Foreign AffairsKhamenei Killing Complied With Laws Of War, Israel Says by Kingzjayzee(op): 4:11am On Mar 06
Israel on Thursday declared that the killing of Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei complied with international law governing armed conflict, describing him as the commander-in-chief of the Iranian military and a legitimate target.

The Middle East war that began on Saturday was triggered by coordinated US and Israeli strikes on Iran, including one that killed the Iranian supreme leader.

Israel has claimed the strikes were essential to safeguard its own national security, in part because Iran was reconstituting its nuclear weapons programme in a new, underground facility.

Israel’s military spokesman Nadav Shoshani said Thursday the strike that killed Khamenei “complied with international law”.

Under the international law of armed conflict, military commanders directing armed forces during war can constitute lawful military targets,” Shoshani said on X.

As Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei served as Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces,” he added, describing the ayatollah as “the final decision-maker on Iran’s military operations”.

During the ongoing conflict, he directed the use of force against Israel and oversaw the funding, arming, and coordination of the regime’s terror proxies…

Neutralizing the regime’s Commander-in-Chief delivered a clear military advantage by degrading Iran’s ability to plan and coordinate attacks against Israel,” Shoshani said.

Iranian media have reported that Khamenei’s wife, son-in-law, and two grandchildren who were minors also died in the strike that killed the ayatollah.

Iran has responded to his killing by launching waves of missile attacks on Israel and targets across the Middle East, including US military and diplomatic sites

Israel and the United States have continued to bomb targets in Iran

PoliticsCross River Lawmaker Ovat Agbor Suspended Over Domestic Violence by Kingzjayzee(op): 1:16am On Mar 06
The Cross River State House of Assembly has suspended Hon. Dickson Ovat Agbor, member representing Obubra I State Constituency, indefinitely over alleged violent conduct.

The decision was reached during plenary following a motion moved by Rt. Hon. Davies Etta and seconded by Rt. Hon. Francis Bassey Asuquo.

In the motion, the Assembly strongly condemned the alleged violent behaviour involving Hon. Agbor, describing it as conduct unbecoming of a lawmaker and contrary to the ethical standards expected of members of the legislative arm of government.

After deliberations, the House resolved that Hon. Agbor be placed on indefinite suspension from all legislative activities.

The Assembly also approved the constitution of a committee to investigate the matter and report its findings back to the House for further legislative action.

According to the Chief Press Secretary to Speaker Elvert Ayambem, Matthew Okache, the suspension followed the resolution, Hon. Agbor was escorted out of the chamber by the Sergeant-at-Arms, in compliance with the directive of the House.

In a remarked, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, stated that the House remains committed to upholding discipline, dignity, and the integrity of the legislature.

He emphasized that members of the Assembly must conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the trust reposed in them by the people.

The suspension remains in force pending the outcome of the investigation by the committee set up by the House.

RomanceBirthday Surprise Or Brutal Revenge? Husband’s Silent Payback Shocks Guests by Kingzjayzee(op): 1:14pm On Feb 24
A man reportedly discovered that his wife was cheating — not through rumors, not through suspicion — but through a hidden camera in their home.

What shocked many wasn’t the cheating.

It was his reaction.
He didn’t shout.
He didn’t fight.
He didn’t confront her.
He didn’t pack her bags.

Instead, he became even more loving.

Every morning, he kissed her and said:

Baby, I’m planning the biggest surprise for your birthday.”

She believed him.

Fast forward to her birthday.

He organized a grand celebration.
He invited her parents.
His parents.
Her closest friends.
About 50 guests in total.

Everything looked perfect.

Then came the “special gift.”

He presented her with a beautifully wrapped portrait.

She smiled. Everyone clapped.

She assumed it was a romantic photo of her.

She opened it.

And everything changed.

The portrait wasn’t what she expected.

The room reportedly went silent.
The celebration didn’t just end — it scattered.

Now let’s discuss:

Was this a smart, calculated move?

