Chinese, square men by how much they earn and where they work. It is why Western sex bros or even regular men cannot compete there unlike Thailand or Malaysia as the standards in Singapore are very high. Then imagine Switzerland and Norway. It is the dishonesty of most people to acknowledge that pisses me. People are too dishonest these days.
I sympathise with much younger men in Nigeria especially as people say the economy is tough (which I find hard to believe). At least, I can go in and buy sex (I sabi all the strategies involved). But it is very naive for any young man in today's world to believe in love especially as they compete head-on for limited economic opportunities with women who later go on to "use them" (Tiwa Savage's words, not mine). Yes well said, I'm just so happy it was Zikoko that made such post & not some stupid red pill content because it may seem like people are making this up. Many people feel disappointed or even disillusioned by the disparity between the ideal of “love” and the reality they encounter, particularly when financial status has become a key measure of worth in relationships. I used to wonder why Nigerian men cheat a lot, now thinking back at it. I can clearly see the reason. There is simply no incentive of staying faithful to someone who is with you for financial gain. They wouldn't stick by you if the money isn't there, so what exactly is the point. Another scenario which women paint is that there are a lot of poor people getting married which means women don't marry for money, the cognitive dissonance here is they do not realise women who marry poor men are also extremely poor, moreso even ugly looking because women always find the best person available they can have. I mean a lady who is from Makoko, extremely poor can only marry another man who is also slightly less poorer. I do not understand how that proves any point against women marrying for money. |

Now as her family’s breadwinner, her new focus is building an even better future for her siblings Hi Gerald, Have you seen Zikoko's latest post about a guy struggling to maintain his relationship due to financial issues? Your recent posts resonate with the realities of dating and relationships in Nigeria. It's great that a credible platform like Zikoko shared it; otherwise, people might dismiss it as fiction. The guy featured is a real person, highlighting the everyday challenges faced by many. This reflects the typical experience of a 23 year old in Nigeria, and it’s likely to continue until he reaches his late 20s and achieves some stability. Here, the pressure to meet a girlfriend's financial needs goes beyond mere hypergamy. Hypergamy is a global thing, it’s every where but what is practiced in Nigeria is a curse of lack of knowledge. |

Success is inbuilt and not a function of location. If you still see success as a function of location, there is a problem. Britain is a much more stable economy albeit the benefits are cut short, all my families in Britain tell me how cheap food is, how cheap fuel is compared to earnings. The same cannot be said of Nigeria. We need to be careful when we compare Britain to Nigeria. |

Trust me, I understand your perspective and I can confidently tell you Nigeria is finished. The economy is completely destroyed beyond repair. MT: I see a dangerous trend and this is where most of you get it wrong.
You are too generalistic. Talk about yourself. Do not hide under others, as others can only explain their situation and case.
There are levels everywhere in the world. We can both be in the same country and ball differently.
Saying "Nigeria is finished" is silly and too generalistic. If it is finished for you, it is fine for some. To everyone his own.
Or because it is not well with you does not mean it is not well with others.
Some are in Western world, killing it big while some are barely making it. Life is about perspective. Someone living in Chelsea and Kensignton will have a different perspective from someone living in Dagenham. Walk on yourself and stand out.
Talk about your own!. Talk about what is responsible for your situation. Nigeria is not the problem of most people but their past decisions have caught up with them. Talk your own. Simple. |
