YungTemy: Days passed... It was finally Angels birthday. I made sure I was the first to text her, so I woke very early in the morning. ''What present can I get her'' I wondered. ''or should I get her a teddy bear or a shoe''?. All these rhetorical questions went through my mind. ''This girl na big babe o, make I no go fall my hand o'', I wondered. ''okay, first thing in the morning I will call Mayson, he is good at this kind of stuffs''. I therefore went back to sleep, feeling a little bit satisfied that there will be a solution in the morning.
I had a knock on my door very early in the morning. I was really enjoying my sleep, my brother Ty, laid right next to me.
Me: Abeg, go check who be that( I ordered as a big brother of the house)
Ty: who be that (my little brother shouted, I could tell he was still feeling very sleepy)
Emafidon: Na me Emafidon.
Me: wetin this idiot dey find again (I said to myself)
Emafidon: abeg, you fit borrow me your broom and packer, I wan use am sweep my room.
This was a regular trend on campus. Students love borrowing things alot. It amuses me. They'd borrow clothes, foodstuffs, iron, hot plates, dvd player, headset, shoes, bags. Just to name a few. In fact, there can even go as far as borrowing your under wear. It's that terrible.
Me: TY abeg give am the broom and packer at the back of that door.
Ema: thank you, I go return am after I finish.
I smiled, we all know that's not possible. Over here in my school, once you borrow something out, you'd be the one begging for your own property back. Sometimes you might not even get it back again. It's that bad.
''This my yeye neighbour don ruin my sleep'' I said to myself. ''I better call mayson right away''
Me: hello
Mayson: Temy afa na. How was your night?
Me: Fine o, how was yours?
Mayson: fine thank you. Today na your upcoming babe birthday, how e wan be?
Me: That's exactly why I called you. I was thinking of getting her a present, but I don't know which. I'm confused.
Mayson: which yeye present, you don blow the babe?
Me: No
Mayson: then why you wan buy am present, see this guy o?
Me: I was thinking she'd feel more happier if she gets one from me.
Mayson: lover boy. Temy, your presence at the party is all that matters. You get. Don't go too far, take it slowly.
Me: okay bro. Thanks. I will come over to your place to pick you up. Is Thompson coming along with us.
Mayson: yes of course. Including Marvis.
Me: you invited Marvis?
Marvis, was also a friend of mine, we weren't that close. He was this fresh lanky dude. All the girls wanted him. He was just to fly
Mayson: you dey fear. No level. He no go take your babe.
Me: no wahala. Let me take my bathe. I will come over to your place. YungTemy: Days passed... It was finally Angels birthday. YungTemy: Angel: My name is Angela, but you can call me Angel, I'm sorry about the other time. I wasn't in a good mood.
Before she finished her brief speech I was already blushing. I felt like I was in another world, probably paradise.
Angel: Why are you blushing?
Me: Noo, I am just happy. I just cant believe that you're actually right here by my side talking to me.
Angel: Aww, that's so cute. I have heard alot about you. I heard you are intelligent. And this pastor just confirmed it.
"me intelligent, I pray o" I said to myself. I am actually just an average student. Although I put in my best in what I do but that doesn't make intelligent. I therefore had to capitalize on that, if I wanted to get what I want.
Me: I am trying o. Infact do you know I got the highest score in our post ume exam. I love to read alot. Before the professor even start to teach I already know what he is about to say. My friends say I should reduce the way I read else I'd run mad. (I lied)

The rest of the week was uneventful as the search for Gori's chubby lady proved abortive. On Friday, Gori was in the departmental Hall waiting for the arrival of the lecturer when Promise came around. "Gori." She called out his name as she sat on the tabke facing him. "Promise, good morning." He said grinning. "Your dressing make sense today, keep it up." She commended. Gori was wearing a cream buba and soro with a cream cap, it was a Friday so he needed to dressed like a Yoruba man or so he thought. Promise, on the other hand was putting on an Ankara short gown, her hair packed in a twist, she was a pretty girl and it was Gori's first time of checking her out "Are you going to your in-laws house?" A guy asked from the backseat and everyone around laughed. Gori was embarrassed, he could not take it anymore, so he left his bag and went outside, he saw one big tree right in front of their classroom and sat under, he preferred being alone than being laughed with by his colleagues. "I am sorry." The guy who made jest of him was standing directly in front of him. Gori chuckled and told the guy it was nothing that he came outside because he was bored. "Don't you have friends?" The guy asked. Gori told him his only friend was Promise, the girl in their class. "Well, I am Anthony but you can call me Tony, I am from Enugu State" the guy said sitting close to him. "I'm Gori from Akoko in Ondo state." He replied. "Will you be my friend?"Tony asked. " I don't have friends around, I will like to be your friend, Tony. " he replied. They started their friendship that Friday, exchanged contact and address. Tony promised to check him in the hostel on Saturday. He told Tony he would preferred coming to Tony's hostel instead. They attended lectures together and departed. Gori left home early on Saturday morning as Ken had decided to show him hell. He was never enjoying the room as Ken had turned him into a slave who did dishes, cooked, washed and other. Ken was bullying him and he would steal from his wallet sometimes. He arrived at Tony's hostel around seven thirty in the morning and when Tony opened the door, he was shocked to see him that early morning. "What happened? Why are you here so early?" Tony questioned as he led him into his space. He met a young fair guy laying on the other bed, greetedhim but he never responded. "Your room is lovely" Gori commented as he sat down on the Bed, he narrated what was going on between him and Ken to Tony. "Wetin be im name" the young guy layingdiwn asked in a n hoarse voice . Gori was terrified, how could a young guy abruptly an under twenty young boy possessed such a husky voice. He noticed the guy sat up and marvelled at his handsomeness, his body was filled with different tattoos and he had piercings on his nose and ears.He carried a rough dreaded hair that was shaped into a punk. "No b u I dey follow yarn?" The guy asked again. "His name is Ken, Kenneth." He replied "I b Don, Bills d Don, na me be the only don dey dey control d dons even elder d don" the guy introduced himself. Gori gaze was fixed on the guy tattoos. "U know wetin, let's be friends" the guy said. He dipped his hands into his back pocket and brought out fifteen one thousand naira notes. "Go use this buy clothes and shoes, I go see u later." He said and went out. Gori gave Tony an askance look as he was yet to understood what was going on. How could a sane man give out fifteen thousand, a student for that matter.

