If y'all were able to watch the game tonight y'all would realize that the Great Kobe Bryant got Jobbed by the refs. It seems like David Stern and his whistle-dogs are on a mission to protect wade.

IMO Chemistry is the central science.

Read This
[b]Chemistry is an incredibly fascinating field of study. Because it is so fundamental to our world, chemistry plays a role in everyone's lives and touches almost every aspect of our existence in some way. Chemistry is essential for meeting our basic needs of food, clothing, shelter, health, energy, and clean air, water, and soil. Chemical technologies enrich our quality of life in numerous ways by providing new solutions to problems in health, materials, and energy usage. Thus, studying chemistry is useful in preparing us for the real world.

Chemistry is often referred to as the central science because it joins together physics and mathematics, biology and medicine, and the earth and environmental sciences. Knowledge of the nature of chemicals and chemical processes therefore provides insights into a variety of physical and biological phenomena. Knowing something about chemistry is worthwhile because it provides an excellent basis for understanding the physical universe we live in. For better or for worse, everything is chemical! [/b]

EducationRe: Akokites (unilag Students) Are Fake? by kobe(m): 6:22am On Jan 15, 2007
fake in terms of appearance/looks/appeal to others/deceit?

IME fake students exist everwhere whether it be back stabbers/ snitches/ people who bad-mouth( I don't know the proper term for them)/ Materialistic posses(the appearance artists)/[insert your text here].

So, I'd say 'Akokites are fake' is too hasty a generalization.

It is very unorthodox to make a list of what to expect/look for in a partner.

but these are traits i'd expect and admire in my partner

Trust & Truthfulness
Respect
Understandability
Maturity
and
Politeness

I call it the TRUMP factor. Simple yet difficult.
p.s. (its no double standard) she'll get these things in return as well.
EducationRe: Nigerian Education Is Low-Level by kobe(op): 5:53am On Jan 15, 2007
I enjoyed reading your well-rounded response and I agree with you whole-heartedly.  The statement about IQ is flawless.

This
You know that Nigerian students are disadvantaged because of inadequate/obsolete equipment, and lecturers who are not so supportive and up-to-date.
answered my question.

I almost always debate this subject with my colleagues but they're right after all.  I still nonetheless refuse to accept the bastardization of my nation as belonging to the '3rd world'

I agree with you that the shortage in available resource does put the Nigerian student at a disadvantage thus the
Western student who is exposed to a wealth of resource and is able to benefit from what's at his/her disposal - comes out ahead.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: David Beckham: I've Signed For Galaxy by kobe(op): 12:29am On Jan 13, 2007
you're right.
But how much impact will convince us that he's earned that money.
David Beckham:"I'm coming there to make a difference. I'm coming there to play football," Beckham said Friday via satellite from Madrid. "I'm not saying me coming to the States is going to make soccer the biggest sport in America. , But I think soccer has a huge, huge potential. I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't believe in this project. This could create something that we've all never seen before."

"Something we've all never seen before", like what David? David is still a very good player, I hope he can raise football's profile in America, but most importantly help Galaxy win.
TV/MoviesRe: Most Annoying Nigerian Actors/Actresses by kobe(m): 11:23pm On Jan 12, 2007
No surplus critcism from me, their acts clearly speak for themselves. but I'd like to point out that I tend to watch Nigerian movies to stay in touch with my culture and to learn. I enjoyed watching actors who wanted to act, not actors who wanted to please/appease to something peculiar.

Whatever happened to the days of Behind The Clouds, Palace, Living in bondage, Erin Keekee, Ajasco Family, Papy Luwe, Baba Sala, [you get the point: insert yours here].

I only wished the actors/actresses in the films(usually English) would keep it real, and stop the phony accents. Thats why I often stick to my Yoruba Movies.

I'd watch&prefer American films if I was feening for American phonetics.

I liked Usuofia in London. It was funny when one particular guy in the movie went back to his Nigerian accent. His name is Ben Okafor I'm told (FYI: I know thats how the script was written). It just shows that as time changes many Africans are becoming so naive and subservient, reproaching their roots and succumbing pompously to neocolonialism.

Lets keep in mind that the industry needs improvement. If they feel indulging in accents/[insert yours here] will help, so help them God.
/end rant
TV/MoviesRe: Please Recommend Some Good Nigerian Movies by kobe(m): 11:04pm On Jan 12, 2007
Face of Africa: While the movie is err okay, the title sucked.
Why deem a movie that somewhat portrays prostitution as the 'Face of Africa'.

Lets not join Western counterparts in denigrating our continent.

EducationRe: Ghana Speak Good English More Than Nigeria? by kobe(m): 11:35am On Jan 11, 2007
Adding on to my prior post.
I welcome your simplified english offer.

As a testament, Ima start writing just like this cuhz.  I always preferred slangs to Proper English.

but MY ADVICE!! Many reliable Corporations write in big words and you(the employees) are expected to fully understand the written material so I'll suggest you get used to it.
EducationRe: Ghana Speak Good English More Than Nigeria? by kobe(m): 11:25am On Jan 11, 2007
Just by the way, have you never heard of the SIMPLE ENGLISH campaign? If not
then I suggest you visit this site  http://www.badlanguage.net/?feed=rss2&p=324
and others freely available on google. Your posting though sounding impressive
with all the big words is not how to write English in this day and age.
Again not to demean your response. My post was clear and concise (IMO).  The words you refer to as 'big' are mere k-12 vocab. words. Have you never heard of interpretation using 'clues within the context'?
If "SIMPLE ENGLISH" does not tolerate free-style writing - I want no part of it.
In response to your question: No, I never knew English was sub-categorized into simple, hard, bent, straight, [insert your text here]. I do now, thanks to you.

My last sentence from my previous entry implied that the argument can go on forever. simple enough?
Writing usually allows us the freedom to express ourselves in unique & creative ways - or so I thought?
EducationRe: Are Men Smarter Than Women? by kobe(m): 10:44am On Jan 11, 2007
Are Men Smarter than Women?

Not if we hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights.

It evens out.  At Undergraduate schools, why are men the large majority in Engineering fields while women are more abundant in Nursing departments?
because we are endowed by our divine creator with varying unalienable talents.  Men are more gifted at distinct activities than women - vice versa.

I dare not eloquently dismiss your biased opinion, I'd  feel humbled if you can incorporate a brief summary/narrative of the thoughts that established your perspective. It just seems so shallow (unless of course you can present an incontrovertible evidence).

or is it excellent?
This Choice of Topic as a Discussion may offend some, if not many individuals

Can Nigerian students compete with students around the world(emphasis on U.S. & U.K.).

I'll break it down further: Can I expect similar levels of proficiency/intelligence from an Engineering student out of The University of Ibadan that I do from an Engineering student out of The University of California Los Angeles.
or am I making comparisons between oil & milk, or apples & oranges. "Ain't no point trying to mix?"
