Religion / Christianity In Modern Christendom: Christ Now Being Attacked From Within! by ken2015: 4:04pm On Sep 27, 2016
Modern Christianity: Christ now attacked from within!
By Rev. Br. Kenneth Chigozie Alamezie, BSS
As elected harbingers of the Truth, when we choose to turn a blind eye to glaring evils around us, pitch tent with mendacious elements perpetrating such, it is a sure sign of our willful conspiracy against the Truth, synergy with the Liar, and the upshot of our action we must bear in due time…Kenneth C Alamezie, BSS
Today's Christianity, in virtually all quarters now, is apparently one that is speedily losing the salt and light that for ages had distinguished it from organized religions of the world.
It is no longer news that mammon worship has taken the center stage in modern Christendom; that majority of today's clergy have themselves become vibrant, adamant worshippers of mammon; that many Christians are now worshiping this god instead of our God. I think, what is news, though, is the fact that our generation seems to be working assiduously, even beyond its power, to make sure it hands this wickedness over to coming generations. It's a pity we humans don't learn easily from history!
Like the Israelites of old, who themselves thought Moses and God had both lost their way in their discussion in the open mount, hence pressurized Aaron to fashion them a substitute, modern Christians and their own Aarons seem to have toed along same path.
To the former, a Golden Calf caught their fancy, aroused their happiness and sense of fulfillment, whereas to the latter it is the Golden Coin, the paper notes (now the Naira in this clime). Isn't it amazing, how often history repeats itself! The mystifying part is that this trend as bizarre as it is bewildering has gained massive acceptance in today's Church world and as a result is rapidly becoming the norm. The truth of the gospel is swiftly becoming old-fashioned, as untrained ravenous elements, indeed insane minds have gone haywire in their bid to enthrone its replacement. And from all indications they appear to be making real success in that regard, as Materialism being the appealing message to virtually all men now has mounted the Ass, parading elegantly in many a church pulpit.
This being the iniquitous mother that gave birth to Mammon worship seems to be doing extraordinarily well in her job of raising her beastly child, as even her ungodly daughter's well built and brightly colored bed has now become the resting place of many a Christian soul. Needless to say that nearly all our Christian leaders have abandoned their first love and are now, like the he goat, following this brazen daughter of deception anywhere she goes, sucking, like a starving infant, the milk of her adulterous breast with reckless abandon. Thus, mischief abounds almost on every hand in today’s Christendom, and Christianity itself seems now to onlookers of other religions as a religion of fraud. Seeing how this evil trend keeps multiplying on a daily basis, and how majority, even the elect, are being swayed by her adulterous beauty, I can't stop wondering where in the world this uncanny evolution will eventually get us.
It' ridiculous what kind of attack Christianity is presently undergoing: the attack from within and orchestrated by supposed keepers of the house themselves. But didn't the Lord say that one's enemy would be members of his own household?! Christ's most daring enemies are now members of his own body; leaders, so-called anyway, who have fashioned for themselves and those they are leading another god-Mammon-- beside God and His Christ. Sure, I wouldn't try to query it if someone opined it's the foretold desolating sacrilege that would crawl up into the holy place!
But the Nigeria case has a more terrifying dimension to it, adding also the agonizing proliferation of its sister scandal-sex worship-which has rather become a blot on the landscape. Sex abuse of all kinds, though sinister and disastrous to man, is gradually becoming no wrong in the Nigerian Church. Whether or not the rise and wild circulation of pornographic materials via sundry handles has added a quick boost to this disgrace threatening Christianity in this clime remains a question for another day. The point here is that Christianity has come under severe attack, more than it has ever witnessed since that Pentecost experience that gave it life in Jerusalem.
Although one could say that mammon worship in religion didn't start with us here in this era, as Scripture has numerous accounts of where such happened both in the OT and NT era; yet it is not in doubt that the trend in this era has become something else, obviously nothing the world has ever witnessed before.
For instance, we have some examples of where such happened in Bible times and almost with impunity. In fact, on one occasion our Lord, when he couldn't bear anymore the terrible escapades of temple thieves, took up a whip and chased those greedy lots and their animals out of the temple. Another example standing out is the one of the apostle-Traitor, Judas Iscariot, who had a terrible spirit of greed in him. In fact the beloved and love apostle, John, said it plainly in Scripture that he was a thief, as he would often help himself to the general purse. And he didn't go scot free; we all know how his bowel split open and his entrails poured out on the earth! But, like the apostle, John, is it possible we can get among today's Church elders one who could boldly call out these temple thieves here with us and their ungodly business empires often run as Church, in their rightful names, condemn their malice against God and humanity as they rightly deserve without painting words? Can we get one who could look them in the face and tell them they are heartless rogues? Like the Master did, can we get one who could start up a sort of Whipping process to checkmate and chase these vicious marauders out of our temples? I leave you to answer these questions.

There is another involving the dubious couple, Ananias and Sapphira whom Peter rebuked sharply resulting to the duo's sudden death. Now in each of these cases, we could see the perpetrators of the evil receiving what is due them, by way of sharp rebuke, at least, which is foreign to modern Church, especially in Nigeria where church shepherds commit whatever atrocity they deem fit and get away with it. Instead of a sharp rebuke, an open one even, at least, they seem to be given a pat in the back by those occupying the honorable position of an overseer.
Now imagine then how many thieves we have accumulated today in Church by this indifferent attitude of our respective Church elders, especially among the so-called revered ordained ministers of the Word, who not only help themselves to their respective church's general purse, but have also become resolute in this wicked act. And as if that is not enough, some of these temple robbers have extended their wicked arms a bit and are now directly or indirectly snuffing the life out of their unsuspecting fellow contributors to the general purse, without anyone saying or doing anything to bring them to book! Instead, those who are in the position to speak up against this ungodly act seem themselves to have a bridle of a sort around their mouths, making the situation to worsen by the day. Perhaps they are also guilty of the same act, who knows! Perhaps they want the dreaded EFCC to extend their drag net a bit, who knows!
In many quarters today, the faithful are no longer taught the way of perfection, but the way of donation. They are no longer taught the spiritual laws of sowing and reaping guiding the universe, but the dubious inventions of degenerate minds, which state that you reap what and where you did not sow. Imagine when a minster would stand and shamelessly be giving his congregation a self-produced prophetic diet, spiritual poison indeed, of supernatural bank payments in their respective bank accounts, even when the latter haven’t made any business transaction whatsoever in the first place! Little wonder criminality is on the high rate. When men are no longer taught the indispensability of the spiritual law of love in every affairs of life, why wouldn't they become killing machines to each other? I bet you we haven't seen anything yet!
Mammon worship is the bane of many a country, empires that have wounded up into oblivion. Scripture calls it the love of money and says it is the root of all evil. Indeed in it you can find the root of every kind of anomalies besieging mankind in this world; for when one thinks praying for one's daily bread is stupidity, such a one can do just about anything to get himself a ‘yearly bread’.
This is where today's Super Apostles, Pastors, Priests, Reverends, Prophets, etc get it all wrong. In their bid to secure for themselves " yearly bread" against the Lord's proposition of a daily braid in that beautiful prayer he carefully taught his apostles, they end up using all manner of callous schemes to extort money from their ignorant members. In this way they have become more depraved and resolute in the act than their Father, Judas Iscariot.
Interestingly, some who are now doing their work but are still claiming such to be God's work, in other to defend their atrocious quest for filthy lucre, would argue their beclouded hearts out that Jesus wasn't a poor man whilst doing his Father's work here on earth, hence their reason for being quite unreasonable in their dealings with earthly riches and taxing of their mediocre members. They would preach to gullible folks the gospel according to themselves, citing some portions of the OT writings and synoptic gospels as backup for their claim. While pursuing madly to acquire limos or airplanes, build houses for themselves and those of their households, they would cite Jesus riding on a colt as an example and backup for their misdoing. They would argue Jesus never begged anyone for anything, forgetting though that he-Jesus-- borrowed from folks, even the Ass on which he rode his way into Jerusalem. On one occasion, he borrowed even from a kid to feed a crowd. This is not to promote the idea of borrowing for God's Children, no! The Lord himself never said we would live by that, neither did he promise nor prayed for that on our behalf. Instead, he said if we give in sincerely to his Father's work, we would reap, here and then, a hundred fold reward. Isn't it amazing, what he has in mind for his ministers? But why are many today not content with reaping the promised hundred fold the Lord's way? Why have they instead pushed the margin up much higher to 'reap a thousand and or million fold' and that outside the Lord's way?
Incidentally, if Jesus and His apostles were so wealthy, as is so often claimed by modern prosperity preachers, one would have to wonder why Judas would betray the One who was helping him to get rich in hopes of gaining enough money to buy a field. Of course it's obvious Judas didn't understand the Lord's teaching and idea of his ministers relying on Divine providence for their needs, which in fact is faith in action, the reason he wanted to, in modern language, make the hare while the Sun shines (after all "ebe onye na aru ka osi eri, onye ma echi--who knows tomorrow). But in due time, God will bring every deed to light, which is my consolation. God bless you!

Speak Well To Live Well

Rev. Br. Kenneth Chigozie Alamezie, BSS

Spoken words are more powerful and command enormous influence on our lives than many know it; as they are not just ordinary sound or mere product of one’s voice cord, but something alive and spiritual, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life (Jn 6:63).
I believe this passage of Scripture has more to explain to us than the plain implication it portrays. Folks who do not know much about the power of spoken words are bound to make a mess of their lives, as they could spend most of their time on earth speaking themselves and others around them to lack, poverty, and destruction. And know ye that ignorance isn’t an excuse in this regard; and whether or not you know it, each time you speak, you are either strengthening things up in your life, destiny and future, or you are doing otherwise. This is the wisdom, I believe, contained in Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” The tongue here isn’t as much the subject of concern as it is its product—words. You see, some translations put this scripture this way ‘…they that love to speak shall eat the fruit…And I think this shows us something quite interesting here. Bringing it home, for more clarity, I could put it this way: they that love to speak life shall eat the fruit thereof, likewise those that are eager to speak death, they shall eat same; it’s the fruit of their labor, afterall. There is no two ways about it. You just reap what you sow, period!
Now it means you can change, govern your world with your words. Isn’t this amazing! I bet it is. But how many of us know, believe, and apply this truth in their everyday living remains the question to be answered. You know, from the little experience I’ve gathered so far in my daily encounter with people of varied ages and backgrounds, all thanks to God for the opportunity, I’ve come to realize that one of the major problems, among a few others starring him in the face, facing man in this world is his inability to grapple with the truth about his fundamental nature as well as the world in which he lives. I think the very day any man realizes the implication of the fact that he’s a product of the Word, the same with everything existing both in the earth and spirit realm, marks the moment of great awakening for him: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made (Jn 1: 1-3).
It holds then that since the world came to be via the spoken Word of God, and we also a product of the Word, then it implies that happenings in this world ought to be governed by words also. I think this explains why the Patriarch Jacob was able to build the future for his twelve sons only with his words. Recall that even the big but careless guy, Reuben, whom he foretold was not going to find his bearing among his brethren, ended up just as he said he would. The reckless fun lover didn’t get to get a place among the twelve tribes.
Yet some people might argue that this does not always apply to every area of life’s endeavors or work out well for everyone. This is because they might have tried in the past to speak life into their lives and it seemed all not to be working out for them. To people like this I could tell why it didn’t and may never work out for them. The tendency is that when it comes to making positive confessions, speaking life and goodness into one’s life and destiny, some people scarcely speak with faith; yet when they make negative confessions about themselves, which results they get almost without delay, you see them unconsciously doing so with every passion in them, hence exhibiting faith even without knowing it. I am not in the least surprise that folks like this end up dragging around big containers of problems and obstacles. You know, I don’t hesitate to get away from folks exhibiting symptoms of this sickening and contagious behavior. They can infect you with it. I prefer faith-filled folks.
Faith is the propelling force that brings about manifestation to every spoken word, or action of man. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith (Mk 11:23). Now I want you to note the word, ‘whosoever’ put in bold in the passage of Scripture just quoted, because it has something very important to tell us. It is interesting to note that the Lord didn’t say only believers in him could speak with faith to see mountains lose their original position. No! He said whosoever, meaning every man/woman has inherited this exceptional virtue in him or her. So by implication it means you aren’t made to sit around looking, as though a defeated dog, at your own mountains threatening your passage and progress in life!
I think one thing is still not very clear to some people: the kind of result you get in life is determined by the kind of faith you exhibit in everything you do, whether by word or action. It’s funny, really, to see how folks exercise a great deal of faith, though often unconsciously, when speaking negative about themselves and their situations, but would scarcely do same when the very need to do so arises. It’s kind of confusing, isn’t it? Little wonder they end up getting a great deal of life’s ruthless darts constantly flying in their direction as a result. Don’t get it twisted, you begin to live well when you begin speaking well (of yourself). This is because your words reflect your thoughts and your thoughts show the state and direction your mind is headed. Therefore, the point here is this: change your view of life to change your speech in life and that way you can get a change in your life. God bless you!

Preacher, You Are Known By Your Fruits, Not By Your Leaves

Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? (Mt. 7:21-22).
Our Scripture verse today makes it quite clear what manner of surprises we are going to get in heaven. I bet the experience is going to be a mesmerizing one. The Lord didn’t mince words saying it.
The message is quite simple: some parading now as men of God (it’s obvious we don’t even have ‘servants of God’ anymore in the Church world today, as men are no longer content with the idea of being merely servants), who claim repository of knowledge of God and His ways, indeed self-acclaimed shakers and pullers of heaven and earth, who claim to be mouthpiece and earpiece of God are going to meet what I refer to as ‘the worst kind of rejection and denial’. Believe it or not, it’s going to be a different ball game all together, as then every man’s work will stand before them and each person’s fruit speak for him. Certainly, there will be no Baba-ijebu game over there.
Actually, the Scripture verse preceding the one above says something quite remarkable. It says, and interestingly it’s the Lord literally speaking, “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. “ And lest I forget, the Lord actually said, prior to this phrase, that a tree is known by its fruit. Thus by your fruits, not even by your leaves, will you be identified.
Although we could say that every believer needs to digest this passage for personal scrutiny, yet we can also deduce the pointer here is directing towards the path of a particular group of people—gospel preachers. And this is regardless of their Church denomination affiliation. Is it not somewhat shocking that the Lord didn’t say we’d know them by their leaves, but by their fruits? The truth is that some plants bear leaves that look alike; but what differentiates them from each other is the fruit they bear.
Bringing this home, I’d say that this truth is also applicable to folks parading as gospel preachers in the Church world today. Amongst them you can’t really easily tell who is who now by their mere appearance; all virtually appear angelic on the face level, taking the Lamb-like form.
Drawing from the Lord’s word, I’d say that each of them could be likened to a plant and the message they preach their leaves. The fruits then are the game changer here, since they make the dividing factor. The fruit with reference to the Lord’s stance on this is one’s character, a preacher’s behavior outside the Church walls. This fruit explains in detail to onlookers the true garment a clergy is putting on, whether the garment of truth or otherwise. You know, one can choose to put on anything s/he wants and parade in them as a shepherd. But such doesn’t make any difference.
Again, it is worthy of note that gone are those days when fake preachers were easily spotted because they couldn’t mention properly the name ‘Jesus’ in their prayers and messages. These days they call it even with reckless abandon; although they know the jesus they are referring to when calling that name. Again, one may not easily tell, among gospel preachers, between who is true and who isn’t by the message we hear them preach. This may be near impossible, as many in the field today are established copycats. They can spend adequate time listening and copying other people they think as being successful in the business, photocopying everything—both their style of movement and tone of voice—to the letters. The Holy Writ to those in this category is but a mere book of formality. Little wonder when any dreamer awakens from his nightmarish slumber and begins to sell to the public the devious content of his warped mind, before long the same would become a doctrine for many handling the microphone in various churches and prayer grounds. And this brings me to my question: when will Christians begin to act like their fellows then at Beroa, whom we are told wouldn’t just buy into anything sold them as gospel, but would flip open their Bibles to confirm the truth for themselves?
What is the message I am trying to convey here? The call is as evident as it is exclusive to many a Nigerian gospel preacher. The madness ongoing in the Nigerian Church today is becoming quite terrifying. The extent of Marmon worship in the Church, deceit, and wickedness against the poor is increasing petrifying, and the outcome of this evil, in the nearest possible future if nothing was done to curtail it, may be everything but positive!
The truth is that Jesus will not recognize the church in Nigeria in the form it exists today. It is a house of commotion and one hanging on the precipice. It is a house filled with hypocrisy, greed, fraud, hate, lies, pretensions, paedophilia, adultery, fornication, consumerism, and everything else that the Lord Jesus Christ preached against. Thieves and rascals are ordained as ministers in various quarters and in turn, the same offer fellow thieves the front seats in church, introduce rascality to the hitherto coolheaded sheep. Recognition is accorded based on the size of one's tithes and offerings; and the sheep are told they would be cursed by God if they are not regular at paying their tithes and giving high currency offerings. The teaching now is that prosperity and well-being are determined by how faithfully members pay their tithes and offerings; and one is not permitted to give such to the poor, the widow, or the orphans around them, but exclusively to the avaricious minister. I wonder where in Scripture they get that.
To make matters worse these same sheep pay thousands of the devalued Naira to gain access to their supposed shepherds; even, the present effect of the Buhari Poverty-generating government does not move these greedy lots to compassion. I wonder whom in the world these scoundrels take after, the same Jesus of the Bible, who out of compassion would often give everything to satiate the hungry sheep, or perhaps there is another Jesus? The trend now is the race to acquire private jets and private universities, and to out-do one another in accumulating worldly possessions; and this is at the expense of their sheep, which skinny looks show how dry they’re being milked. The amount of material possessions that one has is now perceived to be an indicator of God’s approval of the person’s ministry, or one's spiritual health. It was the famous Emma Ukpai who was once quoted in the media as saying that poverty in a minister’s life is an indication that such a one is not called by God. Literally speaking, the man is saying that God didn’t call St. Paul and other apostles who were not owners of private ships in their own time. Well, this big man’s fruit was made evident during the last general elections in the country, as I witnessed one of his baloney shows live here in Onitsha.
The Nigerian church does not represent the poor. In fact, the present crop of preachers in the Nigerian Church of today, especially of the prosperity-preaching kind actively dissociates themselves from poverty and poor people. You do not hear them talk about the poor state of education or healthcare system in Nigeria. You do not see them stand up for human rights or lead protests against policies that punish the masses but reward thieves. Rather than speak truth to power they collude with corrupt politicians to defraud the masses and profit themselves. It would be interesting to know what Jesus thinks of these clerics whose conduct is quite frankly indistinguishable from those of the Pharisees and Sadducees that He described as "brood of vipers" in His days.
The growing level of muck in our Churches is becoming outrageously out of proportion. And for the purpose of clarity, I wish to re-echo again that if nothing was done to curtail these ills ongoing in many a Nigerian Church (please this is without reference to any denomination), then a time will come, and it is very soon, when Christianity would be viewed as a religion of fraud and as a result majority of those professing Christianity today would return right back to worship as God their respective ancestors’ gods. God bless you!