Goriola woke up around past four the following morning, took his bath and prepared for lectures. He ate the leftover concortion since Ken never showed up the night before, he got to school few minutes past six, he went into his department and copied the departmental timetable and went into his departmental hall. He sat down till Ten when people were coming in twos, he sat alone, students were trooping in, some were playing, some jisting while some were looking in his direction, laughing. Gori was a clumpsy guy, he was never calm and organised. He was feeling awkward since most of the students' attention was on him. He brought out his bunch of keys and unlock his backpack, the class roared. He saw everybody's attention was on him and he was embarrassed, he brought out his small jotter and started writing a poem. Gori was a great poet, he started writing poems at the age of eight. He would composed a poem for his parents, siblings and friends. He was composing a poem about his "chubby" new friend, Tiwa. "Why are you so uncomposed? " he heard a lady's voice. He raised his head to see a light skinned girl smiling sheepishly at him. "Hello." He managed to say. "You are a new student right?" The girl asked. "Yes. I resumed yesterday." He replied as he continued with his poem. "I am Promise, you?" "Goriola." "Whao.Do you compose this?" She asked picking his jotter. She went through the jotter and was amazed. "You will make a great poet." "Thanks. I want to ask you one question." "Go ahead." "Why are they laughing?" Heasked pointing to a group of girls. She smiled. "Your dress-sense is funny, and you padlocked your school bag." She said smiling hard. He was embarrassed, he buried my head in shame as he remembered Kayode and Tiwa were laughing when he met them. "Stop locking your bag, no one will steal your poems" she said as she collected his Nokia torchlight phone and typed her number. "Call me" She said as she left his seat. It was an hectic day, lectures ended by four, he roamed about the faculty looking for his chubby friend. He left for his hostel around six since his search proved infertiled. He was disappointed. FOUR
“I thought you were angry---‘’ He started to say, then stopped. She had called him Jay! The few people who called him Jay were people he went to school with, and the last time he saw any of them was over ten years ago. Except Yomi, he thought. Then he summoned up courage to look her straight in the eye. Then it hit him. “Isabella!” He screamed. The face and the seductive sway of the hips never really changed.
She sat down on the sofa across from him, and rolled her eyes playfully. “You used to call me Ella.”
For a few moments, there was an unnatural silence. You could hear a pin drop in the room. The whole scenario seemed surreal. Ella got up from her chair, stooped in front of him and held his hands.
“I’m really sorry, Jay” She pleaded.
“Sorry doesn’t cut it, Isabella,” He answered curtly, a pained expression cut across his face, slowly withdrawing his hands from hers. For ten long years, he had dreamt of this meeting. Never for once had he imagined it to be like this. He had imagined himself slapping her several times, kicking her and just hurting her. But for the past twelve years, strangely, he never thought of her for a second. Why had she turned up when his life appeared to have finally taken shape? He asked himself as he starred into her beautiful face. Ella meant trouble for him, his wife and his daughter, his heart told him.
“For the sake of our daughter,” Ella pleaded.
“Don’t even go there,” Otunba raised his hand angrily. He felt anger surge through his body like a bolt of electricity. He stood up, pushing her out of his way. “Your daughter? A daughter that was raised by another woman?” Ella had learned to put on a good act, and to get by with it. “1’m sorry Jay, I did what I did for you and my daughter” She said with teary eyes and an emotion laden voice, “I never stopped loving you.”
“Is that why you awarded my company the phoney contract? So you can lure me back to you?” He asked anger evident in his voice.
Ella nodded. “I have monitored you for years, just never really had the opportunity to meet you one on one. Let’s go somewhere and talk things over”
Ella swallowed hard. She wasn’t prepared for this ‘tough’ version of Jay, her one time boy-toy. She knew he wasn’t going to succumb so easily, but this? “Can I at least see my daughter?”
Otunba held his hands up, palms out. “Never, Ella, never.”
“We’ll see about that,” She shrugged her shoulders.
“Okay.” Otunba stood only inches away, hands on his hips, his face twisted in a rage. Suddenly, he grabbed Ella and pushed her aside roughly. “Get out of my way, and stay out of my life!”
“Easy, Jay.” She staggered and fell on the sofa. He hurried to the door in two strides, held the door knob firmly and turned it. “To hell with your money and your contract.” He flung the contract paper at her and stormed out of the office.

The door of the third room by the right was slightly ajar. He could feel the cold air from the air conditioner as he walked towards the door. The hallway was well lit and two other doors were wide open, with workers busy behind their computers.
He pushed the door gently and stepped inside what appeared to be a waiting room. A young lady sitting behind a big desk, with the tag ‘secretary’ conspicuously placed on her table greeted him. Another young man sat on a smaller desk, a computer monitor beaming in front of him.
“Otunba Jayeola” he introduced himself.
The secretary smiled, “She’s expecting you, sir.”
His feet went numb at the word ‘she’. “I’m here to see Chief Williams” He corrected.
The smile again. “Yes, Chief Mrs Williams is the acting ceo. She’s expecting you” She reiterated, pointing towards a closed door in the office.
He walked towards the door, slightly disappointed. He had prepared all night with his wife, rehearsing his speech and memorizing some legal mumbo jumbo his friend had shoved down his neck.
He turned the door knob and entered the beautifully furnished office. From the window blinds to the state of the art electronics and the furniture, the office reeled of affluence. A large Victorian table sat between him and the woman, who was busy typing away on a computer keyboard. Otunba stepped into the office shut the door, hard enough that the woman looked up from behind her computer.
“Hello,” She said with face devoid of any emotions, “Sit down” She pointed to a sofa on the other side of the office.
“Good morning, madam.” He said, and sat down. She stood up and walked gracefully towards the Samsung refrigerator that stood in one corner of the spacious office, his eyes following her every sway.
She wore a dark business suit, as did Otunba. However, her suit was crisper, crafted of fine material, and followed the contours of her curvy physique perfectly. Otunba’s suit is straight from Dugbe, and it bunched up in certain spots despite the local tailor’s best efforts.
Otunba looked on in shock as she carefully placed a can of fruit juice on a coffee table beside him. It was supposed to be a scolding session based on the negative reports his construction works have received so far.
He drew himself up in the sofa. “I wasn’t expecting this type of reception ma.” He blurted suddenly.
“Really?” she frowned, facing him fully, “What kind of reception were you expecting, Jay?”

JOLADE.
'come, let me help you' Kelvin said stretching his hand. I took it. I hugged myself in cold.
He had taken me to his house, where i had freshened up and wore a big shirt of his and a baggy short of his.
'i'm so sorry about your ordeal ma'am, i never expected to see you in that uncompleted building..it actually belongs to my late elder brother. I know hoodlums do gather there and do all sort of bad things, so i just decided to check on it today. I was very shocked to see you there totally naked. I'm sorry, but were you raped?' he asked as we stood by the roadside waiting to board a cab.
