I won't really argue it if not that CR7 did it over and over again for A VERY LONG TIME. Injuries stopped R9 from being probably the undisputed GOAT, but it is what it is.

CR7 winning mentality and desperado personality no be human level. R9 collapsed under pressure of expectations in 1998 and although he is the superior talent he does not have the do or die spirit of CR7.

The final answer depends on what the actual question is. There is a difference between who is the best and who is the greatest.

Cristiano played in better teams at club level at his peak.
Peak R9 was a one man show,
give him the ball and watch him do the rest...
He played in somewhat weak barca and Inter teams and was literally a man mountain, a bulldozer, didn't matter the defenders he faced and back then football was a lot more physical with quality Defenses especially in Seria A.
In a off game at Peak level i will pick R9 but overall in their careers Ronaldo has a better résumé

Bruno has scored 6 goals in EPL only 2 are penalties. He scored 1 goal in UCL too. Bruno has 5 assists already this season, 3 in EPL.

I am not undermining Salah, he is a phenomenal player, but he plays in a far more better and attacking team and he is their top marksman. Bruno always has 3 players in front of him every match and his main function is to create.

Again I'm not talking just about this season but his utd career so far...

1. Alaba was Bayern's best defender last season. His form dropped off during the CL knockout games and he's meh at the moment. But he was a big part of our success last season.

2. Thiago was easily the most consistent midfielder at Bayern when he was fit. I dey laugh when one person talk say Thiago dey sit down for bench in his first season under Pep. Thiago that was the midfield boss before he got injured and was out for close to 2 years.

3. Dante was Bayern's best CB during the treble winning season and Pep's first year. Only a liar would say otherwise. His decline started around 2015, just about the same time Boateng started to hit top form. But the fact remains he was our best CB at a point in time.

So Baba, again no let anyone use mago mago for you.
