Nigerian youngster Kelechi Nwakali has said he has completed his move to Arsenal – tweeting that his new life has begun at the London club. Arsenal’s move for the 18-year-old midfielder first began gaining traction in January, when Nwakali travelled to London alongside former Gunners striker Nwankwo Kanu to sign a contract at the Emirates. However a move for Nwakali could not be completed until the player’s 18th birthday, on June 5, due to Fifa regulations that forbid the transfer of minors unless within the European Union. On his Twitter feed Nwakali changed his bio to state that he was a “footballer for Arsenal FC and Nigeria U20 Nike Athlete” and also shared a Facebook post of him posing with the shirt of his new club. Arsenal fought off interest from a string of Europe’s leading clubs, including Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Manchester City, to sign the midfielder – who revealed the influence of Kanu had played heavily on him. “I just came back from London, I have signed a five-year contract with Arsenal,” he told All Nigeria Soccer. Can't believe people are busy trying to justify fornication, I don't believe there is anyway a person can fornicate without his or her conscience hunting them, the bible says that anything done without faith is sin, the fact of the matter is fornication is and will continue to be a sin, I don't know why people will continue to allow the devil to use them, the devil doesn't love you or care about you, flee from fornication kapish! |

We do not need to seek the Holy Spirit, He has already been given. He is here. Luke 11:13, "how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?" Notice, "your heavenly Father"; that is for a believer. That was not written for the Jews, for He was not the Jews' Heavenly Father. Gal. 3:2 "This only would I learn from you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the message of faith?" That settles the issue! But, you say, the disciples waited ten days. Yes, but they didn't know what they were waiting for. They didn't know that Christ had died for their sins according to the Scripture. They didn't know during those ten days why they were waiting in that Upper Room. They didn't know anything about His Substitutionary Sacrifice. None of them believed in His resurrection, even when they saw Him after He arose. They knew nothing about what the three days and three nights meant to the human race. They didn't know what Jesus meant when He said they were to tarry and be baptized. They didn't know that baptism meant the New Birth. They didn't know anything about the indwelling of the Spirit that was to enable them to speak in tongues. They didn't understand it. 1 Cor. 12:13 "For in one Spirit were we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greek, whether bond or free; and were all made to drink of one Spirit." That is the New Birth. Immersion doesn't mean a filling, for when I immerse one in water, I don't fill them with water. When they were immersed by the Holy Spirit in that Upper Room, they weren't filled with the Spirit until after the immersion. The question we should ask is the question that Paul asked the Ephesians, "Have ye received the Holy Spirit since ye believed?" This is an intelligent question. When you ask a believer if he has received his baptism, and the believer is instructed in the Word, he will say, "Certainly, I have received Eternal Life. But if you mean, have I received the Holy Spirit, that is another question." We do not seek for Righteousness. We are made the Righteousness of God in Christ. We do not seek for power, because we have the Holy Spirit, who raised Jesus from the dead, within us. We do not seek for faith, because we are believers. We are not doubters, we are the true Sons of God. We are men who act upon the Father's Word just as Jesus acted on His Father's Word. This new order of Life, this new type of Christianity that has unveiled to us the truth about sense knowledge and has made us Masters in the Name of Jesus over the forces that have held us in bondage all our lives, has become a Living Reality. We know now what makes an atheist, an atheist; a modernist, a modernist. We know the why of metaphysics. We understand why men have become philosophers. It is all sense knowledge seeking after something to satisfy a hungry human spirit that is craving God. These people are all in one class. They are all sense knowledge devotees. They tell me they are scientific. What is science? It is but sense knowledge gathering together certain data. They haven't one thing except what the five senses have contributed. They are sense knowledge men, ofttimes drunken with the few facts they have collated, gathered, classified. Philosophy is sense knowledge seeking after God. No philosopher ever found God in the realm of philosophy. It is the child of the senses. The seeking philosopher finds only himself, for he is seeking in himself. He can't seek outside of himself. The natural man cannot find or know aught but himself. The philosopher is a psychical, mental man. Psycho-analysis is but discovering oneself. He has not discovered the real self, for he can't find that. The real self is a spirit. The only self he has discovered is the mental self that has derived all his knowledge from the five senses. When one searches in his inner self, he only finds what he has already built there or else someone else has built. Philosophy is a total failure in seeking the solution of the human problem. Psychologists have called our human spirit, "a subconscious mind," for this searcher in his own self-consciousness, has discovered that there is something besides the reasoning faculties. He can't find it nor diagnose it, so he calls it "a sub-conscious mind." It is his spirit. That is not the right way of expressing it. It is himself, his spirit, that the reasoning faculties cannot find or understand even if they found it. When that spirit receives the Nature of God and gains the ascendancy over the reasoning faculties that get their impulses from the senses, then man can study psychology and get to know himself in Reality. There is room for a new psychology, but it will not be called psychology - it would be Spiritology. It is knowledge of the activities and operations of the recreated human spirit in its relation to the renewed mind. |
