TheGoodJoe: It was Haruna that the German player fouled in the Germany Vs Nigeria 2009 U20 ( CFCfan pointed it out earlier). Haruna got the ball and he wanted to send the ball forward to the attacking line. Then he changed his mind and decided to be the next Jay Jay Okocha.
The German player pushed him off the ball and Haruna waited for a foul instead of chasing. To cap it up, when they reached our post, who else but that wasted Keeper Emeka Okafor (Still wondering where Siasia found him).
That is how we conceded. It is time to right that wrong. lol..... GoodJoe u no go kill me with this ya post ooooo...... |

CFCfan: This would be the 3rd meeting between Nigeria and Germany at this level. The Flying eagles beat Germany 2-0 in Lagos in 1999, and lost 2-3 in 2009 at the round of 16. no mind those yeye 2009 FE. Game wey go enter extra time them foolishy play yeye corner wey Holtby take score in the dire minute. |

tbaba1234: North Korea had Brazil and Nigeria in their group, two giants at this level. not comparable yeah agreed but not an excuse for the worst performance. Atleast try to score and concede less na. Did they forgot ''parking the Marcopolo bus??'' it used to work for many teams. |

Sports › Re: Flying Eagles of Nigeria Thread: U-20 World Cup (New Zealand 2015) by khattab02: 7:56am On Jun 07, 2015 |
Well.. All these while I was holding my own on whether to play a draw and avoid the Germans or wins and get them.
The point is at one stage in time you still get to meet them and if our situation was a must win to qualify and meet the Germans many wouldn't mind as along as we qualify.
They have their own game plan we too have ours, either side would succeed.

joxxy01: Nigeria are not automatically thru to the rounds of 16 until after sunday matches....if fiji gets beaten by uzbekistan then we qualify automoticaly not minding if we loose or win.
We are corrently 4th placed in the group of best 3rd with just a game to spare. So our chances of making it is slightly no Do or Die. gbam! U korrect! |

kannymoore: I respect your analysis but I still stand that because a striker doesn't help out as much in defensive duties, he is labelled as inferior to one who joins in defending.
You mentioned Messi et al under Enrique.. what about Messi under Guardiola nko? Was he winning balls back then?
NO.
Not all players are cut out to be "all rounders". Heck.. no matter how well rounded defensive wise Bale and Ronaldo are, they still aren't as good as Neymar and Messi. Opari! Lol!
Meanwhile, the mass defence Mass attack counter attacking strategy as being the best is a myth.
The best form of counter-attack is done in two or three medium-to-long range passes. Done in such a way that when the ball finallykisses the net, the opposition won't know what hit them. Running up and down will only tire your players out the more.
Abi u no dey see Barca's counter attacking?
Two out of the trio of attackers are always upfront..always!.. the pace of the counterattack sometimes is so swift that before the opponent fit even pronounce "counter-att.." ball don already enter net!
! lol.... U no go kill me with ya counter attack analysis... Counter att...... Inside the net already Haha... #weldone guys! You guys are on top! |

chaberry: You said we're the African champion, does that makes us unbeatable? The Argentina that you mention, were they not the champion of their own region? Yet still, they were eliminated at the group stage. When Ghana won this championship in 2009 where they the champion of Africa? You guys should stop calculating football as if is an arithmetics. AVOID GERMANY NOW SIMPLE just to answer one of ya questions, yes Ghana was the African Champions in 2009 led by Andrew Ayew in Rwanda! |

lol.... Just saw the end quote of the Argentine Coach ''now we 've got to hope for a miracle'' with 2 points? It seems he hasn't study the situation of other groups? It will be very difficult for them to qualify. Verdict: just book the next available ticket and go home and rest! |

Hmmmm........
I have never seen any side of the National team whether in the past being analysed so much like this current U-20 side. It seems from the bench we have pool of talents(promising stars) so much so that the starting line up is not easily set up.
All that is needed now is team work, team play, understanding and less errors and mistakes. I hope they improve on that.
#Ultimate goal is for them to prove themselves later on in the senior team |