'will you just shut up and leave me alone?!' i barked at him 'just because you found me in this unfortunate condition and helped me doesnt mean you should try to pry into my private life. Because no matter what, you still remain my common cleaner, do you understand?!!!'
He lowered his head for a while before speaking, and when he did, his voice was soft 'i'm sorry ma'am, i didnt mean to get you angry. I...i just think you might need help. If you're able to recognise anyone of those guys who did this to you, i could help you find....'
'and whoever said i was raped?!'
'i'm sorry'
'flag down a cab will you! Instead of just standing here and spitting nonsense!'
****
KAINENE.
'to be sincere mum, i did not like your reaction today, thats i did not like the way you handled things at the hotel today...' i said, my hands on my hips 'it was wrong, you didnt even care to listen to my own side of the story, you just went ahead to believe all that nicompoop was saying! Do you believe thats the same guy who slapped me at the hotel yesterday?'
My mum raised a brow, then smiled adjusting her glasses 'come on now Nene, you take things too serious. That guy is our customer and its our duty to take good care of our customers and overlook them sometimes'
'not for me! I believe every fuckup must be treated. If any customer tries to take advantage of me, then i'm so going to put that person into his pockets. Shits aint for me mum, i dont take it'
'do you realise you're speaking to me young lady?'
I sighed and rolled my eyes 'i'm sorry. But then you owe me an apology too!' i said pouting my lips 'do you know how many insults that stupid guy hauled at me?'
'i'm sorry dear. I'm just teaching you how to handle customers and respect their wishes. Besides, that guy looked like a nice catch...' she winked at me.
'oh oh! I said it!' i clapped my hands 'i knew you had something up your sleeves. I know you mum, i know you more than anyone else does! Fuc.k shi.t!'
She frowned immediately 'Kainene!'
'okay, sorry! I'm sorry about my language. But then, you should quit on doing such things. It wont work. Its high time you started realising that male antics wont work for me. No man would be given the chance to toy with my heard just the way yours was toyed with!' It was out before i could stop it.
I held my mouth immediately looking at my mum's sudden frown 'i'm very sorry mum'
She picked up her reading glasses and newspapers and left for her room without a second glance.
I felt really bad. I felt like going after her but i knew it would be best if i apologise the following morning.
My phone buzzed beside me. I hissed when i saw the caller. Why was she calling me?
I pushed the phone aside without picking, but when it continued to ring, i changed my mind.
'hello Kamsiyochukwu, why are you calling my line by this time of the night?' i asked angrily.
'K baby, take a chill pill there...' she said softly 'i called to apologise for what happened the other say. Please forgive me. I never meant to hurt you with my words. I'm really sorry'
'look Kaka...' i swallowed hard 'just, leave me alone'
'i'm so sorry. It wont happen again. Remember you slapped me. That slap blocked my ears i had to visit eh...what do they call those doctors that treats ears again...eh hen eartrician....'
I started laughing 'eartrician indeed! Are you sure you even went to school?'
'first class babe like me, na you dey use dey play abi? You dey chop bottle? No allow me tear your head ooo'
'eh hen, shebi na you dey apologise before, you con dey threaten me abi? Oya bye bye, no call my line again!'
'ahn ahn, someone cannot play with you. Is that how you used to do?'
'okay, do the do. May the spirit of kolewerk kill you!'
'amen!'
I laughed 'yeye girl. Okay now, make i go sleep. Time don do'
'i dey show for your crib tomorrow. You dey reach hotel?'
'no oo. I no get strength. I no go go tomorrow'
'no quata'
'sha no bring Marcus come'
'hahahaha, no problem. Nightie dearie, i love u'
'i love you too Kaka'
She laughed and hung up.

MABEL.
'where is Jolade?' i asked Nathan immediately he entered.
He stopped, eyed me and turned to leave. He was in a very foul mood today, i could sense it.
'Nathan? Is it not you i'm talking to? Where is Jolade?'
'do i look like her keeper?' he barked angrily 'look woman, i'm in no mood for your nonsense this evening. It will do you so much good if you'll just leave me alone!'
He turned to leave.
I jumped up on my feet and held his hand tightly 'how dare you....'
He winced and i let go of his hands only to see blood dripping from it.
'oh my God!' i gasped 'who did this to you?'
He shot me an angry look 'just leave me alone!' he climbed the stairs and headed for his room.
My phone rang immediately. It was Mrs Tonia, Jolade's mum.
'hello Mabel, any news?' she asked immediately.
'i'm sorry friend. Uhm...Nathan is not home yet. I'm calling him but he aint picking his calls'
'same here. I'm also calling his line but he's ignoring my calls. Look Mabel, please help me tell him, if something bad happens to my daughter then he should be ready to take responsibility for it because he was the last person Jolade saw before she got missing'
'now how do you know he was the last person Jolade saw?'
'because she told me she was going to see him that day! See Mabel, dont let me involve the police in this matter. This is a very delicate situation. Nathan could go to jail if Jolade isnt found in 24hours'
'you seem to be forgetting something here Tonia' i said 'Jolade is an adult and she has the right to go wherever she wants to. Who knows where she went to after seeing Nathan? Or how sure are you that it was Nathan she went to see? My son is a good boy, and he loves Jolade....' i swallowed at my lie 'he would never do anything to hurt her. But that notwithstanding, i'll also ask Nathan when he gets back'
'i am just sounding a warning so it doesnt come as a surprise to you'
'i understand how you feel Mrs Tonia. But its so low of you to think that my own son would be capable of such act. Besides, its not even confirmed yet if Jolade is missing or not'
'bye' she hung up quickly.
I let out a sigh. Deep down, i knew what i told her was a lie. Nathan was capable of doing anything. I didnt know what to believe anymore.
What if he had held her hostage in a place so he could rape and use her at will? Nathan was capable of that.
I placed my hand on my forehead 'God, please take control'
I stood up and went to his room. I didnt knock, i just pushed the door and entered.
I gasped.
Nathan was unclad, on his knees, his manhood in his left hand and his right hand supported his nose as he inhaled the whitish substance on the table.
I knew Nathan smoked all manner of rubbish but never for once did i suspect that he could also be a drug addict! I never knew my son takes cocaine!
He was making muffled sounds while wanking.
'cocaine!' i gasped loudly.
He raised his head, looked at me, smiled drunkenly and continued wanking.
My legs suddenly felt weak under me. I went to his bed, fell on it and cried loudly.
God why me? Was Nathan the repercussion for all my sins? Was he my nemesis? Did Chichi lay a curse on me?
I wept. I cursed God. I cursed my mother for giving birth to me. I cursed his father for impregnating me and running away.
