The lady koi-koi I heard of was a teacher that died prematuredly via auto accident. She had a trademark in the school where she taught;High heeled shoes aka koi-koi.i though she came back to look for her son that was taken away from her? |
shut da hell up. aint nobody claiming to be from poverty-stricken big foreheaded and buck tooth people Ethiopia. Don't even try to start that damn shyt. Which Igbo claimed to be from Ethiopia and what does an Ethiopian know about any Nigerian tribe let alone Igbo?awww that wasn't nice he was just asking remember?silly THREAD. Why are fools always obsessed with origin of Igbos? We are Igbo simple and could care less if migrated from MARS like as if doing so will change our lives for the better.I know, Does it really matter?? dont worry Nigeria will soon be shared so u can have your primitve republic.sorry to say this but dnt be an A**, ok? y u wishing 4 d country to be split? go split urs up. wht happens here isnt ur problem <sickeningly sweet smile> |
No, it’s because River State is a conglomeration of confused souls.that shows just how much u know ![]() Their english surnames were given to them as a form of colonization, cuz the white people couldn't e bothered to try pronounce the local names, not cuz people are 'confused' or tryn 2 change their identitiy, k? |
Heyyy. This is kinda unfair, i agree Italian accent is d sexiest, but wat happened to the Jamaican accent or Indian accent. They sound well sexy too,INDIAN LIKE INDIAN INDIAN? ![]() |
oh, that I really don't know, but i know they do have a soft spot for them. I'm not sure if they feel THAT close though, lol (i'm not sure f its them in general or just my family, they're quite partial when it comes to ndi Igbo ) |
not again!!!!!!!!! loll tell me about it |
@mbatuku2 i know, such a small town, too much history lol and as for Igbo yeah i do my mum's dialect tho (she's 4rm ohafia)chyz, I'm not so sure i understand what u mean. If asked, they will tell you they're from Rivers state, but from what i've seen and experienced, i'd say they're much closer to Igbos, but could u xplain what ur question means? afam, it's really funny, isn't it? I mean Ikwerre people arent Igbo, or we would call them Igbo not Ikwerre. they do have ( i heard) some kind of a history [it's actually kinda obvious, the lang, their names etc] but i want to know [and please forgive my not knowing] are Ikwerre people Ijaw?? cuz i know of other minorgroups that are, but ive never heard of Ikwerre people being mentioned as such |
Yeah thats the funny thing u know, whenever they're around they always interact in igbo, (quite honestly i'm not sure they know the the language beyond hello, good morning, thats wht i mean by the language is dying absolutely nothing against igbo or whatsoever) |
Yeah he does, its kinda crazy actually, he grew up in both areas, but he's always been closer to Igbo people I guess, thts where he met my mum ![]() |

@ mbatuku2 If ur suggesting that my father lied then u obviously have smthing up :/ remember, he's nt exactly 100% familiar with the place cuz hisown father didn't familiarize him with it, i guess im asking u to explain what u mean by sme people arent telling the truth about Opobo. have u ever been there urself ![]() @ Chyz* looolzzz i guess my history needs sum work nyway, id love 2 learn d language i really dont care how ![]() |
what does Lei mean? it's a beautiful name, yeah bt whts it's meaning? |
IT SUCKZZ THAT I CAN'T SPEAK MY LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!! however, my father couldn't teach it to me because his father never spoke it to him, so NOBODY in his family speaks the language enough to be able to teach me. If anything, I can only say a few things which i learn from a few other people from d same place (and of course what my name means) but I MUST learn the language (and I mean IBANI), sad thing is in Opobo people dont even speak d language, anymore it's been replaced by some messed up slangy version of pidgin Igbo (idk i heard this from my dad, i've never been there apparently u can learn if u go to the interior of Bonny) when people hear of dying languages they immediatley think of some lost tribe in India, when in fact so many of our languages are being forgotten. :''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''( |

half of the names(if not all) that are being called western have other roots that are far from being western. americans themselves don't really have thier own names except for the ones answered by the natives there. 2 tell d truth names like "omari" and "latoya" have african roots themselves. no wahala. name na name. |

becko! can somebody please tell me why our nigerian children are ashamed of their names ? what is wrong with it ? is it because we are a little diffrent when it comes to pronouncation and spelling ., but what about the asians, the indians, the spanish and the french , most of the naija kids when asked " what is your name?" instead of saying Ugochukwu or Chimezie or Ijeoma they say bobby , chi-chi, or omy , WHAT IN THE WORLD ! Nwatakiri kedu ihe bu ahagi ! Gini bu aha nna gi ! Geesz , What is bobby ?! Mechae onu gi ! Going back to the main topic , , why do you think our nigerian kids are ashamed of their names? where do they get it from ?! is it their[parents' fault ? where is naija heading from this ? Im all about culture and tradition ,so when i hear this it really shames me ., what can be done about this though? what is it about our name that we can't stand up tall and say it with PRIDE ! I wonder this kind thing don tire me |
everyone that lived with me had different methods. mum always opened the windows or shouted till i got up. <it was hard not to cuz she has a very loud voice> dad tickled my feet till i got fustrated and HAD to stand up my younger brothers came into my room and annoyed me until i stood up to chase them away my seniour sisters poured cold water all over me my older brother pulled me off the bed until i landed on the floor me younger sister would take everything that she liked from my room singing I HAD TO GET UP |
my mother is igbo but my dad is from Rivers state. am i still accepted in this gathering? ![]() |
i personaly think kids raised in Nigeria are better, cuz i think Nigerians are more disciplined, but spoony is right, it depends on who the child is raised. ![]() |
