You might not like Trump but he isn't totally wrong here. America has a trade deficit in the auto industry with Canada and Europe. More cars come in from Canada to America. The trade deficit is much. Cars worth over 290bn dollars are shipped into the US while cars worth over 140bn dollars are shipped out of the US. That's what Trump is trying to balance. Being out of status is not the same as illegal immigration. Entering the US illegally is not the same as over staying your visa. One has records, the other has none.

A person that overstayed a visa has a pathway to citizenship, person without any arrival record and no entry visa at all has no pathway to citizenship and there are millions of them in the USA that ought to be deported.

USA doesn't issue more than 2years visa for a first timer and you are not suppose to spend more than 6months living in usa with that visa, you can go and revisit because it is usually multiple entry visa. Apparently she has spent about 7 years on a 2years visa and that makes her an illegal residence of the country.

Illegal immigrants are those who walked across the border without any recorded documentation of identity or entry records.