I cried like never before. My son didnt deem it fit to console me. When i raised up my head again, he was jerking as cum poured out of his di.ck. He was so shameless, he couldnt even cover his unclothedness.
I cried to the extent that i didnt know when i fell asleep on his bed. But i knew i woke up the next morning, just outside his room. He had taken me out of his room and placed me on the floor. He couldnt even drop me in my room on my bed. Nathan was so heartless.
But i made up my mind never to shed a tear for him again. He had done his worst. Now its time to teach him a lesson he would never forget in a hurry.

Oyinprince: Chapter 1 Part 7
'I've searched all the footages around the place, the only thing I keep identifying is the car stopping in front of the house but the cameras did not capture their faces.' Cole said to Tarasha who was still visibly angry that she had been disturbed.
'Do you still find only three people in the car?' Tarasha asked, walking away from Henry to follow Cole. Henry let out a deep breath and sank into one of the sofas, he knew what they were doing is trying to identify some people with footages from the street cameras.
*
'Could this be your boss?' Tarasha asked Cole as she stared into the laptop screen. She stood behind the upright chair Cole was previously occupying and her hands were rested on the backrest. Aisha was still seated on the next seat. The clip being played was one captured at night, three men were outside the gate of the house where tarasha lived previously, the same one in which her brother was killed.
'I don't know, the clothes all these men put on are far bigger than the ones Don Daniel uses.' Cole replied.
'He's probably disguising with those clothes,' Tarasha said thoughtfully. 'I saw him that day with the Inspector General, the other two must be some of his new boys.'
'One of them could be Stainless, his friend here in Abuja, the one whose warehouse was ransacked by the police when Don met you at Henry E.G's house.' Cole suggested.
'You're right, that must be one of the other guys.' Tarashaagreed. They maintained a brief silence. 'Where has the car been located again?'
'Going out of town, we couldn't ascertain where because of the absence of cameras around those areas but the transmission suddenly cuts sometimes when they are going to other places in asokoro.'
'Hmm, I think we need to visit Gwagalada today, that must be where they were heading to out of town.' she suggested. 'And I think we can guess who the third man is now,' Tarasha said thoughtfully, rubbing a finger on her lower lip.
'Who do you think it is?'
'If you observe well, Don has been acting more intelligent than he is. How else can you explain the cut in transmission of the security cameras? He can't do that except someone had thought him how recently and the only persons capable of teaching him are those at the NSCC or anyone who has previously been with us.'
'Ermm..' A frown appeared on Cole's face as he tried to comprehend. 'Do you think Benny is the third person?'
'Most likely he is...' She said. Their discussion paused as the door opened softly and Henry walked in.
Their eyes moved towards him as he proceeded towards them, from the look on his face, they could deduce that he had been forced to come in after waiting without seeing Tarasha for long.
'Is there anything I can help with?' Henry blurted out, having nothing else to say.
'Not for now,' Tarasha replied him and turned back to face the laptop. 'Anybody else apart from the NSCC officials found at the house?' She asked Cole.
'Non yet except for one chubby guy that lives in the next building.' Cole answered.

'Good afternoon Sir,' James saluted Agent Tim.
'Afternoon James,' Agent Tim offered him a handshake and motioned him to the seat behind the table.
'I can see you're already getting yourself to know the new environment.' Agent Tim said, adjusting his eyeglasses as he focused on a document.
'Yes sir, I'm trying. I also met with Agent Dakolo earlier,' James replied, purposely trying to bring in a discussion about Dakolo.
'Inspector Dakolo,' Agent Tim corrected consciously. 'His case is such a pathetic one, he destroyed his reputation with his carelessness.'
'But it could have happened to anyb...'
Agent Tim raised his hand to hush him, 'Forget about Dakolo and let's discuss the reason you're here,' he adjusted his eyeglasses again and rested his back in the chair, fixing his gaze on James face. 'Inspector Dakolo actually recommended you in a meeting several weeks ago, that was when he was still handling the case.' Agent Tim continued. 'I read up your file and found it interesting, I also discovered that you have been previously involved in the case.'
'Yes sir, I was the first to handle it in Lagos.' James replied.
'But you weren't able to do much also, the only reason I think you're still much qualified for this is because you had an encounter with Samantha Osman and I read about that gun battle.' He paused and sat up right, resting his hands on the table. 'How were you able to escape the same woman who killed Robin Kahn?' He asked, looking straight into James' eyes.
'Sir, I didn't do anything special. There was a gun battle between her and my team that day. My shots actually hit her body that day but she was well proofed.'
'That's encouraging, no other police officer or even Robin Kahn came so close to her.' Agent Tim commended. He took a pause to note down some things in a jotter. 'I know you should have read about the progres of the case...' He paused and chuckled. 'That's if I can call it progress but I think you still need to hear it from me. So listen carefully as...'

'Have you installed the features of the woman?' Mr Sylvester asked as he entered into Frank and Shola's office.
'The features are not new ones sir, Its exactly like one of the ladies out of the two we already have, even the face is only slightly different.'
'So you mean we have the features already?'
'Yes, we do.' Frank replied briefly.
'Okay, ' Mr Sylvester proceeded to take a seat behind Frank's table. 'I've been thinking about your suggestion and I think we should employ someone else. It's very possible we get a good or even one who is better than Kimberly.'
'Nice decision sir,' Frank replied with a smile.
'Yea,' Mr Sylvester heaved a sigh. 'I'll draft out the vacancyannouncement later.'
_______
'Omotara, how do you intend to get back to the killers of your brother?' Henry asked, adjusting his face cap as he took a quick glance at her face. He was seated at the front seat with her while she drove the car.
'Cover your face with the cap properly, anyone could see you through the window.' She replied, consciously ignoring his question.
'You didn't answer my question,' Henry said as he adjusted his cap.
'You really want to know?' She replied. There was no answer. 'I plan to let them die the same way he died.'
'No, I think we shouldn't kill them ourselves. Let's hand them over to the police.'
'I knew this is where were we'll disagree,' Tarasha said in a sad tone.
'But I just said what is right,' Henry replied, giving her a surprise stare.
'How can we hand over the police to the police? I already told you that the person who led them is the Inspector General himself.'
'But there are still legal ways to handle it,' Henry replied. 'I'm sure Inspector Dakolo would help us if we explain things to him. That way, our revenge on them will happen legally.'
'Legally?' She chuckled mockingly. 'You still talking about legality when everything about you, everything about us is illegal already.'
'No Tara, I'll make things right after this.'
'What do you mean?' She glanced at him with a frown.
'I mean I won't keep running from the police forever,' he replied.
'Hmm, so you still keep this crazy idea of you submitting yourself to the law?'
'It's the right thing to do, when we do things the right way, God can help us.'
