The media has been awash with stories of death and injuries caused by the used of sub-standard phone accessories in the country.

Two brothers, who allegedly raped two children of their neighbours, are now in police custody

It sounds strange but it really happened.

The Incident

Many residents in the Shogunle, Oshodi area of Lagos State are yet to come to terms on what could have come upon two brothers, who allegedly raped two children.

Charles and Daniel Udom, who both reside at No 16 Aina Street, were said to have forcefully raped the minors aged 10 and 13.

The alleged incidents took place at the same apartment some days apart.

Charles, 27, was said to have defiled a 10-year-old girl, simply identified as Bukola, the daughter of a co-tenant.

Charles had allegedly asked the little girl to bring a bottle of soft drink to him in his room.

But while the girl was trying to deliver the bottle of drink to him, he grabbed her, pulled her into his parent's room and raped her.

He was said to have given the victim N100 and told her not to tell anyone.

A few days after Charles carried out his randy mission, his younger brother, Daniel, allegedly toed his elder brother’s path.

He also pouncing on a 13-year-old daughter of another neighbour, named Mercy.

Daniel allegedly used money as bait to lure the minor into their room one sunny afternoon, when virtually everybody in the house had gone to work.

He was said to have bolted the door immediately the girl entered and succeeded in raping her.

The incident came to light on Sunday, October14 after Bukola told her mother what Charles did to her.

Bukola’s mother then raised an alarm and confronted Charles. He, however, denied the allegation.

The Confrontation

Soon after her outburst, Mercy told her mother that Daniel also did the same to her in their room.

It was gathered that the family of the suspects and the victims had completed plans to settle the matter without involving the police, until neighbours persuaded the parents to seek justice.

The suspects were arrested by policemen from Shogunle division and later transferred to Gender Office at the Lagos Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja, for further investigation.

Some people who spoke with Bounce News when our correspondent visited the area on Wednesday said they believed the two siblings appeared to have been suffering from a curse.

One of the tenants living in the same building with the victims and suspects, who simply identified himself as Kunle said the incident was not ordinary.

The Spiritual Twist

"Both of them are suffering from a curse placed upon them. If you see both of them in the house, you will understand what I am saying. They don’t have a particular work they do, except roaming about the streets.

“In most cases, they will fight their mother after stealing the poor woman’s money. If they don’t fight their mother, you will see them fighting tenants in the house. I believe they are not doing it for the first time. It was God that exposed them.

"We were all shocked because our female children run errands for him.

Attempts to speak with both the parents of the suspects and victims were not successful.

They said they were not ready to talk on the matter.

5 Ways To Control The Amount Of Food You Eat Without Starving

1. Decide How Much You Want to Eat

Decide how much food you will be willing to consume and your body will readily accept it. Although it would not be easy at first, you will be able to scale through if you remain true to yourself.

This will also help you maintain your weight long term as you are in control how much calories you consume and how you make use of them.

Making this decision simply means staying off the excess calories you normally consume all in the name of them being irresistible (a.k.a longthroat). After your dinner, don't go for any other meal just because you feel that your body needs more. Make that decision and stick to it.

2. Drink Water Before and During Eating

Make sure you drink water before eating as this makes you get full quickly and helps control your food intake. Also, drink water in between meals to help you eat less.

When I say drink water, I don't mean you just take a sip like Celebrities do when drinking wine on Africa Magic. Take enough.

Drinking water before and during meals is one of the best ways to control your food intake. Maybe its because it requires less discipline.

3. Smaller Plates, Smaller Meals

Use smaller plates, and eat smaller meals, these aids in quick digestion and allows you to make use of the calories that comes out of these foods.

Also eating smaller meals helps you moderate the amount of food you eat, although losing fat is not about reducing the amount of food you eat but reducing the number of calories you consume. A small meal should contain more proteins and fiber and less carbohydrate or simply just half your normal meal.

4. Chew Slowly and Longer

I believe the reason why most people eat a lot more food is that of 3 main reasons.

1. They allow themselves to go extremely hungry before they eat
2. They eat very fast.
3. They don’t want to control themselves

Take longer time to chew your meals and chew them slowly enough. Enjoy the taste of the food. If you think this is weird, then you are not thinking the way healthy good looking people do.

5. Drink More Water

Water is required to make your brain and organs work more efficiently and that is why sometimes we feel confused, easily fatigued and thirsty.

Also, increased water intake reduces food cravings which normally makes us eat more.

The recommended intake of water is at least 2 litres of water (6 - 10 glasses). But I recommend that whatever you take should depend on your weight, age and lifestyle as those who have more weight and have high activity levels should take more water.

I normally go for as many as I can, but you can put that between 8 – 10 glasses of water a day.

6. Proteins

Filling your plate with proteins help you fill up quickly and also stay full. A small breakfast of bread, tea, and eggs is good enough to keep you running for the day before your next big meal.

President Muhammadu Buhari invited a 10-year-old girl named Aysha Aliyu Gebi from Bauchi state to the state house in Abuja after her letter requesting to see him surfaced online, along with two other little girls. The president hosted three of his young admirers at the presidential villa, Abuja. The three kids spent about 30 minutes with the president Monday morning.

The three children; Nicole Benson, from Lagos, Maya Jamal from Abuja and Aisha Gebbi from Bauchi have shown their support for the president in different ways.

According to reports, Ms. Benson, a nine-year-old pupil of Greensprings School Lekki in Lagos, made headlines prior to the 2015 presidential election when she donated her lunch ticket to then candidate Buhari as her contribution to his presidential campaign.

Maya Jamal, the three-year-old daughter of a popular social media user, “White Nigerian” was seen in a 10 second video praying for the quick recovery of Mr. Buhari while he was in London receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment.