Follow The Rules And Get Your Success

REV.BR. KENNETH CHIGOZIE ALAMEZIE, BSS
08068397124

Although this may prickle quite hard the ears of some churchy folks, yet I don’t mind saying it anyways. Many will be disappointed to learn, when they get to heaven, that what their preachers, supposed shepherds had sold them in churches or Christian gatherings as gospel messages are but gullible messages of horrible self-sent, self-serving messengers, accursed children indeed, according to Gal 1:7-9. This is not in any way an attempt to discredit any preacher. I haven’t got that sort of time. Instead, the Scripture is there to do that just very well.
Against what we hear people propagate these days as gospel, which tend to put the cart before the horse, the true gospel, according to the Scripture, is all about God's grace made available in Christ for the whole of creation and which aim is, first, to give salvation to all who'd believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that ‘whosoever believeth in him’ should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved (Jn 3: 16-17), and to unite all things in Christ at the set time, “Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: That in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him” (Eph 1:9-10). This is powerful and hope-evoking, isn’t it? One day we’re all going to experience a unified heaven and earth, where the saints are going to be in power, “And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth” (Rev. 5:10). I sure love this; and I don’t care what your take is on this. For all I care, God has said it and it’s going to happen just as He said it would. And I believe this promise isn’t meant for then alone, but both for now and then. Isn’t this beautiful, what salvation offers us?
And this salvation is a holistic one, in the sense that it embraces all facets of life of the saved person. Yet it should be noted that it is of paramount importance to God the reign of His kingdom in Hearts of men just as He wants it on the earth, “And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said…Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:20-21), “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”(Matt 6:33).
From this we can deduce then that any gospel that tends to put first what should come second, that is, putting acquisition of earthly needs and wants before salvation of the soul (which is being born-again and receiving the kingdom, reign, of God in one’s life) is devoid of God's support. Am I preaching another gospel here? No! Indeed, you don’t count two to count one; rather you count one to count two. Though, I must admit this applies only to sane folks, as any mad man can even jump to five and start counting from there and nobody would care because he’s insane. Now, isn’t this where we get it wrong in most messages being preached in churches of today? I bet it is!
The people are fed with the wrong kind of food, poisonous and capable of destroying their spiritual growth hormone. Little wonder too many are spiritually dead while others are but spiritual peewees, akakpos! You don’t seek the kingdom last, rather Scripture says you seek it first, period! And it is when you begin to seek the kingdom first that you get prosperity trailing you. That’s the rule; and sadly one we’ve failed to apply.
Brethren, I wish you tear off that spiritual bandana blindfolding your spiritual eyes. Flip open your Scripture and find this truth out for yourself. Believe me It will shock you to know that those selling you this other gospel, whether it be the one of Prosperity before Salvation, death for perceived enemies, which is Boko Haramic in nature, or otherwise are merely conning you of your belongings, as the so-called prosperity message centers mainly on one thing-- tithe payment. Believe me, if folks would today stop paying tithe in churches you’d see many of these con men in their true nature. You might even get some of them return to Upper Iweka to their original business of phone/bag snatching and all that.
It baffles me that although this issue of tithing shouldn’t be made a law as it has become one today (for people are now brainwashed into believing that if they don’t pay in full and constantly their tithe they’d be cursed by God, which has made some to be complying not from their heart, but out of fear as though they are still under the law), given that the practice belongs to the Jews to whom the law was given,” Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law, that is the Jews” (Rom.3:19)yet it has become the gospel of so many a minister in the church of today.
But Jesus never said that was the criteria for material blessings, and I am yet to see a place in the NT where it is categorically stated that such is the principle for prosperity. Rather Christ gave us two, seeking first the kingdom and giving from the heart, which to the best of my knowledge the apostles maintained throughout their earthly ministry. These two are very clearly spelt out in Mathew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and ‘all these things’ shall be added unto you” and Luke 6:38-39, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; ‘good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom’. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again” (emphasis added). Thus, you only need to seek first the kingdom my friend and you’ll actually have all other things on your trail.
This is evident in the whole of Scripture, both in the Old and New Testaments, and they that wish to serve God and not their own selfish course, they that wish to speak the mind of God and not their own misguided beliefs, which often are borne out of what they learn from people revered and esteemed by society as God's mouthpiece even when obviously they are not; they that wish to represent Christ and glorify His name and not themselves and their names, they that have the sound spirit of Christ and not the foreign spirit from Lucifer, which will often appear as the Spirit of light to deceive uninformed, greedy folks, would not want to trade this truth for paltry gains. God bless you.

sorry dear, but the mere fact that you live in a world that you know nothing of its formation, that you were once but a tiny fetus which has grown into a full fledged man, perhaps the reason you find it easy to insult your maker, that you will die someday unknown to you, that you don't understand anything about how the world really came to be and runs its course, that you are alive even when you haven't any meaningful contribution to it, that you don't see the Supreme Being, God, whom you ignorantly deny His existence, that you accept the existence of infernal spirits, that you feed on what you never brought to being, that you never had to choose your parents or place of birth, that you must breathe in air and let out same to live, that you are ignorant now yet may get wiser sooner, that the Sun, Moon, and Stars have not ceased in carrying out their duty from day one, that....I could go on and on...unquestionably shows the existence of a GOD who loves you more than you even love yourself.

ETERNITY A MUST: ARE YOU SET FOR IT?

Rev. Br. Kenneth Alamezie, BSS
kcgalamezie@gmail.com

Stirred up in my spirit to receive from the Spirit concerning our voyage under the Sun, especially as regards death and its attendant horror to the human psyche , I was given to realize, via the action of the grace of Him who guides the course of human race by his great wisdom, that Death is the most powerless among the ranks of spiritual enemies of man, having lost its scary power forever.
Death, to those who are in Christ Jesus, is and should no longer be viewed as such an horrifying evil which mere mention of the name throws us off each time. You know, the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ really revolutionized everything, not excluding the reign of Death.
Death, having received a devastating deadly blow through the one action of Christ’s death on that old rugged cross, was perpetually wounded and conquered, thus destroying his (death’s) horrible power over creation as well as the weird and nerve-racking grip he’d possessed on man, turning now the experience into something far much better--an easy ride back ‘home’.
One fellow, who understood this very quickly, as it were, was the apostle Paul. He never was afraid of him-death. Not lacking in metaphors, he offers us two, or rather three relating to Christian death.
For us, now I do not mean everybody, but anybody who is saved in Christ and who has got the Divine seal in their soul, death is like a day when we will switch our residence. And I can tell you it’s a move to a nicer neighborhood, where you won’t have to be sleeping with one eye closed in fear of terrorists like ISIS, the Boko boys, and all those weird gun-carrying guys parading the east and our society. And you wouldn’t have to worry about rise in prizes of goods, either. I bet you it’s going to be freebies all the way.
Death is also like shifting from a state of unclothedness to putting on clothes. Now I can tell you that this clothing is not like anything you’ve ever seen or can imagine. You can understand this by reviewing that statement from the same brother, Paul. He got a picture of this and unable to find words to describe what he saw, he puts it this way, “eye has not seen, ear has not heard, neither has it entered the heart of man what God ( I’d like to add ‘the kind of clothing, home etc) has prepared for those who love him. You sure don’t want to miss this, or do you?
Looking at our Scripture verse above, Paul gives us the third metaphor, ‘death is like going home. I can tell you I like that word ‘home’. You know, a saying goes that “East and West, Home is the best. I don’t know who said that, but it’s just the truth. No amount of treat given you elsewhere would make you feel as safe and relaxed as you’d when in your own home. Here isn’t home, not at all; and I think that’s why we are constantly living on our toes. Our home is over there at the other side of life. Now, if I may ask, are you preparing to get back home, seeing how fast the clock is ticking? This is surely a one million dollar question, and perhaps one that you don’t always like being thrown at you, isn’t it? But you just have to bear with me on this one. The truth is that you must leave someday, and your soul must spend eternity at the other end of life, only that you do not know when, but where is what you must decide now, and very fast, as time, they say, waits for nobody. You can’t stay here for long, you know. Scripture says 70, and 80 for strong folks. Yet you might as well get 40 added to you making it 120 and it would be time to leave. I have seen oldies who made it to that length. Unlike the western world, which recently published a false news report that claimed the oldest man in the world died at 117 or there about, we get old folks making it to 120 and above often here in Nigeria. And that’s despite our mangled government and rollercoaster economy. My maternal grand dad even left at 120yrs. He got forty added to him. That’s not new to us, or is it? Still they left, as you and I will. This is a hard pill to swallow, isn’t it? The type that those bolshie Jews of Bible era would call “a hard saying.” But it’s better told than not!
The point I am trying to drive home here is this: that you haven’t got any time left to waste, and the sooner you begin to straighten up things in your life, the better for you.
Even, folks now make a joke out of the warning of Christ’s second coming. Someone, an oldie, actually asked me, very recently, if I’d go put a ladder for Him—Christ-- to climb down from heaven. And this isn’t a lay faithful who made such a ghastly remark on our Lord Jesus Christ. Of course, many yo-yo Christians have started buying into this kind of stomach-turning idea, though made in Hell. They seem to forget that even if the world does not end in one’s lifetime in a cataclysmic judgment, the moment any of us dies will be the end of the world for him. The world that you live in will die with you, hence are you ready for death? Are you ready for the judgment that you must face once you step out into eternity? God bless you as you think this through.

GOD'S MANNER OF COMMUNICATION

God speaks to you when you quit speaking ill of yourself and begin to believe God in all He says about you. He speaks for you when you don't speak for yourself but believe in His ability to defend your cause. He speaks through you when you empty yourself of all other nefarious foreign voices clamoring to use your vocal cords to advertise their frowsty activities cum businesses. He speaks with you when you speak as He speaks, in line with His words. So, speak with God, for God and by God's name and watch every spoken word of yours come alive!

WHY WORRY?

Worry has never and will never solve any questions or problems of life, but instead will always compound them and put the individual worrying en route to the doctor's office door. Never give in to worry, but be wary of hurry--the parlous trolley that carries worry....Rev. Br. Kenneth Chigozie Alamezie, Bss

Religion / Man In A Puzzled World... by ken2015: 11:10am On May 25, 2016
Man in a puzzled world

We live in a puzzled world, where almost each individual has and or wants to make ideologies about life as is suitable to their mental state, and level of exposition, hence making it quite difficult for some simple minds to tell between what's real and what's not, what's eternal and not.
In his curiosity to know beyond the now, man wants to comprehend the fact behind his actual fountainhead and fate. Believing he is a transient being, he sure wants to know his final destination.
And this has resulted in a sudden avalanche of bizarre theories about man's existence on this side of the planet and his consequent end, majority of which are complicated and somewhat complex in nature, bombarding humanity from virtually all sides, to the detriment of myopic eyes, thirsting tongues, and truth-searching minds.
In the light of this truth, curious minds, in every age, have not ceased to ask this one pertinent question: how can one know the actual truth behind man's voyage in this rough, uncertain corridor of life-- earth?
Yet, the truth remains that whatever truth that one wishes to know about life on earth, vis-a-vis religion, relationship with other men, and the fate of man, is written boldly right in the bosom of every human being, and in the Holy Writ.
I've come to realize that, in truth, the voice of every man's heart, which also is their conscience, more than often speaks in absolute correspondence with the voice of Scripture.
These two are the only voices there are that have always agreed and will certainly stay in eternal agreement, speak eloquently to man about the truth he so desires to know.
Thus, always listen to the voice of your conscience and the gracious one of the written Word of God in Scripture, if you so wish to sail safely across life's tumultuous sea.

