The K20 (& Pro) and the Asus Zenfone 6 pretty much kill the Samsung A70/A80 and the OnePlus lineup for me. Seriously feeling those phones. Lack is SD card slot is a no-no for me.

12mp,1.8 aperture & 1.22 microns vs 48mp,1.8 aperture & 0.8 microns... It's like 0.8 is bigger than 1.22 in your village abi?undecided
12mp,1.8 aperture & 1.22 microns vs 12mp,2.2 aperture & 1.25 microns... There isn't any comparison here, everyone knows that the smaller the aperture value, the more light enters your camera thereby resulting in clearer pictures
But I've noticed something grin, the fact that you're using specs on paper to determine camera prowess means u don't know any damn thing about cameras... U even got your facts wrong even with your "proof" sad... Guy go to bed, you've embarrassed yourself enough

Quad-Bayer pixel structure on the 48mp IMX586 makes it effectively a 12mp sensor with 1.6um pixels. Just correcting that small thing, not saying it's better than iPhone X tho. Software processing goes a long way. Hence the power of GCAM. The presence of OIS is also huge.

Yes, heat destroys battery, but using to 0% had nothing to do with heat.

Heat arises when charging at high voltages quick/unregulated chargers, charging your phone under hot conditions, using your phone under hot temperatures, charging and using your phone etc.

So you're not wrong, but using till 0% relates more to discharge cycle than heat.

Charging to 100% or to 0% (or close values) stresses the battery. This will make it depreciate faster than if you didn't do that. That's what I'm trying to say.

More like doing that triggers full cycle. Battery usually have between 400 & 500 charging cycles before their capacity drops to about 80%. Doing full discharges often will make you lose some of your battery capacity quickly.

Also note that if you're charging partially, you're also using part of the cycle, just that two 50-100% charges doesn't necessarily mean 1 full cycle, it could be three or four times before it counts it as a full cycle.

Just my layman explanation.

Number of cycles left, isn't quite the same as battery depreciation (which I was warning against); depreciation is the rate at which you lose cycles left. E.g. plenty of heat will quicken the depreciation of your battery and leave your battery in a poorer condition than if you used it in a cooler place. That's the kind of effect the voltage thing has. There's a reason why some manufacturers (laptops too) include settings to limit the maximum charge of your battery, it's for the sake of longevity.

Use till it's 0%..

Don't do that often, li-pol batteries, as used in most smartphones these days, don't take extremely low or extremely high (internal) voltages well. It's recommended to always keep your battery between 20-80% for best longevity.

Business / Re: Power Crisis: Senator Calls For Ban On Generators by klez(m): 2:09pm On Jul 15, 2008
Oi! what do you mean think positively? Thinking positively in this country requires the death (or equivalent) of several I-feel-higher-than-the-president individuals. That's thinking positively. You cut off the head so the body doesn't die.(In this case the body can grow a new head).

About the gen issue, Esss said it all:

Esss:

If they want a productive ban, Let them ban generators in all federal parastatals and offices, starting with the presidential villa, gorvernment houses, Federal and states secretariats, Federal and states houses of assemblies, the judiciaries, e.t.c. Then they will sit up.

Why punish the people for the crime of the government.

That's what they should do. Make the suckers taste their own medicine.

1st @ skylabnn, what the heck is "a sponsored job"? If I am badly treated, I don't need someone to pay me before I warn others (and vent my frustration- side effect). I think I have made it clear (and if somehow not, read it now) that I am not saying that ALL laptops they roll out will give you this exact scenario I'm in, but that if u do find urself in it, you'll be hung out to dry. I am a University student and the said notebook is not entirely mine but I use it very often, more so than the owner and I know everything about it. Like that it's DVD/CDRW drive (which works fine) is on the same IDE channel as the hard drive thus any attempts to play a c.d. and do anything else meaningful results in system crippling. (Who in their right mind still does that? It's just one cable/slot for pete's sake, fit it in!) And that playing any of my games means its strictly a desktop (unless you want roasted laps - try 55C). I understand that you're in a corporate environment, even the worst companies will attend to their biggest costumers while dutifully ignoring the small fry like me. Afterall, he bought only one sad. Oh, and where did you get those ridiculous reliability figures from? shocked Please don't say the Z word. My point is this: where is the local support or the money value of what I'm buying?

