The apois identify more as Yorubas than ijaws. Surely the apois have half ijaw ancestry and half Yoruba ancestry, but over the centuries, they have assimilated the Yoruba culture to the extent that they easily pass more for Yoruba than ijaw. In other words, they have been yorubanized.

One of his parent can be Ijaw while the other is Yoruba which I’m not denying but why saying he ain’t Yoruba??
Sowore is a full blooded Ijaw man not Yoruba, it was even written on his Wikipedia page that he is Ijaw

Lol, the only reason why Buhari can hold those people prisoners for long was simply because they are northerners.

In a democracy, A sitting president of a certain tribe cannot hold other people from a different tribe hostage for that long years coz people will protest until he succumb coz Nigeria is all about tribal interest.

If the person help prisoner were to be Yoruba, south-south, it would have been the same result.

Just imagine Buhari holding Sowore hostage for 1year, and imagine what kind of movement will spring up in the Southwest. It’s just common sense, stop adducing too much praise to Kanu Caz he was used indirectly to lessen the vote turnout in the SE which led to the defeat of Atiku. It’s all a game
Sowore is one of the Ijaw in Ondo

Sowore is not a Yoruba

PoliticsOyetola To Build 120-bed Wards As Specialist Hospital Gets Facelift by KingOdart(op): 12:21pm On Aug 01, 2019
OSUN State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has approved the expansion of the state’s specialist hospital in Osogbo with the construction of 120-bed wards and a 30-flat doctors’ quarters.

The move is seen as another boost to healthcare services.

According to the Supervisor for Works, Mr. Remi Omowaye, the governor will perform the turning of sod of the project this month.

The project is part of the ongoing revitalisation of the state’s Specialist Hospital in Asubiaro, Osogbo, the state capital.

Omowaye spoke during an inspection tour of the ongoing face-lift of the hospital on Tuesday.

With him during the inspection were members of the state’s Health Revitalisation Committee, Dr. Simeon Adeyemi Afolayan and Dr. Rafiu Isamotu.

Afolayan said: “This project started barely a week ago, and now people can testify to the infrastructural development this place has witnessed.

“As it is, work is ongoing at the laboratory section, accident and emergency unit, central blood bank unit, trauma centre, children ward, theatre section among others.

“This is a demonstration of extreme commitment to the welfare and well-being of the citizens by the Osun State government.

“We are grateful to the government because when these projects are completed, they will go a long way to support the health needs of the people, particularly those that cannot afford to go to private hospitals for medical care.”

Omowaye reiterated Oyetola administration’s resolve to ensure that all citizens have access to quality healthcare facilities in the state.

He said health sector revitalisation had been designed to cater to the needs of every section in the health sector, adding that both infrastructure and personnel welfare will be affected.

He said: “This place is one of the hospitals visited by the governor a few weeks ago and as a matter of fact, this hospital has witnessed a significant transformation and total turnaround.

“In addition to the ongoing reconstruction of the hospitals across the state, we are expecting Mr. Governor to by next week flag-off the construction of 120-bed wards and 30-bedroom doctors flats in this hospital.

“We are currently working on the Ejigbo hospital which is 80 per cent completed as well as the Ifetedo hospital. This is in addition to the revitalisation of 332 Primary Healthcare Centres out of which more than 100 will be ready by this month.”

PoliticsOyetola Presents N1.13bn Bond Certificate To 189 Retirees In Osun by KingOdart(op): 12:03pm On Aug 01, 2019
About 189 retirees in Osun State will share over one billion naira as part of their retirement benefits in the eight series of presentation of retirement bond certificates to retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme.

The beneficiaries who were excited as they received their bond certificates from Governor Adegboyega Oyetola at a ceremony in Osogbo, the state capital expressed appreciation to Governor Oyetola.

Oyetola who was represented by his Deputy Benedict Alabi, announced that N474, 753,130 would be shared among retired 105 Local Government employees while N538,696,783 will be for 84 retirees who were primary school teachers.

He also reiterated the commitment of his administration to the welfare of all active and retired workers.

Oyetola said: “I want to thank all pensioners in the State for your patience and understanding which most of you have demonstrated from the inception of this administration.

“I want you to develop trust in our government. My government will never renege on our campaign promises to all the good people of the State. Your welfare is our priority and we will continue to manage and utilise our meagre resources to the benefits of all the people, including the worker, both active and passive.”

The Governor once again debunked rumours that the state had received another tranche of Parish Club refund.

“The Parish Club fund is not ready. Our government is transparent. If it is ready everybody will know because it will be announced to the public and it will be utilised to the benefit of all. We crave for patience on the part of the retirees. My government loves and cares about you.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Local government Staff Pension, Mr Kayode Aliu in his welcome address said there has been tremendous achievements such as regular remittances into employers Retirement Savings account, finding of the Redemption Fund and settlement of death benefits of deceased contributors.

While congratulating the recipients of the bond certificates, Alabi hinted that it would not have been possible if not for the support of Governor Oyetola.

Osun Head of Service, Dr. Oyebade Olowogboyega, said the beneficiaries were the eighth batch to collect their retirement bond certificates and he thanked Governor Oyetola for his being a compassionate leader.

InvestmentNigeria Records $15bn Investments In Six Months by KingOdart(op): 11:18am On Aug 01, 2019
Between January and June this year, the Nigerian economy recorded a total investment commitment of $15.15bn in various sectors of the economy, the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission has said.

Figures obtained from the NIPC showed that the $15.15bn proposed investments were made for 43 projects in 12 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Comparatively, the proposed investments for the first half of this year showed a 67 per cent decline when compared to the corresponding period of 2018.

Investments commitments are made by would-be investors in specific sectors of the economy, which the NIPC follows up to ensure its full maturity and benefits to the economy.

According to NIPC records, mining and quarrying recorded investment announcements of $12.3bn, reflecting 81 per cent of the total investment proposals made.

Manufacturing recorded $2.2bn worth of investment proposals announced.

Within the period under review, finance and insurance recorded $200m investment proposals while information and communication recorded $200m.

It reads in part, “In the period, $15.15bn of announcements were tracked through the NIPC. The report showed that a total of 43 projects across 12 states and Federal Capital Territory were announced from investors in 20 countries.

“Comparatively, the announcements made in the first half of 2019 were 67 per cent less in value than the announcements in the same period of 2018.

“This was probably due to many investors waiting for the conclusion of national elections and handover in the first half of 2019.

“The major destination was the Niger-Delta region with 77 per cent, followed by Ondo State at seven per cent, and Lagos State at four per cent of the value announced.”

The records showed further that Morocco recorded investments commitments of $2.1bn while Nigerian local investors made investment commitments of $1.3bn.

It added that investors from Malaysia made investment commitments of $0.9bn, while other unnamed nations cumulatively made investment commitments of $3.5bn.