2016 FATHERS' SUNDAY CELEBRATION: CELEBRATING THE PILLARS OF OUR FAMILIES
Rev. Br. Kenneth Chigozie Alamezie, BSS
But for the sudden hellish attack of the killer Fulani Hell’smen at Nimbo, few weeks ago, which really prompted a diversion on this column, this article was in point of fact meant for the Sunday that marked this year’s Fathers’ Day celebration. Nevertheless, no time, they say, is late.
Father's Day is a celebration honoring our Dads and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. Words cannot sufficiently describe the role of fathers, as expected by us their children and gift of fatherhood in a society such as ours where violence, crime, and terror reigns supreme.
To this end, I wish to express here, in letters, my heartfelt appreciation to our fathers—by this I actually mean those who are truly fathers and not the cocky folks (sons of Cain, it appears) amongst them parading as such, as well as give my take on fatherhood as I perceive it. May God bless and keep our fathers.
You know, without our first father’s participation in God’s creation, I think this side of the planet could have remained uninhabited or rather inhabited by animals alone. Therefore, aside the gift of salvation, the other best thing that I believe could happen to any human being on earth is having a good father in their life. Indeed, nothing can match up to it. The experience is one that is simply out of this world. Ask those who are privileged to have it, and they will tell you better. Yet, on the other hand, the most horrible thing that could happen to any living soul is having a bad father in one’s life. Hmm! It is worse than death itself, yes! The experience is only next to living in Hell fire. I know you might want to ask if I had been to that godforsaken place before. Of course, NO is the answer; and by God’s grace I’ll never visit there any time after here. But we all know that Hell is considered the worst place to experience, and in this case I deem it the only fitting picture that can match up to having a bad father in one’s life.
In every family the father, as we know it, is the pillar of the house. This is no mere aphorism, as it is plain truth; and I don’t think any sensible folk would want to argue this out, either. Nevertheless, we cannot fail to acknowledge the reality that such is no longer the case in most families of today, as there are families now where you find that the father is nothing but mere figurehead—occupying the prestigious position but denying the responsibility associated with it. And experience has shown that in such families as we’ve just mentioned the very thought of a father as the pillar of the house easily provokes the children there to fury. The truth of what I’ve just said is not hidden. Yet those who are in doubt can as well go dig out the truth for themselves.
My experience on this so far tells me that there is urgent need for radical sensitization of the public, the youth not exclusive, as the male folks among them are also prospective fathers, regarding the very meaning, entailment of ‘fatherhood’. This in no small way will help to forestall foreseeable collapse of many a family/family values both at present and in future, secure the future of (and for) our children who themselves are at the receiving end of whatever be the consequences of bad parenting. Those who are truly fathers have a role to play in this regard. First, they should start this with their male children in their respective homes, imparting them with insightful teachings on fatherhood. The Church also has a huge role to play here. I think the CYON and CMO in every parish is a veritable tool for this. Series of seminars gearing towards achieving this end should be made to replace every sort of petty meetings/discussions, which often are summoned just for the sake of it. I believe this, if applied, will benefit the youth in two areas: first, it would help to bring balance to the obviously strong influence of the era on our youth, as well as prepare them for the inexplicable terrain of the marriage voyage. On the side of fathers, this could help the erring ones amongst to comprehend their God-given role in family life, and in consequence retrace their steps, and thereby save their homes from disintegration.
Wrong notion on modernism, which perceptibly is the mother of widespread whimsicality overriding in our 21st century era, has no doubt given rise to this blatant near-uncontainable rascality among today’s youth, the reason many modern marriages are nothing to write home about now. Cases abound, where sheer ignorance on the part of the male counterpart, on true definition cum comprehension of fatherhood, was chief instrument in wrecking the marriage dinghy. This we cannot claim is not telling on us, as it is clearly putting the future of our children and coming generations on the brink.
For me, I see it that the strength of any society can be weighed by the character of the fathers there, while, on the other hand, you can as well accurately predict the future of any society by the character of its youth; meaning that our dads have more than 50% role to play in shaping our future. This should not be seen as trying to come hard on our dads, no; rather my focus here is on how to convey this message as critical, sensitive, and crucial as it is, to this very important people in our lives. Well, for want of time and space, I shall go straight to give my view on fatherhood.
Although some of our contemporary fathers are everything but what fatherhood and the name ‘father’ truly represent --the reason we see many cracks on the walls of many a marriage today-- yet that doesn't negate the very fact that Fatherhood in itself, if well understood, is a blessing, an honor, a precious gift of a sort that deserves deep appreciation.
And this gift, to those it's given, deserves to be seen as an opportunity, a veritable one indeed, to cooperate with God in his beautiful work cum role of shepherding humanity. Also, it ought to be received with joy; utilized with extreme carefulness and every sense of love and gratitude to the Eternal Father.

Fatherhood is a call within a call--a sensitive but richly rewarding vocation within the marriage vocation. It is somewhat an invitation to participate in the redemptive work of Christ, the Redeemer! Really, it is an honor from the Father to the sons of men, equally his sons.
Noteworthy is the fact that this call belongs to sons and not to slaves. It is a task that only men who have matured in the heart undertake, and not for cocky boys.

Fatherhood in the deep sense of it entails more than the usual thought of: a young man going into marriage with a girl, simply because the former's age is ripe for it, and making babies merely for the sake of it. No! I believe it goes beyond that. In fact, such an idea, as spurious and misguiding as it is, should be disregarded, discarded and thrown into the gutters, or better still buried in the deep mud.
You may agree with me that it’s not every man with overblown muscles, some rough bushes on the face, and perhaps a heavy pocket is ripe for marriage, let alone making a good father. Though we cannot dismiss the very fact that any Dick and Harry, as is evident today in our society, can well trick any loose girl of his or her choice and status into marriage, put her in family way, and that way father a child. Of course, fatherhood as we shall see here demands and involves more than this.

Fatherhood as a call involves lifelong learning, adjustment, and commitment, positive mental attitude to every issue within and outside the family circle.
More importantly is the fact that it demands death to self and ego; maturity in mind and heart, deep and total comprehension of family life and the call to fatherhood; selfless living and giving, radical visionary attitude/mentality, profound, consistent attention to God and the family, listening ears, observing eyes and understanding mind, purposeful living, mutual respect and love, limitless tolerance and forgiving spirit, authoritative personality ( that is leadership by example) and not autocratic ruler-ship attitude.
Above all, it involves relentless pursuit of peace, love and steady family prayer life.

A good father is a shepherd and never a king!
He is a priest of the family and never a taskmaster.
He is a teacher and never an inspector.
His shepherd's rod is meant to guide to life and not to strike to death.
His priestly authority empowers his hands and tongue to bless daily his children, and not to curse or provoke them to anger!
His shepherd's hands are there to caress his wife and children with godly love and care, and not to beat the hell out of them at every slightest provocation!
His shepherd's shoes are meant to leave his children a good and lasting footprint to follow, and not to mislead them into error!
Equally, his shepherd's clothes should impress on the young and enthusiastic minds of his children the kind of legacy expected of them to keep. That’s what they are meant for!
But sadly, the 21st century kind of fatherhood is one lacking in almost all the above listed virtues, thus the broken homes and acerbic relationships overwhelming us now. The rise in marriages between boys and girls is really telling on us, no doubt. There is this huge difference between men and boys, women and girls. While the former represents people of mature mind, good sense of judgment and understanding, the latter rather represents those still swimming with the current and being carried along by it. Being immature in mind and unstable at heart, they cannot withstand the pressure associated with the marriage commitment, hence their volatile tendency which always result in divorce and breakups!
As we celebrate our fathers in this year's Fathering Sunday celebration, I wish to use this medium to ask them to please dispose themselves to the true spirit of the celebration, so as to truly make good its meaning. And to those fathers in government who are but petty thieves, may they receive the grace of repentance and be ashamed of their shameful conduct in handling public funds. Also, to fathers practicing all kinds of atrocities in church, whether as clergymen or otherwise, may they come to their senses and retrace their steps, as a stitch in time saves nine.
I'd also like to call on all fathers, and prospective fathers as well, to learn the true way of fatherhood from our relationship with the Eternal Father. God bless us!

Behold, He Cometh With Clouds!

Rev. Br. Kenneth Alamezie, BSS

Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. (Rev. 1:7-cool

The world is growing old and as such is speedily nearing its renewal; meaning that the renewal of all things is at hand. The long foretold Parousia is closer at hand than ever. The age-long story of rapture of the saints, which many have come to believe is but ‘tales of the moonlight’, is already in on us. The fact remains that the biblical allegorical separation of the wheat from the tares is already taking place silently before our very eyes, and soon, yes, very soon the complete picture will play out in full size. The saints are really leaving us on daily basis now although many do not know it, given that the snazzy bandana of the god of this world has actually blindfolded many of us believers, and non-believers alike, from interpreting the patent handwriting on the wall. This is not to frighten anyone, as the main terrifying scene will soon play out quite proper. More than often the truth is better told than not!
This is not about what you think or believe, but about something we cannot claim is not already happening before us. The separation has begun, simple! Only a stupid fellow would hear the truth and still want to argue it out, or take it as one of those usual religious fibs and false alarms. Only an inert thing will hear that something calamitous is about to come up on it and yet will make no move to save itself. And, It is only in the land of fools that people would abandon their burning houses for rat/lizard chasing.
Such was the case in Noah’s era. Those reckless folks preferred rat chasing to penitence. Scripture tells us that God sent his servant Noah, as he does in every era, to preach repentance among his people and warn them of an impending doom. Noah did as the Lord told him, but his prophetic message fell on deaf ears. As stiff-necked as those folks were, instead of heeding the voice of God, they stubbornly went deeper in their revelry and evil practices, frolicking in their escapades at the expense of their very lives. Such is an example of a foolish people, and stupidity demonstrated at its zenith! And who says the same picture is not also playing out in our own time?
The Lord Jesus Christ, warning this depraved generation, says the same thing is going to be the case with this era, hear him: But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be (Matt.24:37-39).
You see, I had written something quite different for this edition, when suddenly this message cum warning came in. Although against my wish, yet I have to write this in this column to execute my job as a sentinel. Actually, I am writing this with little concentration as my heart is still panting within me, making it rather difficult for me to recollect myself from the experience of the vision of Rapture, as was shown to us in the morning of 20/5/2016. Saying this, I know is akin to starting up a serious fire, as some mean Pharisaic folks may want toe the line of their fathers, pick up rocks, and batter me up.
See, for the purpose of clarity, this is not an attempt to claim any self-glory as some injudicious folks might begin to think, upon reading this piece. And I do not think this writer was shown this vision because of any super holiness of life of his, either. Rather, the Lord Jesus Christ can choose to reveal anything, whether apocalyptic or not, to anybody he wishes to show it. He is God and does whatever he wills; and I pray he reveals this to you as well.
In the light of this truth, we therefore wish to bring to your notice the word of warning as was given to us to share with you. But before that, I deem it very pertinent to inform you that your reading this piece at this period is no mere coincidence, but, I believe, a divine arrangement out of God’s love for your soul! If you are already a believer, then this message might be for you to re-examine your life in the light of the truth of God’s word, to know if you are still standing in the Truth or not. And if you are a believing unbeliever, by this I mean those who profess Christianity but are still living in iniquity, holding God with one hand and Mammon with the other hand, then certainly this word should be for you to look inward and tell yourself the truth that only you and God know. For the unbelievers, now I am referring to those who have not at any time received the Lord Jesus Christ into their lives as their personal Lord and savior, this call is surely for them to think twice, as delay, they say, might be dangerous.
The lord Jesus Christ does not force himself on anyone, but will always send us his invitation card, like you are having it now in your hands, thus leaving us with the free will to accept or reject his call: “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me” ( Rev. 3:20)
I have this strong feeling in my heart that somebody reading this piece now might just be looking at his/her last olive branch extended by God, the father. In all, this is a call for repentance from sin. It does not matter your status in church, if you like let hundreds of Reverend this or that be attached to your name. Such does not matter to God. Even, in that vision of rapture shown to us, among those left behind were some of our so-called revered clergymen and women. One in particular, a highly respected fellow in the church, was there in his gigantic mansion beefed up with security personnel, while the saints were caught up with the Lord in the cloud. Also others were busy with their routine pious rituals while the saints were gone. They were left behind in the world alongside many men and women who had neglected the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ to them. What ensued was a time of gnashing of teeth, as weird creatures with marks on their heads, some had a mark each at the back of their necks, roamed the earth, and terrified the whole world.
For want of space and time, we may not recount here in detail all of what was shown us in the said vision. The most important thing here is that we have brought to your notice the message we believe the Lord wants us to tell you! The Lord is coming and his reward is with him, period!
I shall now leave you with this message of Scripture coming directly from the LORD’s mouth: “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy unclothedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent (Rev. 3:13-19). “
If you have not given your life to Christ Jesus, I’d advise you do so whilst there is still time. Confess the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and savior and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and that his death and resurrection has purchased eternal life for you. Confess your sins to him and ask him to forgive you and wash you clean with his redeeming blood. Forgive those who may have offended you. Ask him into your life and make the word of God the standard for your life. God bless you!

Love-life, the only life there is

Rev. Br. Kenneth Chigozie Alamezie, BSS

I have come to realize this one truth about our life on earth: that Mother Nature does not cheat, lie, nor does she fails in her duty of paying her children accordingly.
Overshadowed with a Just Spirit, She is a firm upholder, teacher, and propagator of the principle of sowing and reaping, thus does not slack in giving us in full measure what we rightly deserve.
Her listening and observing children know a great deal about this truth, as she does her teaching in silence but with great love and carefulness, teaching all who care the precepts of successful living.
Do you wish to get your name written in Mother Nature’s good book?
If you wish so, then you must go out of your way writing your name in the lives of helpless and hapless souls, distressed souls, homeless souls, needy souls, bleeding souls.
Her rule is that whatever good thing you want come your, the same you must first send to other peoples way.
So, give positively your time to others when they need it, and you won't lack same when you're in need of it. Lend your ears to others when they need it, and you won't lack listening ears when you're in need of it. Give cheerfully your money to those in need, and your purse won't lack something to give all through your life time on earth. Learn to be always there for others at their time of need, and you won't lack helpers at your own time of need. Bless the erring with good advice, and you won't lack those to minister to you at your time of confusion, even your children. Seek out the unhealthy and help them in any way you can, and you won't lack help at your time of sickness. Be sincere to others in all your dealings with them, and you won't have to worry about insincere people taking advantage of you. For mother nature will always get you genuine souls at every point in time you need them. Leaf life of love, and you won't fear falling out of love. Relate to others in love, with love and for love, and you won't have to bother falling into the entangling net of lust. For where love exists, there you find good reasoning, abounding joy, and beauty; in fact total wholeness, hence giving lust no chance to exist.
Life is good learning it, better living it, but best giving it. Be a giver of life, whichever godly way you can, and you won't have to fear drowning in the life's deep ugly river.
Yet in all that you do, remember to give your best, as better is not good enough. Be driven by love and you will always get the best out of all. JESUS CHRIST reigns supreme...

FULANI HERDSMEN, KADUNA RELIGIOUS BILL, TWO DISINTEGRATION AGENTS TO NIGERIA

By Rev. Br. Kenneth Chigozie Alamezie, BSS
08068397124

" The continued invasion of Fulani herdsmen, a body of more organized Boko Haram and their trainer ISIS members, on defenseless citizenry and the president's rigid stance on maintaining indifferent attitude on the matter, may likely see the entity Nigeria become history in no distant time"
" As El Rufai has shown himself as the contemporary Herod of today, he will not escape the fate of his predecessor. El Rufai's seat let another take!!"