As for Sun Tzu, no, my passport is with me and has never been stamped. And I would happily open my own company AND hire Nigerians if I was in the position to grin, our people a good at many things. About the issue at hand, however, I never said that other laptops don't have issues. But if I was in U.K or U.S. or France or South Africa, Dell, Acer, H.P or Gateway, e.t.c would have attended to me better than Zinox currently have. And there is no denying that fact. I am a complete computer geek and know my stuff (ATi's new HD 4800 series, anyone?) and read reviews of products online regularly (checking prices afterwards - try newegg.com) and I can say that ZINOX SUPPORT IS AWFUL AND THEIR COMPUTERS ARE THE LEAST VALUE FOR MONEY SYSTEMS I'VE SEEN ANYWHERE). (would've have mentioned Apple or Sony but with them you get style [most of the time] and awesome screens). On the last bit, If Zinox is listed on the stock exchange I might actually buy their stock, but only as long as there are enough people like you to keep them afloat. (Which believe it or not is NOT a happy thought)
Computers / Re: My Experience With A Zinox Laptop by klez(m): 1:27pm On Jul 01, 2008
About the people that say that Zinox needs help or support or whatever, I think they should have gotten their feet already. I mean, come on they've been in operation for what, more than five years? I'm not saying that all Zinox computers are craptacular, just that if you get one that is, you will hit several hard, brick walls.

I've seen several notebook first efforts and basically, the bring something new to their market. Sometimes its performance, for others its style, value, etc. What makes me want to buy a Zinox laptop? There are two possible reasons:1. Available fast local help & support desk cry and 2. Value angry

Huh?

Where is the nearest Acer, Gateway or HP official outlet?
Computers / Re: My Experience With A Zinox Laptop by klez(m): 1:14pm On Jul 01, 2008
Well that's a lot of comments, esp like dnative's.`

After waiting nearly 2 full weeks for support that their website boldly claims will arrive within 24hrs, I decided to call the nearest Zinox representative's office yesterday (Monday). I got thru to the lady who (seeming kindly) directed me to the MICT Unit at Unizik Awka, claiming that their battery "does not depreciate" ----*** and that their engineer goes to Unizik every Tuesday (e.g. today) and Thursday to attend to Unizik staff problems. On arriving there, I finally got to see the Head of the MICT (Management Information and Computer Technology Unit) who was thoroughly frustrated that the woman sent me there. According to him (he seemed genuinely angry so I suppose he was telling the truth) the supposed engineer has not shown up since last year (precisely since the day he was introduced as the support engr.) and that the lady herself only shows up to collect her check for payment. He tried calling her there and then (on speakerphone) to no avail and decided then to memo the V.C. on the issue. Also showed me lots (a dozen or so) faulty Zinox laptops lying around his office. Upon asking where I could purchase a new battery he said I have to contact the company, that they used a custom made battery. Well, how about that.

I have to say that this is just abysmal support. This battery is now at 25% capacity, (YES down from 45% two weeks ago!!! TWO WEEKS!!!! How is that even possible?) I know voltage had not hand in this cause I have several other appliances running from the same power outlet. I wonder what will happen when it reaches zero.

Forget the fact that I may have received a single faulty part, their attitude to this is simply screaming GO F**K URSELF. If this is how "buying Nigerian" feels, I think I know where I stand.
Computers / Re: Help With Blue Screen! by klez(m): 8:31pm On Jun 27, 2008
It woud seem your cmos battery has problems, this would explain why your settings reset every time you reboot. The reset of settings could also have undone windows. Try setting everything to default settings (should be an option for this somewhere in your bios) AFTER replacing your cmos battery (on the motherboard, new one should be no more than 250).
Computers / Re: My Experience With A Zinox Laptop by klez(m): 8:27pm On Jun 24, 2008
Well, I contacted the rubbish company through their online support service at their website (the laptop model i use isn't even listed there!) where they boast that they will solve your problem in under 24hrs. Well it's been more than 72 and nothing. -

"Either the ticket does not exist or no solution has been provided for it yet.
Please check back soon."

P.S. the laptop now lasts just over an hr after a full charge of 2 hrs.

On another note: Is it possible to sue these people? I hate it when people are cheated because of "apparent" undecided lack of current I.T. knowledge.