Police authorities in Imo State are investigating a Roman Catholic priest (names can not be disclosed for legal reasons) for unlawful possession of firearms. The priest, who is reportedly in charge of one of the prominent Parishes in Dikenafai, Ideato South Local Government area, Imo State, was arrested for possessing three unlicensed guns, with which he threatened the lives of his parishioners. According to Crime Guard, the guns included one pump action riffle, one double-barrelled gun and a locally-made pistol. The cache of arms, allegedly belonging to the priest, was recovered by the operatives of the Special Armed Robbery Squad (SARS), Imo State Police Command, at his official residence. It has been learnt that SARS acted on a tip off from concerned parishioners. A controversial priest was arrested and detained briefly, but granted bail by the police, following the intervention of some influential religious and political leaders in the state. Police sources intimated that the controversy surrounding the reverend father stemmed from a tragedy that occurred in January 2010, after the death of a prominent indigene of the area. The resident priest was said to had raised issues over the burial ceremony, which inflamed the natives and they had to lodge formal complaints to the Bishop of the area over the way the priest was allegedly calling people names while conducting services. According to the source, the matter became worse after armed robbers reportedly attacked the priest in his official residence and he openly accused some prominent citizens of the area of masterminding the robbery. This, the source continued, made some of them to write a petition to the Commissioner of Police in Imo State accusing the priest of threatening their lives with dangerous weapons. The Police boss swiftly acted on the petition and sent SARS detectives to the residence of the priest, where some weapons were allegedly recovered. Meanwhile, investigation into the case is ongoing by the police to ascertain the source of the guns and possibly the actual purposes they are being used for. It is believed that the matter will be charged to court after full police investigation had been concluded. |
Satan has always bitterly and subtly fought God's Word, because God works through His Word. When God desired to create a universe, He brought it into being by the power of His spoken Word. Hebrews 11:3. The worlds were created by the Word of God. Every child of God was begotten, born of the Word. James 1:18, "Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth." I Peter 1:23, "Having been begotten again not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the Word of God which liveth and abideth forever." Then, after man has become God's child, the food, the sustenance, and the maintenance of his spiritual life is the Word of God. Matthew 4:4, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth from the mouth of God." It is the Word which builds us up. Philippians 2:13, "For it is God who worketh in you both to will and to work for His good pleasure." He is working in us through His Word. Colossians 1:5-6, "Whereof ye heard before in the Word of truth of the gospel which is come unto you even as it is also in all the world bearing fruit and increasing as it doth in you since the day ye heard it." Satan's Battle Against the Word. Every period of spiritual declension has been marked by a low conception of God's Word. When Satan found that the torturing and martyrdom of the Christians, and the destruction or burning of Bibles would not stop the church from growth, he employed a more successful method. That method has been subtly attacking the Word so that it is made powerless and ineffectual in the life of man. For a period of one thousand years before the Reformation, the Word was not given its place in Christian circles. James Lord, in his writing, "Beacon Lights of History," shows that it was Oriental philosophy that for a period of one thousand years usurped the authority of the Word, and ruled and controlled the Christian world. When the Word lost its place, Redemption lost its place, and faith became unknown. For a thousand years the Bible was locked up in monasteries, locked in a language that the common people could not understand. It was written in Latin only, and just the clergy had access to it. This is the reason for the spiritual darkness of the Middle Ages. This is why God seemed inactive during that dark period. When His Word lost its place, He lost His place in the lives of men. It was out of Oriental philosophy that penance, purgatory, monasteries, and the Crusades grew. The Place of the Word in the Reformation. When the Reformation came, it came when the Word began to work in the lives of a few men. Those men caught a glimpse of its place and gave it to the common people. It was the working of God's Word in the lives of men that brought Light and Life to humanity. The spread of Bibles into the homes of the common people