I'm in a dilemna because on a non-challant AC technician. Some honth back, I took my 2005 EOD for Airconditioning repairs. Ever since then, it has been leaking engine oil. I've taken it to 3 different mechanics. They would do their thing and say it has been fixed.........but it keeps leaking. I'm frustrated.

Oya, Nairaland, why? My phone has fallen at least thirty times. The screen cracked only once. Most of the time, I pick it, dust it and put back in my pocket. No damage whatsoever. TVs nowadays go bad from one hit, accidental or otherwise. My four year old condemned a six-month old TV because a cartoon character got him angry and he chose to attack it with a saucer.

The mechanic said we'll have to replace the engine, I want a second opinion, last time the car was serviced was 3 months there was no check engine or oil pressure light.

Short answer: that “leg-pull” you keep seeing is most often what mechanics call torque-steer / a pulling/jerk under acceleration, not a mysterious brand curse. It’s common on FWD cars and can show up on Hondas, Toyotas and Lexus alike. 

What usually causes it (things to suspect and check)
• Uneven drive forces (driveshaft/CV setup), worn suspension bushings, ball-joints or tie-rods. 
• Worn engine/transmission mounts, bad CV joints, uneven/defective tyres or alignment, dragging brake or wheel-bearing issues. 
• In Nigeria people also report aftermarket/substandard suspension/steering parts (ball-joints/control arms) making the problem show up more. 

Which car to pick (practical view)
• Camry 2013 — solid, easier/cheaper to maintain in Nigeria, fewer surprises if well inspected.
• Honda 2015/2016 (direct Belgium) — generally reliable, but some owners report torque-steer/jerk complaints on certain models — so insist on a clean PPI and road-test.
• Lexus ES350 — more refinement (and price); same mechanical family as Toyota so still can show the same symptoms if worn.
If you want the safest bet for low headache Camry or a properly-inspected Lexus if budget allows — but the deciding factor is the condition and service history, not the badge.

Pre-purchase checklist (must-do before import)
1. Get the VIN and full service/accident history; verify odometer. 
2. Ask for a video of a road-test showing acceleration, straight line at 20–80 km/h and steering feel.
3. Insist on a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) that checks: suspension (ball joints, control arms, bushings), engine/trans mounts, CVs, brake drag, wheel bearings, tyres, alignment and ECU fault codes. 
4. Check for heavy aftermarket parts (replace with OEM where possible) and underbody rust/damage. 
5. If you see pulling on the road-test, ask the inspector to isolate: swap tyres left↔right, check play in steering/suspension, and test with load to reproduce the pull. 

Final practical tip: don’t reject a good model just because of hearsay — buy based on inspection results. If you want, send the VIN(s) and any road-test clips you have; we can run a checklist and advise whether to import or pass.

Same here, I so much wanted the 335i, but after what I saw with my own eyes with my guy's x5, I said, nope. That car spoilt on nearly every journey, and it is just crossing 50k miles on the odo. The volvo was just the blend of what I wanted, it has even raced the 335i and won several times and also a very good daily driver. For the fact that it is rare, I get to steal the show once in a while and also not thief magnet. I bet the Mazdas are like that too

Also the volvo has lots of German vibes, the brakes, the legs, the fuel tank, the handling

Please i want to upgrade from a corolla 2010 to a direct belgium Honda 2015 or 2016, but the leg pull matter convo all over discouraged me, so thought of going for a camry 2013 to avoid leg pull.

But three days ago i saw a lexus Es350 leg pull like honda, and just today saw a corolla 06 leg pull like honda, i was not wondering whats happeneing, seems no car is safe from the leg pulling matter.

Please your humble opinion which car do you think i should go for direct belgium, and what and what should i look out for?

honda EOD 2003/04 Model 4 plugs. It doesn't have that high rev at cold start anymore

Good Evening guys, I have a 2004 Honda Accord EOD, the gear is jerking when switching to gear 1 & 2 but after that it move well but recently the gear fail at times that i need to off the engine and wait for some second then start again, please i need help on how to overcome this

I think you did not get the complains correctly.
The car does not have that high initial rev at cold start up any more. There is something wrong somewhere since it is not how the car was operating formally.

When I start my car in the morning before, the voice will high before it gradually low which shows that the oil has circulated... But now when I start it in the morning it will just dey low until I raise the throttle. I'm worried cos normally it suppose warm by itself before I engage gear... Pls what could be the problem and solution...?

Is GS350 2008 - 2010 advisable to buy in 2025. and what and what should i look into before purchase.
Just want something different from an ES/IS sedan.
Also, what kind of maintaineance should i expect...parts and fuel type. ( since we no get Premium fuel)

......weda it's tanker for fuel or other flatbeds..all can load contrabands...

Tanker drivers load tens of tomatoes basket and other goods in basket, on fuel/diesel tanker...and it's easy because basket are easily tied togeda preventing them from falling

..... Once a driver tells u his truck broke down and it's taking more than 6 hrs his usual time to arrive....just know he has diverted the truck to another route to go pick up contraband

.....that's where fleet manager comes into the runs ... to back up his story that truck broke down....... He will even raise invoice for repairs and parts he ddnt change.....

..Baba..u nor know how e dey go for street........... U are obviously not in fleet management because both managers and drivers and in the runs togeda

I have this old model Sienna. Of recent when I shift to Drive, it takes some seconds before it will enter gear; sometimes up to 30 seconds. But once it moves, gear selection is fine.
What could be going wrong? This doesn't happen to Reverse gear.

Good day my people. I recently purchased a clean nig used 2008 acura tsx. Spent a lot of money putting it together and making sure all is well but it is barely a month and the fuel consumption is scarily high and whenever i go long journey, the engine stalls a bit and the rpm drops to like 400 and eventually black smoke starts. Keep in mind i changed everything that was diagnosed from scanning all o2 sensors and other components except buy a catalyst. What could be wrong. Please help. Appreciate

Good evening guys, please help me on this. I drive a Suzuki Alto car in Lagos. I am sure we would have been seeing those silver color small cars on the street of Lagos.

It happened that i had over heating that got the gasket burnt. My mechanic fixed the burnt gasket and since then my car has not been doing slow. If it manages to do slow, when i go back to gear one, it goes off on the highway. Rewire and mechanic have both checked it, but it is still not doing slow and it goes off on gear one.

What can i do please? I have been battling with this for two weeks now

Is it best to buy single cell or double cell?