The plethora of issues confronting this country has evidently reached a boiling point, hence deserving now a public outcry. Almost each day awakens us with gory news capable of inflicting nervous breakdown on the already broken citizenry. From every rational point of view, one would not be wrong to say that ‘a flight from the present Nigerian state is the beginning of wisdom’, as that would amount to taking the right step in the right direction. Am I then surprised that even the president himself has not given up processing travelling documents to varied nations of the world, since he took over the mantle of leadership and discovered the mess in the country. I am only afraid that his emergence as president has greatly compounded the woes in the country, against what many of us had thought. And, my other fear is that this pokerfaced president might one day fly to a very distant land and from there write us a lamentation song similar to the one in psalm 137.
From politics down to other sundry sensitive sectors in the country, there seems to be a curse placed on them all by the gods. The religious sector is rather a misnomer, as the segment has continued to generate puzzling and choking smell spreading through the country and beyond, thereby making it a shadow of its true self. Think of the havoc being perpetrated, almost on daily basis, by the monstrous Fulani herdsmen in the name of religion. In fact, I cannot cease to wonder what this country is metamorphosing into, what is likely to be the fate of this troubled skeletal ship heading steadily south. I think this is time for the country’s prophetic papas to assemble themselves again in their usual style of meeting, at least to give the hungering citizenry some fresh cookies. Since the resurgence of the vampires parading in the name of Fulani herdsmen to their notorious bloodsucking job, I have been waiting to hear from some of our ministers, who were regular voices in the last administration. Or could it be that their cookies are yet to form in the supernatural oven?
Presently, terror abounds on every hand. The Fulani herdsmen it appears have sworn an oath to make the country uninhabitable. Now, not a day passes without these wanderers appearing in the news for committing bloodcurdling evil against humanity. Power the say intoxicates and I have no doubt in my mind the nomads are already intoxicated by it.
There is no doubting the fact that the menace of Fulani herdsmen in this terror-ridden confluence entity of a country has indeed metamorphosed into blatant pachydermatous killing of unsuspecting defenseless fellow citizens since the Buhari-led ship set sail, taking thus their atrocious escapades to a rather strategic sharp rise with impunity. This is not an attempt to accuse or rubbish the image of the helmsman, who also doubles as their fore kinsman. I am afraid his indifferent body language and attitude to these brazen violent acts of this set of ruthless nomads may before long help see the situation snowball into a full-fledged bloody ethnic combat, which in consequence may result in the nation's disintegration.
Earlier in the week, the Fulani herdsmen struck again, and this time not in Agatu village of Benue State, but in Ukpabi, Nimbo in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State. According to media reports, scores lost their lives to the hellish invasion of this group of people I would rather describe as hell’s men, while almost all the inhabitants of the community fled their homes for safety. And the president is watching! Yes, Mr. Muhammadu Buhari is perhaps enjoying the scene of this action (war) movie that he and other northern elites are seeing. It is always the case that people enjoy war movies the most when their favorites in the show are beating their rivals black and blue. This is not to describe the once Army General and his northern compatriots as warmongers, yet their general approach so far to what is playing out in the country does not suggest otherwise. It is now left for the president and those concerned here to prove themselves otherwise, by calling to order their kinsmen, the Fulani herdsmen.
I totally condemn the atrocious and monstrous escapades of these wanderers, and I wish to use this medium to call on traditional rulers, southeast governors and elders, Church ministers, and all the relevant agencies and stakeholders in this region to come together and proffer ways to address this mess once for all. It is time we get this evil rooted out of our region, as it is not hidden the intention of this Fulani herdsmen. Evidently, we are facing a non- gradual, systematic but ruthless Jihad enforcement, and if we fail to act now, give this evil a prompt, radical response that it requires, we may risk being treated like the Syrian Christians in no distant time!
On the other hand, the Kaduna State governor, Mr. El Rufai has been in the news, for some time now, for the very wrong reasons. This once FCT minister, who blatantly spent a great deal of his time and energy, during his time as the FCT Minister, pulling down people’s structures with recklessness in the name of giving the FCT a facelift, has returned back to work, and this time is hell-bent on pulling down the Christian faith in Kaduna State. The bony governor should please understand that I am not here to bad-mouth his already mud-bathed personality, as he once did to my Lord Jesus Christ, but only relating my view on matters arising in the country.
His recent parochial and primordial attitude to religion and religious affairs in the state, vis-à-vis the content of the obnoxious and wanting Religious Bill passing hearing in the state’s house of assembly portrays him as one highly biased in reasoning and thick in nature, although he is said to be a learned fellow. I understand his take on Christianity, which in essence confirms his myopic personality. Again, this is not to cast slur on the person of the self-acclaimed foresighted governor, who many have described rather as unreasonably rigid.
The controversial Religious Bill in Kaduna State, obviously one that could pass for a litmus test for some northern governors, has kept tongues wagging, fuelling thus the tension already in the country. It is a pity the governor has maintained a somewhat indifferent attitude on the matter, refusing to take into account what disastrous effect it could generate in the state. It is only in the land of fouls that people leave behind their burning houses for rat chasing. The state in question already has many besetting issues to deal with, which leaves me wondering why El-Rufai and his lieutenants in the state’s house of assembly would ignore critical issues that deserve their immediate attention cum arrest for inconsequential but threatening matter--like the controversial Religious bill,. Perhaps they want to start up an ethno-religious crisis which fire may be too hot for them to handle when it is fully blown. If the governor knows he cannot handle the neck-shrinking burden of governance in the state, he should then be man enough to boldly admit his incompetence and tender his resignation forthwith, instead of using religion to cover up his lack of skill.
With every sense of profound respect, I dare to ask you, Mr. El-rufai, to let me use this medium to jog your memory a bit.
First, Mr. El-Rufai you were not elected governor to go into battle with the poor masses that got you the sofa in which you are now reclining.
Mr. El- Rufai, you must appreciate that the secularization of the Constitution of Nigeria does not permit you or any other religious bigot to invoke your indirect but systematic religious preference over another in a state where hitherto has enjoyed freedom of worship.
Mr. El-Rufai, you of all people should know better that the Nigerian Constitution does permit freedom of speech, and worship, the reason I keep wondering why you and your lieutenants have come up with such draconian attitude and move to clamp down on the Christians in the state. The world is watching; but most importantly, God himself is watching!
Mr. El-Rufai, I want to believe you are not lacking in knowledge vis-à-vis the entailments of democracy in democratic government as is being practiced by Nigeria. Hence, your systematic move to employ and enforce an autocratic government in Kaduna State, where freedom of speech and worship would no longer hold, is but a blatant disregard of the rule of law and outright tarnishing of the image of democracy.
Mr. El-Rufai, as the Chief Security Officer of your state, I believe it is your duty to protect your people from harm’s way, provide for their needs, listen to their complaints and enforce their will and never yours, take proper care of them in every possible way, irrespective of the religious divide existing in the state, and not to engage them in a combat as though they did wrong voting you in as governor.
Mr. El-Rufai, the world knows that your controversial religious bill is an infringement on the constitution. If you are truly fighting terrorism and extremism, as you have claimed, you do not need to clamp down on the freedom of speech, thought and freedom of propagation of thoughts, all of which foster democracy, and which liberty are enshrined in the constitution.
In the light of this truth, may I dare to say that am afraid you have failed woefully in your duty; and there is no doubt about it! For instead of doing the needful, looking for ways to stem the tension in the country from spreading in your state, it appears you have rather relentlessly kept your mouth near the ember, fanning it to make sure it blows out of proportion.
My dear El Rufai, I wish to leave you with a pronouncement, and folks should please not view this as fighting authority: El Rufai as you have shown yourself a sworn enemy of the church of my Lord Jesus Christ, the Herod of our time, YOUR SEAT LET ANOTHER TAKE!!

2016 Mothering Sunday Celebration: Celebrating The Creator's Co-Creators
By Rev. Br. Kenneth Chigozie Alamezie, BSS

“A poor but truly praying mother/wife is a precious jewel of a sort, as she is indeed a virtuous woman. Her unique worth is incomparable; and incontestable is her inimitable feminine power cum ability to get a miracle out of a miserable situation; hence, she is also a game-changer. She is very much better than a wealthy father/husband, as her beautiful roses sent into heaven for her kids could easily shoot in them the midas touch, whereas a father whose pocket is heavy with gold but who doesn’t know how to send some beautiful lilies (prayer) up to heaven may end up turning his kiddos into freaky birdbrains!”
….. Br. Kenneth Chigozie Alamezie, BSS
Mothering Sunday celebration is one of the Church’s celebrations that have gradually gained massive applause by virtually all in Christendom today, and that is regardless of our existing petty doctrinal differences. On my side, my view of the celebration does not differ, either. And today I am going to state here something I have not given up repeating over the years-- since I was a lad-- and which I have had no regret whatsoever saying. Want to know what it is? Yep, I guess. Well, the thing is this, “that mothers are and will always be my favorite anytime, anywhere, and any day!” Yes, I guess I’ve really raised some dust. Perhaps some fathers reading this piece now might be wandering what sort of fellow is talking in this manner, possibly out of jealousy. Well, that doesn’t change a thing, as I would still repeat what I have just stated here even if you woke me up from a sleep. I have my reasons, though, which I may not include here for want of space. I hope that in future my bios would contain them. Yet, I’ll go straight to pen down a few points about mothers that make them exceptional.
Think about this:
To mothers the Creator has given the capacity and profundity of participating with Him in the creation of new life. Simply put, mothers are co-creators with the Creator, thus they are a gift from the Creator to humanity for continuity.
To them the Creator entrusts the care of every precious soul right from their very beginning in the womb, making thus their womb a paradise of a sort. No wonder babies cry a great deal when the time comes for them to leave that home of ‘seventh heaven’.
To them God has given the great privilege and responsibility of being a child’s first governess and spiritual guide; needless, then, to doubt their very enormous influence on their children.
Without downplaying the explicably powerful presence and unquantifiable work of our guardian angels, mothers undoubtedly remain the physical guardian angels God has given to every one of us.
To them God has given the power to give life as well as nourish and nurture it to maturity. Yet even at maturity, in some cases, they would not give up caring for their children, even the stupid ones among them.
To them God has given a heart that loves as His own, a heart that feels what others feel.
To them God has given the rare power to understand even the silence of a troubled soul, an attribute they share with the Creator himself.
To them God has given the power to see beyond the curtain of the physical into the remote world of a child’s future, thus their ability to foretell accurately what a child would become.
To them God has given the propensity for building and replicating a rather paradise atmosphere in the family, the reason they remain not the head of the family but the (engine room) heart of the family.
To them God has given the rare gift of surviving any give condition, no matter how acerbic it might appear.
In them lies the power to build or to destroy. You can find this out for yourself if you so doubt it.
They are the beauty of God’s creation; the wonder of the Creator’s masterpiece.
Every man who finds favor with the Creator receives a mother—like the Blessed Virgin Mary-- as his wife and jewel, whereas the contrary is the case with those that despise the lord. They get a ‘lady’—as can be seen in Jezebel or Delilah—instead.
The Church somewhat depends on mothers for her survival, as it lies in their hands to make or mar the domestic Church, of which the latter actually makes the former.
In them lies the power to effect change of any kind—though excluding the Buhari’s kind of change-- as they are the true agents of change.
With them lies the control of any society, to better it or not, as they are the first spiritual guides of every tomorrow’s leaders.
Only children who are but mere simpletons, morons may possibly not understand the value of their mothers, or despise them. Yet only the love of God to man can outclass the love of mothers to their children.
Only husbands who are but descendants of the cruel Cain may well raise their smutty murderous hands on their wives—I mean those who are truly mothers, and not the freaky daughters of Delilah.
Prayer for mothers
Loving God, Father of all graces, I beseech you to strengthen and bless all mothers, especially those of them suffering excruciating pain of crushing family burdens, considering also now that the sharp rise of dollar at the parallel market has affected virtually the prices of all commodities in the market, thus compounding their woes.
As our mothers give life and nourishment to their children,
so I beg you to give them long life and spiritual refreshment to nourish them continually. Watch over them jealously as you would your Church.
Bless with abounding grace these beautiful souls you have given us as mothers and guides, that they may take after the Blessed Virgin Mary in all things, as she is a true symbol of a genuine Christian mother, hence a compendium of holy virtues and encompassing beauty.
Let the example of their faith and love shine forth, seeing what overwhelming influence they command on their kiddos. For those of them in politics that have followed bad examples, walking now in the way of looters and looting with reckless abandon the nation’s near-empty treasury; outdoing even their male counterparts, who taught them the evil trade, may they turn a new leaf by adopting metanoia. As some of them have started returning their loots already—like the cancer-stricken ex minister of the liquid gold, who reportedly has brought back in dollars an equivalent of #27 trillion—may you bless their move. Also touch others whose feminine hearts have long become like brass, given to their involvement in fraud, to bring back to the nation’s purse all their loots. Inspire in the hearts of those whose husbands are thieves, callous thieves, whether they are temple thieves, national thieves, or otherwise, to urge them to desist from such disgusting trade and return their loots to the nation’s purse.
Give to the wife of our president, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, sufficient wisdom with which to help her scrupulous but clueless husband pilot the nation’s troubled ship to a safe port.
Grant that we, their sons and daughters, may honor our mothers always with a spirit of profound love and respect.
I remember also all mothers who have passed over to the great beyond, through this year’s Mothering Sunday celebration may you grant them eternal rest, and to their children give a heart to trust in the maternal love and guidance of our Blessed Virgin Mary
Give to all pregnant mothers the favor for safe delivery devoid of any complication. Bless also those childless mothers asking you for their own babies. Grant their requests and make their joy complete.
Assist all "spiritual mothers,” those who, though they may have no children of their own, nevertheless selflessly care for the children of others -- of every age and state in life. Grant that they may know the joy of fulfilling this motherly calling of women, whether in teaching, nursing, religious life, or in other work, which recognizes and fosters the true dignity of every human being created in Your image and likeness.
Watch over every mother who is with child, strengthen her faith in Your fatherly care and love for her and for her unborn baby. Give her courage in times of fear or pain, understanding in times of uncertainty and doubt, and hope in times of trouble. Grant her joy in the birth of her child.

We beseech You to send Your Holy Spirit, the Comforter, to all mothers who sorrow for children that have died, are ill or estranged from their families, or who are in trouble or danger of any kind. Help grieving mothers to rely on Your tender mercy and fatherly love for all your children.
Grant this through Christ our Lord, Amen! God bless all mothers, especially my beautiful mother!

Religion / Easter Food For The Soul:christ, Our Peace by ken2015: 11:12am On Mar 26, 2016
Rev. Br. Kenneth Chigozie Alamezie, BSS

Peace of mind is not the absence of war in one’s life--whether it be psychological war, spiritual war, economic war and other sundry wars we face on a daily basis--as it is having the constant consciousness of the presence of the Prince of Peace--who alone can tame with his words our varied wild life’s challenges and respective stormy circumstance.
Christ is our peace; thus by every implication this means we should not expect to have true peace in a chaotic world such as ours, outside Our Peace—Christ. There are issues in life that are indisputable as they are non-negotiable, and this, unarguably, happens to be one of them.
It is rather disastrous trying to sail through life’s tumultuous sea alone. There are bound to be times when the sea will roar, when the wind will beat harshly against your boat, when the Leviathan—that sea monster—will rear its monstrous head against you, when the lightning will flicker from the dark sky, descending with rage that seems to frighten even the harmless stars, and when folks (co-travelers) will lament against you as if you are the architect of your own misfortunes. And there are still other times when you will have to wage the battle against yourself—of course this where the real battle lies. For history is full of inspiring tales of men and women of astute behaviors, who successfully waged many a battle of varied sorts, save for the battle of the mind—that is, the battle against their very selves.
This is actually, where and why we need Christ, the author and finisher of our faith, the credible potter cum porter of our respective lives, the great architect of our collective existence, the anchor of our individual life’s dinghy, and the Way to Light and Life.
Brethren, it is not in doubt that without our Lord and Savior Jesus Chris in one’s life’s liner-- without the consoling presence of him whom the elements obey, in your yacht--your life’s boat, no matter how perfectly built it may appear, even let it be like the great Titanic ship, or how shrewd you may think you are in paddling it, is bound to hit the iceberg, or swallowed up by the Leviathan.
Don’t get it twisted; this is just the reality of life. Christ remains the One through whom we came to be, and in whom we live, move, exist, and have our being. Thus, life without him is absolute waste of life—in certainty, such is the true meaning of living in bondage, living life of the walking dead!
May this year’s paschal mystery celebration fill you with that peace of Christ that passes all understanding, as you avail yourself of this indescribable grace of God to humanity, amen!
Have a grace-filled Easter celebration.
Religion / The Easter Celebration, What To Learn From It... by ken2015: 4:14pm On Mar 22, 2016
By Rev. Br. Kenneth Chigozie Alamezie, Bss

Although the situation in our world today suggests hopelessness, in the sense that we have dangerously sustained a creepy downward match on the path to ruin, yet not all hope is lost. There is still hope, in as much as we can begin to see situations around us through the lenses of Hope--Christ Jesus, who is our hope of glory.
This is what the Easter celebration depicts. The resurrection of the Lord and savior Jesus Christ is symptomatic of hope shining out of hopelessness, light shining out of darkness, blessing springing up from the debris of curse and disappointment, replacing thus the age long curse of the law, favor taking the place of fruitless toiling, and life trampling death in eternal defeat, etc.
Apparently, ours is a blessed era, knowing we have such a high priest and loving savior as Christ, who offered himself as a sacrificial lamb to God on our behalf, thereby perfecting all things for us.
Thus, the joy of the season focuses on the assurance we have in him of our redemption from the curse as well as our complete restoration, which benefit we are to enjoy both in this world and in the world to come. Yet, these he made possible by his ignominious death on the cross, showing, then the abounding benefits of death and the cross.
For Christ redefined death by revealing through his own death that true and sustainable life can only come via death, which is true death to self. In addition, sanctifying the cross, he has shown us that the cross is the surest path to gaining complete mastery over self, thus leading to self-discovery.
As nobody takes up the cross in order to put up a good show of or with it, seeing that the cross is a symbol of crucifixion, so we are to take up the cross with the sole aim of undergoing crucifixion to self, which is the only way to achieving resurrection to newness of life.
This is paramount given that we are living in a world where speed is king, where moral depravity is being celebrated and promoted, and godly virtues quickly becoming as dung. We are living in a world torn apart by greed and unbridled lust for power and fame; a world where impunity reigns as king, although we claim to be seeking eternal reign with the Just King. Ours is a world marred by violence and abuse, we abuse everything there is to abuse, sex, freedom, authority, wealth, and the list goes on.
In view of all these, in order to make good of the Easter celebration it is our duty, then, to dispose ourselves to the spirit of the season as well as the lesson it carries. It will be vain celebration or mere ritual observance, if we fail to see the season for what it truly is. We are celebrating the resurrection of Christ today because he gave himself up to death some two thousand and sixteen years ago. In the same vein, we are to go all out of our comfort zones, take up our cross, and go meet him at the foot of his own cross to be crucified with him. This crucifixion is no other than crucifixion to self. Likewise, the gain of this kind of crucifixion is no more than resurrection to newness of life. By resurrecting with Christ to newness of life, we get his mark impute in our spirit by the action of the Holy Spirit, who then begins to live in us and through us the life of Christ. This is an entirely new kind of life, where the believer no longer strives to overcome sin, but lives the holy life in the freedom of the spirit, affecting positively those around them with help of the aura of the Spirit in them. God bless you!