cannot be separated from the Reformation. Yet Satan has not ceased to try to make the Word inactive. When he could no longer lock it up within monasteries and a language the people could not understand, he locked it up within creeds and doctrines. The Reformation and the cheaper means of printing made it possible for every home to possess the Bible. Satan's Battle Against the Word. Then Satan caused men to build creeds and doctrines about the lives and teachings of the leading men of the Reformation, thus hindering themselves from growth and development. No single leader of the Reformation possessed all the light. God raised up these men and gave to each a portion of light. Yet these men themselves were largely the product of the Middle Ages. Whenever a man locks himself up within a set of creeds, he shuts out further light on the Word, and hinders his growth. This has caused the divisions within the church and made her a reproach to the world. This has hindered a true presentation of Christianity to the world so that Redemption has never had a fair chance to work in the lives of men. This has caused a furious battle to be waged over the Deity of Christ and the authority of the Scriptures that has resulted in the present-day condition. Many churches are preaching, in the place of the Word, other themes which they consider more practical and in harmony with modern civilization. While on the other hand, those who today are preaching the truth, and are considered the most spiritual, have no true conception of the sacredness of the Word of God, and the place it should hold in their lives. |
The Senate of the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) has sacked all academic staff on its payroll with immediate effect on December 2, 2013, Monday, for failure to return to classrooms. This has been confirmed by Mr. Chike Ezenwa, the Public Relations Officers (PRO) of the institution, in a telephone conversation with the Nigerian Tribune in Owerri. According to him, the senate of the university had declared all the positions of academic staff in the institution, adding that they would be advertised starting from December 2, 2013, Monday. The PRO further explained that the senate council had already compiled the list of vacant positions in the school, adding that who were willing to resume would be adequately protected. However, the FUTO branch of ASUU said any attempt to break their ranks would be strongly resisted by their members. The Monday’s communiqué urged members to ignore the resumption notice by FUTO management, adding that the branch would not engage in any academic activities until the Federal Government committed itself to implementing the ASUU-FGN agreement |

gv6-1Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, on Friday disclosed that more governors are on the verge of dumping the crisis-ridden People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressive Congress (APC). Commending the five PDP Governors for their courage, Okorocha assured that the action of the governors will further strengthen the country’s democracy and midwife the much desired two party system. Addressing journalists at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri, shortly after he arrived from Abuja, the governor said that he had earlier predicted the “crossover” of the aggrieved governors to APC, adding that the country is now heading to a two party system which would create opportunity and freedom synonymous with healthy democracy. He restated calls for the total cancellation of Anambra State governorship election, adding that it was marred by “noticeable irregularities.” – |
A man believed to be in his 70s, who claimed to.be a wizard, was on Wednesday found on the banks of the Okrudu River at Kaimebre, a settlement near the Kasoa New Market in the Central Region Ghana. The man, who gave his name as Charles Atta, looked frail, pale and bore protruding breasts like that of a teenage girl. His body was smeared with mud from the bank of the river where he was found by two brothers, Liberty Obeng and Innocent Obeng, who claimed they found the strange man crying for help. The two brothers told Daily Guide reporters that the self-acclaimed wizard confessed to them that he was in the company of colleagues, including a medical doctor and were flying to Cape Coast for a meeting when he was forced down. According to him, they were flying over a church where an all-night vigil was being held when he crash- landed at Servant Kings International School. "When we as ked him where he was coming from, Atta told us that he was from Akuapem Akropong but was flying to Cape Coast to attend a meeting for witches and wizards," he said. Charles also confessed that the two puffy protrusions on his chest were breasts taken from his 16-year- old granddaughter and that he normally borrowed them for his night activities. The two brothers said they were initially confused and bewildered by the weird sight of the man, and not knowing what to do him took him to Pink FM, a local radio station at Kasoa for help. When the strange announcement was made on radio, hundreds of people besieged the premises of the radio station to see the suspected wizard. Upon hearing the news, the Kasoa District Police dispatched a number of police personnel to the station to save the victim from being lynched. Superintendent Samuel Tabril Punobyin told the paper that the police did not investigate spiritual matters and that the suspected wiz-ard could therefore not be charged. He said the police would look for the family erf the man and hand him over to them. Charles Atta is still in the custody .of the Kasoa Police.

