Use other apps in Messenger for sending stuff like GIFs. Apps like Giphy and ESPN integrate directly into Messenger. This means you can use Giphy to quickly share a GIF or share sports memes and highlights from ESPN. To see a list of all the apps you have access to, tap the three dots — in the bottom right corner — in a message thread. Use Messenger from Facebook's web app. Did you know that Facebook Messenger has a web app for the desktop? Just log in to Messenger.com . Mute a conversation. If you'd rather not be annoyed by notifications from a message thread, you can mute the conversation without leaving it. Just tap the name of the person or group you're messaging at the top of the screen and then tap "Notifications." You'll be able to mute the thread for a certain amount of time or indefinitely.

Make voice and video calls for free over the internet Messenger isn't just for sending text. The app supports voice and video calls over the internet, which means you don't need a traditional phone plan to speak to someone or have a video chat with them. To call someone who has the Messenger app installed on their phone, tap the video or phone icon in the top right of the message window next to their name. Send Money to Others Facebook lets you transfer money from your bank account to anyone on Messenger. It's easy to set up: 1. Tap the little icon with three dots next to the thumb icon and then "Payments." 2. Enter the amount you want to send. 3. Add your Visa or MasterCard debit card. Each transaction can take up to a few business days to send depending on your bank, but Facebook doesn't charge any fee for providing the service. You can also add or manage your debit cards in the Messenger app under "Payments" in the settings tab. Talk to Brands Facebook has partnered with several retailers as well as Zendesk, a customer-service platform, to let you talk with companies like you would in a normal message thread. When you buy something from Everlane, for example, and have your Facebook account tied into the order, your order details get sent to you in Messenger. You can request shipping status updates and get customer support directly in the app. Facebook is starting to integrate more businesses into Messenger, but for now, this experience only works With Everlane and Zulily for retail. Share Your Location When you're in a conversation, tap the three-dots button in the bottom right corner and then tap "Location." You can choose to share your current location or a pin somewhere else on a map. Source : Tech Insider

There are more than 13,000 yellow cabs buzzing through the streets of New York City and a lot more all round the world. They pick up businesspeople as they scramble to work and rescue fall-down drunks trying to get back to Brooklyn. While it may be hard to imagine a time when the city wasn't one big bright-yellow blur, these cabs haven't always been a mainstay. Somebody had to make them yellow, and that man was John Hertz. In 1915, Hertz — the Chicago mastermind behind Hertz Rent-a-Car — founded the Yellow Cab Company. He had read a study from the University of Chicago that said yellow with a tint of red was the most visible color viewed from a distance (Whether that's actually true is another issue, as scientists have found our eyes actually tend to be most adept at picking up shades of green). Hertz's insights stuck. "It became an industry trend," Allan Fromberg, the chief spokesman for the Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC), told the New York Times in 2006. That trend "was continued when he and his partner, Walden Shaw, branched out to other cities, including New York City." Cities such as Denver, Los Angeles, and Dallas have all adopted the system in some capacity. Yellow cabs don't stand alone, however, even in New York City. In 2011, Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced the Five Borough Taxi Plan. In addition to the yellow cabs hurtling through Manhattan, apple-green "boro" taxis now pick up people exclusively in the outer boroughs of Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, and the Bronx. They can also be hailed in Manhattan, but only above East 96th St. and West 110th St. If neither a green or yellow cab suits you, an all-black livery cab — whose fare you will negotiate with the driver through gritted teeth — is also an option. Just make sure you take Jerry Seinfeld's advice and buckle source : business insider

A strange creature that washed up in the aftermath of the Japanese tsunami has gone and people don't don't know what it is. The photos shows a huge white whale-like creature washed up among debris left behind after the flood. I think it's that animal Avatar uses for transportation. Can you identify it? cc lalasticlala

