Good day gurus in the house

My car Honda accord 2012 is shorting oil badly and no leakages anywhere, then i notice when I start it in the morning it brings out whitish/blue smoke 💨 for like 2 minutes then disappears. If I change oil now in less than 1 week it’s already very low

You have 3 options,
1. Rebuild the engine. Change valve stem seals, and replace oil rings, then replace every other seals (pulley and rear main oil seals), pcv valve also.

2. Buy direct tokumbo engine.

3. Sell off the car as is.


The choice is yours to decide on.

I have a Corolla 2013. The AC works ok in the morning time, but is inefficient when the sun is up. My trusted AC technician (known him for many years now) assessed it and said the compressor and the AC Radiator has to be changed. That the current Compressor in the car cannot be repaired, said something about it being automatic and without a coil. And then, that there are oil deposits in the AC Radiator which makes it unsuitable for use. I am still confused at the diagnosis (because the car is tok, it just entered Nigeria January 2026 with a US service history as recent as October 2025). Is the technician's diagnosis plausible or should I check other technicians?

If it has black oily substance inside, then you have to replace compressor, condenser, expansion valve and discharge pipe.
Other than that, I'd suggest you take it elsewhere to a competent technician to have a second opinion.
But from experience, it's either the condenser or expansion valve and diacharge pipes that needs to be replaced if it doesn't cools properly in the day time when the temperature is hot.

Good evening gurus and experience drivers nd mechanics in the house, I think my Camry 2013 is having a gear issue.. bought the car from a lady about 3 weeks ago, a scam was done which was fine apart from missing catalyst and engine is very sound and untouched . everything seems fine apart from the fact that it was badly maintained.. did some body works( full oven baked) changed headlamp etc . A week later, I noticed a slight kick while driving.. like when I hold break and try to accelerate again, I notice a slight kick so I took it to the mechanic and he said seems the gear oil needed to be topped.

Went to another mechanic the next day for the oil topping and he drained the old oil claiming the oil was bad and smells burnt so changed it, but made a grave mistake due to ignorance by putting in ibeto oil. The following day the issue got worse and this time my engine was lifting up when I engage reverse or drive. Made research that night and realised the wrong oil was used instead of Toyota WS. Went back to the mechanic very mad at him and he claimed Toyota doesn’t select oil lol… had to call another mechanic that confirmed ibeto oil was the wrong oil since it’s too thick.

The next day I was directed to a gear technician that said the car needs a reset or calibration . He did it successfully by tapping two wires around the battery area and also drained the complete ibeto oil and put in 8 litters Ws oil.. the car worked perfectly after that but I noticed oil was leaking from the bottom plate two days later and I went back and they fixed it and car was working well again.

Now after driving the car for 3 days, the engine lifting up or shaking when I engage reverse or drive has started again. U can physically see the engine shaking heavily like the engine seating is not holding it up well when I open the bonnet. Also, when I went out today, it did some delayed reversing. I hope this is not a serious issues..

The car is even for sale as I’m starting out in car sales.

Replace transmission. Its gone.

My neighbour used the Zafira MK1 back then, his was auto transmission and he was always traveling from Abuja to Kano. The only time I know the car had a fault was when he lost the key. It was hell for him because he had to go call some key programmers from Jos to come programme another key, change BCM, immobilizer and some other stuffs.

That said, it's a car I can recommend as long as it was well maintained.

There is no original ws,what obis normally do is to pour either dextron 2 or 3 inside ws container new container,ud thinknj bought original but na fake oil u buy,na why e dey delay. It will get worse off. U dont need to go to meko again. Go under the radiator,locate the gear cooler hose going into the radiator and back,disconnect the pin and look for a 4 liter empty keg,direct the hose to the keg,start the car,leave the gear on park,come out of the car,as soon as the gear oil has drained to like 2 litres. Stop engine,allow the oil to coo down,couple back the cooler hose. Leave the car parked for days and go and buy 2 litres can toyota gear oil dont buy the plastic one or the 4 litres,buy the can 1 liter. Then top up. After that check ,dont over fill and underfill,let it reach the hot mark kn the dipsstick. If not ,if u allow any meko touch am again,kiss the gear goodbye

I drive a 2006 Toyota Corolla Sport. The engine and transmission are in good condition, but whenever I switch on the air conditioner, the car feels heavy, sluggish and make some noise as if it’s climbing a hill. Once the AC is turned off, it drives perfectly.

Engine is low on compression or weak or compressor is robbing off much power from the engine. Have the compressor checked by an ac technician, if he confirms its fine, go to a kazeem to check if engine has any misfire or fuel related issues or air intake related issue. If none, budget to rebuild or replace the engine.

My 2008 Camry 2.4L keeps throwing P0303 and P0172 codes. I've already swapped out the plugs, coils, and fuel nozzle, and an electrician checked the wiring, finding no issues. The engine idles rough and jerks at low speeds. When I unplug the coil wire for cylinder #3 while idling, there's barely any change in the RPM. My mechanic thinks it's an engine problem with cylinder #3.

Have anyone encountered such issue before, I'm afraid of bringing the engine down.

If you've swapped injectors, coils and plugs, and have tested to confirm that the wire that supplies power to the coil and injector is fine, then indeed, your engine valve is the problem.

your car will behave as if it has HIV once your Injectors where swapped, simple reason cos they are coded to Engine cylinder number ,Now plenty mechanics do not know this, You need a dealer level scanning tool to program them to respective cylinders. There is a number on Each Injectors so go to someone with a fairly decent scan tool to program them with the numbers on them. Start from there.

This car is almost 20 years old, you do NOT need to programme any Injector or code injector to the engine number or VIN or anything. Its plug and play. If the injector is meant for the engine, it will work.

The knocking sensor, will need to check if rodent ate up the wire due to long park down, so the sensor can be replaced. My major concern is the Gearbox. I need someone with good scanner and expertise. Please any recommendations? My scanner is the basic type not the professional deep scanning type that can reset the AWD and clear the alarm on the dashboard

It's 2011 RX 350, I used my scanner it's showing Knock Sensor fault, the car dashboard is showing check AWD and check engine light is also displaying on the dash.
Any recommended technician? I'm in Lagos. Gazzuzz was my only trusted technician, I'm yet to get someone else. All the gear changes normally and smooth, only gear two makes that small clunking sound while changing, but no delay at all.
I want it to be smooth as before without feeling the gear change while driving.
NOTE.... The clunking sound has drastically reduced on its own but one will still feel it whenever the gear two is changing

For the knock sensor, replace both. They tend known to fail when the car experience overheating, rodents are known to chew the wires and poor fuel quality are known to trigger knocking or premature detonation.

As for the transmission fluid, change oil and filter. Use genuine transmission filter and genuine AISIN WS or GENUINE TOYOTA AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID TYPE WS

If you must buy brand new compressor, make it autmatic type. Ensure its genuine Denso or any very good quality after market.

My Toyota Corolla 2010 model AC is not cooling well. It only cools very early in the morning and at night. During the day, especially under hot sun, the cooling is very poor.
I also noticed that the AC cools better when I accelerate the car or when I’m on motion, but once I slow down or stay in traffic, the cooling reduces.
Please what could be the likely cause and recommended solution?

Ac compressor is weak hence the cooling when the car is in motion but non cooling when on standstill or the fan is not blowing air sufficiently to cool the condenser.

Visit a competent AC technician to properly diagnose it.