Was it justified?

Or did he go too far by publicly humiliating her?

Should betrayal be handled privately or publicly?

If you were in his shoes, what would you have done?

In this era where relationships crash daily, is silent revenge better than emotional outbursts?

Let’s hear your honest opinion.

FamilyRe: Has Your Childhood Best Friend Ever Abandoned You When He/she Became Successful? by Kingzjayzee: 11:20pm On Feb 21
Oracleee:
Peter comes to mind.

Early 2000s. We were kids close childhood friends. Our mums worked at the same place. We spent alternating weekends in each other’s houses. Him and his brothers would stay with us, we’d stay with them. We attended the same primary school. It was that kind of bond family-level closeness.
Then his mum got the opportunity to relocate to greater London. This was even before the whole japa wave became a thing. While she was sorting herself out, they stayed with us. Eventually she came back for her husband and kids, and off to London they went.
We lost contact for about a year.
One day, my mum said, “You people want to speak with the Babatopes?” We were excited me and my siblings. Childhood friends reconnecting after relocation? Sweet moment, right?
Wrong.
Peter and his siblings denied knowing us.
Flat out.
Asking “Who is this?” When I tried explaining, he acted like he had no idea who I was. My mum was shocked. I was a boy almost entering my teenage years, and my supposed best friend more like a brother that I already used to brag to my friends around erased me like I never existed.

That day stayed with me.
Fast forward about 15 years later. He wanted to come to Nigeria for something and needed help with security and accommodation. He reached out through my mum.
At that time, I was in the UK on course at Sandhurst.
I took my pound of flesh.
I feigned complete ignorance. Said I wasn’t even in the country. His mum called, acting surprised that I didn’t “know” them. The irony was loud.
Eventually I returned to Nigeria after my program. He was still around and tried reaching out to meet up. But that childhood hurt stuck with me. I cut ties completely.
Maybe people change. Maybe kids do silly things. But one thing I know is this if he had met me in a place where I wasn’t doing well, I doubt he would’ve wanted to reconnect.
Some people remember you only when you’re useful or successful.
I don’t hate him. I just believe in energy matching energy.
very deep story with great life lesson 🤔

CrimeCourt Sentences Winners Chapel Pastor To Death For Murder by Kingzjayzee(op): 12:16pm On Feb 21
A State High Court in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, has sentenced a 29-year-old resident pastor of Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), Ifa Ikot Ubo–Ifa Ikot Okpon branch, Emmanuel Umoh, to death by hanging for the murder of his landlord, Gabriel Edward.

Mr Edward, 23, was a final-year civil engineering student of the University of Uyo. Results released after his death showed he graduated with a first-class degree.

Justice Gabriel Ette delivered the judgement on Thursday after finding Mr Umoh guilty of stabbing the young student to death on 21 December 2020 at Ifa Ikot Ubo, Uyo.

Promising life cut short

Mr Edward had moved into his late mother’s property to safeguard the estate and stay closer to school. Before her death in December 2019 , his mother had established a nursery school in the compound.

The hall built for the school was later rented to Living Faith Church for worship at an annual rent of N150,000, with the approval of his father, Emana Edward, a retired principal. The church began using the hall even before completing payment, and Mr Umoh was later posted there as pioneer resident pastor, a judiciary reporter in Uyo, Harrison Essien, wrote on Facebook.

The deceased lived in a two-bedroom flat in the compound with his younger brother. Church items were stored in the flat after the pastor requested access for security reasons. To ease access, Mr Edward, on his father’s instruction, gave the pastor a spare key.

Soon after, the belongings of the deceased’s late mother reportedly began to disappear. When confronted, the pastor claimed he had lost the key. Locks were later changed after the church’s senior pastor provided funds, and the theft stopped, according to the evidence before the court.

Tension later developed between the two men over rent money meant for repairs.

