Hello friends, Thanks for bothering to reply to my post. I must say that nairaland is a wonderful place to be in as you can voice your opinion without fear or favour. I am pleased to inform the house that my missus is now here. I didn't have to wait for 3 months to do the application and the BHC gave her the stuff in less than a week. Thanks all and lets keep the love on, |
Hello everyone, I am pleased to inform you that I have gotten the Student Visa though after some stress by the BHC. I am now faced with applying for my wife as a dependent. I will like someone who is experienced in this to tell me how to go about it as I wan her to get in here ASAP. I know that among other things, one needs to get a tenancy agreement. I am about to move into a shared house. is the kind of accommodation that I need to get specific or should I just get a place? Do I have to wait for 3months to get the 3months statement or should I send it like that. Pls I need honest and experienced answers to help me out. Thanks for everything |
Paribus and f6: Thanks a lot for the heart felt reply. My special thanks goes to Paribus. I think he actually feels me as he hit the nail in the head in a number of ways. I felt rather encougared by the post and I am now inclined to pursue my application first of all because having my wife in Nigeria is tie to the country. I actually have a sponsor but taking Paribus' opinion, it may not be very good if it were someone else sponsoring and you want to bring your spouse into it. Anyway, thanks once again. I still will like to hear any other suggestions that will help me. Merry Christmas all. |
Thanks guys and girls for everything. I live in the South West (though currently am still in the UK) and I am beginning to wonder if I should apply through Abuja or Lagos since lagos BHC is so paranoid. The school international office here in the UK called BHC and they said that it takes about 2weeks to get the Visas as I will be applying early January with the hope of travelling early Feb. I am now worried but I still hope to apply early January. I guess I may have to apply alone 1st of all but I am really wondering how easy it will be for my wife to join me afterwards, more sugggestions brothers and sisters, more suggestions, |
why wont people run away when the country has no plans for them except they are connected? ![]() |
Funkybaby, I don't mean to turn this thread to a mud-slinging one. The aim is not to castigate the Nigerian Government but to bring up the issue of recklessness on the roads for discussion so that everybody will gain from it and become cautious. You don't hear of tyres bursting on the high way that often here in the UK or any other developed country (that is not to bring my dear Naija down) because the MOT (outfit that ensures that your car is road-worthy for the year) will not even allow you to take the car to the road if they get a hint of how old the tyres or (indeed any other part of the car) are. Again, if you noticed, the tread was a Question, which means that the poster (me) is not sure of the cause and it is a well know fact that in most cases of sudden burst tyres on the highway, the cause is often due to (not exclusively) old wornout tyres. Another thing is that everyone knows how roughly government officials drive around. You seldom know when the Prime Minister here passes you by let alone the head of a Political party or even a Member of Parliarment. So this is possibly a cause. So pls, this tread is meant to educate and not to turn to a mud-slinging one, Thanks for your reply anyway. |
Hi guys, I keep up pace with happenings in Nigeria by reading the Papers online. It is really a thing of shame to hear about the the kind of things that happens in Nigerian Roads. Pls lets discuss this and how we can make it better especially now that many people wiil be travelling for the festivities back home in Nigeria. I was inspired to start this thread by the story in The Vanguard of today: http://www.vanguardngr.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3127&Itemid=0 It even happens to the government officials, How can their tyre burst all of a sudden abi government dey use Tokunbo tyres too? Pls feel free to contribute, |
Thanks guys for the suggestions. Will welcome any further suggestions, thanks again. Hope to visit the place early January next year. bye |
Hi guys, I want to give my wife a treat. can you suggest a good hotel in Ilorin or Jos that has a swimming pool (Average cost) where we can stay? It just struck my mind and I know little or nothing about the town. Thanks in advance, |
Hi guys, still waiting to hear from you!!!!!, |
Hi, you did not say how long you've stayed in Finland and what exactly you are doing there. For me, I am in London and I can say that it is worth it for sure. I cannot start telling you everything but trust me, its worth it. Meanwhile, your stay abroad and psyche depends a lot on who is around you. Some parts of London is like Lagos, I don't mean as per infrastructure, but with respect to the number of Nigerians you see, I attended a meeting (end of year) of my Villagers here in London, not my LGA , my Village!!! Cheers |
Hi folks, I have been greatly blessed by your honest input to this forum and I must thank the administrators of the forum for a job well done. Please I need your honest opinion on this matter. I just got an admission to do a PG programme in London. I am currently in London but will be coming back home late this month to apply for the student Visa as I am meant to start in Feb. My wife is currently a copper back home and I just want to ask if it is wise to apply together, that is with her as my dependent or if I should go first and then she will apply afterwards. I know that I stand a good chance because I have been to the UK about 3 times in the past 4 years without over staying but you never know with these people. Please I'd like your honest opinion on this esp if you have had thesame experience. Thanks Regards |
I know that it may seem like fun now, but trust me, it will turn sour and leave you with and enduring bitter taste as like some guys have pointed out, you have a lot to loose , both in your office and at home and I am sure you wont like to let hell loose in those areas SOLUTION: Appease your wife by doing something she really likes and get her into a good mood. Then tactfully tell her about it. It may seem foolish now as I say it but it will end up making her trust you and love you more. I am married myself and ds has happened to me and I did just what I told you and got a hot kiss from my wife. Finally, kissing or touching is as good as the main thing itself, so if you believe in God, ask Him for forgiveness and peace, Cheers, |
