Politics / Re: A Reply To Reno: Peter Obi Didn't Build A School From Scratch by kingi777: 7:32am On Apr 23
Peter built and renovated many primary, secondary and tertiary schools to international standards. Equipped them with modern equipment such as computers and school buses. His works are all over the place for verification. Forget politics, Peter Obi is not a typical Nigerian politician that uses projects to loot funds like many do. Go to Imo State and see schools and hospitals built even in bushes in every community by Rochas's administration; the buildings are dillapidated and cannot be used because they are substandard white elephant projects used to loot money. When the righteous rule, the people rejoice but when the wicked rule, the people gnash their teeth. May God Almighty bless Nigeria with good leaders.

President Tinubu, please sir, anything you can do to take the Naira back to N700 or less, please do it. I was shocked to buy a medical test kit N19,500 2 days ago. Something that used to be 3k about 10years ago, became 8/9k last year and now jumped to N19,500. This dollar issue is affecting everything making salary to look worthless. Most things use for research in science and medicine are imported. Even one can't afford to go for foreign conference again. Please, Mr President, if the naira stability is the only thing you can achieve, God will bless you more sir.

AEDC gave us meter in 2021, some are on Band B, some are on Band C, when I complained, the marketing manager, said I should be happy that my house got 5 meters for different flats. That meters were mend for those on Band B because it generates more money for them. So, some flats are using Band B in Band C area, paying more than normal.

Politics / Re: ‘Salako Unqualified To Be MLSCN Chair,’ Medical Scientists Reject Appointee. by kingi777: 1:44pm On Feb 22
President Tinubu didn't know the politics Medical Doctors played here. Everyone knows that the Medical Laboratory Scientists are number one enemy of the Pathologists(Medical Doctors that specialised in Laboratory Medicine). The Pathologists feel the Hospital Laboratory is exclusively for them, as they should head it and direct the affairs, while Medical Lab Scientists should be under them and serve them. On the other hand, the Medical Laboratory Scientists feel the lab is their home as they do not have any say in other area of the hospital and see Pathologists as intruders. Now, President Tinubu made a Pathologist who want Medical Lab Scientists to be eliminated from the hospital environment as the chairman of Board of the regulatory body. This means the game plan of Medical Doctors is working as they have use the Minister who is their member to impose someone who has no business with MLSCN. I hope President Tinubu understands the politics here and correct the anomaly.

Politics / Medical Laboratory Scientists Rejects Dr. Salako As MLSCN Board Chairman by kingi777: 9:20am On Feb 22
The Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists has rejected the appointment of Dr. Babajide Salako as the Chairman of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
Dr. Casmir Ifeanyi, President of the association, asserted that Salako’s appointment blatantly violated the Act establishing the council in a press conference held in Abuja on Monday.
The claims for rejection
According to Ifeanyi, Salako falls short of the criteria outlined in Section 3, subsection 1(a) of the Act CAP (M25) LFN 2004.
The Act stipulates that the council’s chairman must be a “qualified Fellow of the council with five years’ post-qualification experience,” and the appointment should be made by the president based on the minister’s recommendation from a list of fellows submitted by the council.
Expressing dismay, Ifeanyi emphasized that Salako’s appointment did not meet any of the credentials outlined in Section 3 of the Act.
He urged President Bola Tinubu to reconsider the appointment and nominate a qualified individual who complies with the legal requirements.
The Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists further called on the National Assembly to launch an investigation into the appointment of Dr. Salako as the chairman of the MLSCN governing board.
Ifeanyi pointed out that such disregard for the law by high-ranking government officials undermines the legislative process and sets a dangerous precedent.
In a stern message, Ifeanyi stated,
• “The message conveyed by the purported appointment is simply that laws made by the legislature and duly signed by the president can be disobeyed by highly placed government officials only to achieve private goals.”
The association appealed to President Bola Tinubu to rectify the error promptly by retracting Dr Salako’s appointment and ensuring strict adherence to the law in the selection of a replacement for the crucial position.

Former President Buhari might have been overwhelmed with challenges of providing good leadership in Nigeria making him look like the worst President the country ever had but we must give it to him that he respected human sanctity. He wasn't going against those perceived to be his political opponents. On Kanu's case, he would've eliminated him if he wanted without noise.

Tinubu and Wike should understand that most people especially civil servants earn an average of 2 million naira per annum. Most of them cannot save upto 1million in a year. Most went to suburbs of FCT to build their houses, you now came to power and increased C of O to 5million naira b4 reducing it to 3.5million naira any where in FCT. Meaning the government don't want the common man to breath and own a house. You want to generate IGR to maintain your lifestyle of flying private jet at the detriment of the people. Because you have billions, so you think everyone find it easy or opportuned to make 1 million naira easily. Insensitive government.

Most of the soups of South East people are cooked with stock fish (okporoko) which is salty. Drinking alcohol is normal like water at any time of the day. I think the high prevalence rate of hypertension could be associated to habit.

An average core Fulani/Hausa moslems hate Christians, that's why they kill their christian hostages without remorse any where they are. They hardly vote Christians for any position, would hardly offer admission into universities for good courses or jobs in their area. Other Nigerian moslems are Liberal especially from the middle belt to southern Nigeria. This killings in the cattle market abode in Abia State shows how wicked some people can be.

bhella10:
They were united when they gave Obi 98% of their votes. So that's not why it would be really difficult for an umu chineke. No offense but that's something to think about
In 1999, all Nigerians supported the South West, in 2007, all Nigerians supported the North West; same for South South in 2011. If there's equity and justice, 2023 is clearly the turn for the South East and they really got the support from North Central; significant support from the North East states of Gombe, Taraba and Adamawa; South West and South South. So is it South East that would not support their own? If they had not, you would still blame them that they are not united. May God bless Nigerians who truly believe in her motto which is Unity and Faith, Peace and Progress. May the Almighty heal our country.