The day of the killing

On 21 December 2020 , witnesses saw Mr Umoh enter the compound. Neighbours later heard loud screams of “Jesus” from inside the premises. Moments later, the pastor emerged wearing a white garment stained with blood, claiming he had fallen while hanging a banner.

Mr Edward was not seen alive again.

On 26 December, his decomposing body was discovered in his room, wrapped in a mat with deep cuts. A butcher’s knife was found beside him. Being the last person seen with the deceased and unable to explain the bloodstains, Mr Umoh was arrested and later charged with murder.

The defendant was arraigned on 6 December 2021, on a murder charge, which he pleaded not guilty to.

The prosecution called six witnesses, including the deceased’s father, who narrated the events leading to the tragedy.

In an over two-hour judgement, Justice Ette described the case as “very sympathetic,” recalling the efforts of the deceased’s late mother to build a future for her children.

The judge held that the prosecution had proved its case beyond a reasonable doubt and condemned the irony of a religious leader committing murder within church premises.

Judge’s emotional words

Justice Ette, in his ruling, stressed that life is sacred and those who claim to represent God must protect it, not destroy it.

He said it was shocking that a man of faith could kill in a place meant for worship, asking what the young student did to deserve such a cruel death. He reflected on how the victim cried out “Jesus” while being attacked, yet mercy never moved the attacker.

The judge warned that society is unsafe when people who pretend to be righteous commit evil. He declared that justice must prevail.

Life is sacred, and those who represent God on earth should teach that.

It is an irony and quite appalling when a man, who claims to be the representative of the divine on earth, stoops so low as to take someone’s life in the premises of the church.

He heard the deceased scream, ‘Jesus! Yet the defendant inflicted the second cut and many more.

Today is judgement day on earth. I think men like him are not to be allowed a space in a free society.

Having found you guilty as charged, I hereby sentence you to death by hanging.”

Prosecution reacts

Speaking in the courtroom shortly after the judgement, the prosecution counsel, Iniobong Essang, said the case was deeply emotional and that justice had prevailed.

Today is quite emotional for me. Some cases inevitably find their way into our hearts,” the prosecution said, praising the judge’s “well-considered judgement” and noting that justice, though delayed, was not denied.

The prosecution added that the verdict brought some comfort to the victim’s family and prayed for the repose of Mr Edward’s soul.

Mr Edward, Premium Times gathered, had reportedly told relatives a day before the incident that he had recovered many of his missing belongings. Less than 24 hours later, he was murdered by the pastor.

For his family, the judgement closes a long and painful chapter, but the loss of a promising young life — a first-class graduate cut down in his prime — remains a wound that time may never fully heal.

A young woman identified as Bola has reportedly taken her own life in the Ogba area of Lagos, leaving colleagues and neighbours shocked.
Source

A Nigerian woman has reportedly died by suicide in the Ogba area of Lagos, leaving behind a heartbreaking handwritten note that has left family, friends and neighbours in deep shock and sorrow.

The woman, identified as Bola, was said to be a staff member at Wado Credit & Co. According to reports, she had been struggling with serious personal and financial challenges before her death.

Those who knew her described her as calm, hardworking and private, which has made the news even more difficult for many people to accept.

Sources in the area said the incident happened at her residence in Ogba.

She was later found unresponsive after allegedly taking a poisonous substance.

Emergency efforts to save her life were not successful.

Authorities are said to be investigating the matter to understand what led to the tragic decision.

What has deeply touched many people is the note she reportedly left behind.

In the handwritten message, Bola is said to have expressed feelings of failure, deep emotional pain and fear about her future.

Though the full contents of the note have not been officially made public, those who saw it said it showed how overwhelmed she felt by her situation.

Colleagues revealed that in recent weeks she appeared withdrawn and unusually quiet, though she continued reporting to work.

Some said she rarely spoke about her problems and often kept her struggles to herself.

Neighbours also said she mostly stayed indoors and avoided long conversations, something they did not think much about at the time.
