Islam › Sallah During Worst Recession In 29 Years by kodded(op): 6:57pm On Sep 12, 2016
This year's Eid Kabir celebration comes in the midst of Nigeria's worst economic recession in twenty-nine years. m uslims all around the world are celebrating Eid Kabir, a symbolic remembrance of how Allah spared the life of Isiak and asked that a ram be sacrificed instead. However, this year’s celebration in Nigeria came in the midst of Nigeria's worst economic recession in twenty-nine years . SaharaReporters asked the views of some residents on Lagos Island about the ways in which the recession has affected the Sallah celebration. From the dryness of the streets to the lean sacrificial animals tied to poles, it was easy to see that the effects of the recession had already been felt on Lagos Island. Many families who had never missed out on the symbolic killing could not participate in this year’s ceremony because the price of ram had skyrocketed. The few who could afford to participate were forced to cut their “costs according to their size,” Alhaji Aremu Oshisanya, told SaharaReporters. Mr. Oshisanya added that in past years, he had killed three to four rams, but he could afford two this year. “The situation in the country is terrible. I thank Allah for myself because at least I am able to kill rams. I used to kill two or three but the situation is tight now and I have other responsibilities. My children will resume school very soon and I will have to pay for books and the rest of the things they will need,” he said. Ustadz Isiak Muhammadul Jamiu opined that the frail appearance of the animals is due to the present economic

Politics › Edo People Eager To ‘change The Change’ – Ex-apc Leader by kodded(op): 6:46pm On Sep 12, 2016
One of the founding members of the All Progressives
Congress, APC, Chief Tom Ikimi has said the People’s
Democratic Party, PDP, will win the Edo governorship election
resoundingly.
Ikimi, a member of the PDP Board of Trustees spoke
yesterday while addressing newsmen in Benin, the state
capital.
In his reaction to the new date fixed for the elections, he said
the postponement will ensure the people who were already
eager to “change the change” do so en masse.
His words: “There is nothing to fear. The security is good
everywhere. The leadership of our party is equal to the task
and we shall win these elections resoundingly. The level of
winning will be such that APC will not be able to contest the
victory”.
“We are now at the threshold of the election. We brought
Oshiomhole seven and a half years ago and we are now
determined that Oshiomhole should give way for Pastor
Osagie Ize-Iyamu as successor.”

onatisi:
Nigerians are the easiest people on this earth to fool. So u really believed that china will swap their currency for our naira, abihuh
The problem with Nigerians is that they believe everything their leaders tell them.
The china trip was basically for loan and he got it but they know they has to tell Nigerians something to make them dance on the streets and hail the dullard so they cooked up the story of currency swap. I remember some few intelligent people raised this points then that the bank of china never said anything about any dumb currency swap,Nigerians no dey listen. No wonder a person like buhari is their president

Are u going to drink the oyel?? Is it not the same companies u are attacking u will beg to come and explore, refine and sellhuh Think rationally and shun this ridiculousness. And btw after blowing up your oil, who will suffer the most? Nigeria has survived without oil b4 and we will do it again. But what of ur environment, livelihood, poverty etc. Shey u will beg the same FG to come help u
so why are you guys crying when you guys can still survive without the oyel ?

lol when did you care for our environment ?

our land was baf for some time now but you didnt care about our land

after all lagos state produces oil not so ?

well this is getting out of hand
the army seems quite over this, so too are the oil companies, no one is confirming this attacks, undecided
If we want regional let PDP the south dominate initiate it in the national assembly the let's see who will reget it
I foresee a situation were the northern region will tax the food send to the southern region to get revenue, the south south taxing goods imported through her ports
They best placed are the West, the have access to the ocean and very good land for farming
The south East my people will be at the disadvantage, they will lose trillions of investments outside the south East and we don't have enough land to farm, even our oil and gas will be taxed by the south south if it is to pass through there lands for export (that's the real reason we want south south in Biafra, not for oil but for access to the see)
The best option remains sticking together