'Damn it!' Henry had pushed a wrong button with his last words. Tarasha cursed in anger as she pushed the brakes all of a sudden. The car screeched and Henry hit his head against the airbag . The vehicle following behind would have hit them from if not for the experience of the driver. He quickly pulled his brakes and swerved the car to the pedestrian lane. A mini traffic jam was caused as cars began to line up behind them.
Henry turned to look at her face in a questioning manner but she looked less disturbed by what had happened, there was a terrible angry look on her face as she stared blankly through the windscreen. 'What did you do that for?'
'Where was that God when he was killed?' Tarasha asked with a voice filled of rage, she stared thinly outside the car. 'Those two bullet holes I saw on his forehead would be on the foreheads of all those that killed him, I'll present their bodies as sacrifices to God with my hands.'
Some motorists had come out of their cars to see what was happening. One of the was already knocking the glass at the driver's side. Without paying attention to the man knocking, Tarasha reversed the car and drove off

BiafraBushBoy: Through the drive to the Anti-Robbery Squad Cell, any attempt I made at pleading my case was always met with a thunderous slap which always left me cringing in pain. I felt my face heavy and taking my cuffed hands up, i realized my face was so swollen, little wonder why i wasn’t seeing clearly anymore. For some reason, the pain down inside my as* has vanished. When we got to the station, I was dragged down the Hilux van and pushed inside. Behind the counter, I was asked to UnCloth till I had only my undies with me. I had barely undressed, when the officer kicked my buttocks again. The pain of the ordeal with the man that night came calling once more.
“Chineke oooo” I screamed as I held tightly on to my ass.
“Why you dey hold ya nyash?” The officer queried
“Nothing sir” I responded as I groaned in deep pains.
“E be like say you be homo sha… but when you enter that cell, they go show you pepper” He mocked as he slapped the back of my head again before being dragged like a condemned criminal to the cell.
I couldn’t utter any word as all these happened because I know what will follow any word that escapes from my mouth. The smell that came out from the various cells could kill an asthmatic patient within seconds.
“Which cell him dey go?” The junior officer asked the man at the counter with a loud voice to enable him hear his words perfectly. The other officer at the counter came running with a paper as he took down my details and the crime I committed.
“Drug and Gun?” The guy yelled when I told him the allegations levied against me
“This guy go enter cell 3” The guy suggested “Na very serious case be this”
“Haa!! You wan kill am?” The other officer pleaded. From the look of the officer pleading my case, I knew that the cell 3 wasn’t a place a first timer could enter and come out the same.
“Oya carry am go cell 4” The guy finally succumbed to the pleading of the other officer that held me. As we edged closer to the cell, he whispered to me “God don save you today.” I didn’t need an interpreter to show that the cell 3 was something else to behold. We had barely passed the place he pointed to me as cell 3 and I heard a loud sound like that of a gun and the groaning of a human followed very fast.
“You hear that sound?” He asked me
“Yes Sir” I replied with a gentle voice
“Na person leg they commot so with gun, if you know wetin good for you, just talk true if they ask you any question ooo” He pleaded in a mean manner “Because they no go pity you at all”
He had barely finished those words before I went into soft tears. He looked at me and laughed hysterically
“They never start, you done dey cry. I know say you go die for here sha.”
As soon as he mentioned death, the tears started dropping down more than before. We approached the cell and I was pushing inside the cell, I was ordered to show my cuffed hands through the iron protector where I was un-cuffed.
Turning around weakly, I saw about fifteen other guys in different positions clad only on their boxers. I stood for a moment before making my way to a little space beside a very huge guy. Though it seemed that space was avoided but I cared less as it can only get worse.
“Bring your head here” One of the smallest guys in the cell said to me
“Why?” I spoke in English. The laughter that accompanied my statement made me wonder if I cracked a joke of some sort. After the laughter subsided, the little man walked up to me and gave me a life changing slap to the already existing one given to me by the force men.
“Go kneel down for there” He commanded as others watched in anticipation. I didn’t talk further before I gently stood up while still holding on to my face as I made way for the location he pointed at me.
“Jezzz” I yelled while holding on to my nose. That was the place that served as the toilet of the cell. It was already filled and stinking so badly. I wished I could just pass out, but passing out was nowhere to be found.
I tried to hold my breath hard but I couldn’t and finally adjusted to the stink that emanated from that place.
“Wetin carry you come here?” The biggest man asked
“I no do anything ooo, they come say I carry drug and gun for my house” I explained
“So how e tey appear for your house?” He questioned
“Senior man, I no sabi ooo” I pleaded in Pidgin English.
He immediately ordered me to stand up and slap the little man that slapped me earlier on. I stood up in a flash and gave him a life changing thunderous slap that changed the stars of his destinies.
“Wetin I do na” He cried with a loud voice
“Him get level pass you for carrying drug and gun” The big man they called governor replied him harshly.
“You fit carry gun?” The governor asked him with anger “Na woman you go rape make them carry you come dump here”
The little man went ahead to assume my position of kneeling while I got my first promotion in the cell.
****
I had spent two weeks already in the cell without having a visitor or charged to court. If they had allowed me make a phone call, maybe I would have been bailed.
For two weeks, I watched people leave the cell and also watched new comers enter. I had already gotten so close to being a governor after the former governor got bailed. The new guys were the ones in charge of packing the poo in the cell. I made sure I collected any money that a new guy brought into the cell. I apportioned positions depending on the gravity of your offence. I was already enjoying life as a local champion inside the cell that I stopped worrying when I was going to leave and was taking the day as it came. Sometimes i stayed days without food while other times, some pious religious group comes around to share food.
It was in the middle of the afternoon as I slept on the back of two new recruits inside the cell; I heard someone shouting my name from sleep which made me jump. “Thief, person dey find you.” The officer said waiting for me at the protector.
“Abeg waka fast, no waste my time. ” he barked as I walked lazily towards him. Unlocking the protector, he held it open for me to walk through before closing it behind me.
“Bring you hands” he ordered which I obeyed as he slapped the cuffs around my wrists before pushing me on. As he pushed me, I kept wondering who came to see me.
My thoughts were cleared as He pushed me into the visitors room to behold madam Grace and Oga paul sitting calmly probably waiting for me. I stood surprised for some minutes before walking towards them. They had an expressionless countenance with their eyes focuses on me while I took the only empty sit left.
For some minutes, we stared at each other before I cleared my throat.
“What did I do to deserve this? ” I asked calmly and confidently. “Planting hard drugs in my apartment and blowing the whistle on me, was it worth it.”
The confidence with which I delivered the words must have surprised them as they looked on amazed.
