lol "dude" you're funny. |
If we do not have a base to establish our argument, how can we deem it right or wrong? I'll attempt to clarify my prior post to you since you misinterpreted(the point is that we should be able to rejoice @ the ascension into heaven) where are you getting the meal of pass-over from that's another entity though similar. you know what they said about him ascending 3 days after death(not death death). how was it perceived is what we're dealing with here. Maybe this'll help: We know and believe that it is wonderful for God's people; but, this morning, remember that Jesus underwent that change too, from this life into the glory of the hereafter. For Him, who was the Son of man and the Son of God, what a reception there must have been for Him. We sang a little bit about that in Psalm 24: "Ye gates, lift your heads, the glad summons obey, ye doors everlasting, wide open the way; the King of all glory high honors await, the King of all glory shall enter in state." "When God's saints go to heaven, princes and princesses enter into the glory of the majestic King. But here is the King Himself, the King of all kings, the Lord of all lords entering into the realm of the perfect. What a day! How the angels must have rejoiced! How Adam and Eve and Abel and Enoch and Noah and Abraham and David and Solomon must have rejoiced to see Jesus enter into heaven! No wonder, according to our passage in verse 52, they worshiped Him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy and continued in the temple praising and blessing God. This is even before the Spirit was poured out. They knew, though in a limited way, they had caught a glimpse of the wonder of the ascension of Jesus, and it awed them. The glory of heaven present now in their Savior who had departed from them was seen on their faces because it shone in their hearts through faith. He has gone into heaven. Let us not be sad. Let us rejoice! He is gone from us, but He is gone into the presence of His Father. Let us worship Him. If they could do it then, how much more can we do it now? And how much more ought we to do it, beloved? That is why we are here, and will be here again tonight and are here every Lord's day even as we said last week. We come in remembrance of the resurrection of Jesus. Let us remember, every Sunday, that we come here because He is gone up on high. We worship a heavenly Lord! " Source: http://www.prca.org/sermons/ld18.html Here's an other interpretation of psalm 24 from some site "We have a King in glory! The Lord Jesus was born King. He has an eternal Kingdom that shall soon come to this earth and He shall reign upon the Throne of David forever! Hallelujah! In this brief study, we are just going to look at a few verses pertaining to our Savior. The above Psalm 24 is called the Song of Ascension. When Jesus, Who being triumphant over death, after His resurrection, ascended into Heaven in a cloud of glory, the gates of Heaven burst open wide for the King of Glory! Christ Jesus won the victory-- He is the Lord strong and mighty in battle!" Answer me this: Would the king of Glory want us saddened about his transformation? |
You know what I should have asked you at first? Is it really considered a celebration or a notification but lets carry on that one celebrates a passing could be done out of necessity, or want. should a person celebrate a passing? Should a corpse only be buried? then what? nothing? anger? hurt? sadness? celebration? rejoicing? I'd like to think my otherpassing is noted in some way, when I otherpass because I ain't just a corpse (I ain't passing no time soon) hopefully the otherpassing is not marked by bitterness, but with celebration of the life it was(is). p.s. I used otherpass pun intended, It felt like I eulogized myself for a minute there lol. read up on Christ's ascension into heaven, I'm not an avid biblicist but meh(psalm 24, & 47 might work). maybe you don't signify the death(as we call it, well we know he ain't dead but yeah you get the point) of Christ as being celebrated, maybe you consider it something else, that's absolutely fine too. |
@4get_me Okay, I understand you now. @ God I prithee my Father, Elohi, that we do not transgress in our endeavours to unravel your mystery(even though we can't). |
Help me understand the true meanings of Mass Weight Gravity Acceleration Velocity Speed Force Work Torque Pressure Please? |
its times like these I wonder: Do we all speak of this same God? my Father? the only. |
That one chooses to celebrate/honor/make known a passing doesn't have to be bible based or pagan, there could be other factors as well. Don't bifurcate. |
@Thread Starter same stories, Naaaaaah(I feel you though, you can say that about some of 'em)! but the films are insanely predictable to the extent that it is almost disheartening. Someone posted about a film that'll make him/her cry, I'll ask that he/she check out Iru Esin(Horse's Tail) but it is in Yoruba - Umm I can't think of one in English that I can recommend sorrz. |
