da spyder great to know you are progressing wit your project, i believe it will come out fine
i went to the site today and spoke with the engineer as regards the use of 16mm and not 12mm, he said he noticed that water comes out of a portion of the land and he does not want to take chances(he took me a land that looks exactly like mine, i think i was convince) also i noticed a concrete beam round the foundation before they started to lay the blocks and i asked why the concrete beam he then told me it is to allow the foundation to have a firm grip before setting the blocks and to allow the building from cracking.

please oga spyder, what is your take about my explanation because the concrete beam with iron rod will cost extra 55k +.

spyder8080,am alone and all those that have kept this thread rolling may the good lord make you see the end of your project,not just seeing it but living in it(amen|).

this will be the second topic that has caught my fancy and highly informative
@spyder
im about to build a 5 bedroom duplex i.e a living room and 2 bedroom downstairs and 3 bedroom and a private living room upstairs. i have done the setting of the blocks for the foundation, i have not done the German floor for my bricklayer advise  i put the pillar before the German floor. my question is that he advise that i use a 16mm pillar for the ground floor but a colleague of mine who has finished his says 12 mm will do good, considering the price a 12mm is OK but i need your wealth of advise.

all the site visited i see a 3 coach of blocks before the window but you are saying 4 is good could you make see reason in a layman's language cos i love to do things differently not minding the cost sometimes.

@ ambyzown

glad to hear your view, my mechanic agreed with you butt other users in my office decline saying that it is not for this temperate region.one said he had to connect his fan directly.the manual says the temperature must be around 200 degree b/4 picking up
AutosToyota Sienna 1999/2000 Mode, Cooling Systeml by kingboy(op): 9:13am On Mar 19, 2011
dear all, i noticed something in my engine, after ignition my cooling fan does not rotate until the temperature increases.
i have asked around and people said it is abnormal others says it has to do with the manufacturer and as long as it is not over heating its okay.

your candid and professional view is welcome

@COOLLANY
GREAT SAYING, I ADVISE HIM TO RETURN TO THE MECHANIC,FORTUNATELY HE AGREED TO TAKE IT TO LADIPO FOR FIN TUNING AND THAT THE ENGINE SITTING BELOW THE ENGINE COULD BE THE REASON FOR THIS JERKING.

IN ALL AREA I AM ENJOYING THIS AVAILING ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO CHECK MY SIENNA AND LISTEN TO THE STRANGEST OF NOISE ALSO I NOTICED THAT WHEN DRIVING WITH THE AC ON YOU RARELY HEAR ANYTHING GOING ON THE ROAD, I ADVISE THAT ONCE IN A WHILE(IT WONT KILL) WE SHOULD LOWER THE GLASSES FOR FRESH AIR AND TO LISTEN TO ANYTHING STRANGE ESPECIALLY ON A BUMPY ROAD.
Car TalkRe: Causes Of A Transmission Problem by kingboy(op): 7:54am On Jan 20, 2011
@ coollanny
the gear has been replaced and fixed after long driving because the guy said he was given one week's grace on the gear.
we noticed heavy jerk and the seems to be softer than expected also some changes was noticed which was during the Drive (a feel of jerk is noticed which is not like that b4.

hope this is ok or he needs to change it.
Car TalkRe: Causes Of A Transmission Problem by kingboy(op): 7:53am On Jan 17, 2011
see what i mean the maintenance thing is a good idea and Nigerians are shy about it.
@coollany
i dont mind you given us tips like "do you know" i.e if you have things that you know we should digest when it has to do with mtce of cars
Car TalkRe: Causes Of A Transmission Problem by kingboy(op): 7:55am On Jan 14, 2011
@coollany an others
i suggest we talk more about maintenance tips,atleast this will wake up our sleeping mtce culture
Car TalkRe: Causes Of A Transmission Problem by kingboy(op): 5:36pm On Jan 13, 2011
@coollany bro yo blow my mind, i am an engineer (not a practicing at that), i know what keeps the engine running his proper maintenance and i totally agree with you.about the jerking i will change the engine sitting below the engine cos i have changed that on top.its nice talking with you will keep you posted on progress report.
Car TalkRe: Causes Of A Transmission Problem by kingboy(op): 7:55am On Jan 13, 2011
@coollany
the mechanic changed the pump but later found out that the fibre and some metal stuff are broken and he advise a change(the said gear use the same type with Camry gear)

i notice that my rpm is below 1 and when my gear is changed from P to R you feel some kind of force like the engine is about to come down,i hope that this is not a sign and how often is it advise to change the ATF oil(most mechanic will tell you the oil that came with it is good)
also notice when i am reversing uphill i have to depress the pedal for it to climb.

i am asking all this just to be on the safer side,for i love my vehicle to be in good order.
Car TalkCauses Of A Transmission Problem by kingboy(op): 5:53pm On Jan 12, 2011
A friend's Toyota sienna just wont move on the highway, the suv was later towed to his mechanic workshop,they later told him the gear is bad.
my question now is how do you know that the gear is about to have a problem(my friend said the ATF was well gauge)what then could have gone wrong that the user need to put into consideration.