“It’s not everybody that you dare and go scot free.” Oga paul said breaking the silence which hung in the air.
“Shut up, I wasn’t talking to you.” I said through my teeth throwing Oga paul a glance before returning my gaze to Madam Grace who had remained silent since I walked in.
“I see, you have ……. ” Oga paul started Before I looked squarely at him forcing the words back into his mouth.
“Can he leave us alone?” I asked madam Grace without averting her gaze. She sighed lightly as if she has been holding back her breath before looking at Paul. He must have understood the look as he stood up and left without a word.
“I thought you would have come back to your senses by now.” She said holding my gaze. “We have the power to make all these go away in a blink of an eye but you are still proving to be stubborn. ”
“What did I do wrong? ” I repeated. “Not agreeing to partake in crime is now an offence?”
“You can’t run away from it, you are in already and the only way you are getting out is death.” She said without a change of countenance which sent fears down my spine.
“Madam please,” I started before she cut through my words.
“This is just the beginning and may likely be your end. You have two days to make up your mind. If you still want in, tell the officer who brought you here to call me, but, if by the end of next tomorrow I don’t hear from him, I will take it to mean that you are ready to go the hard way.” She concluded and left before I could utter another word.
To Be Continued*****
***”Just tell me what you want from me… I promise to do it” I pleaded****
With a smile on her face she said ” I want you to …”
“Jeezz” I shouted at the top of my voice”****

Oyinprince: I stated earlier this week that there may be short or no updates for the next two weeks during my exams. I thought I should remind you again.
CHAPTER 5 Part 1
Don's shooting became more rapid as he got closer to the edge of the wall but his steps became slower. He changed his gun as he reached the edge, he turned swiftly, shooting in differing directions but there was no one there. He looked towards the space where the vehicles were parked but he still didn't see anyone. He began to walk slowly but carefully towards the Jeep, pointing his gun forward in anticipation.
Tarasha could hear him coming towards her from behind the Jeep she was hiding; her legs were hidden behind the tyre while she bent. Don was looking around as he proceeded towards the parking space slowly, just about nine metres to the back of the car where she was. Tarasha readied her gun when she was able to approximate his distance to be four metres closer. Her plan was take him down temporarily and extract some information from him. But just as she was about to move out and shoot at Don, something on her wrist vibrated, the electronic bangle. The signal meant that Aisha was giving her a warning about something. She folded her jacket sleeve and checked the screen displayed on the bangle, it showed the message "Police officers are here".
'Damn it!' she cursed. The police arrival would not give her enough time to drag Don out and do all she wanted to do with him and she didn't want to take the other option which was to attack the police. She had to leave the place as soon as she could.
She stepped back a bit, still conscious of Don's movement, she searched the outer pocket of her bag hurriedly and took out something.
Then she focused on the faded shadow of Don approaching with his gun formed in front, she rolled out the small ball taken out from her bag towards Don and turned back swiftly.
She could hear Don heavy steps as he staggered backwards and shot at the ball which was rolling towards him and emitting blue smoke.
She jumped on the bonnet of the second car and caught the tip of the very high fence, she pulled herself up without much struggles and climbed over the fence, landing inside another compound.
She landed into a small rectangular grass field, there was a short tree at the middle of the field, the small section looked like a relaxation part of the facility. There were two long unmovable concrete seats at each side facing each other under the tree. A bright bulb hung directly at the middle of the tree.
She began to crawl out of the place towards a shadow formed by a building some metres behind. She stopped as she got under the shadow and took sometime to look around the compound but she wasn't able to determine what kind of building it was or even if it was residential or commercial.
She relaxed for a few seconds and took out her device, she unlocked it and began to search Aisha's location with her app.
Soon, sounds of police cars could be heard closely. She rose up from under the shadow and proceeded forward carefully, she stopped at the front of the building behind whose shadow she hid, it had a raised corridor about half a metre above the ground level. The building itself was about nine metres wide and six metres long, it had two doors each at both ends of the width. She took a peep in through the slightly opened first door, she could see a line of urinals for men. That was when she looked up to the inscription at the top of the door, it read "Men's toilet". She looked towards the other door and it had the inscription "Ladies" hanging above. From that observation, she could conclude that the place was a public one which received so many visitors on daily basis. From the sparkling cleanness of the floor tiles in the men's toilet, she also concluded it wasn't a factory or warehouse like the neighboring building.
She paused for a second to listen carefully as she heard the loud noises made by the police officers and their vehicles as they surrounded and entered into the warehouse she had just left. She took a look at the device in her left hand again, the app had picked the exact spot Aisha was and the compass pointing the direction back through the warehouse.
She proceeded forward slowly. The main building in the compound was just three metres spaced from the toilet building. Both ends started at the same point from the back but the main building was ten times longer and wider. The building was a bungalow with a high roof for a public place but not up to the heights of big cathedrals. There was a security building directly opposite the toilet but with the entrance adjacent to the gate, just at the same position the security building at the warehouse was.
Tarasha stopped as she got to the front edge of the main building wall. She took out her gun and rested on the wall. She stared intently towards the security building for some seconds, waiting to see if any security official would show up if any alarm goes off but there was none. She proceeded to the front of the main building, it had a slightly high and large balcony. At the middle top of the roof was a broad rectangular sign board which displayed the name "New Prestige Library" in bold, the address and some other descriptions in smaller fonts below. She continued towards the steps at the middle of the pharmacy and climbed up onto the balcony.
She could hear noise made by the police officers outside the gate of the warehouse but could not hear anything outside. It seemed the officers had come for serious business. She could only hope silently that Aisha was able to hide herself from the police, else that would be a more difficult job for her and she would have to attack the police which she didn't want to.
________________
'Boss, we're moving out already,' Stainless spoke into the phone as he dragged a bag along with him. At his front was Stone and the other men who were at the place with him. Stone had a gun placed to Cole's back as he motioned him forward. Cole had an handcuff binding his hands but his legs were free. He was already deep asleep on the cold floor where he was allowed to lay when one of the boys had barged into room suddenly and commanded him to get up.
'We'll should get a safe location once we are able to get out of this place first,' Stainless answered Rex again.
'Do keep me updated everytime and anytime anything comes up,' Rex voice sounded from the other end of the connection line.
'Okay boss,' Stainless replied and the line went off.
He dipped the key into the hole and turned twice it as quickly. He paused to look around the place again while the others were already halfway down the stairs. He stared at his phone's screen one more time, then he exited the dialer and locked the screen before dipping it into his pocket. He took out his pistol from the other pocket and cleaned the tip, he tucked it into his back pocket after deeply sniffing in the cold air.
