There was heavy explosion at the First Bank Plc along new Kano road in Azare, today 7th of November 2014 at around 10:20am.
The explosion occured at the ATM stand of the bank. With the heavy congestion of people at the ATM stand it is expected that their will be heavy casualty!
It will be recalled that there was similar explosion at a park in the same town few weeks back.
Out of the five remaining banks in the town ( two, GTB and former Intercontinental, were bombed by Boko Haram in one of their numerous bank raids) only First Bank ATM seems to function well resulting in numerous people from nearby villages and as far as Potiskum in Yobe state trooping to the First bank for regular cash withdrawer and anytime salary is paid.
About 20 bodies counted so far, by eye-witness!

This has got to be the funniest headline I have read this week, but the truth is the appeal is NECESSARY… lol. So I found this piece on The Observer written by its editorial and cannot but help say they are on point and something needs to be done about our health sector NOW. So I join them in saying African leaders, please
die in your countries.

Just a few days after Zambia celebrated her 50th independence anniversary last month, their president, Michael Sata, died in a London hospital, where he had been admitted with an unspecified illness.

A lot of attention has been paid to the man who has succeeded him, Guy Scott, a white man, because of his skin. Few people have noted the embarrassing irony of leaders of 'independent' African countries dying in the
lands of former colonial masters, 50 years since independence. Continue...

Eleven African leaders have died in office since 2008 and majority of them it was in a hospital abroad or soon after arriving home. Zambia's Levy Mwanawasa (France) and now Michael Sata (UK), Ethiopia's Meles
Zenawi (Belgium), Omar Bongo (Spain), Ghana's John Atta Mills and Nigeria's Umaru Yar'Adua all fit in that category.

Ideally, the poor health infrastructure in most African countries is the reason African leaders, who are ironically charged with improving these facilities, can't use them.

But it's also true that African leaders are
very secretive about their health; and so, being hospitalised abroad helps them to keep their illness secret and thus their power intact.

It's a shame that a leader can be in charge of a country for 20 years and still fail to create conditions that would enable him or her to get medical attention a home.

Perhaps it's because their own health is never really at stake as they have taxpayers' money at their disposal in case they need even the simplest treatment abroad, while their poor citizens are left to their own devices.

Throwing mega parties to celebrate independence under such circumstances is the worst form of self-deception. African leaders who are still living need to restore some pride to this dear continent by establishing or facilitating the establishment of medical facilities that are capable of not only handling their health needs but also that of all their people.

That way, even an Ebola outbreak would not be as devastating as it has been in West Africa as there would be a fairly robust health system in place to manage every health challenge.

Explosion killed over 10 in Potiskum, Yobe State, on November 3, 2014, Monday, as Shiite Muslims of the area celebrated the Day of Ashura, The Nation reports.

According to an eyewitness, this was a suicide bomb attack that targeted the members of the Shiite group, the Islamic Brotherhood of Nigeria.

The suicide bomber detonated his explosive vest in the crowd of people, killing many on the spot.

Adamu Mohammed, a resident of Potiskum,
confirmed the development to The PremiumTimes in a telephone conversation. He put the number of victims to 20 persons dead and dozens of injured.

“My sister lost three of her sons in the blast,” the man said in despair.

The terrorist attack happened at Faydia Islamic school. This institution is located near the old market and is run by a Shiite.

The bomber struck when members of the Shiite were gathering to go on a procession to mark the Ashura day Ashura day is the tenth day of the month of Muharram, the new month of the Islamic calendar.

Shiite Muslims commemorate the day to mourn the death of Hasain Bn Ali, the grand son of Prophet Mohammed who was reportedly killed on that day. Then the bomber got into their midst and detonated his bomb.

Potiskum is the largest town outside Damaturu, the Yobe state capital. Although, the town had witnessed several bomb and gun attacks from members of the Boko Haram sect in the past, it has recently enjoyed. relative peace.

That has now been punctured by today’s bombing. Efforts to speak with the spokespersons of both the Police and the Joint Task Force, JTf, in the state were
unsuccessful.

“I’m using this opportunity to send this. message to the infidels in Nigeria and the rest of the infidels in the world in Hausa vernacular, the tongue that many understand and if the need arise, I will explain in Fulani and Kanuri, but let us explain to you briefly.

“You people should understand that we only obey Allah, we tread the path of the Prophet. We hope to die on this path and get eternal rest in our graves, rise up in bliss before our Lord and enter Paradise (quotes from the Qur’an). Our goal is the Garden of Eternal Bliss. May Allah protect us.

“You followers of the constitution, have you forgotten your laws? What you said in your constitution when we were preaching in Maiduguri town? In you constitution, you cite section 8 verse 1, 2 to 3 in that your cursed document referred to as the constitution, that it is a law and not reversible. You came out in your radio and newspapers and say we are fighting for Islamic Caliphate, it is that constitution that stops us preaching in Maiduguri, and we move out because of exile Allah tasked us to embark.

“Have you forgotten that? And it is you today claiming we made truce with you? In what way did we make truce? Which kind of negotiation, with whom? That your Danladi, the infidel like you, whom we will not spare and will decapitate if he falls into our hands
today?

“Surprisingly, if the parents of Chibok girls know the condition their daughters, they will not be worry; it is either to be with their conversion to Islam or you die with pains.

“Don’t you know the over 200 Chibok schoolgirls have converted to Islam? They have now memorised two chapters of the Qur’an. They have seen themselves in the Books of Luke and John that Christians have
corrupted the Bible. Girls from Chibok confessing Islam is the true religion! They have realized that Christians have filled the Old Testament with lies.

“A small girl from Chibok insisting that Islam is the true religion, is just a six-grader. We have married them off, and they are in the house of their husbands. (Laughter).

“Fury upon fury. Shekau can infuriate. It is said Shekau is leadership position. Which leadership? Do you think we are practising traditional monarchy? (Laughter). It is the same Shekau whose father is Muhammadu, his son is Muhammadu, his name is Abubakar. It is the same Shekau, he is still the one Shekau, eat the heart of infidels since infidels want to disobey Allah.

She is using Blackberry and iphone while I am using Nokia torch.

I bought the phones for her because I love her so much. I send 500 naira card to her everyday but she doesn't call me. She only
flashes me.

Whenever we go to restaurant I buy maltina and fried rice for her while I drink only pure water and ground nut.

One day I bought 500 naira card for her; when we were together, she called another guy and told the guy that she loves him and
will marry him. When I asked her who she was calling, she said that she was only joking.

She has never ever visited my house and she doesn't allow me to visit her house. Whenever I want to hug her she would shout at me harshly.
