Salewa97: The US should first of all stop meddling in Nigeria's internal affairs. We don't need their assistance in fighting the insecurity in our country
We are capable of doing that ourselves
Im deeply worried about your sen.sele.ssness. If you or the leaders don't value lives and peace of its citizens and are always playing politics and games of chess with people's lives, let other nations step in to save poor masses souls being slaughtered with reckless abandon.
ticker: The interior of my car gets unnecessary hot when I start the engine in the day time or when I drive small distance in the morning. Pls what could cause this?
Which car is this and was any recent repairs carried out on the exhaust or under the dashboard?
I drive a 2010 Toyota Corolla and I’ve been experiencing some issues:
While driving, the car will suddenly rev on its own. This also happens occasionally when the car is idle.
While parked the rpm goes close to 2, thou this rarely occurs.
After driving for about 30 minutes or more, when I stop and shift the gear to Park, the RPM drops below 1, the engine vibrates, and then gradually returns to normal.
While driving especially when climbing a hill the car makes a noise as if it’s struggling to climb. After a few seconds, it becomes stable again.
Things I have done so far: A. Changed the fuel pump B. Bought new plugs C. Serviced the nozzles D. Changed the injector mouth
When I first changed the fuel pump and plugs, the hill-climbing issue stopped, but after 3–4 days it returned. All the other problems are still present
My Toyota Corolla 2006 is showing engine light ON for a while now... A friend of mine assisted me to scan it and below error codes are displaying: P043E P043F P2401 P2402 P2419
All codes related to EVAP system, leak detection system, EVAP switching valve, Faulty EVAP canister.
Pls what is the solution to these.... I have asked my mechanic and he pointed that I should not bother about the canister and this is a mere fault. Pls advise.
It not a mere fault. It's an evap fault. Take it to someone else that knows his onions and can tackle evap issues.
Zeal192: Hello guys, please I need help with diagnosing my 2012 ML350 W166, it randomly vibrates while driving. My mechanic change the transfer case(auxiliary) but that didn’t solve the problem, please anyone who has experienced such in the past and has fix it should kindly assist.
If you're in Abuja, contact me to help diagnose it.
TUBLEZ: Has anyone experienced this? My car will just loose power in motion, it won’t rev and it will slowly jack a bit then won’t even move at all., my Rewire changed the fuel pump and filter but problem persist. Scanned in 3 different places but the only thing machine was pointing at is catalyst. Now the Rewire doesn’t even know whr again to go now he’s suggesting that the pump I bought is not strong enough that’s why the problem persist, and again today I noticed the car temperature was going so high the fans were working ac was working fine too.. it’s Honda accord 2012
Check your radiator if it leaks, water pump, radiator cap, before checking if head gasket had left the charroom.
My RX350 horn stopped working unless the sterling is turned. So I contacted my electrician, he said is the horn turn, so when I Voight a new horn turn and it was changed, the "AFS off" light ostarts showing on my dashboard and the automatic head light icon blibking too. It was not there before. He said we have to change the angle sensor. But I don't believe him, since he moved the car without the sensor wen I went to buy the horn turn. Now everything is working perfectly please how do I make this "AFS off" light go off without buying a new angle sensor .
Scan and post codes here, we will tell you if you need any new part
TheBTCinvestor: Infiniti G35x lol..na useless car hahha..The car wan kpai me almost 8years ago..Thank God for growth. It's Benz u drive now..The best or nothing
I stated why people hug Petrol cars,na folks like you cause am.
If Davido buys a Diesel and hypes it, Peller buys one,B lord buys, young guys starts buying, Mechanics will start sourcing, it's a simple cycle...
There are little advantage Petrol cars have over Diesel, folks just believe diesel somkes and its some how crude to own, others prefer petrol engine revs and sound.
I just gave international and national reason.
I'll stop here for now.
By all means, import them, and use. I owe you no explanation and u have no need to continue discussing why you because of your rather haughty response. Experience is a teacher, and has been known to humble even the most adventurous.
Port443: Buying diesel engine here is a waste of money. It requires longer time to warm up and it only excels in highway drive (who drives highway in this insecure country?) Also carbon buildup will come in handy
It is just not worth it, yes, it will have torque but horsepower will be lacking (see the video below)
If motor fails on Abakiliki or Osun high way, body go tell am. E go tow am go back to his mechanic o.
The guy no sabi why many people dey hug petrol cars more than diesel cars. E think say na by wetin dey book, this country, alot of things defies normalcy and logical explanations.
Bimmarlykay: That's not true, Diesel engines are stronger/durable.
200,000km is just a warm up.
Electricals? Yes.
You're a mechanic you should know better.
You who have even been reading online articles and searching online should had known better, our diesel quality does NOT get to Euro3 levels of compliances. These cars are Euro 6.
You'd battle clogged diesel injections pumps endlessly and they are scarce and when you find them, they're extremely expensive. The ADblue are extremely scarce and expensive. Do not forget DPF filter also gers blocked overtime and to replace them, they are scarce and expensive. I had to abandon a W166 ML with a diesel engine for the owner after searching both in Abuja, Lagos, Onitsha and PH for just 1 single diesel injector. The owner eventually had to pay for brand new set from US. It was not cheap. Don't even get me started on how ridiculously simple a hilux and a mitsubishi L200 CRD diesel is, yet, they're complex to mechanics here.
There are reasons why most fleet owners do NOT go near Euro 5 diesel trucks in Nigeria, I can tell you because I'm a fleet manager that handles a number of organisations fleet too.
Dey play, I say, dey play!
I still insist, the god wey dey plan to do am for you, make e no do that type for me.
Brinxs: I'm not in Abuja, however the scan after the last work showed that cylinder 1 is misfiring...the electrician said the issue is from the top cylinder.
Carry out compression tests on all cylinders and post the results here.
AfDapone: Hello friends, my rx400h tailgate is failing. If I tried to open from key or from the button inside the car but it will refuse to open until after I've run the car for like 10 minutes. Does it requires recalibrating after removing car battery because that's the only thing I did that could I suspect.
Also, the gear handle is stiff when changing from park to reverse to neutral and to drive and back.
Thanks.
For thr tailgate, check the tailgate struts, they may be weak or worn out, also, check the auto tail gate opening and closing mechanism, it may be worn out. For the gear shifter, you should check the shift cable that runs from the shifter stick to the transmission.
Brinxs: My car is a Toyota highlander, 2010. Its been misfiring with check engine light blinking. I have changed the 6 plugs and 6 nuzzles yet its still misfiring... what could be the cause??
Have you scanned it and have it properly diagnosed? If yes, what's the results? If no, and you're in Abuja, feel free to contact me.
sooperrescue: Have you checked if the car is supposed to be using premium unleaded fuel only? That's the reason for the failed turbo in most cars.
Oil quality and oil change duration, inefficient and ineffective cooling are the most common causes of failure of turbos, FOD (foreign object damage) cause turbo failure too.
These three factors are the major causes of failure of turbo. Fuel quality may cause it but its not as common as these three factors. Learn to research properly before speaking.
Pro tip for turbo car owners: When you drive for a long distance, or after performing a spirited driving and you arrived at your destination, DO NOT JUST immediately switch off your car, doing this is called HOT STOP and would create HEAT SPOTS, its harmful for the turbo and the health of the engine itself, instead, 2-5mins before you get to your destination, reduce your hard spirited driving or ease off on the driving gradually, then park at your destination, still allow the car to idle for 2-3minutes to allow oil and coolant flow thru the turbo and the engine. This will aid proper uniform cooling of the engine, prevent coking, and cooking of the oil. Doing this will prolong he life of your engine and turbos.
