“We looked at food for a family of six, that is about N9,000 in a day. For 30 days, that is about N270,000. Look at medical, N50,000 provided there will be no surgery or whatever. “For clothing, we looked at N20,000. For education, N50,000. I don’t know for those who tried to put their children in private school, they will not be able to cope with this amount. We also have sanitation of N10,000. “I think where we have another bulk of the money is transportation. This is because the workers stay in the fringes and because of the cost of PMS, that amounted to N110,000.
So minimum wage is the Government paying these men, not just for work done, but also for the wives they marry and the children they bear with said wives? Yikes! lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

Whats there to doubt? Different Kingdom? Gods kingdom?
@ Old Law of Moses is the national Constitution of God's nation of Israel which He constituted of the people of Israel in the Land of Canaan.
@ the Gospel is the national Constitution of the Kingdom of God which is a Kingdom not of this world that is of the Lost sheep of Israel

Both Kingdoms belong to God but are under different Covenants/Laws.

∆ So you are saying Abraham who came before the law has the spirit of prophecy which is different from the holy Spirit.
∆ But those with the holy Spirit can prophecy but their prophecy can't be call prophecy because the one who gave it to them is not the spirit of prophecy?
1. And it is for this reason that I dislike the use of this term "Spirit of prophecy" as a blanket statement. Yes, Abraham had a different spirit of prophecy than did the prophets of Old. Even the so-called prophets that lived in the land of Judah after the death of Jesus Christ, the one who is in fact the last prophet, also had a different spirit of prophecy than that which the Prophets of Old did. Did, you ever wonder why Paul never needed the warnings to that was given him by the many prophets who approached him on his way to Jerusalem? undecided

2. That depends on your meaning of Prophesy but the fact is, what Jesus Christ instead said of the Holy Spirit is that He would shew the followers that belong to Him of things to come, things that are of Him and those things that are of Jesus Christ are not of this earth and are of the Everlasting Kingdom of God, nothing else. undecided

‭John 13:28-29 NKJV‬....
‭Luke 8:2-3 NKJV‬...
The work of the Kingdom of God on earth needs the giving of men. I can perceive you are not really grounded in scriptures and you are making arguments not because you want to know the truth about this matter.
One thing i know is that God's work on earth would not suffer. Whoever wants to give to his work should and whoever doesn't want to can go ahead but God's blessing in giving to his Kingdom work on earth remains forever. Whatever we have is because God gave it to us and giving to the church to further God's Kingdom on earth is never a bad thing. My apologies to OP for derailing your thread
I doubt in this case that I am the one here who is not grounded in Scripture. grin

Again, this is what Jesus Christ, who Himself lived according to the Old Law of Moses, said to His followers whom He called to a different Kingdom and a different Law...
15 “If you love me, you will do what I command.
16 I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper[a] to be with you forever.
17 The Helper is the Spirit of truth. The people of the world cannot accept him, because they don’t see him or know him. But you know him. He lives with you, and he will be in you.
[b]18
“I will not leave you all alone like orphans. I will come back to you.
19 In a very short time the people in the world will not see me anymore. But you will see me. You will live because I live.
20 On that day you will know that I am in the Father. You will know that you are in me and I am in you.
21 Those who really love me are the ones who not only know my commands but also obey them. My Father will love such people, and I will love them. I will make myself known to them.”
22 Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “Lord, how will you make yourself known to us, but not to the world?”
23 Jesus answered, “All who love me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them. My Father and I will come to them and live with them.
24 But anyone who does not love me does not obey my teaching. This teaching that you hear is not really mine. It is from my Father who sent me. - John 14 vs 15 - 24
Where, in all of the Gospels, did Jesus Christ ask/command/instruct you to use His name to collect money on behalf of what you call Kingdom work? undecided

This here is instead what Jesus Christ said of those who would use His name to collect from the sheep.
7 So Jesus said again, “I assure you, I am the gate for the sheep.
8 All those who came before me were thieves and robbers. The sheep did not listen to them.
9 I am the gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved. They will be able to come in and go out. They will find everything they need. 10 A thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But I came to give life—life that is full and good.
11 “I am the good shepherd, and the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep.
12 The worker who is paid to keep the sheep is different from the shepherd. The paid worker does not own the sheep. So when he sees a wolf coming, he runs away and leaves the sheep alone. Then the wolf attacks the sheep and scatters them.
13 The man runs away because he is only a paid worker. He does not really care for the sheep. - John 10 vs 7 - 13
A worker is paid by the good shepherd Himself, but a thief comes to steal from the sheep, to kill the fat of the sheep and destroy the flock of God. undecided

So, you are better off showing me where Jesus Christ instead commands you to have a treasury like the one you described there. grin

