Their warning say series of bombs to be expected. I hope they are taken seriously next time and that no innocent life is ever involved. |
The bombs went off as warned and it was aired live on AIT and Aljazeera. Click the link below for more info. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-413520.0.html |
Its really unfortunate. See the thread below for more information. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-413520.0.html |
My main worry is that this will evolve from "peaceful" bombing where no life is lost as there was fore-warning, to dangerous bombing as the Middle East and Pakistan is known for. If government continues to toy with them (which I can bet you will definitely be the case) the above may happen and even spread to the heart of government. I agree with the person who talked about criminalizing the whole thing as was the case with kidnapping. Thieves did not know that they could use kidnapping to net a lot of money until it started in 9ja Delta. I hope it does not become the case this time around. I am really scared that we are as ugly in 9ja as our enemies make us to be. If all the events that have been unfolding in 9ja lately does not spell out terrorism, please tell me what else does? Failure of government is like a man that has a stroke. When the head is seriously incapacitated, the whole body is just a ticking time bomb. |
The Bomb squad chose to escourt the Governors rather than securing the area. The AIT presenter who is still interviewing people in site even picked up some of the remains of one of the shattered cars and no one stopped him. My question is, why will they hold the meeting with the elders of the Niger Delta without involving the youths? |
The first explosion was said to have happened just after the Governor's convoy passed. A thick smoke engulfed the whole place. My question is that if there was a security alert, why wasn't it taken seriously? |
2 explosion took place around 11:30am. The people in the hall evacuated immediately and the meeting was suspended immediately. The 1st one went off when Gen. Owoye Azazzi was speaking and the other one took place just afterwards. Imo, Delta and Edo governors all ran for their lives. You can see the news on AIT now. |
It was said to be at the amnesty gathering in Warri with some governors including the Edo State governor seated in the Hall at the time of the incident. MEND is being implicated but the details are still shady but tune in to AIT as they might repeat it again. Details of the event to follow. Source: AIT |
Just in from AIT. Details to follow. See the youtube link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZ0qKdJUJ0U |
What does it mean to be a non-indigene in your own country because you are not living in the place where your parents are from?? Obama was born in Hawaii and he is an Illinois senator although both of his parents are not from Illinois. does that mean that he is a non-indigene of Illinois?!! Confused country. Even if 9ja breaks up, will the individual states like one another suddenly and throw away their indigene and non-indigene mentality? Confused country!! |
The kind life wey we dey live for 9ja!! |
This thread is still on because it is pro Seun. I bet the Aisha2 here may be another id for Seun or one of the moderators and I am not fooled by the female gender of the poster. I do agree that we should let things rest but it is sad that the aftermath of all this is the loss of credibility of the forum which may buttress the saying "Can any good thing come out of Nigeria" |
Well said. President Seun and Cabal/Kitchen cabinet chairman Kosovo, take note!! |
I will be affected greatly if AIT goes off air permanently as they are the only way to learn about the goings on in Nigeria when I am not in the country. I hope Ray Dokpesi learns his lessons on time. I pray that Channels TV will come of age and have their channel available outside Africa as they will fill in big time for AIT should they decide to go south. |
Read this article: The operations of DAAR Communications Plc, Nigeria’s mega private television network, ground to a halt today as its international and national network signals were taken off air. AIT may still be able to produce local programs on UHF. AIT Television is the major service of DAAR Communications Plc. a company that was listed on the Nigeria Stock Exchange. Saharareporters had reported in July last year that the company was on the verge of crumbling due to major financial troubles and mismanagement, but its owner, Raymond Dokpesi, shot back in a rejoinder, claiming that the company was in good health. One of the key problems was that despite the company going public in 2008, Mr. Dokpesi had continued to run it not only as a private enterprise, but as a one-man operation. An investor famously described it as "a corporate wreck-in-progress." that owes backlogs of staff salaries. Similarly, in an article in Saharareporters last August, a former member of staff lamented Dokpesi's recklessness and mismanagement. "It is obvious that if DAAR is to be saved, the SEC and NSE should embark on the rescue job before it's too late," he wrote. Sources said the company, which received sole rights to air the recent Under-17 World Cup in Nigeria, now looks forward to the Federal government of Nigeria to pay the debt it owed it for transmitting the FIFA event. from: http://saharareporters.com/real-news/sr-headlines/5477-indebtedness-to-satellite-providers-ait-goes-off-air.html |

True talk ![]() |
I am impressed by what I am watching on AIT now. Some groups are demonstrating in Abuja saying that they are against any form of military intervention. I hope the so called Save Nigerian Group will make an impression tomorrow as they match around nationwide. |
You all know all that has been happening in the country since 1960 and most recently, in the past 100 days. I was watching Focus Nigeria on AIT today and I heard some groups saying that they will be embarking on a nationwide demonstration to encourage: 1. FEC to declare Yar'adua incompetent. 2. Jonathan to dissolve the Cabinet and reconstitute a sensible and loyal one. 3. The house to invoke the relevant section and impeach Yar'ardua. I have seen that everyone is running round in circles although we all know the right thing. Why can't the house impeach the president? Why can't Jonathan dissolve the cabinet as he is supposed to be the chairman of the FEC? I understand that 12 ministers wrote jointly to him on Friday that he cannot remove them and that he is just acting in name and occupying space. Why is Jonathan seating like a space waster that they say he is? Well, demonstrations never work in Nigeria. I honestly believe that the Wednesday demonstration will be a flop like every other demonstration as Nigerians never come out en masse for demonstrations as we expect others to take the risk but we all want the benefit. Well, demonstration or not, I believe that the answer lies both in hands of the House and Mr. Jonathan. |
I don't know patrick very well but I like the segment of his speech that is aired on AIT just before Focus Nigeria. Despite his bombastic speeches, he does make a lot of sense. Can any Edo man in the house tell me more about him? |
I love listening to this guy!! kai no be small. What do you guys think? (Get your dictionary out) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmQCbl9vXgs |
M Ahmadu is the name I saw on the clip as the leader of the hoodlums. I couldn't make out the name of the other one. One of them was even saying that the people should be shot in the chest and not on the head as he wanted to take the poor guy's hat. Is it difficult to get them and make them confess to their crime and make them swallow their own medicine? |
It doesn't matter where it happened. The fact is that it occurred in Nigeria. The name of the police man in charge was shown in the clip. If we all can see this, I presume that the authorities can as well. I posted the gory picture of the armed robbery attack on the Benin-Ore road. It simply means that both the armed robbers and the police have the same code of conduct. |
They are recommending a judiciary enquiry into the event in the senate right now. What do you guys think is the appropriate step to be taken by the senate to address this menace? |
The picture is disturbing and it cannot be put into words hence its everywhere. The Senators debating it in the house all have a copy of it and it has just been shown uncensored on NTA. Watch NTA now and see for yourself. |
Lets start by talking about the problem. I know that we are all talk but no action but let them talk. Let this not end like Just like the APO killings. Listen to the Senators. I hope they make a solid input and bring the perpetrators and the police to book. |
Was a bus really commanded to run over them? |
The motion is supported by all senators present and they have agreed to surmmon the IG of police and the Head of road safety to appear before them to give account of what happened. |
Senator Ayogu Eze just raised the motion on the floor of the house about this disturbance with overwhelming support of all the senators and they are saying that this is a significance of the current anarchy in the country. Tune in to NTA now and watch. |