Easter isn't a period to throng the markets looking for chickens, cattle, sheep, goats etc., to sentence to death by boiling, as it is that time of year, when we're all expected to embark on that richly rewarding journey of profound personal introspection, capable of revealing to us the true meaning of the celebration. we celebrate the all-encompassing mercy of God demonstrated for our sake upon that old rugged cross, on that hilly Golgotha Avenue, yet we're reluctant, as it seems, to free those whom we've sent to the hang man's noose, one way or the other. mercy triumphs, as it is the sure demonstration of love in it's truest sense. thus, we're called to show mercy to one another no matter what perceived wrong done to us. this we can learn from Christ, who did no wrong yet died for the wrong we'd done and wrongs we've continued to do. we give only what we have in us and not otherwise, hence may we learn, receive from Christ this period the virtue of mercy, which is love in the real sense of it. may we not just walk past through the Church's varied doors of mercy scattered in parishes across the world, but let the truth the ritual represents find a place to sink deep in us,so as to effect positive metanoia in our lives. may God bless us in the holy name of his Son Yeshua Hamashiach, amen!

Love’s Gory Death, The Hope Of Humanity
by Rev. Br. Kenneth Chigozie Alamezie, BSS

Who hath believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? (Ish 53:1)
The report the prophet is referring to here is unarguably one that regardless of its controversial nature lasting two thousand and sixteen years now, if well understood and believed is capable of freeing people from any form of captivity they may be undergoing.
What could this report be, you may want to ask? It is simply this: that the second person of the Most Holy Trinity left his powerful throne in heaven to become a living soul, came down to earth to restore and reconcile humanity back to their creator, via his gruesome death on a tree.
You know, Christ Jesus could have decided not to come, not to tread his holy bronze feet on our soiled earth; yet he came, showing thus his love for the Father as well as the human race. And it is not only that he came to and for us, though soiled as we were--shedding his divinity for us to share in it, and taking up our humanity to heal it as well as teach us how to be truly human--but that this onerous feat he actually perfected once and for all by his death, dying however the gory death which we deserved.
Obedient he was to the Father’s will, yet obedience he learnt through the enormous suffering he endured just for our sake; Man of sorrows, acquainted with grief.
Man of sorrows, acquainted with grief; but, these sorrows and grief he willingly took upon himself; and not for any selfish reasons that he did this, but so that his brothers and sisters, estranged as we were from the Father due to disobedience, might be fully restored to their rightful position in reuniting with Him, the eternally Good Father.
Yet they hid as it were their faces from him; and to this day, we have continued to hide, as it seems, our faces from him, as though he were one despised by God. Such they termed him then—one despised by God. Still we have not behaved differently, either. On our part, it appears we suppose he is one, who merely went to his own death, accidentally escaped the grave’s rotten claws. This we express one way or the other, either by our continued iniquitous behaviors, or by not wholly believing in the complete salvation wrought for us via his scornful but redeeming death on the cross.
Ours were the sorrows that he bore and the chastisement that befell him; Man of sorrows, deeply afflicted! One bruised by God for our healing, one rejected as it were for our peace, scorned by his brethren but never opened his mouth in retaliation, instead he gained us acceptance to the Father by his sorrowful passion endured in silence.
Nonetheless, they thought him to be suffering for his own sins, for speaking blasphemy against God and Moses; and we on our part have scarcely acknowledged what he truly purchased for us by his death. Does it still occur to us the reason he had to taste death, death on a tree? Do we realize he did not just die for dying sake, but because he had to? For only his shed spotless blood could have done what it did, and never our own works or sacrifices, no matter how mountainous they may seem to be. Oh… man of sorrows, one acquainted with grief!
Foreseeing the fate to befall him whilst in the garden, he shuddered vehemently, couldn’t keep erect since his knees wobbled as though dislocated from their joints.
Exiled from the beautiful garden on a Just judgment, the first Adam trembled upon hearing the sentence he rightly deserved; but at Gethsemane, another garden, the second Adam actually shed from the pores of his skin--blood mixed with sweat--healing thus the sweat of our brow. The Just penalty for man’s disobedience was meted out to him at the garden, and likewise the Just price to end it was revealed to the Son of man at a garden. Thus, what started with a tree has to end on the tree.
Ah, that tree of salvation; that tree upon which was wrought the long awaited miracle. That tree of mercy upon which was hung the battered body of the Beloved Son of God. That tree from which abundant mercy radiates that covers the Just sentence, which lust for the fruit of the former tree had brought upon us. That tree which rich grace unifies the whole human race; ah, that tree upon which the eternal sacrifice was made and from which flowed profusely the untainted blood of the lamb—the blood that speaks so much better things than that of the Just Abel’s. Oh, that tree—the Cross-—which saving power supersedes the one of its prototype erected by the saintly Moses, in the wilderness.
Indeed, great is the sacrifice of his death. Oh, very gory was the death he endured for our sake! His precious body severely wounded for our sins was so much crushed that the picture needed to be left us on Veronica’s scarf. His shoulder, although deeply battered by the heavy wooden tree, could not cease from carry it along that rocky Golgotha Street, and all because of love. Moreover, although exhausted, given to deep pain and thirst, yet he managed to drag the tree along to the Place of a Skull. Oh, man of sorrows, acquainted with grief!
Parched was his throat, which they fed vinegar for water. And his lips? So dried, broken, and soured they were, such that he could barely separate them from each other. Endless hard blows from the hardhearted Roman soldiers, spittle from passersby, disfigured his angelic face, which hitherto had shone with such overwhelming radiance. Scornfully they crowed his kingly head with the crown of thorns, and as a result, blood flowed profusely dampening his stunning eyes. Man of sorrows he is!
All eyes were on him as he hung stark naked on the tree-altar of sacrifice, and this caused his already broken heart to be pierced through by the sword of shame.
His heart that loves bled generously for love, utterly wounded for love. His healing palms, which heal with love, which caresses with love, were pierced through with the long Roman nails and this because of love. Love for his own led him to the grave, although immortal he is. Love handed him the cross and in exchange he handed us the crown. Love handed him a cup filled with vinegar and in exchange he handed us the chalice of his blood. For the sake of love for us, he became a curse, so that we may in turn become a blessing. Love made him taste death, so that we may live in everlasting happiness with him.
The Father’s will it was to bruise him, and that for our sake. The Father’s will it was to heap our sins on him so that we may in exchange receive his righteousness; Although he had committed no offense deserving death, yet to death he was sentenced, death on a cross. Tense was the pain that he actually cried out, ‘’Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?’’
Thus, the Easter period is not merely a time to visit the market in search of chickens, goats, cows, etc to sentence to death by cooking, as it is a time for profound personal introspection with the aim of rediscovering our true selves, the true meaning of life on this side of the planet, and the true meaning of the celebration. This is that time of year when we are expected to free all those we’d hitherto sent to the hangman’s noose. This is the period to explore the true meaning of mercy, for lacking in proper understanding of the term ‘mercy’, apparently can lead to people walking past through the Church’s doors of mercy without mercy actually finding a place in them.
This holy week, may you be disposed to receive beyond your imagination the grace for metanoia, the grace for all-round salvation, and may your life never remain the same. Amen! God bless you!

The Invasion: ARE YOU READY?

Br. Chigozie Alamezie, BSS

There is this sweltering war going on now. A serious war between light and darkness is raging on and the body of Christ is the target. Anyone who has received the Sacrament of baptism should know that he/she is involved here, as we all constitute the body of Christ. So by implication it means that we are the target hence the question—“are you ready? Or are you still getting ready?” Well, may I remind us that true soldiers don’t get ready; rather they stay ready knowing pretty well that they are always the target of their foe.
However, for fear that you may have fallen prey to the spirit of coldness, thus exhibiting indifference to things that matter; my pleasure will be to bring to your notice that the era of relaxation and merry-making is long past as no single genuine Christian is free from attack in this raging warfare. Those of Ceaser’s quarters may not actually bother themselves as their fate is already sealed. But for you still hopeful of the beatific vision in heaven, it is good you know that the battle line is drawn and the clock is ticking; it’s actually some minutes before the set time. There isn’t need guessing anymore. It’s simple: the War is on!
Perhaps you are unaware of what the situation at hand looks like. If that be the case with you, then a little explanation may help here, as it could help to get you strengthened up and maybe that way get you pulled from the sidelines and put you back on the track.
Hitherto it used to be that the sheep would go astray and the shepherds go in search of it. Isn’t it? But what we have now in church is that both sheep and shepherds are running off into the desert, and each seeking not to draw back the attention of the other, but to explore the length and breadth of the desert of sin. This is serious, isn’t it? A situation whereby nobody cares anymore; both sheep and shepherds have gone berserk full time and are even enjoying their pitiable and ridiculous state of bananas with every sense of seriousness. The condition is becoming increasingly disconcerting as it is devastating, considering again the very fact that our crop of today’s shepherds are but deeply divided men with conflicting minds, unsure of their vocation and its implication, whose troubled mindsets are steadied for them by paltry pathetic external enforcers as ephemeral vanities. This same could also be seen even among the wannabe shepherds.
May I say this to you, brethren: it’s either you chose now to make Christ Jesus your model, put on your whole armor and face squarely this daring challenge, fight to the very last this fierce battle and receive the awaiting crown of glory; or you continue pursuing madly the vanities of this life and in consequence stand the risk of losing everything you’ve ever worked for, even your very life.
As earlier said, no genuine child of God is off Satan’s target, yet we know that prime on his list are those saddled with the responsibility of taking care of souls (our supposed shepherds), the more reason they need prayers both by themselves and from others: “strike the shepherd and the sheep of the flock will scatter abroad” Matt 26 vs. 31.
The point is that I cannot tell whether these so-called men of God we have around today know that they are actually the prime target in Satan’s list. I am saying this because the rate of coldness, mad pursuit of ephemeral glories, and lackadaisity abounding among our darling pastors and priests now can only be best described as bizarre! Thus, this brings me to these questions troubling my mind for awhile now: do our today’s ministers know at all of this serious battle going on and the impending doom? Can someone convince me beyond reasonable doubt that our supposed watchmen know the hour in which we are now living? Or has the devil taken from them their spiritual wristwatches and substituted those with shining Egyptian bracelets?
It’s somewhat a shameful thing that a lot of us called to work in the Vineyard, having replaced our Bibles and other spiritual writings with newspapers, and needful spiritual exercises with internet activities following our grave involvement in frivolities, are presently living abreast of every latest technological and scientific breakthroughs, although possessing not even the minutest knowledge of happenings in the spiritual realm; of which the latter in actual ought to have been their very focus of priority. Believe it or not, this is a clear indication that many of us have been captured already and in consequence are now working for the devil even without knowing it, although some are aware of it, anyways. And, some who’ve been, spiritually, badly wounded and displaced, given to their careless living, are now trying to nurse their wounds with what cannot do--heavy indulgence in ephemeral acquisition. This indeed is still a chasing of the wind! The fruits they bear, visible in their manner of living, give credence to the assertion just made. Regrettably, even at this many are still living unwary of the reality at hand--living in constant merry-making like the people of Noah’s era. Seriously, I pity those of us saddled with the responsibility of saving souls who have instead taken to life of revelry, and inconsequential celebrations of different kinds.
Yet the pitiable of all men are the so-called Christians who are merely playing ‘churchianity’ in the body of Christ, especially in this perilous time, and are claiming such to be true Christianity. Many have forgotten so soon the words of our lord to the Samaritan lady ‘’ the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth’’ John 4 vs. 23. By implication what our Lord really means here is that this is the time when mere church-going, lip service and sheer ritual observance, as are evident among many churchy Christians today, will no longer hold tolerance before God. It is either one chooses to worship in spirit and in truth (truth here means reality) or he/she forgets it all. This is one of those statements that one, like the heady Jews of the Lord’s ear, wouldn’t hesitate to call “a hard saying” yet it is better spoken than not being told at all. Soon those of us playing the Ludo kind of Christianity will know what it means to be neither hot nor cold. Because many who now spurn the grace of God by refusing to adopt metanoia, in a very short while will be stripped of their armors and bundled out of the battle ground into utter darkness and pain; and this could take them by surprise.
Shepherds (whether they are Pentecostal or orthodox) who have made merriment, frivolities, materialism, and lewdness their priority thus, have sacrificed their vocations upon the altar of mundanity will soon raise their voices like Dives in regret. Also the sheep are not spared here, for those of us who are hell-bent on running off into the forest of sin will actually have the roaring lion on their trail. And believe me when I tell you that many may not survive the chase. Listen and listen very good, many who now are enjoying their Egyptian cucumber and watermelon, and are frolicking with Pharaoh’s vanities and ladies will in no distant time, if they do not turn a new leaf, have the claws of this ferocious lion stuck right deep in their soul and pulled in the direction of the eternal flames. How terrible it will be! This is not to frighten anyone, no! We are just saying what is inevitable, period!
See, the devil is set and equipped like never before. He has let loose every weapon available in his arsenal and has declared total war on the church. Only blind ministers whose anointing has dried up and spiritual sensors badly severed, would tell you that everything is okay. A closer look at the level of Satan’s preparedness, the sophisticated weapons and tactical plans with which he has planned to unleash mayhem on the body of Christ will seriously make your jaws drop, while you climb back to your abode of prayer and get your knees fasten to the ground. Please, I repeat, this is not to scare anybody but to alert us on the reality at hand, even I am convinced that many who are still up there in their watchtower (alive spiritually) cannot claim ignorance of this fact.
The spate of worldliness in the Christendom today is really becoming mind-boggling, pathetic and indeed problematic. And this is a sure sign of Satan’s invasion in the church. The worship of Mammon has taken over the worship of God, and gradually the desolating sacrilege is crawling up to the holy place!
Presently a massive army is being recruited and equipped, and this time not from outside the church, but from within the church. These are men and women who will leave no stone unturned in doing the bidding of the devil. Their meat is to exceedingly help in carrying out his-Satan’s- wicked purposes against the true people of God. Their targets are the uncontaminated Christians, the serious-minded Christians, to contaminate them and pull them over to their squad. This they plan to achieve through many unsuspecting ways. I just pray that God will enlighten the inner eyes of every true believer to see and understand what callous strategy the devil has put up for this operation. You will know them by their fruits. Holiness of life without which no eye shall see God, to them is not worth a criterion for true Christian living (kingdom life) nor a topic worth discussion among believers. To people like this everything goes in so far they have a cut to make in it. The only message they appreciate is the message of ephemeral prosperity and money-making, gold is their god; and anything of righteousness stings like the sting of a scorpion to their itching ears. Their motto is “it doesn’t matter how you behave or acquire material wealth; if you can’t beat them you join them, God understands.” And truly God understands that they are the children of wrath whose abode is the deepest and hottest part of hell, if they fail to repent! Be on the look-out and guard against people like this. And do not forget that they could even be the ones handling the microphone in your church; and it doesn’t matter what kind of clothing they appear in. As I am talking to you now, the pulpit has become their major base of operation and I repeat it doesn’t make any difference the title they may bear, or the kind of garment they put on. After all Judas was not just an apostle, but a super-apostle so to say yet his heart was never right before God.
This calls for a serious alert on the side of every believer now. I believe that every true believer should climb back into their watchtower; the spiritual gift of discernment should be greatly desired now (if you don’t have it), and put to use like never before. I urge you reader to open wide your spiritual eyes, awaken all your slumbering spiritual senses and pull up your spiritual antenna to receive Divine signals and thus stay ready. As things are now no Christian is advised to get ready, no. we rather are supposed to stay ready and not otherwise. God bless you!

