Amidst Recession: Work Resumes in over 20 Major Roads in Anambra... #ObianoEffect

In keeping with governor Willie Obiano's promise to commence construction of roads after the rainy season, the Anambra State Government has embarked on massive construction of roads across the three senatorial zones of the state.

Already, contractors have been mobilized back to sites to commence immediate works on over twenty major roads.

In the south senatorial zone, some of the roads are: Ekwulobia-Ezinifite road; Ezira-Umuomaku-Umunofia-Achina road; Igwe Oluoha road, Ihiala; Ndiukwuenu-Ufuma-Awa road; School of Health Services road, Nnewi; Oyeutu-Aguata-Utu road; Chisco Osumenyi road; Coscharis Umudim-Nnewi road and Enem Hall, Otolo-Nnewi road.

In the central senatorial zone, work is currently on-going on many roads which include Aroma-Secretariat road and Aroma-Judiciary road and Amansea axis of the Onitsha-Enugu expressway.

In the north senatorial zone, the Nteje-Umunya road and Umunya-Awkuzu axis of the Onitsha-Enugu expressway amongst others are currently undergoing rehabilitation.

Announcing the commencement of construction work on the roads during aTown Hall meeting of ASATU held in Nnewi recently, the state Commissioner for Information and Communication Strategy, Ogbuefi Tony Nnachetta appealed to communities in which these roads pass through to cooperate with the state government to ensure that the roads are well done for the benefit of those living in the areas.

Ogbuefi Nnachetta apologized for the inconvenience the current construction is causing on commuters and motorists adding that it was for the good of all.

What about otuacha -Nzam-inoma road in Anambra West? I never understand this Willie Obiano oh! For the first time we have never had a tarred road since the days of creature up till now. What did we do? I was thinking that Obiano will take the road as his first priority. Anambra West is only local government in Anambra State that can not be boost of road(good or bad) ,no electricity (epileptic or current), no hospital, no good school and many social amenities which we are lacking compare to other part of Anambra. Some times I will ask myself "ARE WE REALLY SURE THAT WE ARE PART OF ANAMBRA". PLEASE EVERYBODY SHOULD PLEASE HELP US REACH THE GOVERNOR THAT ANAMBRA WEST-NZAM NEED ROAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because that is what we suspect the present government intends to do with herdsmen killing people in the south East, South West and South South recklessly.

KOWA party has no structure many people weren't even aware of them neither did they watch the debate on TV. I was oppotuned to watch it and I know that Madam has what it takes to be a good leader, but the party she belongs to did not create enough awareness about her candidacy

Politics have no level playing ground for any gender, it is a game of who have the mind and what it takes do it.

This post was written to sensitize such people to discard their biases and vote for a competent individual as a governor even if that person happens to be a female.

Yea I agree, but do you know that some people will also vote for you just because you're a woman and beautiful. A girl won SUG President in Uniben for the first time in the history of the school, do you know that people voted for her majorly because she is a woman not because she is more competent than other males. There complain is that since males have been ruling for past decades what benefits do they have, That they want to have a test of a girl and they voted for her. So people have different inclinative mind set but that doesn't deter you from aspiring for what you want to be.

Yes, I agree with your point but when the position of the first lady of a state is officially created with no alternate consideration for the position of the first gentle man of a state, it gives one the idea that the role of governor is reserved for the male gender

Just bear it in mind that there is nothing like first lady Constitutionally recognised, the position is just ceremonial. The President may wish not to have a first lady, it's unofficial position.

U have the full right to aspire for any position u want, nobody is stopping u. But if you lose don't take it on angle that it's because your are woman that why you lose because there are many men who have aspired to that particular position and loose.

That we are Africa we reason some how. That u are a woman dose not qualify u to be a governor but we black tends to think some how, that's why u see some Africa country given women some position not that they qualified but because they are women. There are many women in Senate and house of rep, is it not men and women of Nigeria that voted for them? In my senatorial district, out of four people that had represented us three are women (chuba okadigbo- male,Joy emordi-female ,Margret okadigbo- female, Stella Odua-female). We shouldn't be forcing a woman to a particular position just because they have not had a woman before in that particular position but let her be there because merit it.

The problem with with this guys underrating Anambra is that they tends to compare Anambra to Lagos. We all knows that Lagos is far more urbanised than Anambra but is at least Anambra is better than other states

U know ezinifite in nnewi south, my mum is from there. The problem we have in the east is that we like to make noise. Apart from Nnewi, Awka and Onitsha , those other cities are hard to live in if you grew up in Lagos.