As for this unscrupulous elements called the avengers, there is no excuse for taking up arms against the supreme authority and sooner or later u will face the law... Boko haram did worse, we're are they now??
another yoruba man thinking south west is the only region with access to the outside world through the ocean

The same people cheering them on for blowing up the gas pipelines will be the first to call fashola minister of darkness as if he will generate electricity with his fart. We will all suffer the consequences of this economic sabotage while buhari and other elites continue to live in luxury. Shey na ordinary tomatoes una still dey complain about, wait till a sachet of pure water turns 50 Naira then you will realize the impact of this economic sabotage on you and your family. If not for the cluelessness of our security forces who are only good in harassing innocent citizens, the Avengers ought to have been fished out using technology. Their Facebook, Twitter and website can be tracked but this is Nigeria where anything goes

All I know is that everything will work out for Nigeria's good. Let them keep bombing, niger delta will soon become irrelevant. Nigeria will eventually move away from oil

But let me just say this, this NDA is running the script of foreign enemies. This is no longer about improving the lot of niger delta. We are in a period where countries are fighting to sell oil, so by reducing our production they increase theirs. Am suspecting iran
tell buhari to yield to their demand and give us back our oyel

I expect to see my brothers dancing here. The idiots hailing these terrorists have even managed to console themselves that "as long as they are not killing people then they are fighting a good cause" I mean How will YOU eat when they finally achieve their aim of crippling the country? Do you now see how irredeemably Godforsakenly dumb you are? The only followers they can gain are people who never like Buhari and who wish him evil just because he won their hero/brother. For crying out loud even the king of ogoni land admited GEJ failed them. The Fulani herder is the very one implementing something that was ready for approval since forever, The same man who made sure that he didn't sign the 2016 budget until the Lagos-Calabar rail project was included, something our so-called reps and senators didn't give a hoot about! Are these not things that benefit the common ND man and Nigeria at large? What do you want to do with govt appointments? Are you lobbying for posts for yourself or your family member? What else you do bloody baboonistic species want? Buhari's headhuhhuh?? The so-called brother who was at the helm of affairs for over 5 solid years did absolutely nothing. What did he do for the area apart from making a few militants and elites billionaires who didn't even see fit to donate a tap to their communitieshuh?? Yet some irredeemable foolish imbecilic dumb battalion ingrediential buffoonish nincompoops are still here allowing the devil use them to cause mass sufferings. "Not killing people" my round asss!
The way I'm seeing my people hailing terrorists I'm even beginning to think that we are much wicked and violent than the North because I don't remember Northerners coming out en masse to support BH or the herdsmen killings the way my people are all over the place cheering these guys on as if they themselves are not suffering. I mean what kind of hate will make you choose to die of hunger than allow someone who is not your brother feed you? Even the devil must be shuddering in hell right now! The comments whenever there's news of bombings and likes on such comments make me throw up. Like seriously are we cursed I'm seriously ashamed of telling people I'm from South South now. What a shame and I'm really not very proud of telling people I'm from this region at the moment. Just too embarrassing!

Donjazzy12:
First off, Niger Delta Avengers is a creation of Tompolo tacitly supported by Jonathan. The whole idea is to force Buhari to come to the negotiation table and FG to abandon the legitimate case of graft it has against them.
PROS: If Buhari succumbs to this blackmail, the fight against corruption dies a natural death, militants becomes policy makers etc.Pipelines are safe.
CONS: If he fails to succumb, bombing of pipelines continue.
In a nutshell, this is what he must do.
1, Declare state of emergency in the affected LGA's. Push 80% of our Naval assets and some Helicopter gunships there. 2, Borrow from China to run budget for two years. 3, Never acknowledge or ever grant further amnesty to them. 4 Make an announcement anyone who habors Tompolo or any Avenger will have their houses demolished.
Watch as the idiotic militancy dies down in less than a year.