#5) Zack And Miri Make A
Indecency The great thing about this poster is how safe for work it is. In fact, I’ll come right and say it was BS this got banned. Anyone who shouldn’t know what’s going on in this poster, isn’t going to know what’s going on, and anyone who can figure out what’s happening is old enough to not be scarred by the implication of MouthAction. Besides, there’s exactly the right level of head here in which a casual glance might not even register what’s going on. I love it. And that pun WAS intended. #6) Sin City 2 It was a little bit silly to ban this poster, especially considering the fix was just to turn down the volume on the see-through nipple action a little bit, but that’s just where we’re at in America. Regardless, I think we can all admit what’s happening here, nipple or not, is pretty hot. Something tells me that’s exactly what the marketing team was going for. Well, that and perhaps a little bit of controversy. Nothing gathers a crowd quicker than the phrase "excessive nudity". #7) The People Vs Larry Flynt If nothing else, this poster should make everyone fall in love with Woody Harrelson. That dude goes for it. There’s almost no situation you could put him in where he would be unwilling to put it all on the line for the character. He’s awesome in The People vs Larry Flynt, and he’s damn good in this poster as a scantily clad anti-hero who spends his days wrapped in the American flag and getting up close and personal with mystery vaginas. # TeethI get why the MPAA thought children would be confused and uncomfortable with this anatomically bizarre Teeth poster, but the great thing about it is how clearly it lets fans know whether or not they can handle the movie. If you can look at that poster and think, "Yeah, I want to go on this journey", then you’re going to have a great time. If you like at it and can’t stop thinking about how terrifying those vaginal teeth are, then it’s best to stay away. Source: Cinema Blend

#1) Rules Of Attraction You don’t need severed fingers to cause a scene. You don’t need nipples either. Instead, as this poster proves, you only need a willingness to go shocking places others won’t. In this case, that’s done by taking some loveable stuffed animals and dropping them in as many sexually graphic positions as possible. It’s knee-jerk funny, incredibly sophomoric and completely perfect for the movie it’s advertising. That’s why this Rules Of Attraction artwork is the greatest banned movie poster ever. #2) Ali G Indahouse This poster is utterly tasteless. It’s the type of thing a middle school boy would fantasize about. It’s cleverly edited in such a way that it’s not graphic, but its implication is somehow even dirtier. It’s like she’s being used for his own benefit. Thus, it’s perfect for the Ali G Movie, which is all about one douche bag’s dream of doing douche bag things. Obviously, Sasha Baron Cohen would go on to do bigger and more successful things, but thankfully, he didn’t lose his ability to offend. #3) Shame No one wants to look at semen. I realize there are all sorts of people into some weird shit, but I’m not even sure looking at ejaculated semen is a fetish anyone has. It’s creepy, weird, uncomfortable and in no way appropriate for children. That being said, I love the creativity here. These people probably thought, since it was under the table graphic, that they could get away with it. No dice. You can use pretty much any font you want to write Shame. Times New Roman. Even Comic Sans. But ejaculate just doesn’t work, probably since it's not a real font. #4) Saw II There are a ton of gross-out horror posters, and most of them don’t impress me. I’m just not a huge fan of slapping gross crap on some marketing material and trying to ruin everyone’s afternoons. This Saw 2 poster, however, has some art to it. The severed fingers are used in a clever way, and it’s not knee-jerk terrifying. It’s only gross when you examine it closely and realize the digits aren’t protruding out of the snow. They’ve been full-on chopped off, probably by Jigsaw. Or former MPAA head Jack Valenti.