Exposed: Pulpit renegades on the prowl, gluttons, simpletons the target

Rev.Br. Kenneth Chigozie Alamezie, BSS
(08068397124)

Recently, I chanced upon an online report by the Punch newspapers that really got me troubled up in my spirit. Yes, reading the said report got me stirred to write again on this topic I thought I was done with. After writing on some disconcerting developments as are visible today among our so-called pastors, please this has nothing to do with denominationalism here as the condemnable draconian devilish escapades of modern-day church ministers can be seen in virtually all churches today, in the last edition; I had thought that I wouldn’t be writing on similar topic again, at least not in the nearest future. But, I guess I was wrong.
The report made available on February 7th, 2016, by the said online press media once again brought to light the message we had tried getting across with our earlier writing in this column, in the immediate last edition of this esteemed tabloid. Please, this doesn’t imply this writer is somehow feeling elated at the bad news content in the report, although coming barely two days after he wrote something similar. Our main purpose of writing extensively and with absolute bluntness in this column, in our last edition, on the menace of these con artists now occupying the circus stage paradigm is simply to get our good readers informed on the updated modus operandi of these scammers, as can be seen in virtually in all churches; and secondly to remind those ferocious lions in the stinking business of what should’ve been their driving force. The article really got tongues wagging; critics it seemed had a field day as I’ve received a lot of rejoinders (criticisms) filtering in from all corners. And we, however, applaud commendations as well as contrary opinions received so far from our darling readers. Yet, from all indications it seems we may not be giving up anytime soon commenting on developments as it concerns magicians, swindlers, task masters, indeed questionable characters springing up from all corners, and almost on daily basis in the Body of Christ. The fact remains that their continued multiplication in numerical strength and otherwise portend grave danger for all of us in the Body of Christ.
Of a truth there is no bizarre practice or happening in Christendom today that one would say is a new import, yet that shouldn’t be reason enough to undermine, or rule out with a wave of the hand, the very fact that the rate with which con artists and updated magicians are multiplying in numerical strength and tactics, in Nigerian churches today, is really becoming upsetting. The danger is that the real gospel truth would gradually lose tolerance and thus glide into utter oblivion in no distant time--which results would be profoundly calamitous to Church and society--if we so decide to turn a blind eye and behave as though this iniquitous happenings in many a Nigerian church and exclusively among supposed Church ministers cum leaders aren’t worthy of urgent attention cum immediate arrest. I repeat, if the concerned authorities refuse to align themselves, let go of their petty differences, and put heads together to provide precautionary measures capable of curtailing the excesses of tricksters now dominating our pulpits, then it should be noted that Christianity in Nigeria may before long lose its moral worth and in consequence become a thing of derision. We should not neglect the fact that majority of our Christian brethren in this part of the world are but mere simpletons when in it comes to matters concerning the faith, hence can be easily swayed by any fables and old wives tales sold them in the place of Gospel teaching.
I strongly believe we can do something to this effect, both collectively and on individual basis. The time is ripe for each of us, especially those spiritually enlightened folks given to the ministry of the word, to begin speaking out in every way possible against sharp practices of renegades in the Body of Christ with a view to exposing them and their modus operandi. Doing this, I think, will inter alia help in no small way in rescuing our gullible brothers and sisters, who have continued to be prey to the ferocious appetite of these corrupt souls. I know some folks may think this writer is apt to using hard words when referring to fake preachers. Of course, this is true, although I haven’t yet done exactly like my Master, who whipped them out of the temple. The concerned authorities ought to do the latter while I continue with my other little brothers in the ministry, with the former. And God willing, we may devote enough time this year writing, although as the spirit gives us the inspiration, on the atrocious mendacity of many false gospel ministers in Nigeria. The trend is truly becoming quite unbecoming!
The report, according to Punch online, indicted a certain randy figure parading himself as a true man of God. The crook, who was said to be possessing enormous magical powers, was not just in the business of swindling his teeming followers (baby Christians indeed, and that is if they aren’t mere unbelieving believers) of their hard earned money, through his mind blowing magical predictions and hullabaloo demonstrations, but also was in the act of luring the female folks among them to his defiled demonic bed, a situation which led to 7 of his victims being put to the motherhood state by him. Let me quickly recall here literally part of the report captioned “Delta: Reverend impregnates seven church members, two married women” as was given by the said press media:
“A randy man of God identified as Dukes (surname withheld) in Umunede, Delta State who has been accused of sleeping with his church members in the past two years, has allegedly impregnated seven of his single female church members and two married women.
While trouble is currently brewing over the act, it was reliably gathered that the self-acclaimed man of God had also allegedly seduced several young girls in neighbouring communities: Ute-Ukpu, Otolokpo under the guise of providing them with suitors before he moved into Umunede after his cover was blown.
He was said to have been arrested and detained at Agbor Police Station by aggrieved parents of his victims for two days before granted bail.
A member of his church "Light Of God Ministries" Josephine Ogor said, “The self acclaimed reverend uses preaching, choirs and organized youth fellowship to get young girls.”
“That was what he did in Ute-Okpu, Otolokpo neighbouring communities before he moved into Umunede and he was driven away by the elders of the communities, he likes girls of 15, 16 and 17 years he sleeps with,” she added.
Investigation revealed that until some married women started carrying their marital problems to him, the self-acclaimed man of God allegedly known for magical powers, specialises in mind-blowing prophecies for unsuspecting members of his church including some highly placed politicians and businessmen across the state.
His victims, some who claimed they were hoodwinked into sexual intercourse with him via magical powers, Awele John, Marble Ogoan and Rosemary Iwendi said: "Please Mr. Pressman don't use our pictures.”
“The man is fake, he uses magical powers to woo young girls he sleeps with, that was how we fell into his net, and our eyes were opened".
Another victim, a married woman who did not want her name in the print said she had gone to the reverend's house to seek advice on constant quarrels between her and the husband for possible solution when Dukes allegedly gave her anointed oil for her to rub and take from it but this was not to be, when she found herself in love making with the reverend during the night.
She said: "I saw myself having sexual intercourse with the Reverend in my sleep and I was shocked before I made it known to my husband".
You see, as usual women are again the victims of sexual abuse here. A similar case went viral sometime last year involving one ex catechist at Nsukka, Enugu State, whose uncontrollable quest for sex made him a monster. He was said to have imprisoned many ladies among them married women, fathering children numbering almost the size of a community by them.
The reason many of our women have decided to remain obtuse and loose, not minding continued reports of bizarre nature exposing them as being target of sex maniacs and occult men dominating the pulpit, have continued to elude reason.
It pains me in the heart anytime I hear bloodcurdling stories relating how our young ladies are being exploited of their femininity, thereby used as mere object of sexual satisfaction and other various ritual purposes, by some untamed ravenous wolves, indeed unrepentant thieves. Among so many other possible reasons that could major as chief cause, abnormal quest for marriage cum immediate solution to so-called marriage delay, seem to me the most outstanding as to why they—our women--easily fall prey to these leopards. Sadly, even the so-called learned ones among them aren’t exempted from this. On the contrary, it even appears they are the easiest to prey on. Thus my question is: when will our women learn from experience? There is even a story in this newspaper regarding a lady, who was duped N1.6m by an unfussy self-styled spiritualist. The list goes on.
It is easy nowadays to hear them want to cover up their stupidity and insincerity, once trapped in the spread net of these human spiders, by referring to influence of charms and witchcraft manipulation as playing host to their ordeal.
We know this is not always the case but sheer looseness, reckless desire for sudden answers to normal challenges of life and tests. I’ll recall scripture’s stance on this: “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed (James 1:14).
Still, talking about the leopards and their modus operandi, our big brother, Pietro, has this to say: “But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you; Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness. For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error” (2 Peter 2:12-15, 18). God bless you!

Life isn’t fair--I have heard so many people say. The reason for this we cannot also say is far-fetched.
Life doesn’t always go the way we expect, or does it? This makes the wise always want to pray to God for help and guidance. There is this popular saying that reads: “when the going gets tough the wise runs to God,” and actually this should mark our approach as Christians—if we truly are-- to every earthly pursuit.
But sometimes it seems like even though we pray with faith, fast with faith, do all we know how to do with faith, God doesn’t do what we've asked. We seek Him, but don’t feel His presence. We go through pain, but our cries for relief seem to go unfelt, unanswered. Sometimes, our lives just don't make sense. And there’re just about few things here on earth that makes and would make sense to us; others we would have to discover when we get home. Isn’t this why our journey is called a journey of faith, always trusting God for those things, realities they truly are, but which at present are not visible to our mortal eyes.
The young Joseph, although beloved of God as well as by his aged father Jacob, got this kind of objectionable experience firsthand. I believe his travails were chronicled in Scripture for our learning today. I know this because the Angel Raphael, who was sent to bring succor to the much afflicted aged Tobith, a man well known in his time for his unswerving trust in God, as well as his untiring desire to render help in whichever way possible to God’s people, told him—Tobith-- to put into writing everything that had transpired between them, during his rescue mission to Tobith and Sarah, for the sake of future generations. Of course, this is so that we may know and learn of God’s goodness and faithfulness to his own, those called according to his purpose, and thus have faith--encouraging ourselves in the past mighty deeds of God.
Back to the guy in our story; the young Joseph, barely an adult at the time, had received Divine revelations promising he would be the greatest among his brothers. He was sure of what had been revealed to him, even though there were voices trying to shout him down. But, not quite too long, he to whom the promise of greatness was given found himself trapped inside a scary pit, dug by his own blood brothers. Sure, Joseph’s heart could’ve raced many times through his earlier dreams; his young heart would’ve out of fear and dejection bombarded him with thoughts like: “oh, why me, Lord…so this is how it’s all gonna end, huh? How am I even sure those dreams were really pointing to my future, or couldn’t it be that those were some kind of result of a stressful day…or perhaps a kind of insomnia effect?
“Hey, dreamer, quickly grab the stinking rope and come go meet daddy and your nerve-jerking dreams over there in slavery camp,” would’ve been the thought cum words of the brother that drew him out of the pit. That sure sounds much more like the end for Joe. You know, in those days it would’ve been foolhardy to think a foreigner would get a high-ranking position in Egypt, let alone a Jewish slave. But that’s certainly not the case when one is being prodded by the Almighty Hand. God’s favor can do and undo, sure!
Little did Joe knw he was undergoing the pruning exercise required of those to carry greater responsibility as he. Today, the tide hasn’t changed with time, as the same procedure awaits every great man or woman, boy or girl. What are you trying to say, preacher, you may ask? Yes, the same could be what’s happening to you now. You may be going through your own pruning experience now. If you know a thing about pruning, you could as well understand that it isn’t something funny. You know, you’ve got to be there when farmers do same to their plants to know what I am saying here. I’ve come to understand that the greater the responsibility you have, the more pruning it will require to get you trusted with it. Great destinies, stars would always require extra pruning to the carrier. And it is at this period of pruning that it seems to us as though God’s abandoned us, and heaven shot against us.
Sure, Joe also got to that point. I could tell that from his words to that cell mate of a friend, who later got freed and was returned to his tea-serving job: “hey pal, you sure won’t forget me when you get out of this place, would you? (That’s another way of interpreting his plea to that forgetful folk) That doesn’t sound to me like the words of a man still hanging 75% on the faith scale, you know.
But God wasn’t true with him yet. And that explains why that folk quickly forgot Joe’s request upon regaining the king’s gold strapped tea cup. Joe had to experience another painful, traumatic two years in jail. Traumatic because he was there on a false accusation, got wound up just when he thought his cruise liner was sailing safe. Think about it, having spent years in the prison, Joe now came close to being remembered before Pharaoh, at least that his innocence be known, but only to have to face two more years of what we’d call today languishing in jail, and his prayers, cries, and pains kind of all seem not making it to heaven’s gate.
God could’ve earlier given Pharaoh that dream that sent fear down his spine, and which interpretation eluded the skull cap of his council of wise men. But he waited till the young Joe had finished his professional course in the Egyptian Prison University. That sounds funny, huh? But that’s what it is.
Wait a minute; it could be that because you’re still in the second year of your own Egyptian Prison Experience that made it seem as though God has forgotten you, despite your dazzling beginning. Yeah, your seas of bad breaks aren’t certificate of a failed destiny, dream, future, star…no! And they shouldn’t mar your tenacious cum aspiring spirit and effervescence zeal, either. On the contrary, it all shows you’re right on track; you’re being formed for the master’s use; destined for greatness, you’re being groomed under the tutelage, now not of Gamaliel, but of the Teacher, Rabboni himself, and sure greater things are coming your way if you refuse to give up.
Joseph trusted God to bring him to the expected end, the reason he overcame that trap set by the devil, through Portifa’s wife, to get him ruin his destiny by himself. In the same vein, I’d urge you to trust God with all your soul, no matter what, so that you don’t get yourself out of this great plan of God for your life. You can trust me when I say you’re closer to the crown than you’d thought. So, don’t mess around, and don’t mess things up. Distractions are bound to come, but you just have to keep your head straight to avoid being carried by them. See, the least Satan and all his minions could do is to stop your cruise liner from arriving at its port. No matter the storm, if you’d not stop it yourself, then know that you’d as well be sure you’re arriving, and just at the right timing of God, to your own safe haven of a port. Remember, God rules! God bless you!