__________
Rex took in a deep breath as he dropped the phone on the table, he adjusted his seat and tapped the keyboard, the monitor's light came on and he entered the password. It unlocked and it displayed the Henry's full portrait picture on the left side, on the right it displayed the portrait image reproduced with only black dots.
He clicked on a crop tool on the side bar and began to use it to cut out the image on the left. His phone vibrated twice before he got halfway. He wanted to finish with his cropping before attending to the message but the sender's ID caught his attention. He abandoned the mouse and picked the phone.
'Tarasha has gotten away and I'm also trying to escape. Someone has contacted the authorities and members of the Rapid Response Squad are here.' the message read.
Rex shifted his chair backwards to create space for him to type on his phone. He slid his finger round the popped up keyboard, inputting a short message in few seconds, 'Where exactly are you now?'
He stared at the screen in silence for some seconds, expecting a prompt reply. He wasn't disappointed as the reply came in less than thirty seconds.
'I'm hiding in the roof of the building behind the warehouse,' the reply read.
'Stay safe and avoid being caught, leave only when the place is clear.' Rex sent in reply. He placed the phone back on his table and adjusted his seat to the table properly.
___________
Tarasha rolled the flattened tiny metal into the keyhole and the door gave way easily. She held back the door with the handle and carefully drew out the metal, then she pushed the door in slowly and entered. She was welcomed into the library by the total darkness due to the absence of light and closed windows. She closed the door carefully and walked some steps away from the door, then she took off her backpack and dropped it on the floor, squatting before it. She turned on her device flashlight and then opened the bag, she took out a material which look like a face cap and closed the bag again. The material could be attached to the head just like a face cap but it had no top covering. She wore it on her head and pressed something by the left side of the material. A bright source from which light diverges like light from a torch appeared at the middle of the material on her forehead. She turned off her device' flashlight and strapped the bag to her back as she rose up, she then walked towards the window which were covered with fancy library curtains and peeped through to see if there was anything or anybody in the compound, she covered the light from her forehead before bending to peep. After that, she returned back to the door and pulled the handle to make sure it was properly locked, it was.
She turned to look around the library, her little source of light limited her view of the facility but she didn't want to take the risk of having the place more brightened. She wasn't really interested in the content of the library but only wanted to hide herself in until she thought it was safe enough to go out and pick Aisha. The officers would still be flooding everywhere now that they just arrived, it would take them some time before they narrowed their search or scrutinization to the warehouse alone.
She located the short shelf just few metres away from her standing point and proceeded to the place. She could see an inscription at the top of the shelf which read, 'Drop your bags here and other objects not allowed in the library'. Under that was another inscription, 'Your properties are safe with our security'.
She raised her head up after reading the inscriptions and her light revealed a seat behind the shelf. She was about turning round the shelf to the seat when she raised her head and her light met with a very short round table and a chair behind it, there were neatly arranged newspapers on the left side of the table, two different colours of pen, a red and blue one laid on the arranged newspaper. She moved her head slightly and the light revealed a long desk which was behind the short round table, there were four chairs well spaced behind the desk. It looked like the reception point of the library and the desk for the librarians and maybe other staffs. Instead of turning round the shelf, she turned to the other side instead and settled into one one of the chairs behind the reception desk after putting her backpack on the desk.
She placed her device on the desk and exited the flashlight app. She navigated back to the tracker and refreshed the dashboard to see if Aisha was still in the same location as she was before. It refreshed and displayed the same location as it did previously. That enabled Tarasha to make a conclusion that she (Aisha) was hiding somewhere and was in a stationary position, unseen by the police.
She dropped the device on the table, her eyes met with a pile of record books as she attempted to relax her back. She sat back upright and picked the first record book, she adjusted the torch on her head as she flipped the cover. She closed partly to check the title of the book on the cover. The first page on the register was dated 1st of January, 2031. There was a table of twelve columns and several rows numbered from the top of the page to the end and continuing on the other pages. The first column was titled 'S/N' , the second 'Name of User' , third 'library number' , fourth 'book borrowed', fifth 'name of author', sixth 'category'. The other columns contained other information like section, return date and signature of user.
Her eyes scrolled down the page, just to while away time, she particularly focused on the names of the books borrowed. She scanned through the first page casually, the second and the third, stopping briefly anytime she saw a book title that caught her attention. She skipped some of the pages after the third page and landed at a page dated 30th of January, 2031. She scanned through a page, making no stop as she found no title of interest. Then the next page and three more pages before she dropped the book and picked her device, she turned on the screen and refreshed the tracker again, Aisha was still at the same position. Her eyes drifted to the time, it was 2:47am, she had used up to forty five minutes already in the library facility; about twenty five minutes walking in the compound and twenty minutes in the library itself. In the next ten minutes, she would be moving out of the place to get Aisha even if it means confronting the officers. She knew their alertness must have reduced since they had come for forty five minutes without seeing anyone or probably seeing Don and the dead bodies alone. A thought struck her mind, what if the position Aisha was stationed was in a police van, maybe she had been caught by them. She tapped her screen on again and clicked on a icon at the top bar of the app. A loading circle showed and it began to roll slowly, it got faster with time and the circle got bigger. In a minute time, it loaded complete and a line image of a human appeared. The person appeared to be squatting in something like a hole with her hands holding the top for support. It gave Tarasha an idea of where Aisha was hiding and eliminated the thought of Aisha having been captured. Staring at the picture again, she wondered where Aisha could be hiding in such a position. The only option that carne to her mind was the drainage which ran through the front of the warehouse.
She dropped the device on the table to wait for five more minutes, she decided to go through the register once more. She flipped a page and scanned through as usual, something caught her attention as she was about to flip to the next page. It was on the twentieth and twenty first row. The books on both rows were borrowed by the same person and was written by the same author. The title of the books were 'Doctors in Love' and 'That Village Girl', both in literature category. But that was not what caught her attention, it was the name of the author. Dr Tom Danjuma.

Chumzypinky: KAINENE. MozB, Kaka and i sat just outside my house which was directly opposite a small garden. There was a large umbrella there, a table and three chairs.
There was a bottle of wine there and suyas.
We cracked jokes together and laughed like oldtimes. Kaka and MozB were acting all lovey-dovey again and i just hoped, things didnt get messy as it had done before.
'i think your beau is calling you' MozB who had been fooling around with Kaka's phone said and handed the phone over to her.
'yeye pikin' she playfully slapped MozB's shoulders 'hello love'
MozB and i exchanged glances then winked at each other.
'oh yes, i'm fine... I'm actually back from Portharcourt... Yes, i'm with Kainene and some other friend of mine... Oh, yes! That would be fun, please come over will you?'
MozB and i exchanged glances again.
