Yomieluv: My fiance called me on thursday that she's converting to a moslem.
Actually, she was a muslim, but when the mum was going through financial difficulties while growing up,she and her brother went to stay at her uncle's place, who happens to practice christian, which made her practice the family's religion.
She has gone back this year to her mum's place, because her place of industrial attachment is very close to her mum's place.
I thought she was joking, till she came to my side yesterday, and observed her prayer the muslim way.
I haven't made any comment,or taken any decision on that, but my fear is that
1. This is a lady I want t get married to in few months' time.
2. I practise christianity, and I know the importance of uniformity of religion to married couple, and children.
3. I have been worried since,am I over reacting to it?
4. Has anybody been in this situation before, whereby hubby, and wife practise different religion?
5. Should I be worried,or I insist on her to practice christianity?
I need contribution, and advice on how to handle the difference in religion,if eventually we get married.
CC: lalasticlala. WELL usually she may have someone who want to marry her and just playing u. she knows u wont accept it and she will use that has an excuse to break up. so to find out, confront her,and see what will happen. tell her she cant do that to you. girls are not to be trusted. nb it is not that good for couple to have separate religion. u already divided your would children . |

chukwudi44: It appears that even with the heavy defeat suffered by the SW local champion Tinubu,He has not learnt his lessons rather he wants to fight dirty by throwing up irrelevant stories about the Hon Senate president Bukola Saraki. The way it is any ministerial candidate presented by Tinubu to Buhari is also going to face the same fate suffered by Gbajabiamilla and Lawan.I would like to advice eminent SW APC politicians like Fashola and the gentle Fayemi to stay far away from him if they want to ever have a chance at working at PMB's cabinet.
Saraki and Dogara with their positions and the numerical superiority of their supporters would never allow any of his candidates to make it pass the NASS screening.

I work in a bank and I know a good bank won't terminate a performer just like that unless you are not telling us the full story. Do you have a DC case? He should find out if he is profitable. There are different between getting good grade as a branch manager and profitability. Bank managers are majorly being appraised based on their profitability. Branch as one entity and employee performance. In my bank,u must get in line between the two and the bigger clog in forging ahead is attitude- maybe one way or the other mystery shoppers have set u up and found u incapable of doing things their own ways. Bank is one funny place to work with.there is no clear cut of how one is reasonably being appraised. If union bank is not profitable, they may lay off their staff. Tho ur case as u stated it sounds so unbelievable. But if u get around there might be mix up somewhere. Maybe its not ur appraisal, maybe u mistaken for someone else maybe some sees u as over ambitious or something- there gat to be something bro-look deep,u did something bad I guess. |

BREAKING TIMES has exclusively obtained the letter, which was signed by the APC National Chairman, John Odigie Oyegun.
A similar letter obtained by BREAKING TIMES was sent to the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Fighting broke in the chambers of the House of Representatives Thursday over the Speaker’s refusal to implement the directives of the APC leadership.

Buhari has no choice but to work peacefully with the senate leadership if he wishes to accomplish anything meaningful. Once committees are set up ,all other senators opposing saraki will fall into line . In politics it is all about interest and not sentiments or emotions. you have no idea . tinubu n oyegun n apc party has more upper hand than Saraki. He is just forging alliance that Will not last. Politics › Re: A Better Alternative To N5,000 Monthly Allowance For Unemployed Nigerians by koladebrainiac(m): 4:54pm On Jun 16, 2015 |
greggles: If the Federal Government intends paying the poorest unemployed Nigerians N5,000 monthly, my personal estimate is that it will be budgetting for about 20 million Nigerians, amounting to about N100 billion naira monthly.
I completely disagree with this policy. It is my belief that paying N5,000 monthly to millions of unemployed persons would amount to a waste of government resources in the short and long term.
N5,000 monthly makes absolutely no sense to our economy of today. It cannot even sustain a Nigerian youth who is even under the roof of someone else, for a month based on today's cost of living.
My Suggestion:
Government should rather invest this money into the economy in a way that will create a job for a youth and pay him up to 30,000 to N50,000 monthly. How?
Let's do some analysis here:
N100 billion naira can fund up to 10,000 businesses monthly with about N10 million naira each, who will employ about 10 people each, thereby creating up to 100,000 or 150,000 jobs monthly. This makes it possible for most Nigerian graduates to focus on starting their personal businesses and creating Full Time and Part Time jobs, instead of endlessly looking for jobs themselves. This also ensures that beneficiaries of this project get to pay tax to government, thereby increasing government's internally generated revenue. How much would you tax someone who earns N5,000 monthly when you can invest in a business that pays that person up to N50,000 monthly and then tax them?
Security For The money
In order for graduates to benefit from the business empowerment project, government needs some form of security, and they already have it, Yes, the Bank Verification Number (BVN). This ensures that your identity is known and you don't run to another bank and deposit the money to enjoy a personal life rather than use it for what it was meant for.
Just like the Social Security Number is used to track everything you do in the US, our Government, with time and policy implemenation, would be able to use our National Identity Number to quickly create a central identification system where your identity is tied to your Bank accounts and everything you do including renting a house, getting a job, doing business, contesting public office, obtaining an international passport, enrolling in college etc. Usually when you want to do any of the above mentioned, a background check is conducted with your ID Number to check your financial history as well as any violation or criminal history because all these records are usually domiciled with security agencies.
What Are The Benefits of This Project?
1. With this business empowerment programme, government will be able to stimulate and grow the economy through the private sector, this means, more employment generation through private sector businesses than directly by government
2. Government will be able to fulfill its promise to Nigerians to create millions of jobs annually
3. Government would be able to greatly boost its internally Generated Revenue through taxes both from businesses and employed persons
4. More businesses in Nigeria will survive because when more people have purchasing power, businesses can thrive and more will spring up
5. Boost Technology and Agriculture. When more businesses in Agric and Technology are empowered, then other sectors in Nigeria will grow because e-commerce will become a vital part of our development while agriculture will feed the nation and encourage export
6. Resourceful Education. When this policy is started, our Higher Institutions would be able to adjust their curricula to include practical ways of turning your course into a resourceful business venture, including how to develop a good business plan for your intending business Organizations like SMEDAN who offer entrepreneurship courses will also follow suite and might offer certification courses which may be used as a requirement for benefitting from this project.
This Money Should Not Be A Grant
Yes, The money should be a Repayable Non-Interest Ioan. Only serious people who believe they can succeed should be given this money. We have people who are born entrepreneurs, they are not suited for the 9 to 5pm schedules, all they need is education and application of business principles to succeed and create employment for others. We also have confident entrepreneurs who believe they will succeed even with an interest loan from a bank, but unfortunately they do not have collateral, they are the very ones at the top list of who deserve this funding.
This to me would discourage emphasis on Higher Education Certificate for job hunting, and encourage Resourceful Education which is good for our economic development
God Bless us all.
#TeamGreggles, Say Yeah!
Share Your Opinion. Thanks BUT It is obtainable everywhere ... uk do that... my take is that.. the program can be sef sustaining .. i expect the federal government to ensure that the money for this would be realized back when the unemployed graduate later get job. i.e workers will remit some money into fg act.like a tax. infact it can be from every labour in nigeria- tax should be set aside to take care of this |
