Some stores will not release the material if there is change in price. Just be very careful with whom you would be doing it with.
I bought 500 bags of cement fully paid at #3500 but time for collection, they insisted we add #500 on each, this was after 2 months.
Odogwu, tell us how you handled this matter! I don't believe somebody can intimidate you naa!

Thanks for your response. One way to know a quality journal is their indexing that was why I made mention of them. I didn’t make mention of citations, else you would have seen my SCOPUS author ID, Web of Science and even Google scholars. Just provide feedback I will appreciate. Thanks

If I may ask, why would someone (a supervisor, in this case) want to publish in such a journal?
...because the supervisor is a 'stake holder' in such journal and earns a commission per article submitted and published.

"universal"- speaking from a Nigerian perspective, once you pay school fees. You still still fund your research project/thesis. That's my focus. Despite the Admission Officer saying no more payments, I don't take people's words 100℅ (based on my experience and others), except proven otherwise! I don't want to start and get stuck up (I cant come and be begging in a foreign land oh). Thanks for your reply.
Yes!
Even in Nigeria, a Ph.D scholarship covers the research project.

Yea, this thread helped my especially @Prof Wip journals during my seminar. Downloaded and studied not less than 115 journals. Was so rigorous but at least I made an A. And my grades significantly improved from probation I passed. Thanks all for you contributions. Currently on thesis. So stressful coupled with Nigerian factors - strike, etc.

Now, to my question. How 'good' is Indian educational sector. Got an offer for a PhD, but the visa laws (best to my findings online), students are not allowed to work. And it seems the unemployment rates is similar to Nigeria. The school offers 50% scholarship (amounting to $2500 p.a) and a teaching assistantship (about $200/m). By my calculations, also I might need about $4000 for feeding and housing.
How, feasible is it to work in India and pay for studies even if I managed to pay for the first academic year. Also I asked the Admission Officer, she said no other cost. I kept wondering if the research project is also covered in their tuition.

Congratulations on your Ph.D admission.
I don't know much about the Indian educational system especially for foreigners, but one thing is 'universal': The scholarship covers the research project (50% as stated in your submission above).

Goodluck to you!

Concept of a Good Building

It is relatively difficult to determine what makes a good building as the concept depends on an individual’s knowledge and understanding regarding buildings. But let us consider this: why do we build houses? Why do we even need a house? Arriving at the right answer will give us better understanding that a building, which is described as ‘good’ meets certain standards that cover a wide range of interests. Houses serve as shelter where we live, eat, sleep, drink and work in. So it affects our well-being and lives generally. While going about our daily activities, we spend more than 80% of our time in buildings that serve varying functions. This means that a good building must be built to conform to safety codes. More so, a building such as a house is a one-off investment which must serve us in the long-term.

A good building must be conceived and taken into perspective from the design stage. It must be well-built, meet the needs of the client and its users, be attractive and must be sustainable.

Factors that Determine a Good Building

Strength and stability
Climate change, environmental degradation, urban growth and other factors have increased the frequency and severity of natural hazards. Hence, a good building is capable of bearing the expected load in its design and extra loads that come after. The design of its structural components such as beams, slabs, columns, walls and footing should meet safety requirements. It has a good foundation and the ground is able to bear the weight of the house. Its concrete components are reinforced with genuine Thermo-Mechanically-Treated (TMT) iron rods which will makes them strong, stable and not overturn or collapse even when hit by natural disasters.

Durability and longevity
The load-bearing components of a good building are very strong and stable. This ensures comfort and conveniences of the users. It is protected from thermal agents, moisture, and resistant to high temperature and fire. It is durable and long-lasting to serve present and future needs.

Appearance
A good building is not only designed to be strong, durable and long-lasting or meet standards, but also to meet the specifications of the design in terms of aesthetics. It must be appealing to emotions. It should be aesthetically-relevant, and enhance existing character.

Sustainable design
A good building is designed with a proper balance of aesthetics, accessibility, cost-effectiveness, safety and security. It has efficient design and performance, reduces greenhouse gas emission, ensures thermal comfort and has appropriate humidity levels.

Quality
A good building meets the cultural, social and physical requirements of its users and provides safe dwelling to shelter them from hazards that may impact their environments.

Final Words

Though the concept of good building is a notion with diverse interpretations, and depends on an individual’s perception, desire and specification, any building that is certified as ‘good’ must fulfil the parameters above.

I do agree that a good building must be appealing to emotions!

Hello,
Go to google scholar, type the word (say for example 'adsorption of heavy metals'). Download not less than 25 journal(mostly last 5 years and at least ten review inclusive). Take your time to read each with a dictionary and search the meaning of each word. By the time you done, you self go know watin you want to ask. Hope it helps.

On the other hand I have questions to ask here but let me finish my findings first.

Go to Rumuodumaya Secretariat (OBALGA).
