What makes them wasted? Simply because a man doesn't want to share in your views, then he becomes wasted.

Get basic education.

Politics › Re: 7 Reasons Why Biafra Will Never Happen by kernel501: 4:25pm On Apr 06, 2017
ibson99:
The agitation for a sovereign state of Biafra seems to be growing stronger. These agitations are championed by a group known as the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and a sizable number of ethnic Igbo youths who go on the internet to share their opinions on their continued relationship with the rest of Nigeria. Their demands are simple; they want an independent state of Biafra mainly because they believe the rest of Nigeria is slowing down their development. Unfortunately, the independence of Biafra is based largely on factors outside the control of even the agitators.

1. They need to convince the rest of Nigeria to let them go
The conundrum is the Biafran’s wants the oil rich Niger-Delta to be a part of their country, while the rest of Nigeria cannot survive without oil revenue from the South. Without oil revenue, states like Osun and Kebbi State in the north will be unable to pay workers salaries and provide basic services like health and education. Convincing the rest of Nigeria to give up oil revenue will be quit a task.

2. Vague geographical location:
To have a country, you will need an exact geographical territory. As it stands, even the leaders of the movement do not have a definite territory in mind. Some have suggested that perhaps the oil rich Niger-Delta should be part of their country others want an alliance with the middle-belt minority Christians. The agitators just do not have a definite map in mind.

3. The rich and famous Igbo’s don’t support Biafra:
The reason is simple; the probability of success is very slim. In Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial center, there are a lot of successful Igbo traders who wouldn’t want to find out what will happen to their businesses when they are no longer Nigerians.

4. The call for Biafra is not exactly honorable:
The current agitation led by Nnamdi Kanu started shortly after the 2015 general election in which majority of Igbo’s supported the then incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan. Before the election, Nnamdi Kanu was virtually non-existent and it could be argued that it was Goodluck Jonathan’s loss at the polls that led to the current agitation. Where is the honor in that?

5. They have no international support:
On the continent, no African country will be bold enough to meddle in Nigeria’s internal politics. France and The UK have already declared they won’t be supporting the actualization of Biafra; the Americans are traditional allies and supporters of one Nigeria. These leave them with only Russia and China as possible supporters; not unlikely, but not enough.

6. Biafra will be same old wine in a new bottle:
Over 521 languages are spoken in present day Nigeria by about 300 ethnic groups. Biafra if created will still be as diverse as Nigeria with the same corrupt politicians and similar social problems. What will be worse is a lot of ethnic groups won’t want to be minorities to the Igbo’s.

7. There is no actual oppression or marginalization of the Igbos:
Before his arrest and eventual detention by the Nigerian State, Nnamdi Kanu on his Radio Biafra would go on and on about how the Igbos are being politically marginalized and oppressed, and how they would thrive in an independent Biafra. Reality check is a lot of the Igbo traders in Lagos would disagree with that assertion. Politically: the current Deputy Senate President of Nigeria is of Igbo ethnic extraction, the current Minister of Petroleum is Igbo. Within the last 17 years the Igbos have produce a Senate President, several Ambassadors and top government officials; the Igbos are simply a force to reckon with in Nigeria’s politics.

Those agitating for an independent state of Biafra have started on a path, but they still have great a many miles to go.
source: http://www.afriforum.net/276/7-reasons-why-biafra-will-never-happen
I laugh when I see my Western brothers try so... hard to convince Igbos that Biafra is just an illusion. Yet Biafra has been making headlines from 1970 till now, We've gotten more people that believe our struggle over time.
Will the Niger Delta help Nigeria in fighting Biafra, that's a No for them, will the Middle belt man fight for Nigeria No!.
Nigeria have not improved on any part since her independent.

No problem without solution if we listen to nature, in any problem at all nature warn and send message on how to solve the problem unless you weren't yield to the message, if you are doing something and you are in trouble look in to the out come and result there is message in it that leads you to the right way and solution but if you continue in delusion and contiue blindly without listen to nature, there would not be solution.
We are in trouble politically in this country because of our failure to obey the law of the nature.
We divide the country between south and North and here is where we are today.
To obey the nature, Nigeria must politically divided between East and West not North and south, so if a president come from west his vice come from the East and since there is only two parties in the world, the ruling party and the opposition party, if one party takes his candidate from the east the other candidate of the other party will come from west, all the religious, ethnics, regional conflicts will be resolved.