THE WORD takes the place of the unseen Christ. Meditation in the Word is a visit with Him. The Word becomes a part of one by meditation. The Word living in us gets into our blood. Acts 19:20, "So mightily grew the Word of the Lord and prevailed." A revival in Ephesus was shaking the nation. It was not Paul's preaching; it was not his logic or philosophy; it was the Word of God. Acts 12:24, "But the Word of God grew and multiplied." It grew in the minds of the people. It gained the supremacy over them. Faith Makes the Word Prevail. Faith comes when the Word prevails over the thinking processes. In Matthew 8:23-27, we see the Word prevailing in Jesus' lips over the laws of nature. You remember that He said, "Oh ye of little faith." "Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. And the men marveled, saying, "What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?' " The Word prevailed in Matthew 8:5-12 . The Word in Jesus' lips prevailed over the disease in the Centurion's servant. In Matthew 14:13-21, the Word in Jesus' lips ruled the law of supply and demand. Five loaves and two fishes multiplied until five thousand people were fed and twelve baskets of fragments were left over. John 1:1-3, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him; and without Him was not anything made that hath been made. |
The fact is this is a spiritual thing God has chosen him, he doesn't even know if he will contest but am telling you now that he will contest and win it, no two ways about it, just remember this |
A chief magistrates' court sitting in Benin, on Thursday, sentenced a 20-year-old woman, Chidinma Eze, to seven years in prison for stealing a four-month-old baby. According to report, Magistrate Peter Asemota, convicted and sentenced Eze, following her guilty plea during arraignment on September 30, 2013. Asemota did not give the accused any option of fine. "I have listened to the unequivocal plea of guilt by the accused person, I have listened to the facts as presented by the prosecutor and I have also read through the statement made to the police by the accused. "From the statement, the accused admitted that she stole the baby and that she and two others took the baby to Lagos to solicit for funds. "They went out on three occasions and realised about N30, 000, out of which they paid their hotel bills and fed the baby," Asemota said. Asemota stated that it was clear from the statement and the action of the three suspects that they had no intention of returning the baby to its biological mother. "I am satisfied from the evidence before me that the accused committed the crimes which she has freely admitted to, both at the police station and in the court. "In the circumstances, I find the accused person guilty as charged on both counts, and convict her accordingly in each of the two counts,'' Asemota said. The prosecutor, ASP Samuel Ogar, during Eze's arraignment, had submitted that she and the two others stole the baby on September 3, 2013 at No. 2, Agbado Lane, Off Ogbado Street, Benin City. Ogar said that her accomplices, aged 15 and 16, had been taken to the juvenile court. |

BELIEVING demands action creates action. Mental Assent admires, admits, but does not act. Acting on the Word is letting Christ act through you. Acting on the Word, then, gives God an opportunity. Giving the Word its place is giving Christ His position of Lordship. The problem of believing is made simple when we know that it is acting on what God has spoken. "Everyone therefore that heareth these words of mine, and doeth them, shall be likened unto a wise man, who built his house upon the rock; and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not; for it was founded upon the rock" (American Standard Version). "Everyone who hears these teachings and acts upon them will be found to resemble a wise man who built his house upon the rock" (Weymouth). (The "rock" is "doing the Word." He that does not do the Word never builds upon a solid foundation.) "And everyone that heareth these words and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man who built his house upon the sand." The hearer must become a doer or else the entire structure that he builds will be destroyed. Jesus illustrates that. He made us know what acting on the Word really means. The wise man is the doer of the Word. The other hears but does not act upon it. He is a Sense Knowledge hearer. He is a Mental Assenter. He may be a vague, indefinite hoper, but he is not a doer. He responds to reason instead of the Word. His spiritual life is built on sand. If he has faith in anything, it is in man, what man has done . . . science, works, organization, etc. You can tell whether a man is building on the sand or on the rock, by noticing whether he is practicing or not, whether he is acting on the Word. James 1:22-25 . "But be ye doers of the Word and not hearers only, deluding your own selves. For if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a natural man beholding his natural face in a mirror: for he beholdeth himself and goeth away, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was . "But he that looketh into the perfect law of liberty and so continueth, being not a hearer that forgetteth but a doer that remembereth, this man shall be blessed in his doing.” |
Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi has said that he joined the All Progressive Congress in order to protect the people of his state. Amaechi said Rivers had suffered neglect under the President Goodluck Jonathan administration. He also said that he made up his mind to leave the Peoples Democratic Party for the APC because the issues raised by G-7 governors were not resolved by Jonathan and the PDP. The governor, who spoke with newsmen at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Tuesday, described the decision to join the opposition party as good for the country’s democracy. He explained that the PDP was giving the impression that they (G-7 governors) were begging to come back to the ruling party, maintaining that issues that led to the crisis in the PDP were not resolved. “Yes, we have joined APC after the meeting we had with Buhari, Tinubu and the interim Chairman of APC. The governors met on Monday and decided that we must meet with the APC leadership. “When we met with the APC leadership, it was important we took a position and the position we took is for the good of our democracy and to ensure that Nigeria moves forward. “Rivers State must know that for me to have taken that decision, I had looked at the general interests of Rivers people. I was not elected to lead Nigeria; I was elected to lead Rivers State and I had looked at the interests of Rivers people and have seen that these interests were not protected in PDP. “I have seen the fact that we are losing our oil wells in Etche, in the Kalabari areas and that the more they continue to pilfer these oil wells, the more we will continue to lose our wealth.” He, however, pointed out that despite his defection to the APC, he still held the President in high esteem and had no personal quarrel with him. He said, “The President and I have no personal quarrel. It is important we put that in perspective. All the issues were issues that affect Rivers people, they were issues that affect Nigerians and I am a Nigerian, I have to address those issues. “He is my President and I respect him. I respect his office, respect him as a person and respect the fact that he is older, but then as an elected governor of Rivers State, I have the responsibility to lead Rivers State.” Meanwhile, the PDP in Rivers State has called on its members not to join Amaechi in the APC. Chairman of Rivers PDP, Mr. Felix Obuah, urged members of the party not to be swayed by Amaechi’s promise of SURE-P empowerment scheme to join him (Amaechi) in APC. Obuah, who threatened to sanction any of state PDP members found to be involved in anti-party activities, cautioned that the party would not hesitate to wield the big stick against members working against its success in the state. The state PDP chairman spoke with newsmen in Port Harcourt on Wednesday during a party’s rally in response to Amaechi’s defection to the APC. |
The police in Lagos have arrested a 33-year-old woman, Biola Gbadamosi, for allegedly murdering her husband, Jamiu, in the Ikorodu area of the state. According to the police, the suspect, who is a nursing mother, stabbed her husband with a knife during an argument over rice. PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspect and her husband, who is a Vehicle Inspection Officer, had a history of domestic violence prior to the incident. Biola, who spoke to our correspondent while fighting back tears, said she had no intention of killing her husband, adding that she only stabbed him once on the thigh. She said, “Jamiu and I dated for four years, but when I got pregnant this year, we did introduction and I started living with him in Idi Iroko, Ikorodu. However, when I was three months pregnant, he started beating me. “Most times, he takes alcoholic drink and he comes back home drunk and starts beating me for flimsy reasons. He even had a kidney ailment. “One day, he came home drunk, accused me of infidelity and started beating me. He said he had been told that I was going to poison his food, but I continued to endure. I, however, reported the beatings to his mother and siblings.” The suspect said after being delivered of a baby in August, she usually went to her family’s house in Somolu from where she would take her baby for post-natal. She said on September 7, 2013, she returned home with her baby only to have a fight with her husband hours later. She said, “While I was about leaving my parents’ home, my husband called to say that he was broke and I should make money available for the weekend. When I got home, I started cooking fried rice but my husband, who was drunk, said he did not like it. I jokingly called him a bush man and an argument ensued. “While we were arguing, a neighbour, who sells drinks, came into our flat to collect money that we owed her. I was grating carrots with a knife when my husband slapped me and said I must leave his house that night. “I used the knife I was holding to strike him on the thigh and he started bleeding profusely. The neigbours and I took him to a hospital. At the hospital, I was told that my husband’s injury was not deep, so neighbours said I should take my baby home.” The suspect told PUNCH Metro that the next morning; the landlord informed her that her husband died at midnight. “The matter was reported at the Owutu Police Division and I was arrested,” she said. The suspect, who claimed to be an Ordinary National Diploma degree holder from Ibadan Polytechnic, insisted that her husband’s killing was not deliberate. While pleading with the police to show her mercy, she said, “My little baby, Oluwaseyifunmi, is with my husband’s family and I fear that my child will never get to know me if I am sent to prison. My breasts are still filled with milk and no baby to suckle them.” When our correspondent visited the scene of the incident, the landlord, Theophilus Kalejaiye, said the couple had a history of violence. Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent on the telephone, said the matter had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba for further investigation |
