SUPERPACK: Just got $4.6 for a 23mins call, with 122 statements only. I picked it by 9:00am today, and guess what, the customer was kept on hold from 3mins to 15mins, that's 12mins straight, I completed and submitted it 3hr 30min before time up. That's my highest pay for a single call. . I also picked a 6mins call by 8:20am today, with all statements ending in 1.8mins finished it in 20mins and got a 4 rating almost immediately. Today seem to be blessed. The thing dey sweet and e don even spoil me now sef. I wait till evening to use my 5 releases to seek out calls with the best audio and most gas. Got one 27min call this am with a Latina rep. Although there was not much AI text due to the accent of the rep and the bad audio of the customer, she kept him on long holds 4 times in the conversation and many other mini holds. The rest na spelling bee for email address and phone number. I finished the job in 1hr 30min majorly cos I had to listen during the hold too cos the rep fit talk something like "I'm still searching for your account and stuff" Rep couldn't locate the account with all the email addresses and phone numbers tried and had to tell the customer she will check and call back. If to say na me be cust I go ask for compensation for time wasted. Now I'm waiting for the next wave of good calls to cherry-pick.

Raconteur14: LANDING GIST
This has been way overdue but I just have to give it anyway. This journey has been long and it is only favour that brought me here.
I shared my PPR STORY here.
Booked my ticket with Ethiopian airline for July 31st. It was almost a 24 hour journey. Got to the airport just two hours before but was able to check in very easily. I didn't have any food nor did I have goods to follow. Only had one bag with excess luggage and gladly paid 60USD for it. (I heard Lufthansa is $173.)
It wasn't easy leaving friends and family behind but the moment I entered the plane, I was already focused on my new life. First part of the journey was easy, just about 5 hours to Ethiopia. I ate the food as I don't discriminate. I forgot to mention that an elderly woman wanted to do a Soyinka with my window seat but I politely asked her to move. Another woman asked I let her just sit but I told her that I chose the seat for a reason.
Used the wifi at Ethiopia to keep the fam updated and to download some youtube videos to watch on the almost 16hour flight to Toronto. It was largely uneventful and long. Kept standing up to walk around and stretched my legs. Watched about four or five movies and ate all the food that came my way. Also met a nice Nigerian couple with their children who were moving to Alberta and we talked for a bit.
Landed at Pearson airport according to schedule. The line for immigration was so long and after about one and a half hours, I was finally welcomed to Canada and then did my SIN. My wife picked me up at the airport and not long after, I had eaten both food and something else .
Went out the next day to get my SIM, opened a bank account with RBC and got a credit card for $2,000 and I don't pay charges for the next one year. Started driving that day as I needed to acclimatize real quick.
Started my ACCES Employment bridging program in Brampton and it has been good so far. I end that next week and really look forward to starting a job real soon. Wifey has been good to me and this is the first Saturday I have actually just sat at home all day.
I hope to do my driver's licence soon and get a job. I am just glad for the time I arrived because summer is ending now and "WINTER IS COMING".
Hope to keep you guys posted. Hi Congratulations on your PR and I wish you well in your future endeavors. Your landing gist no be here o... In fact I dey very surprised it took you less than 6months when the CIC website says 12months. I have a few questions though... Pls permit me My sis will be getting married to her fiance in Dec and will be applying for spousal sponsorship in Jan 1. Her fiance has been denied visas 2ce, do you think it will have any effect on the processing time. Do you have any travel history? 2. Did ur spouse have to submit proof of meeting LICO requirements or can you please share the list of the documents you submitted? She's also worried about proof of communication since most of the call and texts are through WhatsApp 3. If you have any link that was helpful to you, please share |

Torch1: This is bla bla calling from club report or club resort?
SOR call. The background is noisy.
Is it club resort or club report?
Any idea? Should be resort. You got to listen well before and after club to get what else you missed. You'll most likely hear it mentioned in other parts of the audio. Proceed with caution though. This sounds like rep to rep. Listen to the full clip first |

Playz:
And here I was, thinking they've got the best pay from a transcription site. Please explain more, how much do other sites pay? I'm really in the dark about this. QA pays one of the lowest among the companies that recruit worldwide. Rev pays one of the highest rates but it's still lower than industry standards though. Rev will pay you around $8.50 for a 20-minute video |

generationz: I thought of when this nonsense started.
That way people don't choose their calls, they fight for it.
Though this thing has helped me.
Terrible calls I would have released I worked on and got a five.
I'm just going to keep refreshing all the time. Yeah. That's exactly what they want. If the pay was good that would have made sense. Now they have somewhat created an environment of competition like the top transcribing companies but their own pay is shitty. |