Overwhelming majority of Igbos are for Biafra, come down to the East make noise against Biafra and watch your end.

Politics › Re: Justice Sylvanus Nsofor, Ambassadorial Nominee Refuses To Recite National Anthem by kernel501: 8:53pm On Mar 01, 2017
HungerBAD:
So let me get this straight.

President Buhari did his part,by forwarding a nominee from the East,in the spirit of unity, equity and fairness to the Senate for confirmation as an Ambassador.

And the Nominee got to the Senate, and was just asked to do his own "Little" part by reciting our National Anthem and he refused? I am really trying to understand the logic behind his refusal,so maybe someone more intelligent can explain better.

And so we are again grateful to the internet.

If not for the internet,we would not have known the Imo Nominee screened himself out from becoming an Ambassador.

Before the town criers suffering from PH.D(pull him down)syndrome, will now start shouting that BUHARI hates the EAST.

Meanwhile, the Yoruba nominee obeyed all the simple commands. Something tells me only one of them passed.
Is unfortunate that your age, you wouldn't know that there are two sides to every story.

My dear, I saw this come even before you posted it. However, if these people you mentioned represent the knowledge of the Igbos, then it is not enough. I'll try to match those you produced with a couple of Yoruba names

1. Chinua Achebe - Prof Wole Soyinka, Akinwunmi Isola, Ola Rotimi, Niyi Osundare, Gbemisola Adeoti, Femi Euba
2. Chimamanda Adiche - Fola Adeoti, Toyin Adewale, Sefi Atta, Molara Ogundipe, Bernadine Evaristo, Jumoke Verissimo
3. Soludo - Fola Adeola, Razaq Okoya, Folu Ayeni, Mike Adenuga
4. Ngozi Okonjo- Samuel Ládòkè Akíntọ́lá, Olusegun Olutoyin Aganga, Onaolapo Soleye
5. Phillip Emegwalim - Winston Wole Soboyejo (mechanical and aerospace engineering),
6. Chike Obi - Grace Alele-Williams
7. Augustine Esogbue - Maggie Aderin-Pocock (space scientist), John Dabiri (aeronautical engineering and biophysics), Kunle Olukotun (electrical engineering and computer science)
8. Cyril Agodi Onwumechili - Awele Maduemezia, Abel Idowu Olayinka (Geophysicist),
9. Cyprian Emeka Uzoh - Oyewusi Ibidapo Obe (Scientist in Systems Engineering)

And if you are referring to the 'excellent' record of students in Imo and other SE states yearly, then let me gladly submit to you that they are products of special centers and gross encouragement of malpractices in most schools in the region. I witnessed one first hand somewhere last here and I was amazed at the level of organized malpractices exhibited in the two schools I covered at the time.

For every scientist and scholar you mention, trust me, the Yorubas have them in abundance. Take so time to research the names I matched with yours and revert.

Regards.
Hahahaha... The only world renowned scholar on that list is Wole Soyinka, how did Mike Adenuga get there?
Igbos have the highest number of students in diaspora all around Nigeria, after the indigenous people of the university, Igbos have the highest number.
Regarding the examination malpractice, I can't believe the level of disclaim petiness ... Which state is exam malpractice free in Nigeria?
World debate competition, 2015 Anambra state won second best, 2016 they won first worldwide. The 2016 Ebonyi state won to represent Nigeria.

Without trying to sound tribalistic, I believe the Yorubas are the most educated folks in the country. I have stayed between these two and can authoritatively put this forward.
Am not talking about stories but facts. In the past 12-13 years Eastern states have topped in all parallel examination from JAMB,SSCE.
No state has more application than Imo and Anambra, as well as performance, use google.
This is the performance of states over a period of time. except for just 1 year, we always have two Igbo states topping. This data is coming from the governments, not one Media house.