Traditions and circumstances can sometimes lead to one-of-a-kind occupations in different countries. We sifted through a Quora thread to find jobs that are unique to individual countries. As varied as ostrich baby sitters in South Africa and bike dredgers in the Netherlands, here are 11 jobs that are shaped by their countries of origin. ENGLAND: Swan uppers The English counties of Middlesex, Surrey, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, and Oxfordshire have a tradition called swan upping in which people count the number of swans. The people who do this — swan uppers — report on the number of swans accounted for and note whether any of the swans have injuries. BOLIVIA: Traffic zebras In La Paz, Bolivia, people are paid by the city to dress in zebra suits and help enforce traffic laws while assisting pedestrians to cross the road. Thanks to their costumes, the traffic zebras are able to get the attention of cars and buses quickly, and their entertaining nature has helped to get more people to follow traffic directions. IRAN: License-plate blockers In Tehran, Iran, thanks to the restrictions placed on how many cars can be on the road during a day, certain drivers will hire people to walk behind their car plates to keep them concealed. THE NETHERLANDS: Bike dredger In Amsterdam, traveling by bike is common. But because many bikes end up in the water throughout the year, professional bike dredgers use hydraulic claws to pull around 15,000 bicycles out of the water each year. INDIA: Dabbawalla Most commonly found in the city of Mumbai, dabbawalla are deliverymen who deliver hot lunches to people across the city. They collect the home-cooked meals from people's residences all over the city (including the somewhat distant suburbs) and deliver them to the appropriate people in their workplace. JAPAN: Oshiya (train pushers) In cities like Tokyo, train operators employ oshiya, or pushers, to literally push people onto crowded trains. Their role is to make sure to get everyone gets inside the train without getting caught in the doors. THE VATICAN: Swiss guards The Swiss Guard is responsible for the pope's safety and acts as the security force for the Apostolic Palace and Vatican City. Its members can typically be seen outside the Vatican on a daily basis in their striped blue, red, and gold uniforms. These guards are required to be Catholic, male, at least 5 feet 9 inches tall, and to have served at least two years in the Swiss military service. MOROCCO: Water sellers In popular tourist areas of Morocco, colorfully clad water sellers in elaborate traditional costumes and tasseled hats provide water from camel-leather bags and copper cups. Their costumes are often adorned with brasses and bells. CHILE: Café con piernas (Coffee with legs) Café con piernas, which translates to "coffee with legs," refers to coffee shops in Santiago, Chile, that operate with bar maidens who serve classic coffee in revealing clothing. Waitresses in some locations wear more scandalous outfits than others. SOUTH AFRICA: Ostrich baby sitters In South Africa, there's a job for watching over ostriches. These ostrich baby sitters make sure the ostriches don't peck at one another too much. ENGLAND: Ravenmasters Ravens have been at England's Tower of London for years, and their presence is believed to protect the Crown and Tower, which is why a Ravenmaster is in charge of caring after the birds and ensuring that they don't fly away. Michael Cera and Hafthór Júlíus Björnsson - Born 1988 Michael Cera looks like he's about 12, while and Hafthór Björnsson looks like he's lived HARD. I mean, you don't play a character named "The Mountain" if you don't look like you've been through some sh*t. All I care about is seeing these two battle in front of Daenerys on the next season of Game of Thrones, although it would be sad to see Cera's head smashed like a grape. But as they say, All Men Must Die, even ones that still look like boys. Which celebrity pair was the most shocking?
Martin Freeman and Jared Leto - Born 1971 Martin Freeman looks all distinguished, while Jared Leto looks like a Pabst Blue Ribbon-drinking, record-playing Jesus. Surely someone in their 40s couldn't be that much of a hipster, could they? But it's true. I can't wait to see Leto in his 60s playing ukulele on a unicycle in Brooklyn on his way to get a hemp milk latte.
Adele and Vanessa Hudgens - Born 1988 Adele just seems like she'd have to be at least 60 to be find such a mature way to express how love feels in your 20s, which you'll find out one day is the most ridiculously misguided period of love in your life. Vanessa Hudgens, though, has that high school thing going on, no matter how many times her nudes accidentally leak. I mean, what could be more juvenile than that?
Idris Elba and John Cho - Born 1972 Jon Cho looks like he's barely out of his teens, while Idris Elba looks like, well, I don't know if I can say what he looks like to me on a site that isn't x-rated. How about really, really yummy and like a man old enough to know what he's doing? Is that tame enough?
Chris Evans and Elijah Wood - Born 1981 Elijah Wood definitely seems forever 14, while Chris Evans is a total macho man. C'mon, he's Captain America! Maybe Elijah should grow a beard? (Although, facial hair did nothing to make Bieber look more butch, so who knows.)
Beyonce and Britney Spears - Born 1981 Poor Brit Brit. She's been around so long it feels like she's 100, and on top of that, she doesn't GAF about looking perfect all the time (which is actually kind of bad-ass). Of course, Beyonce has to be all friggin' flawless all the time ... until we see an unretouched pic. Then we're like "phew, she's only flawless 99% of the time".
Tom Hiddleston and Joseph Gordon Levitt - Born 1981 I guess playing an iconic villain like Loki just gives the impression that you're older than you are, especially compared to the boyish Joseph Gordon Levitt. He'll probably look 22 in his 50s, which isn't a good thing really. Meanwhile, Tom Hiddleston already has the authority to make us his mewling quim.
Lorde and Zendaya - Born 1996 Why is it that Lorde just seems so much older than she is? Talk about an old soul. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Disney stars seem eternally young ... until they start twerking, posing in Maxim Magazine and getting DUIs, that is. Then they seem busted as hell.
It can be hard to tell how old celebrities are — depending on how long they've been around, they can seem either much older or much younger than they actually are. It's especially bizarre when you find out two very different celebrities are actually the same age. Some celebrities clearly do everything they can to stay young forever, while some take more of a IDGAF approach. Here are eight pairs of celebrities that are strangely enough the same age!