SUPERPACK: the chances of bagging an FC...UK call just increased by 300% including Ct group call that normally use foreign language anyhow. throughout the week I do exhaust all my release token, getting a good call is not easy. and all of a sudden I cannot see my dear Pen Fuster calls on the queue. Yeah. Even the UK accent calls are no where to be found |

Menuskiiiii: I actually did 220 minutes. Just noted when calls were being loaded and refreshed around that time. I also did a lot of long calls 25 to 35 mins, guess I was just lucky. Since yesterday sha, nothing nothing. You were really lucky. Let's hope this week is better than the last one cos I don dey refresh since yesterday and the queue has been clean. I guess it's porting time |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Self Employment Opportunity: Transcribing For A Living In Nigeria Part 1 by kinzu(m): 6:03am On Sep 16, 2019 |
generationz: I believe this too.
During the week I noticed if one is willing to reload continuosly you will see calls .
I have been doing long calls and enjoying them for a while now, but today is dry gaan. Last week was the dryest so far, yet the leaderboard has got folks with 500 and 600 minutes. I think these numbers would have been possible upper week but last week? I don't think so unless they all have work that have not been rated for more than three weeks. I think management is trying to make transcribers believe that the dearth of calls is because of the poor transcripts so that those that work on the few ones that are available can't be picky and will want to do a quality job and I think that the strategy is effective. Was anyone here able to bag up to 200 minutes? This is a poll. For research purposes. I did 68 minutes, my lowest in months |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Self Employment Opportunity: Transcribing For A Living In Nigeria Part 1 by kinzu(m): 5:05pm On Sep 15, 2019 |
nwafresh: There's sense in this. I've been seeing long calls on my dashboard since last week. I have no opinion that to pick them. There was a day I did 36 minutes call as well as 21 minutes. Same day. Whatever they want to do, they should ensure that they rate the calls instead of carrying them over to next week. I'm still having a 29 minute call since Sept 3rd. Yeah. Something is definitely going on that management is keeping mute about. Abi them don sell QA ni? |

thorrvik55: I get that. But even as at a month ago, calls were always on queue. Even if the number of transcribers on the platform doubled or tripled, the calls would not have reduced the way it did.
These days, the only time the queue is full is when calls are just uploaded.
There is definitely something going on that we are not aware of. I agree. SCC already hinted the flooding of the platform with transcribers that turn in low quality work. I have noticed something. Every time we get that error 504 or 404 or something, after that, we get a major update. The queue reduced after the last major service outage. I think the top transcribers are seeing a different call queue. When they have their pick, the rest then gets passed down to the rest of the world. Just like newbies only get to see those 2-minute calls. They have no issues with the newcomers. They already have their problems solved if the weekly leaderboard is anything to go by. |

Biritiko: Hello boss, do you know if there’s any kind of withdrawal limit? Maybe a monthly limit or something? PayPal said my withdrawal limit has been lifted when I opened my account and linked a card some months ago. But I’m still being very careful cos I’m skeptical about the limit stuff. Unless your pp is fully verified (proof of address and ID) and you have linked verified bank accounts, pp can still play with your money. There are limitations no one knows about until you try to make a withdrawal. Then you get that dreaded "something went wrong..." screen. My advice will be to limit your inflow to as few sources as possible and only make withdrawal to the same card if you don't have a bank account linked to the pp account. Secondly, keep daily withdrawals below $500. Never leave your account empty (always have at least $2) left after withdrawals and if you are operating a merchant account, limit pp to pp transactions. Don't withdraw funds immediately it hits your account |

I have a feeling that person is new. Can you imagine having the rare opportunity to work in QA, and then recommending that they should stop recruitment for now?
As hilarious as it sounds, that was really over-reaching. C'mon!!! Rubbish. Make he go join Rev na. He was prolly seeking some kind of favor from management. He should have been shut down immediately. What was management's response |

I use a phone by the way Your work is saved automatically if you use Chrome with a good internet connection. Even when you refresh, you should get your work back. That's why qa advises you to use that browser |

Ayo199: Guys am on a call now, the customer gave the ohine to his daughter because he isn't fluent in English..the daughter interprets the rep words to his dad in a different language in some parts of the work. Do I ignore those parts? I don't think its what FAQ answered.. Ignore if the foreign content was not more than a sentence and wasn't spoken to the rep. Check for other foreign content in the audio. If the foreign content exceeds one whole sentence, then it should be for release already. |

HOW MUCH IS THE TAX that UBA would deduct from the stuff? Like the normal bank charges, I'm yet to see any deductions yet. Has anyone thought it would be free or something?
What's it going to be like? Anyone with an idea? The bank is making a killing bro, check your account statements on gtp... There's a monthly account maintenance charge and SMS charges too 4 Naira a pop. I also want to believe that they still take something from the sweet rates being offered. It's good business for them.