Former President Buhari, a core northern champion in his eight years of governance couldn't rehabilitate KD refinery, so it's you, a Southern minister that would make it work? Has the PH refinery started working? December production deadline is at hand...Well, I think the strategy is just give them false hope. Just say something they want to hear. Never say the truth as it's an abomination.

President Tinubu should appreciate Sunday Igboho and Nnamdi Kanu for championing their agitation which the core Muslim North see as threats. Without the agitation, the North would've felt very much comfortable to retain power. Not relinquishing power to the south would've unified the various southern tribes which would've made the core North uncomfortable.

Politics / Re: God Forbid We Accept A Christian As Minister Of FCT, Abuja Is For Muslims by kingi777: 10:57am On Oct 21, 2023
The northern moslems are seriously interested in Abuja and Nasarawa State. Go to area 11, Abuja and see them everywhere at FCTA. Infact most indigenous natives are mandated to convert to Muslim in order to be made traditional rulers of their domain. So a Christian becoming the minister is strange and unacceptable to them. In Nasarawa State, the proposed airport has been named Othman Danfodio which translates to the State being in the grip of Islam. Even if a Christian wins in Nasarawa State, he won't be allowed. So, there's a coded Jihad going on in Nigeria especially in northern Nigeria. For most northern Muslims, no Christian who they refer to as infidels should rule Nigeria. Even in ministries, agencies and departments, they hold important positions. Go to universities, they would rather give a chadian / Nigerien Muslim good courses like medicine than an indigenous Christian. The President, coming from a liberal Muslim background should correct the anomalies for a peaceful coexistence of all Nigerians.

Some people paint Chairman of a Board to be ordinary not knowing that the seat has political power to summon, query and sack any erring appointee. The 25 year old Chairman having finished NYSC last year ought to have started from level 9 or at most level 12 but providence has made him and put him in position to employ his peers and those far above him. Some make it early in life while others take time to break through. So it's all about time and chance.

I like governor Sule as a person considering his intelligence, polishness and interaction with the western world but it's like there's a force that make most of our leaders to underperform in governance.

I don't know why most of the motorcycles in Abuja don't have plate numbers? Moreover, most of the motorcycle riders disobey traffic rules. They are also very violent and carry weapons about. I think government should regulate them by ensuring they are registered. When they ply routes prohibited for them, they can pay fine to serve as a deterrent.

The poster (Reno) of the 2 adverts cropped out the full information about Kano advert but displayed that of Anambra clearly for propaganda yet no one is countering that. The truth is that the Kano job is a federal teaching hospital job like UNTH or NAUTH in the East while that of Anambra is a state job (though would've been diplomatic by not putting restrictions which could be due to lack of exposure by the responsible person with other Nigerians). Some of us worked in northern Nigeria as medical personnel for years before quiting and that’s why they always have needs for willing qualified hands to work in different parts of the states especially the rural areas.
The poster (Reno) has vowed to use whatever means to attack the Igbos in retaliation to his perceived attack on himself and his family due to their different political leanings. So his postings is a means to blackmail the Igbos.

I think the man at the helm of affairs in this country wants to empower his people to be power brokers just like he used the state he governed to gather resources he used to ascend to power. An average man should braze up for hardship as all the means to gather liquid (money) for solidification of power must be utilised to the fullest. Petrol, gas, diesel are increasing in price at the benefit of few that run the biz. Tax will increase too. People have to understand how cartel men work. Common man, sorry o; pele.

NUC orders staff audit in federal varsities
By Deborah Tolu-Kolawole
17th September 2023
The National Universities Commission has ordered an audit of academic and non-academic staff of federal universities in the country, Sunday PUNCH learnt on Saturday.
A letter signed by the acting Executive Secretary of the commission, Chris Maiyaki, dated September 14, 2023 and addressed to all Vice-Chancellors, noted that the order followed a permission granted by the Minister of Education, Prof Tahir Mamman.

The message read, “The National Universities Commission has briefed the Honourable Minister of Education on the need for a manpower audit, preparatory to a well-informed manpower planning befitting the exponential expansion being experienced in the Nigerian university system.
“Consequently, the Honourable Minister of Education has directed Vice-Chancellors of all Nigerian universities to conduct a manpower audit in their respective institutions. The reports of the envisaged audit should encapsulate their staffing profiles including nominal rolls with staff file numbers according to their full time, visiting or adjunct categories, to be submitted in both hard and soft copies through the Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission, for onward transmission to the good offices of the Honourable Minister of Education.”
While indicating the address the information should be forwarded to, the message added, “I am to emphasise that there is some degree of urgency implicit in the ministerial directive, which responses are expected on or before Monday, 9 October, 2023.

I pray it works o. The president has interest in the high price of petrol and it's one of the reason the NNPC GMD is still being retained. How can you invest billions of dollars in a private refinery and allow low price of the products?
Politics / Re: Over N1 Trillion Saved Since Subsidy Removal, Says Tinubu by kingi777: 6:21am On Aug 01, 2023
Use the savings to refurbish our moribund refineries or build modular refineries in each state. Establish many compressed natural gas stations or other alternative fuels across states, cities and towns. Encourage solar powered electricity supply to support stability of normal conventional electricity supply across the country for at least 12 hours daily during day time eg 6am to 6pm.
Why is the President not even talking of solving the root problem of subsidy which is building refineries? I guess all these gimmicks is to prepare ground for the private refinery in Lagos to monopolise refining and sales of petroleum products so as to recoup the huge money they invested.