2016 Prophecy: Hard times await Nigerians!
(A Year of Many Challenges, Surprises, Judgment, Divine Visitations)

Br. Kenneth Alamezie, BSS

The year 2015, here in Nigeria, ushered in not on an icy note; at least we can tell from experiences had in the country, where many Nigerians saw themselves standing on their toes; hearts wheezed so heavily as though enmeshed in a tornado; even, the atmosphere then became filled with that eerie air of trepidation that one can best describe as apocalyptic in nature. In fact, methinks that the kind of wave of terror that swept over many a heart at the beginning of the out-gone year was one without equal, since the amalgamation that brought about this distraught entity called Nigeria. It got to a point that many had no choice other than to relocate their families, at least for safety sake. It is quite unfortunate that some of those who swung into action relocating their families (especially those of them residing in the far away north and west), in a bid to evade the much prophesied war cum disintegration of Nigeria, ended up not really making it back home; but instead meeting their untimely death on their way, they went straight home to eternal rest. Yes, rest from all that the year 2016 has in stock for Nigerians.
The year 2016 is here on us; a significant one it is indeed, as it’s going to witness yet another presidential election of the most powerful nation and the largest economy of the world--the USA. Without mincing words, I’d like to state here that I am already praying that this wind of change sweeping through some countries of the world for some time now, would also find its way to the White House, and its rage help to oust the government of the Republicans and secure the Democrats the throne, at least that way there’d be hope that sanity would gradually crawl back into the system of the country we cannot doubt has powerful influence in virtually rest nations of the world. It’s a pity I had to take sides here, but honestly I don’t think I’d ever throw in my cap for any government, or even the party platform housing it, that favors gay marriage and abortion practices. Those are at best bestial in nature, strange to my faith and religious believe.
Here in Nigeria, we’ve already started seeing tons of prophecies renting the air, concerning the year, from virtually all corners. Sure, the country’s prophetic papas aren’t doing badly in the business. Such is not unlikely in a country where every voice wants to be heard and where the freedom of expression, as give in section 39 of the constitution, is greatly abused with impunity. At the beginning of each year, it appears the country’s gospel merchants seem to all be thrown into prophetic frenzy like we saw happened in Samuel’s own day, when King Saul sent soldiers to Samuel’s abode to arrest the young David who had fled there for safety. Gosh! Whether they bake or fake them—those prophecies-- we cannot tell, although we cannot as well deny the fact that there’re those genuinely occupying that office, the real sentinels. But, it’s a pity that often the latter’s trumpet calls do fall on deaf ears, neglected, counted as bogus, and themselves seen as speaking from both sides of the mouth, out of biasness. Well, such has always been the case. After all even the guy known in his time as the prophet of doom never found it rosy. I learnt he had to, at some point in his life and perhaps out of frustration, curse the day of his birth.; oh, poor old Jerry!
All the same, I strongly believe that we’re all entitled to our respective opinions, the more reason why I’ve chosen here to air my own view concerning the year, precisely as it regards the country in comatose. You could as well term it whatever you feel like… call it prophecy, personal opinion, or whatever. Anyone you choose na you sabi! For all I care I am just a realist, so my prophecy as it concerns the country will base strictly on issues at hand. Let’s now take a look at some of them.
Yes, Nigeria at present is a country hanging on the precipice; a country priding herself as the giant of Africa when in the real sense of it, and judging by every visible fact around us, she ought to be regarded as the dwarf of Africa. Presently, even the country’s name appears to be synonymous to disappointment, hopelessness and helplessness.
It is no more news that even our supposed messiahs are finding things pretty difficult over there at the villa. I could say they have become at best clueless and helpless men, somewhat rabble-rousers. Yes, even the broom we had thought was capable of sweeping off abounding poverty in the country now appears to me an illusion, more or less a party logo. From all indications I think it reasonable and not treasonable to say that Nigeria as a country, in her present state, can only be redeemed by the Redeemer Himself and not by any political party, be it the APC party, the PDP, a combination of both, let alone the one on incubation, and which will soon hatch.
Hitherto the Catholics in Nigeria, as if they foresaw the chaos bedeviling the country now, started praying, with much fervency, a very beautiful prayer captioned, “Prayer for Nigeria in distress.” The pioneers of that beautiful prayer, I learnt it was a brainchild of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, must have had a strong premonition of the future, as their move, even the prayer’s caption in my opinion suggest only one thing: a stitch in time saves nine, period! Yet if there’s ever a time needed for that prayer to be said, by all Nigerians including Mr. President and his lieutenants, and that’s with every diligence, then it must be now. Let it be known to all that the present Nigerian state is one not just in distress, but in utter distress.
Take for instance the 2016 budget. Folks acquainted with this column, especially during the build up to the last general elections, may still remember how this writer threw his weight behind the present broom government; that hasn’t changed, anyway. Yet, the truth remains that if what I saw on the internet as 2016 budget is anything to go by, then it should be noted that something must’ve been really amiss with the much sung change mantra of this government. Considering some of the allocations made, as contained in the budget (that’s according to what I saw on the internet), I’d say that it’s either this government had never had it in mind to bring about the much anticipated positive change that Nigerians yearn, or they knew before hand what sort of change they’re going to give us—perhaps a change from minor poverty to absolute wretchedness, a change to set in motion oil exploration in the north, sort of diversification of oil zones, or a change to change from making shrewd budgetary to excessive, wasteful, extravagant one, as the budget in question suggests. A glance at it--the budget--wouldn’t just almost immediately elicit suspicion; it also suggests insincerity, and the pinnacle of insensitivity of this government to the plight of the governed. For the purpose of clarity, I’d like to present here some bizarre allocations as contained in the budget (according to the one online).
But, before doing that, I’d like to recall here how like a bird—now parrot precisely-- this present administration sung #diversification of our economy, poverty alleviation through job creation/ payment of #5,000 stipend to unemployed graduates( that’s if I am not mistaken), with relentlessness effort during the electioneering campaigns that saw them took over the staff of office. Taking a look now at how allocations were made in the N6.08 trillion budget sent to the National Assembly, one might begin to wonder what went wrong: Is it still the same government that has spent so much time and energy educating us on the need there is to diversify our economy as oil will soon be worthless, that went ahead to earmark a stunning N 39.4 billion for oil exploration in the North as against the paltry N 29 billion allocated for the Ministry of Agriculture? Funny, very funny, isn’t it? Interestingly, the Ministry of Information and Culture, which at best could go for ‘lying ministry’ got a whooping N39 billion as against N9 billion in 2015. And I ask, N39 billion for what! Even as the country is facing serious economic down turn?! I get it; this ministry of propaganda got N 10 billion more in order to equip it for more future hollow propagandas to starving Nigerians and face-saving garbage to be sold the international community, isn’t it? That isn’t all. The ministry of Transportation got N13.7 billion, Ministry of Water Resources, N7.2 billion, and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, N10.5billion, Aso Rock got N18 billion (perhaps to face-lift it to ASO Iron, or something), tyres to be purchased for various vehicles got a staggering N189.1m ( those must be ‘made in the Mars’ tyres, I guess) etc. But wait, the ridiculous part of this whole thing is the budgeting of a staggering N30 million for the purchase of tool boxes, car jacks, and diagnostic machines for presidency's bulletproof cars, and the sum of N27 million goes for the purchase of C-Caution triangles, fire-extinguishers and cables. Hogwash! Nigerians are dying of starvation, accidents as a result of deplorable roads, and some people still have the conscience to allocate such huge sums for the purchase of tool boxes and other inconsequentialities. Where are the ones procured during Jonathan’s regime? I want to believe these allocations are but a farce, a product of online attackers.
Now, I’d like to reiterate here my stance as a realist, before going further to make my own 2016 prophecy for Nigeria and Nigerians.
Therefore, judging by what’s there in the budget, I am afraid to prophesy a time of severe hardship for the citizenry. The budget has shown us that the year 2016 is not going to be a friendly one for Nigerians, period! Nevertheless, this does not mean that God’s children are going to be overtaken in this looming hard time. No! Our God, as we know, delights in providing for his own, especially when in difficult situations such as is going to hit the country.
We’d also like to remind those trading deceit in churches, those religious racketeers, spiritual charlatans, wolves in the Body of Christ, sons of Korah, perverts of the truth, whitewash sepulchers, and hell’s generals that judgment is awaiting many of them this year. This is the unchangeable Word of the True Lord God Almighty for these windy creatures: “Mine heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of the LORD, and because of the words of his holiness. For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right. For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the LORD. Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith the LORD… I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness; they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah. Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land. (Jeremiah 23:9-15)
Let the barren rejoice, for the year will see them leap for joy. At the same time many lost ribs shall be recovered and gathered to their rightful match. These blessings are exclusively for God’s children. God bless you!

MODERN NIGERIAN CHURCHES SYNONYMOUS WITH BABA-IJEBU

Rev. Br. Kenneth Chigozie, Alamezie, BSS

“Set me on fire Lord and cause the world to come watch me burn,” was the prayer request (heart yearning) of the infamous charismatic preacher cum revivalist of his time, John Wesley, as was written in one of the books that chronicled his memoirs. it seems strange for one to make such a request, right? Of course we can tell this fellow wasn’t just praying that God should cause him to become a vain celebrity, or, literally speaking lit him up in flames. At least one could figure this out from the kind of life we’re told he led. For Paul the apostle, it wasn’t a different heart yearning, either; hear him: “cursed be me if I preach not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ” ( ).
These men, I believe, ought to have been of somewhat great influence to us in today’s muddled world/christianity. But it appears this is not so, the reason ours today, vis-à-vis preaching of the gospel truth, is at best nothing but sheer spiritual charlatanry; a development quite deserving of public outcry, and consequent condemnation by those at the helm.
Ordinarily, this kind of prayer/zeal is what one expects to be central, a kind of burning desire in the heart of every Gospel minister. You know, to be aflame for the Lord and the Word, consumed with thirst for souls and the consequent fulfillment of that part of the lord’s prayer that says, “ thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” I consider this to go down well with the supposed primary assignment of those called to the ministry, now I mean the ministry of reconciliation, that’s reconciling men back to God.
But how antiquated and crazy of a prayer such has suddenly and evidently become to our modern-day moneybag ministers, slimy lots (please no denomination is singled out here), who have brazenly thought out for themselves a crafty way of milking dry the sheep entrusted to their care. And, having discovered what St. Paul calls ‘another gospel’, they are now hell-bent on seeing that the sheep are not only milked dry, but skinned alive also. Let it not seem like I am trying to play the judge here, or point accusing finger to anyone. But going by their messages/actions both on and outside the pulpit, one call easily deduce what prayer is hanging very bare on their whale-like mouths and serpent-like tongues; something synonymous to this: “set me on money, afire with fame without tame, o lord, and cause the world to know that I belong to the aristocratic class of ministers cum preachers of my time---the big boys in the ministry; and to hell with those ill-fated impoverished leggy sheep who think I have a thing about their wellbeing in mind.”
Suffer me to recall this wise saying from someone who’s never a Christian, he said: "But the chief thing in all public administration and public service is to avoid even the slightest suspicion of self-seeking." That was Cicero, a great Roman statesman who died a few years before the birth of Christ. Now, if this is true of public servants, just how much more do you think it should apply to God's servants? Scripture has more to say on this.
The Bible gives a list of qualifications for those who would seek the pastoral office (this does not exclude the other offices in the five fold ministry). First Timothy 3:2 and 3 says, "A presbyter [pastor, priest, in all, all those called to minister to souls] then must be blameless… vigilant,
sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre [money]; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous." Oh, did I just hear the word covetous! The Amplified Bible makes the point even stronger. First Timothy 3:3 says, ". . . not a lover of money [insatiable for wealth and ready to obtain it by questionable means]." Does this sound like it applies to us in today’s church, even with all these scams and baba-ijebu dealings going on now in the Body of Christ? Or perhaps it concerns only Bishop Tim and those of that era, isn’t it?!
In one of his lectures quite a few years ago, Chris Delvan had this to say, ““Muslims leave their shoes at the doors of mosques, while Christians leave our minds at the doors of churches.” You know, I bet this to be true, although it sounds pretty funny, or doesn’t it? Yet I doubt if anyone could fault this thought-provoking statement.
Perhaps phony liberalism or sheer ignorance, both of Scripture--of which St. Jerome says it is as good as ignorance of Christ--and the power and true nature of God, could likely be the possible cause of this uncalled–for tolerance cum appraisal of these funny bunch of WINDY CREATURES, crooks, religious charlatans and their tar-like messages prevailing now in the Body of Christ. Or could it be that we—Christians—indeed scarcely carry our minds past church doors as suggested by that blunt fellow? Honestly, considering this a major option may not be unlikely.
Otherwise why would folks continue wasting their hard earned money on those who obviously are super-rich wizards, roller-coaster characters, walking money spillers (human ATMS) plying their unholy trades with reckless severity cum apathy devoid of even the minutest traces of human empathy, in the name of religion or whatever! I bet these guys no longer operate with human hearts, but one made of steel. The more reason why amid inconceivable poverty in the country almost scraping the hairs off the skulls of their more or less bald-headed members, they still have guts to compete, among themselves and before their bony sheep, with witches to fly with jetty wings, Cruise in the most deluxe Porsche, even with sophisticated entourage more than what you would find among looters in government, reckless looters though, and this with gross impunity.
Indeed it’s an era of entertainment, deceit, and impunity in the body of Christ; and I can’t help recalling the words of this man of astute character and effervescence spirit, C.H. Sturgeon, he once said: "A time will come when instead of Shepherds feeding the sheep; the church will have clowns entertaining the goats." Isn’t this true of the church of the time in which we live? Haven’t we now in abounding proportion active jokers and callous swindlers as shepherds? And what about the sheep, have majority not become nearly dim-witted and dumb like goats, considering how unperturbed and glad they would appear, when being swindled of their hard earned money? Really, if St. Paul were to be here, or say pay the Church in Nigeria (especially) a courtesy visit today, I strongly believe he wouldn’t spare us those strong words he used when addressing the Church in Galatia: “O foolish Galatians,[some Nigerian Christians could fit in just properly] who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth…”
You know, it’s out-rightly bizarre and out of place the kind of mix up we get around now in Churches. In the area of scriptural teachings, some of us given to this gospel booming business have really got a lot of things mixed up so badly. We mix up some Old Testament laws/teachings with the New Testament teachings of grace and truth, to get ourselves what we want—a fat purse. This is so obvious in the area of offerings, particularly concerning the issue of tithe and first fruits. Well, we’ll spare this for another day. But let’s not forget that the issue of tithing should not be made a dogma to believers, as it belongs to the OT law which Christ redeemed us from its curse.
“The lord told me that 7 persons here will give #100,000 each to support… (one insignificant project or the other) and these people will become millionaires within one month.” Eeeh! So God has suddenly become a money doubler, and Christianity a religion of multiplication of loaves?
These and more were the words as was echoed by one of these hazy characters, very recently, in one of these their prevailing carefully organized pay per views often dubbed…crusades, power nights or whatever! Don’t forget this is not restricted to any particular denominations. This menace has become incontestably visible in many a church today! This and more razzmatazz that hardly get people take that introspective journey capable of birthing repentance and consequently self discovery, cleverly knitted manipulative ways of extortion (I call it Fund Raising without DUST RAISING), more or less an act of witchcraft operation, have increasingly dominated the ‘circus’ stage show paradigm, leaving our darling charlatans of ministers a little or no place near the word ‘Christian’, let alone ‘pastor.’
I still recall, although not without nostalgia, how-precisely during the immediate past administration, these gospel merchants with their wicked prodigious mercantile knacks almost turned the helmsman in that chaotic blind ship that nearly wrecked the entity called Nigeria into a confused wretch. The scars of the damage wrought by these Hophines and Phinehas in that administration may take a century or more to heal, if ever it will.
It’s time we come back to our senses. Christians in Nigeria should please get back to the radar; we really have strayed way too much. It behooves on us to make it our sole priority to always employ Scripture with view to finding out whether or not what these lazy scoundrels are selling us as gospel message is really what they claim it to be. Folks should please ask questions in matters of the Christian faith, especially where they’re confused. This is one of the surest ways of exposing these doctrines of deceit as being paraded by these wicked servants of hell. Again, folks should not hesitate to ditch any minister, no matter his denomination, or whatever title he may have attached to his name, whose emphasis is always on prosperity, tithing, giving and receiving. Some of them claim that Christians aren’t created to be poor, and that poverty belongs to unbelievers. These are all lies; red hot lies from the pit of hell. That’s not the central in the gospel message of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
And this broom government should also, as a matter of urgency, seriously consider bringing up a policy that would assuage and possibly forever nip in the bud the excesses of these baba-ijabus parading themselves as God’s ministers, and I repeat, this is not minding who or what status or denomination they may belong to. This to me is part of WAC [WAR AGAINST CORRUPTION]. God bless you!

Live to leave fulfilled

Rev. Br Kenneth Alamezie, BSS
kcgalamezie@gmail.com, 08068397124

Life on this planet earth is all about participation and contribution. One hardly makes any meaningful impact without these two. And the Creator loves them that contribute meaningfully to his creation, for that is among our chief reasons for existing in the first place
Those who choose to sit on the fence, I mean the spectators, or one could choose to call them ‘benchwarmers’ are rather chickens with lily-livered tendency. They die many times before their actual death. Contributing to their misery is their myopic view of everything around them. They seldom believe in reality, but would not hesitate to make case about how everyone around them doesn’t want to accept their sickening views of life and things.
Earnestly strive to make a discovery of the role the Eternal Good wants you to play in his creation, that way you will affect your generation positively and live to leave fulfilled.
Never settle for anything less but always aim for the best; for every good gift comes from above, says the Holy Book.
They are to be pitied most of all the children of men, those who choose the way of spectators, as their life constitute and also compound the many problems bedeviling humanity.
You need only to show interest and your God whose riches transcend what any human mind could ever fathom, and who’s a rewarder of diligence, will make you a wonder among your equals. RULE YOUR WORLD. LIVE TO LEAVE FULFILLED. CONTRIBUTE YOUR OWN QUOTA TO MAKE OUR WORLD A BETTER PLACE FOR YOU AND FOR ALL. God bless you!