■ If this is not prophesy, what is prophesy in your opinion?
What you are pretty much asking is what the difference is between the "Spirit of Prophesy" which is believed to have been placed by God on those whom He chose as Prophets/messengers whom He then sent out on behalf of the people of Israel(not your churchian idea of prophets), and the Spirit of Truth whom Jesus Christ promised to ask His Father to send to every one of those who are loved by Him? The best approach would be to investigate what the Law says of each one of them then. Are you willing to search through the Law of Moses at least for details regarding the "spirit of Prophecy"? Or is it that you wish for me to do all of the work for you? undecided

sholay2011:
■ What are you saying?
Acts 11:27-28: 27 And in these days prophets came from Jerusalem to Antioch. 28 Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine throughout all the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar.
Acts 21:10-11: 10 And as we stayed many days, a certain prophet named Agabus came down from Judea. 11 When he had come to us, he took Paul’s belt, bound his own hands and feet, and said, “Thus says the Holy Spirit, ‘So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man who owns this belt, and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’ ”
Agabus was a prophet.
The four daughters of Philip for example, had the gift of prophecy.
What most people who claim to believe don't realize is that God's original plan had been to speak directly to the people of Israel Himself. But the people, too afraid, demanded that Moses speak to them on behalf of God instead.
18 During all this time, the people in the valley heard the thundering and saw the lightning on the mountain. They saw smoke rising from the mountain and heard the sound of the trumpet. They were afraid and shook with fear. They stood away from the mountain and watched.
19 Then the people said to Moses, “If you want to speak to us, then we will listen. But please don’t let God speak to us. If this happens, we will die.”
20 Then Moses said to them, “Don’t be afraid! God has come to test you. He wants you to respect him so that you will not sin.”
21 The people stood far away from the mountain while Moses went to the dark cloud where God was.
22 Then the Lord told Moses to say this to the Israelites: “You people have seen that I talked with you from heaven. - Exodus 20 vs 18 - 22
It is for this reason that God of Israel, YHWH, set up His system of Prophets.

1. The God of Israel, YHWH, is the one who instituted the Prophet's system as part of His Old Law of Moses
The Lord heard this.
3 (Moses was a very humble man. He was more humble than any other man on earth.)
4 So suddenly, the Lord came and spoke to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. He said, “You three, come to the Meeting Tent, now!”
So Moses, Aaron, and Miriam went to the Tent.
5 The Lord came down in the tall cloud and stood at the entrance to the Tent. He called out, “Aaron and Miriam!” They went to him.
6 God said, “Listen to me! You will have prophets. I, the Lord, will let them learn about me through visions. I will speak to them in dreams. - Numbers 12 vs 1 -6
2. The same God of Israel announced through Daniel that before the end of Last Days — the conclusion of His Judgment against the Nation of Israel(and Judah), He would bring to an end the time of the Prophets and visions.
24 “God has allowed 70 weeks for your people and your holy city, Daniel. The 70 weeks are ordered for these reasons: to stop doing bad things, to stop sinning, to make people pure, to bring the goodness that continues forever, to put a seal on visions and prophets , and to dedicate a very holy place. - Daniel 9 vs 24
3. The same God of Israel, YHWH, announced through the prophet Joel that before the end of the Last Days, He would pour out His Spirit on all young men and women in the land of Zion.
28 “After this, I will pour out my Spirit on all kinds of people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will have dreams, and your young men will see visions.
29 In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on servants, both men and women.
30 I will work wonders in the sky and on the earth. There will be blood, fire, and thick smoke.
31 The sun will be changed into darkness, and the moon will be as red as blood. Then the great and fearful day of the Lord will come!
32 And everyone who trusts in the Lord will be saved. There will be survivors on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, just as the Lord said. Yes, those left alive will be the ones the Lord has called. - Joel 2 vs 28 - 32

Jesus Christ was the last prophet sent by God to the people of Israel as this is noted both in the parable spoken by Jesus Christ Himself. John the Baptist was the last of the Old Covenant prophets sent by the God of Israel. Jesus Christ confirmed this Himself. All the other prophets that came after those two are a result of God pouring out His Spirit on all of the daughters and sons of Zion in the land during the same generation that the disciples lived in. This all took place about 1900 years ago. undecided

Paul was aware of this. He knew that the prophets in the land during the last days were not, in fact, prophets like the old — sent by God to the people of Israel. The "Prophets" in the land at the time were not messengers of God like the Old Prophets. They were not holy and righteous men like the Old Prophets that God had previously sent to His people in His Name; these "prophets" at the time were sinners many of whom were due to be cursed by God for their refusal to obey His Law. God didn't send them to any man or woman in the land of Israel. Neither were they to deliver messages to anyone using His name. The "Prophets" in the land at the time were rather a result of God opening up the fountain of communication so He could directly communicate with everyone in the land before His final judgment was pronounced upon them. It is for that reason that Paul refused to heed their warnings, and chose instead to do that which was before Him. undecided

The Kingdom of God does not need your money at all. Jesus Christ, the King in the Kingdom of God, pretty much hinted at this when He informed you that you would have to sell everything you have and own and give it all away to the poor if you wish to become worthy of Him. 😁

■ Well let me just make it brief. The new testament was documented in Greek. That's the manuscript alright. The names christ followers are called comes from the he Greek word Χριστιανός (Christianos), meaning "follower of Christ", comes from Χριστός (Christos), meaning "anointed one",
It doesn't matter what they were called by others. What matters is instead what name they agreed upon or were given by their ruler. And If you read through the Gospels, none of what you wrote applies. undecided
