I wasn't under strict timelines at the time I sent them so I used post office for them all.
Thanks for your response, please permit me to ask how much stamp I would be posting on each. Sorry about asking so many questions.

About application fee payment, Visa from Zenith (both from the Cash Domiciliary account and Buxz) sufficed for most schools but for the schools on the Applyweb network (MIT, Stanford, Princeton, ETH Zurich etc), the Visa cards did not work. In fact, I had to transfer money to a cousin in the US (I paid $50 in charges for that) to help out with the Applyweb schools.

Another one that stressed me was TU Delft (I applied after November 1 and was required to pay the fees). Unfortunately, they required that I transfer the money to a bank account in the Netherlands, I tried bank transfer from GTB but they said they weren't transferring euros at the time. I then looked at a couple of online services (Xoom, Mukuru) and tried Mukuru. After wasting my time, Mukuru refused to effect the payment. They had issues with me using a prepaid card and refunded my money shortly after. Any more ideas anyone?

My friend had 800 in his GRE Quantitative and 780 in his GRE verbal. He also has a 2.1 (with a very high GPA) from UNN.
Please I'll like to know how you sent in your transcripts to the institutions you applied to in US, since I'm also planning to apply to more schools, did you make use of Post Office or courier services.

It was crazy as I missed my flight to abuja(thanks to pdp Convention) then had to take the one for the day I was writing my exam, I managed to reach there 30 mins to my exam time and heard the silly server  crashed and a workstation was converted to the server needless to say I did not start until 4 hours later and it was apparent I would miss my evening flight back out of Abuja and I spent the time trying to get Aero to rebook my flight, I was mentally physically and emotionally exhausted when I started the exam. So my advice to you, make sure you get to your exam center way way before the time and remain relaxed if you can.

Finally wrote my GRE and got 1220, 700Q and 520V. I hope this would be enough to get something good, but for now I am graduating from this thread to the schools and admission thread. I wish the rest of you luck.

Cheers.
Great Quant score bro, I've been trying to download powerprep from the internet but to no avail. Do you know of any website where I can get it from?

Thanks.

This Akala is very dumb. How can he be associating Jonathan with JEGA. This is height of stupidity. I'm sure Jega and even GEJ himself will not be happy with this.
What a dumb statement from a governor. Where is INEC independence when you are abbreviating GEJ's name to mean Jega in an open campaign like this.
OMG, Akala is a fool
Well said bro.

SEFAGO:
hmm

Most of my knowledge of schools is based on the Northeast and West Coast - remember the US is a huge country, but I know Oklahoma and Louisiana are great places for the oil industry so it would make sense that they would be great for petroleum engineering. However very few state schools offer TA or RA to international students. I havent heard of anyone getting into a doctoral program without funding and I would not encourage anyone to pay for a PhD but . . . if thats what you want to do then . . . but what are your other options?

Yeah true. Actually the most important factors has always been recommendations/ how prestigious your undergraduate is (prestige according to professors lol which tends to be weird) and research for people who did their undergrad in the US. For people who studied in the UK or Nigeria they would usually use your GPA/Class and GRE since research is not overly encouraged at the undergraduate level. Their assumption is that high aptitude equals to good research skills.

Brilliant and correct. Usually the best engineering schools have always been located in areas where there is significant engineering activity due to ties with industry. Areas like California have the best engineering schools in the world- USC, Caltech, Berkeley and Stanford. Texas has Austin, TAMU and Rice. Michigan which revolutionized the automobile industry has Umich which is great for mechanical.

@ kommentator

Why exactly do you want to do a masters in that subject- like whats your ultimate goal after having a degree in that field?
@SEFAGO
Thanks a whole lot bro. I intend getting into lecturing and Biomedical research fully after my masters.

Consultant:
American schools will typically ask you for your GPA (our class of degree doesn't really mean much here). That being said, most will still require you to have a GPA of 3.0/4.0, which does translate into a 2.1. What you can do is aim for a very high score in your GRE. Then when you fill out your applications, make sure you use the extra space they provide for additional information to provide an expalnantion for why your GPA is not a true reflection of your academic ability. With good essays, and recommendations as well, admission to a good school is definitely possible with a 2.2.
Thanks a bunch, now I'm a lil bit confused.

[size=8pt]Hello House,

I've been having problems with my Blackberry Bold 9000 lately. I did a restart by removing the battery, and later replaced it within minutes but the phone couldn't start up again, it keeps giving me this error report [color=#990000]''JVM Error 517 Filesystem corrupt''
.

Please any suggestion to fix the problem would be appreciated. Thanks you all.

Music/RadioMust Nigerian Music Artistes Abuse The Use Of ''swagger''? by Kommentato(op): 4:27pm On Oct 14, 2009
It's obvious that most Nigerian Music Artistes now make use of the word ''Swagger'' even though it makes no sense in a particular track line. I think they have been abusing it and I believe not all of them know the exact meaning of it. Swagger here, Swagger there, must they pollute the whole track with Swagger. shocked grin cheesy smiley kiss