'She lives at Chikain's estate nah..Estate 2 oo... Eh, when you get to the gate, just buzz me. Alright, expecting you...i love you too sweetie' She dropped the call.
'your beau is coming over?' MozB asked.
'yeah, gat a problem with that?'
'hmm, i'm finally going to see the man that swept my stubborn friend off her feet after Xaviercasmir' i said.
'oh pullease! The names of losers shouldnt be mentioned her abeg'
'kosi wahala'
We continued jisting when a car pulled up in front of my next door neighbour's house. MozB asked Kaka if it was Davidson but she said that wasnt his car.
They continued talking but my mind wasnt there. I wondered who my nextdoor neighbour was. Whether it was a he or a she. How the person looked like. If the person was actually friendly.
There was a saying that said "your neighbour is you second god" Besides, i was a pregnant lady. Though Kaka was going to be staying with me henceforth, what if something happens and she's not actually available and then my labour comes in the middle of the night, who was going to help me? My nextdoor neighbour.
I continued watching.
A familiar lady got down of the car first. She had on a tight black short high waist skirt and a red blouse that had a low neckline, exposing a lot of cleavage.
Then he came down.
I frowned. Nathan? No, couldnt be?
Wasnt that Myra? His PA - His lover?
No!
'babyK, whats supping?' Kaka asked then followed my direction 'ahn-ahn, no be Nathan be that? Is that the girl he's sampling now?'
'mehn! The babe is hot' MozB added 'Nene, hafa nah, package me the girl number nah, make i dey contact her, no levels'
'must you joke with everything?' i asked rather angrily. I saw the look on his face and i smiled in apology.
'he has seen you' Kaka said and i looked up to see him walking towards me. Myra was still standing, watching him with an embarrassed look on her face.
'Nene? What a pleasant surprise!' he came close to me with a smile on his face.
'hi Nathan' Kaka said.
Nathan spread his arms and she stood up and hugged him. He looked at MozB who had a scowl on his face and just smiled, then he returned his gaze to me.
He squatted in front of me and tucked my braids behind my ear 'how have you been?' he asked.
'i really dont understand you' i spat 'is it that you dont stick to the rules you make, or is it that you find it amazing to walk in and out of people's lives anyhow you like? Is that it?'
Hurt flickered in his eyes.
I continued 'few weeks ago, you were shouting and calling me all sorts of names, telling me it was completely over. Same few weeks ago, you were telling me you never mingled with rude personalities and also few weeks ago, you turned down my offer of friendship and said there was someone else in your life. Thats the someone else' i pointed at Myra 'what are you doing here? Why did you come here? Do you have a problem sticking to your own rules. Please and please, Nathan. I am begging you for the last time, dont even come close to me again. You warned me the first time and i'm warning you the second time. Whatever we had in the past is something called - Past Tense. Our Tense is in the Past, thats why its called Past Tense. Past. Not Present Participle. And i dont remember the two of us being friends, because last time i checked, i had a rude personality, very rude that i didnt deserve to be friends with pleasant personalities such as yours. Why you came here, i dont know. If its Kaka you came here to greet, just a simple wave from that side would have solved us the whole stress of getting to see each other's ugly faces, right?'
He continued looking at me.
'i'm trying not to be rude. I'm trying to remain as polite as i can be. Please dont keep your lover waiting, go back to her' i picked my plate and went inside the house.
'i'll talk to her' i heard Kaka say before shutting the door loudly

Chumzypinky: 'i dont understand' she looked over her body.
'what i meant is, you should dress corporate. Not revealing your cleavages. I'm sure you're not here to seduce anyone right?' i smiled again.
'oh' she said getting what i meant, then she looked down slightly embarrassed 'i thought you liked it that way'
I shook my head 'its because i appreciate you, thats why i wouldnt like you dressing up this way'
The door opened and my mum walked in and eyed Myra 'excuse us' I could tell my mum never really liked Myra, she said the girl looked like an opportunist.
'yes ma' she started leaving.
'wait' mum said and turned to her 'i really dont know what your motives are in this office, but the next time i bump into you dressed like a cheap slut waiting for the next available man to pick her, be lest assured that i'm going to personally fling your miserable and pathetic self out of this office, do you understand?'
I saw tears well up in Myra's eyes before she left.
'that was harsh' i said.
Mum sat opposite me 'she hasnt seen anything yet. I still wonder what you do with that girl in this office, to me oo, she's not competent enough to be your PA. I mean, what does she advice you about? Very soon, i'll be forced to fire her'
'you obviously do not like the poor girl. If you become close to her, you'll actually understand that she's a good girl and she's good at what she does'
'you too are obviously blinded by whatever she gave you to chop. Thats your business. Thats not why i came here anyway. I wanted to ask you about DeMantra's contractors and how much it would cost to hire them'
'uhm, how many of them?'
'say twenty'
***
It was time to retire home. When i came out of the office, i met Myra packing her things. She looked rather dull than she had been in the morning and i knew it was because of my mother's words. She probably felt bad since i had told her the same words earlier.
'Myra?' i called.
She looked up at me and forced a smile, then she continued packing.
'are you done? I could perhaps drop you off at the estate you live'
'no thanks, i already have a cab waiting for me downstairs'
'i insist Myra'
'i also insist'
'Myra, are you mad at me?'
'no, i'm not, why should i? I have no right to bed mad at you, do i?'
'whats that supposed to mean?'
'what its supposed to mean and what it actually means is that whatever you do should just slide when it comes to me, because i dont have emotions and i dont have a right to be angry' there was hurt in her voice.
I swallowed and touched her shoulder 'i'm sorry about what my mum said to you earlier. Try to understand that she was only trying to advice you, maybe she didnt do it the right way but she actually meant no harm'
'really?'
'yeah'
'who do you think you're fooling Nath? You think i'm actually blind not to know that your mum never really liked me? She doesnt like me and thats why anything i do is faulty in her eyes. Maybe i should just turn up my resignation letter, maybe then everything would be alright' She was tearing up now.
'no, there would be no need for that. I'm very sorry about everything. What do i do to make up for what she did to you?'
She just shook her head and sobbed.
And so i hugged her to make her feel better.
When she finally stopped crying, i offered to take her out for dinner but she refused, instead she said i should stop over for dinner at her house. I thought for a while and i finally agreed. We walked hand-in-hand out of the company laughing together.
'where's the cab waiting for you downstairs?' i asked.
'actually there was no cab waiting for me, i was just teasing'
We laughed.

We laughed.

red everywhere. For the punters in villa, take heart. As one famous punter in the house would say: Learn to appreciate the good things in life so your cup of wine will not overflow. it is better that there was a has been than never was. It is good to see the positive side of things and see every challenge as a step over.
