I've followed this particular news aptly in the last few weeks and I must say we have a long way to go. And it's beyond our military and rescue operations might but down to the very mindset of every single Nigerian out there.

Why are most respondent not siding with freeze ? o I get it!!! they are feel that this thread puts the pope in a bad light.
The pope followers are obviously members of free the sheeple movement and this has gone too far!

when the bashing is reversed , the whole thing is now clear!!!

It is okay to feel the pain but don't let it rule you.
I have been in your shoes so let me tell you what i did to overcome the pains.

1. Keep his legacy alive. Working on a project that he was working to benefit others.
2. Keep his memory alive . Ensure what people identify him with stays that way for a very long time.
3. Stay in a supportive system. Religious organisations / social societies can provide that kind of support.
4. Don't let tear wear you or family apart. Inheritance talk, Debts should be avoided as soon as possible.
5. If possible work with a therapist or professional help if you can afford it.
6. Dont Mind the trollers, flamers, mockers on this thread.
7. Dont ask too many far reaching questions , why now , why me, why this , gone too soon? God where are you?
8. Celebrate his achievement here on earth
9. Ensure that you seek for spiritual Help / guidance

There are a lot of scholarships, community assistance, free medical assistance , economical assistance and the likes that Living faith ( and other churches )had offer.
I had a lot of witness who can testify to this. My wife had ante -natal at Gilead for almost nothing.
Media is just blind to cover such and concentrating on the what-they-have-not-done that makes front pages.

The church should not be on a social drive frenzy as the world would imply, that is not its calling.

Those criticizing the church would have done terrible things . They have nothing to show that given the opportunity they will fill in the role.

And a friend just bought a domain name from NIRA and they refused to release the domain name, claiming that it was "specially for the sports organisation in Nigeria" and "they can need it anytime..."

My questions are:
How can they seize it after purchase?
Why didn't they specify it as GoDaddy and others do?
Don't you think they want to resell the domain later? This is to the disadvantage of the poor blogger.

NiRA is a registry. It has registrars ( companies who broker the sales of domain i.e act as middle men), then we have the registrant who request for such. When you make such request, your registrar will have to check the validity of the domain before they agree for the process. What those registrar check is the availability and not the validity. for example a well known case where nigeria.ng was requested and processed by the registrar only to discover that it was not a valid name by the time it got to NiRA.
You are supposed to table this before your registrar and not the registry.

For the guy that spoke about Google.com . You cant register google.com with NiRa only Google.NG. This is a premium domain and attracts much. The registrar and NiRA could not reach an amiable settlement thus the imbrigilo.

For the records, I am not a NiRa staff nor amongst it BODs.

Honestly it is sad that you put in a lot or energy and words into what is essentially empty. You absolutely fail to grasp the core issue. That the scriptural basis for tithes as mandatory in Christianity is weak or non existent. Anyone is free to make voluntary contribution to the church. It cannot function without money. The issue is COMPULSORY PAYMENT of 10% of your salary to the church and the idea that if you don't you will be CURSED. What is the biblical basis for that in the teaching of Jesus

I must confess that i sometimes do not pay my tithes. No body knocks out my door. nobody ask me for my tithes booklet.
There was a time I almost gave my "tithes" but not coming from a pure heart, i withdrew.

For Freeze, he is not a role model to speak on issues like tithes. I rather listen to a goat bleat or balaam donkey bray. seriously.
A deacon must be above repraoch, must be a role model especially in FAMILY circle.
He should stay in his lane and stop forcing people to believe his principles.

Like i said his criticism of the section of the church is well documented. Apart from marraige, his lame criticism of Joel Osteen church is worisome. He hasnt answer the question why he did not open his doors for the those in the society when VI got flooded.

I hope you read ALL my write up as i did. I made subtle criticism of those pastors who take offering and living on these (worthless priest in 1 sam ). I even went as far as suggesting accountability as the orthodox church did. oh, you did not see that abi?

M personal opinion on tithes. ( Please excuse typos as this was done in a rush)

Tithes
1. It is primary and the most effective way to fund or support the church and its operation. The temple was funded by this. It was used to pay the salary of the Priest Pastors and serving officials ( levites etc), feed the poor, print out bulletins, run the generator, seminar , crusades etc (in our present dispensation) .Where are you expecting them to get the money from. The church should be seen as self sufficent and well established based on the finicial strength of members. Organisations, associations, societies etc have finicial members which were levied to help support the group they belong to.
2. The levites / church pastors should imensly benefit from this tithes deutronomy 14: 27-28. Do not muzzle the ox when it tread out grain (Deut 25:4)
3. Eery form of minupulations on tithes for ones selfish gain would attract serious punishmnet from God,1 sam 2:12-17. It is meant to bless the body of christ and not for business entrprise.
4. tithes is no limited to money. A tithes of your energy, time, food stuff, service are areas not yet discussed.I still wonder why
5. Tithes should be given freely and cheerfully so as offering and the rest. Giving tithes under duress and munipulation would only bring more curses.
6. There are blessings attached to tithes offfering etc no matter what people say. I dont need to quote bible verses to support this.People are know to make covenant through tithes and are richly blessed. I AM a LIVING TESTIMONY . I gave more than my tithes and a huge chunk of my salary to a church struggling to survive in a village. barely months later, I saw the Good hand of the LORD manifest.
7. Orthodox church give account of what they spend yearly and ask people to questions. A church who expects people to see the effect of their tithes and offering should take a cue. Note I have not been in a catholic church but grew up in the orthodox church before moving to the penticostal movement. so i cant say much about them
8. The tithes is untouchable and sacred and belongs to the Church and God. No one in his right senses should criticise the church for tithes implementation or use his tithes for selfish gain. No one should also touch what belongs to God including pastors xcept it was allocate even though he/she is the so called founder
9. Pastors get a lot through Prophet offerings, Good will offering, business ventures .The disciple were fishermen, tent makers , lawyers etc. It was easy to switch to other jobs at their leisure time especially when they do not want to make unecessary demand on the church. Some founders still maintain their initial Job or skill set for other reason. Most of this business ventures were not registered under the church but they enjoy Good patronage as people see it as a means of encouraging the owners to further preogress the priniple of Doing Good specially to the members to the household of faith. Imagine the patronage level if the founder or pastorage is involved.
10. Donation could be jet , properties , Land etc. Celebrities still enjoy a high level of Good will in this area. Soif a MOG enjoy this benefits after checks and balance is properly done, then why the criticism?
11. There are honorable mentions of pastors using their wealth. but also pastors (like eli sons) not worth the mention as quote in 1 sam 2:12-

12. People like freeze ( note I have remove the daddy nomenclature ) should not turn the scripture into a laughing stock. He who come to the table must come with a clean heart. Dont like the fact that he is claiming moral right. when John osteen church "refuses" to allow people in during flood , freese castigate. meanwhile VI was flooded yet he never led by example. His marraige is in crisis, (i am sure he would have criticise Oyakhilome) . Do you want me to follow him and claim scriptural truth. I have my own fault and acknowelge them. that is why I am not a pastor.
