Something was truly wrong in this country and we can't still understand it till today. How can an ordinary citizen of Nigeria accuse a president of a weighty accusations and yet the president didn't dare ask for a prove. Someone accused you of being dead and buried. He said the person there is someone else. He even went ahead to prove it with pictures disparity. He announced it to the whole world fearlessly and even convinced everyone to believe his stories. Then the president was lucky enough to caught him and take him to court. In the court, the president never mentioned the case. Being on trial for over 2years and the president didn't ask him to come and prove how die and been replaced. Now for all former head of state, it only this president that leaves power within 2years and was pronounced death. It seems his mission was completed and now they went and bring the original person for burial. There is something we are yet to understand in this country that could be the greatest scam of all time by APC. 11 Likes |

A looming confrontation may be brewing between the immediate past Rivers State Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), and the Rivers State House of Assembly following the lawmakers’ move to probe state expenditure during the six months of emergency rule. Naija News understands that Ibas ceased to be the state administrator on September 17, after President Bola Tinubu lifted the emergency rule and directed Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, and lawmakers to resume their offices. At its first plenary after resumption, the Assembly, led by Speaker Martin Amaewhule, resolved to investigate financial transactions carried out during the period. The lawmakers noted their intention “to explore the process of knowing what transpired during the emergency rule with regard to spending from the consolidated revenue fund for the award of contracts and other expenditure.” Reacting, Ibas insisted the Assembly had no authority to investigate him, as they did not appoint him. Speaking through his Senior Special Adviser on Media, Hector Igbikiowubu, with Punch on Sunday, Ibas argued that the probe was effectively a challenge to the President, who appointed him, and the National Assembly, which supervised his tenure. He, however, dismissed their resolve as “commentary,” describing any probe against the former administrator as futile. He said, “When you say they were going to probe the tenure of the administrator, was it the Assembly that appointed the administrator? “You see, the point to note is that commentary is free. You can’t stop people from running commentary. The House of Assembly has been on break for a very long time, and you will appreciate that they have not been able to discharge their functions for such a long time. “Now that they have resumed, they have to make an effort to carry out their functions. So, it will seem their right to probe what has gone wrong in the state. Nobody can stop the lawmakers from carrying out a probe of what they perceive to be their functions within the state. “But like I asked earlier, were they the ones that appointed the administrator? So, if you didn’t appoint the administrator, it goes to reason that you have certain limitations. When you also realise that the administrator was appointed by the President, it goes without reason that the administrator acted for and on behalf of the President.” “When you also reason that the administrator was supervised by the National Assembly, it goes without reason that when you decide to probe the administrator, you’re invariably saying that you will be probing the administrator and the National Assembly. “So, I wish them good luck with their plan and their probe. The Federal Government has clarified that it has no immediate plans to enforce the 5% Petroleum Products Tax contained in the new tax legislation. Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, disclosed this during a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday. His statement comes amid widespread public outcry and threats of industrial action from organised labour, which has demanded the scrapping of the tax. Meanwhile GISTLOVER reported that The Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, Taiwo Oyedele, has clarified that the controversial 5% fuel surcharge was not introduced by President Bola Tinubu’s administration but has been in existence since 2007. Speaking on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Tuesday, September 9, Oyedele explained that the law had remained dormant due to fuel subsidy. “One very important message for people to know is that this surcharge was not introduced by this government. It was introduced in 2007. And then it was not implemented because the government was subsidising fuel,” he said. Recent reports indicated that the surcharge—placing a 5% fee on every litre of fuel purchased—would take effect in January, sparking public outcry amid rising living costs. Oyedele, however, insisted the measure was not part of the tax reform bills signed into law earlier this year. “While we were doing this tax reform, it was not even in the original proposal, so it was not like the President proposed it to the National Assembly. But in the process of working on the bills, these issues came up, and then the decision was made that we should not have different agencies collecting taxes,” he explained. According to him, the law gives the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) the mandate to administer the surcharge, with 40% of revenue allocated to federal roads and 60% to states. He stressed there is currently no confirmation that implementation will begin in January, contrary to speculation. The debate has since drawn resistance from civil society organisations, trade unions, and the Organised Private Sector. The Trade Union Congress (TUC) has threatened to go on strike if the surcharge is enforced. Russia is preparing to roll out its cancer vaccine following the successful completion of preclinical trials, which proved both safety and high effectiveness. In a post on Sunday, Sowore said X officially notified him of the request from the DSS. His words: “This morning, X officially contacted me about the despicable threat letter they received from the lawless DSS over my tweet on Tinubu. One option I will not be taking is deleting that tweet.