It always finds me in a good mood, I 've been awaiting your response & I commend you for the elaboration. Although I stated above as proclaimed that 'chemistry is the central science' it was in terms of modern utilization. I'll say the same thing I said with chemistry - "physics is also at the core of all other sciences," because the laws of physics like you said explains the existence of atoms - all these sciences attempt to help us understand our world. Here's my verdict: Its difficult to declare a "head" as you put it. Sciences build on each other - they intertwine Heck there are fields that combine the 3 major ones: Biophysics, Biochem, Physical Biochem, & Physical Chemistry I'll say that there's no denying the unquantifiable/colossal strength of physics. |
dittoChristianity is Christianity whether you see it as a religion and a relationship, and I see it as a blessing its the believe in (or encounter with) God that matters most. |
Do y'all watch this show on MTV? Thank goodness Romance went home, what a woman.(sorry ladies no harm meant). |
lol@the sarcasm A few months back when I was applying for a job, there was a blank space on the form requesting me to indicate my religion. So, I filled in "Christianity". My question is: have I committed a sin for filling that blank like that?I highly doubt it I wonder if they would have given me the job if I had put in "Relationship" instead of "Christianity". . . or better still they would have called an ambulance for me?I doubt you'd be persecuted for your action; it seems intangible. |
Oh, that's a non-issue @ your post, I understand you quite clearly, it still doesn't explain the phantom fouls up there. If you saw the Miami Heat game vs. Lakers on MLK day you'll see Kobe get hammered plenty times and the whistle-dogs failed to blow those whistles, yet wade lived on the line @ same game. I can show you a game against the cavs where kobe constantly gets hammered and doesn't receive calls, yet Bron Bron was getting his calls. Agree or disagree with the bias & favoritsm that occurs, Wade is one of the favorites - I suppose he has no worries. |

If a particular something is natural, does that mean it is God-given? Definitions haven't helped me maximize my knowledge on this, I'm hopeful somebody can clarify. Positive Example: talent at singing Assume I have a talent: is it natural, or God-given If it is natural: does that mean oh it just happens or oh its just there If it is God-given: God gave me that ability If I'm bounded by my religion, I feel obligated to praise God for giving me those abilities. However, if it is something negative: Someone born with an eccentric body part is that natural, or God-given -it can be biological, but lets rule that out & assume the parents are fine and aren't carriers) If it is natural: does that mean oh its just there(or I don't know how it happened) If it is God-given: does that mean thats how it is meant to be (is a deformed body-part a negative, or do we humans interpret it as negative) Natural disasters: Hurricanes for example -Considered negative when they kill Are those natural or God-given If natural: do they just happen(I know there are scientific explanations) If they're God-given - God has made it known that these things will happen How do we in turns explain the deaths that occur as a result of this hurricane(in terms of religion for example) - are the resulting accidents fate or drastic, or something else OR Are these things in general that we should not question In short: help me untangle my perhaps misinterpretation of the two(natural and God-given) |
@topic The quiescence of many(myself included) who lament christianity a religion can be attributed to conformity. Instead of derailing & duressing our enamored opinions/ideas We can also think of Christianity as a religion which helps us develop various relationships with God. In that sense, christianity is no more a religion than it is a relationship, an experience, a culture (or whatever else you may want to call it), the important conception is that you have brought(or found a way to bring) yourself to him(or closer to him). |
This is a reiteration of something I prophesied in my first post on this thread all it'll lead to is ignorant comments, hatred&bashing.confirmation: see thread Yoruba's days are over in educationPriceless. Conclusions are being drawn from irreputable proofs. /exits |
WADED thanks to David Stern's whistle-dogs. Imagine wade going to the free throw line 25 times in the finals. prophetic. I blame the loss on the back2back but I had fun watching even though losses aren't always enjoyable for me. yes, the Mavs have picked up where they left off last year, they're playing like a bunch of possessed men. |