Francis Cardinal Arinze: Kudos to the Africa’s Lion In Winter
Rev. Br. Kenneth Alamezie, BSS
All through history, there are men and women whose contributions, at their respective times of existence, collectively have significantly helped in shaping the world and advancing the course of human existence on earth. These have had to wrestle through varied harsh experiences and navigate through the murky waters of life to get to where they are, and also get us where we are today. Simply put, they have had to defy all odds to make a difference in the world, to find meaning to life and contribute same to it. And nature, in her most generous manner of dealing with mankind, has not failed to capture their foot prints for posterity’s sake. One can always find it eloquently embossed in the sands of time!
Often, when trying to call to mind what evidently stupendous achievements by which these rare gems are known, one may unconsciously be drawn to engage the mind in a battle. Yes, there could be that possible fight of whether or not to believe that these folks actually once existed, especially when it involves those of them from quite a number of centuries ago. Again, when we consider the endemicity of moral decadence, impunity, and flagrant hedonism overriding in this 21st century era, which outcome is the upsurge of inhumanity of man to man, global chaos cum economic meltdown and other forms of bizarre circumstances bedeviling us, and which we must war against in trying to make both ends meet; we may be tempted to think that some of these icons of valor couldn’t have been humans but possibly beings that dropped from the Mars, or perhaps some kind of product of long years of science experiment.
Yet, the truth remains that discipline and hard work, when brought to bear for any set goals will always yield tremendous benefits, as nature does not behave like we humans do, but is a great rewarder of those who diligently seek for its betterment. Thus, it implies that as many as are going to defy all odds to stick out their feet on the frontlines, to ditch hedonism and the likes for the sole purpose of contributing to nature’s good, will undoubtedly be handsomely rewarded by the same course for which they have sacrificed a lot.
But, for one to achieve this substantial level of excellence in life, there is need to cultivate some essential good traits, and that’s not minding whether they belong to the politico-academic world, religious world and otherwise. These essentially good traits as I have observed are: optimism, discipline, sheer gallantry, effervescent zeal cum love for God and his creation, dogged determination, even in the midst of overwhelming afflictions and terrible situations capable of putting the spirit off on the sidelines, and towering faith in God and oneself. You would find that all who were able to carve a niche for themselves among the reckoned great achievers of all times, not excluding our inimitable Francis Cardinal Arinze, have almost all these listed virtues properly fixed and at work in them.
Our celebrant today, His Eminence, Francis Cardinal Arinze, undeniably is one of such fellows who have had to defy all odds, fought through thick and thin to secure himself a place among the reckoned great achievers of all times. His paradigm lifestyle cum unmatchable contribution in defending Catholic Orthodoxy, his indomitable spirit unabashedly expressed in his powerful speeches consisting of diplomatic but succinct eloquence, not minding the conventions of political correctness, shows him to be indeed Africa’s Lion in winter and a champion of African Catholicism. His numerous writings and earth-moving sermons are also there to testify to this. Needless to say that those who’re still sound in the realm of the brain chamber, that’s good memory keepers, would not hesitate to agree with me that one could hardly mention the likes of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen, Archbishop John Newman and a host of others, whose voices and the outcome of their Biros have continued to evangelize the world even at their demise, without mentioning the name of this Africa’s Lion in Winter.
Embracing the vocation to the priesthood when obviously the heat was upper most, I mean when the vocation was really of a matter of purely sacrifice; when it was so demanding and tasking and was all about inflexible evangelical living devoid of earthly honor and enrichment, just like what’s obtainable today in the vocation to the Brotherhood or monastic life; when it was widely seen as a death sentence by parents and thus was greatly abhorred like feces, very much unlike what we have around today where almost every male in the church wants to toe the path to priesthood, more or less because of what’s at stake--the money, food, cars, wine, honor, loads of basic and non-basic necessities of life, in all self aggrandizement; And almost all the Catholic mamas now want to share in the church’s copious spoil, and have the name “mama father” given as replacement for maybe, Erimma, Nwaogo, Ngborie, Margret(Maggi), Caro etc., is enough testimony of the apostolic zest inherent this saintly cardinal.
His ascendance to the Episcopal stool, the fullness of the Priesthood of Christ the Lord, also came in the face of the trying experience of the hectic war years and the tasking post-wars years. Here again, his dynamism and apostolic spirit came to bear in salvaging the onerous responsibility of feeding the ever growing war-torn sheep entrusted to his care. And like the Francis of old whose mandate as was given by our Lord, was rebuilding a dilapidated Church, at the time, this modern Francis really took after the saint from Assisi in respect to Church rebuilding. Needless to mention that it was this passion in him that birthed the congregation we know today as the Congregation of the Brothers of St. Stephen, which providentially he is the founder and myself a member. Although it wouldn’t be long before the wise and saintly pope John Paul 11 notices this rare gift given to the church in Africa.
Not even the blind could doubt the fact that whatever prosperity is being enjoyed today in the Onitsha Archdiocese and by extension Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, came as a result of the foundation laid by this meticulous servant dubbed ‘strict’ by some folks of the time, likely because of his insistence on living out the life as required by Christ who instituted the vocation. Till date he still does everything in his power to ‘live to leave fulfilled’, like the apostles--particularly the great St. Paul.
Being one of his sons I can testify to this fact, as I’ve been privileged to closely experience him. My conscience assures me of not exaggerating. I only testify to what I’ve seen and to that which I know by close observation.
I only pray God to richly reward this sincere servant of His with whatever may be his heart’s desire, Amen!
God bless you!

Religion / The Menace Of The Social Media:be Careful Of What You Let Fly Into Your Mind by ken2015: 5:07pm On Nov 17, 2015
Be careful of what you let fly into your mind

Rev. Br. Kenneth Alamezie, BSS

Today’s world is one in which we are deeply beleaguered by intrigues of deviant characters, who are very unswerving, as if under oath, in their bid to actualizing their father’s bid, which is to lure people away from the one true God and to seal their hearts from recognizing what essentially is the reason of our individual existence in the world, and what it means to be human. For, to be human has more to it than merely eating, sleeping and waking, and existing almost aimlessly. I believe it involves dynamic participation in the work of God, our father, and in so doing becoming who God says we are.
Of course, it doesn’t matter our respective conditions, presently, in regard to social status and corporeal acquisition, when it involves what each of us should be able to contribute for developing one another and consequently the world around us. What matters is our mindset, how healthy it is, how well informed. For one’s outward appearance/ behavior reflects what program or information they’ve got running in their mind. It is said that true poverty is not the lack of cash, as it is poverty of the mind. They are truly poor who are psychologically lacking, period! That said suffice me to call up yet another bitter truth, which is: that none of us can ever grow past the way s/he thinks in their hearts. For as a man thinketh in his heart, so he is!
To transform a person’s world, there is need to firstly get their character transformed; and this cannot be achieved without first getting their mind transformed. That way their view of life would have been transformed, and their understanding of our reason of existence bettered. Thus, it implies that it is not what we take in as food that makes us who we are, or what we’d become; as it is the information we feed the mind with. Scripture presents it much clearer in these words: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. I like the way this scripture puts it: by simple implication it means that one cannot be able to tell what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God for his or her life save they yield for a renewal of the mind. And we know how this could occur, don’t we? A rather systematic and practical process of decongesting the mind of all acquired misinformation, and consequent downloading of useful information to fill the vacuum, is the answer.
The kind of information we let fly into our minds will, no doubt, determine our view of life, what we’d become, and altogether our future.
Unfortunately, the Thief (that wicked and shrewd Old Serpent) knows more than a bit about this fact. Of course, his modus operandi is not hidden to keen eyes. The same way he was able to get Eve rebel against God, by programming into her mind some kind of seemingly destructive software—false information or you could say pleasing lies--that’s exactly how he’s been going about the same business today. Only that this time, given to years of experience, he has been able to come up with something far more sophisticated and pleasing to fleshly minds: the Entertainment Industry.
The world’s entertainment industry, more or less an organized body of deception, or better still-- the devil’s carefully knitted web for trapping gullible souls and a platform for undisguised devil worship, is really up serving this cause. Today, greater percentage of those in the trade has become themselves big time liars, just like the man they’re serving his cause; and collectively they’ve evidently turn out to be instrument of mass destruction. You can verify this claim if you like.
Both the music and movie industry, whether it be Hollywood, Nollywood, Bollywood and all other woods there are, as it is now, are really playing unmistakable and indescribable role in promoting devil worship and lukewarmness among Christians. The internet, which I have come to understand is in reality Enternet, that is, enter net, its kid brother--the social media, joined with the activities of deviant groups, debased minds of a sort who want evil to thrive and be adopted as a norm, but good treated as anathema, among several others are not left out here, as these have all become dangerous instruments with which the Liar is waging concerted war on humanity; thus grooming for himself potential firewood for hell fire. Pity enough, we are, as it seems, oblivious of this fact.
However, the upshot of what we’re saying is not hidden. Kids now find their way without restriction to the internet, where they enter and are trapped right into the net of pornography and other killing materials spread across that platform. There they poison their delicate minds, which ordinarily should be feeding on useful information that could help in developing them into great youths, and consequently wonderful future leaders. The youths are also not left out. On their part, it is either they are feeding the mind with scraps from the entertainment industry, which songs and movies are geared towards promoting immorality, nudity, criminality, and that bizarre attitude of mind that loathes hard work but craves for wealth, or they are roaming endlessly on the internet, perching from one porn site to another, hence feeding the mind with poisonous information capable of its obliteration. Thus the menace of crime in this era, as overwhelming as it has suddenly become, is simply mystifying and tear-jerking. And I can’t stop wondering what would become of this generation, let’s say, in the next 20-30 years coming.
The future of any country, society, or organization is solely dependent on the kind of youths there; and one can accurately predict what tomorrow would look like based on the crop of youths of today, once said a wise elder, during a gathering we had some three weeks back. I like to say this, when we take into consideration what sort of information that both the youths and lads of this era are busy storing up in their minds via varied communication platforms, we cannot but give heed to that prophetic advise given by the Master himself on that rocky Golgotha road: …cry instead for yourself and for your children…
Let it be known to us that it behooves on us as parents to curtail the excesses of our little ones as regards their activities on the internet. And, to the youths…well, I’ve got only one thing to say: just to remind us that no one eats his/her cake and still has it, impossible! So, it’s about time we started gathering good sticks for the rainy day; and forget it may rain pretty hard unlike what we have going on now. God bless you!

Religion / Why God Has Hidden Your Future From You by ken2015: 1:33pm On Oct 21, 2015
Rev. Br. Kenneth Alamezie, BSS

“Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”(1 Cor. 2:8-9)

The scripture above indicates that it is not everything concerning your life and destiny that would be made known to you or to others around you, before their time of manifestation. Actually, there are things about your future, great, splendid and enormous indeed, which God beforehand has prepared for you who love him, but which He has also hidden from you and from those who may pose an obstacle to such blessing: “for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. The truth is that there is a reason why amidst your present circumstances, ugly and unfavorable as they are, God has decided to keep your end product, fabricated in your future, from you. Absolutely this must be for your good. For there are things about you, the glory prepared for you that, if God lets you know about them in full detail now, may make you as well, and out of uncontrolled enthusiasm and sheer ignorance sacrifice them on the altar of airs and the like. Although, in some cases, the Lord in His wisdom and infinite mercy, that your faith may be sustained, as you pass through the fires of purification and preparation in anticipation of your own hour, from time to time, and through various means may give you, and not necessarily others around you, a flash of what the future holds for you.
Recall that in the case of our Lord Jesus Christ, everything about him, especially as it regards his salvific mission, was also hidden from the people of his time, because, according to the scripture, if they had known about it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. And we know that if such had happened, indeed the whole concept of our salvation would have suffered a terrible set back. And, notice that even when our Lord would comment on it--his mission--he would do so in parables thus, keeping them in the dark: “destroy this temple, and in three days I shall rebuild it again.”
In the case of Joseph, we know that the boy Joseph was only given, via dreams, a picture of what glory God had prepared for him, and not the full detail, else the brothers who were furious at the idea of having to serve a younger one would have made sure that in reality he got killed by a wild beast. Recall that when he made known to his brothers the two revelations given to him, via dreams, of his future, of which at the time he, Joseph, knew nothing of how such a thing, such a future laden with glory, would come about, they acted in a way expected of lesser mortals with faint knowledge of godly wisdom. They became so angry and jealous that without hesitation they began putting up plans on how to end such a dream and future. No doubt, then, that there ensuing actions interpret why God may not let his beloved nor those around him/her know their End Product. Moses is another example. The guy’s destiny was hidden from him, the family, and Pharaoh, else, Pharaoh, out of envy, jealousy and fear of the unknown would have slain beyond recognition the baby Moses, so as to stop that destiny from materializing. And, what about that mighty man of valor, Gideon? Scripture shows he had lost all hope, and in fact was carrying out his daily chores in the field in hiding. Not even the angel could easily convince him of what was written of him in the womb of times; “And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, ‘thou mighty man of valor’… And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? Behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house (Judges 6:12-15). Now, note that because he had never, before the angel’s visitation, perceived anything in him and of him depicting he was called of God to deliver the people from harsh intimidation of the Amalekites and the Midianites, “And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them; And they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till thou come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass” he doubted, more than Thomas would, even a divine message for him. Little wonder he was spared of the gift that Zechariah, John de Baptist’s father, received upon doubting the word of God. However, it seems God understood with him knowing what havoc ugly circumstances could create in one’s mind, the reason He went ahead despite the guy’s unbelief to accomplish what He had for him.
You see, at the present, God may for your good let folks around you see only your cross and not the crown, the frayed mat on which you now recline and not the throne, your sufferings and not the glory. Yes, this should be, so that no matter how intelligent your stubborn pursuers are, they would not be able to uncover the weight of glory awaiting you; and the same God, who in His wisdom has hidden away from their eyes and even from your own eyes as well, the glorious future awaiting you, will also keep you safe from harm’s way till your own hour. See, the good news I bring you today is this: it doesn’t matter to what extent or shape the chaos the enemy may have wrought in your life has taken, it doesn’t even matter the enormity of your sufferings at the present, or what folks have said concerning your situation, and it doesn’t matter whether you have lost your business, job, friends, relations or education. You see, a saying goes that it is not yet over until it is over, the final whistle is not yet blown thus, the game is still on, and consequently I declare to you this day that God is not yet done with you. Your throne will never be taken from you, as God is in control of that your situation. What God demand from you is simple, that you maintain a good relationship with Him and not pitch tent with the wicked in following their evil ways.
I like to say this, that your obstacles today will affect your miracles tomorrow, and your evidently sea of crosses at the moment will birth a bridge for a cross-over to your throne and crown, to the glory of God. God bless you!

Mary’s Pathetic Cry, “They Have Taken My Lord…” Prevailing Today in the body of Christ
Rev. Br. Kenneth Alamezie, BSS
“Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed. For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead. Then the disciples went away again unto their own home. But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre, And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my LORD, and I know not where they have laid him. And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. “(Jn 20:8-14)
The Scripture above is part of the resurrection account of John. The beloved and love disciple is recounting here what transpired at the tomb site of Jesus upon their arrival there--him and peter-- which in the first place was necessitated by the information of our Lord’s missing body, by the contemplative passionate lady, Mary.
Though he, John, said there, that they went in and saw, and believed, yet he was very careful not to hide the very fact that prior to that incident, for lack of knowledge of Scriptural prophecies concerning the messiah’s fate and his consequent resurrection from the dead (Ps 16 vs 10), they had scarcely taken to heart His words to them that he was going to rise again from the dead: “For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.” Perhaps Mary never did as well. At least we can tell from her words. But love answers all things.
Though Mary was nowhere close to what we’d call today ‘a bible scholar’, yet she was the first to discover the truth that even the so-called teachers of the law of that era, just as we have around, today, some of their brothers who wouldn’t care to tell even the birds of the air of what high-ranking theologians they are and how vast their knowledge in bible exposition, could not understand, even at their paraded versatility and towering knowledge of Scripture. Recall their response to the man born blind, prior to his expulsion from the synagogue, “you were born a sinner and now ‘you teach us’!” (Jn 9:34)
Ardent love for Rabboni gave Mary the advantage she enjoys today over the eleven (remember the betrayer had sent himself to the hangman’s gallows) as being the first to see the risen Lord…and also being, if you like, an apostle to the apostles. Not even the beloved disciple could equal her in Love for the Master. And the same applies today: fervent love for the crucified Lord Jesus Christ proves to be the only solution to identifying Him and his voice—his true message--in this era of incessant multiplication of messiahs, widespread distortion of the truth/teachings about the true Messiah, and gross misrepresentation of His salvific mission’s objective to humanity.
As foretold, many are now out there preaching another jesus that is very much poles apart from the Crucified Jesus CHRIST of NAZARETH. Thus Mary’s agonizing response, “they have taken my Lord and I do not know where they have laid him” has become the cry of honest seekers of the TRUTH.
There is no doubt history is going to repeat itself again, as has always being the case. For, like Mary whom we’re told refused to hasten off with others, (in view of happenings today you could substitute with the term 'joining the crowd') "But Mary stood without (alone) at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre", but with fervent love and holy curiosity was determined to find the One who gave her life meaning and beauty, and which she did. Those who’ll find the true Christ, who’ll be able to identify His real voice—his true message—from among many other lookalike voices echoing from almost every direction now, are those who are prepared to weep in honest search of the Truth, in prayer; those who’re ready to stroll that lonely but richly rewarding pathway of holiness, though greatly abhorred by many at present, savoring the scriptures as they walk. The hasteners, the gulp-it-all believers, yes, I mean those Christians who’d never care to discern the scrap sold them in the place of genuine Gospel message, by some disgruntled elements, sons of Korah who’ve invaded the body of Christ like the biblical locusts and canker worms, may not escape being poisoned and deceived into believing this crucifixion-scared superstar of a messiah being preached in many churches. God willing, in the coming editions, we’ll try to x-ray some of these foreign jesuses these entertainers are presenting us with, and their messages. God bless you!
