To shine is to be peculiar according to 1 Peter 2:9. Those who are peculiar are usually different. It also means to stand out from the crowd. In 2Kings 2:1-8, there were many sons of the prophets but only Elisha stood out and shone all the way. To shine you must be willing to be special. Acts 19:11-12 says God performed special miracles through one of His servants who was willing to shine. Do you know that God is ready to use you to do the impossible? Do you know that everything you need to succeed in life and ministry is already prepared by God? The problem is that we are not willing: we are often not ready. Do you know some of us keep God on His toes? He is ever ready but are we? Before God ever sent you on an errand, He had provided everything for you to successfully carry out that assignment. Even when you are faced with lack, God does not see any lack because He has made provision for all things. All you need to do is to go to Him in all sincerity and ask. Another reason many of us cannot shine is because we refuse to pay the price to shine. God will not ask you to pay the price that you cannot. He is no taskmaster. If you are special, your standard must be quite high. You cannot afford to eat what every other person is eating. Daniel was special and he refused what others ate and at the end, he and his pals had a different result from every other person. If you want to end differently let your consecration level and loyalty level be different. If you do what every other person is doing, but expect to end somewhere else, then you must be a joker. Are you prepared to pray more intensively, worship more in spirit and truth and study the Word as never before? Are you prepared to make sacrifices for the Kingdom? It is what you are prepared to give up or to give in that will determine what God is willing to give out to you.

Besides motionlessness nd crawling,d next category of motion is walking.D first two categories hav 2 do wit immaturity.Wen a month old baby is placed somewhere,d legs nd hands can be movin in d air bt dere will be no physical motion.Also,it is toddlers dat crawl on deir hands nd feet;wen a toddler wants 2 move towards maturity,he or she will begin 2 stand nd walk.To walk means 2 move 4rm one point 2 anoda @ a uniform pace on foot.D progress dat can be attained wit dis kind of motion is minimal.Most pple re @ dis level of motion.Dey move 4rm month 2 month just managing 2 exist. However,apart 4rm walking dere is leaping as anoda category of motion.In Acts 3:1-8,wen d lame fellow was healed,he began 2 walk nd 2 leap.To leap is 2 move by jumping forcefully wit a long or high arc.Even though d upward height attained by leaping is temporal,it is still better dan just walking.Dere some tins ordinarily beyond ur reach bt wen u leap,u re able 2 access dem.Dis can be compared in financial terms wit a business man who gets 1 contract in 3yrs.Anoda category of motion is running.To run is 2 make steady,speedy progress.In Genesis 26:12-14,we read dat Isaac's financial nd material blessings took a progressive trajectory.Verse 13 of dis scripture says,"And the man waxed great,and went forward,and grew until he became very great:". Dat is progress @ some speed.D next category is flying.To fly is 2 make a fast upward motion nd 2 sustain motion @ d height so attained 4 a while.If u were 2 go 4rm Lagos 2 Abuja by running,it could take u @ least two days if u re very strong,bt if u were 2 fly in an airbus,it would take u less dan an hour.In oda words,wen u fly,time nd results re in ur favour.Wat will take ur colleagues so long 2 accomplish would be achieved @ a considerably shorter time by u.For instance,in 1 Samuel 16:11-13,David woke up dat mornin as a shepherd boy bt b4 evenin,he had been anointed king.Dat is expedited progress far beyond running nd dis will be ur potion dis season.

Psalm 111:10 says if you will be wise at all, you will start by fearing God. Proverbs 3:7 says,"Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil". This means it is not what men think wisdom is that is truly wisdom, but what God calls wisdom. Also, it tells us that it is wisdom to avoid sin in its entirely and foolishness to live in sin. Are you born-again? God says you have started your journey into wisdom. Any step into sin therefore is dumping wisdom for foolishness. Show me a wise believer and I will show you a believer who keeps sin at arms-length. How close are you to sin? "The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise"Proverbs 11:30. Another yardstick for measuring wisdom is the ability to win souls. The scripture did not say the fellow who wins a soul to Christ once in a long while - say three or six months, is wise, but the fellow who continues to win souls. If you win souls once in a while, you are to be commended: you are at the periphery of wisdom. But if you want to be counted as wise, you must do so more often. We live at the end time and there is a massive assignment God has for today believers in Christ that involves serious, planned and sustained soul winning. The wise believers will be actively involved in soul winning irrespective of their primary calling or department, while the foolish believers will occupy themselves with activities that have no bearing with soul winning. Some day God will draw a line between the wise and the foolish, between the soul winners and believers who refuse to win souls. On that day, where will you fall? How many souls have you won to the Lord this year, this month or this week? Key into soul winning and key into wisdom and eternal blessing today!

There are people who have gone through the best of theological institutions and have been certified and recognised by men, but they are nowhere to be found among God's favourites because they have not drawn closer to God as He expects of them. May you be among the divine eagles! However, among eagles, there are stand-out eagles. Acts 5:12-16 says special miracles were performed by the hands of some eagles while others only experienced ordinary miracles. All the apostles were eagles but only Peter had his shadow healing the sick. One. Of my very young children returned from sunday school one day and asked: 'Dad, do you really know the Bible?' 'I know the Bible very well I replied'. Then he said 'Who is Prochorus?' I told him I don't know that person. 'What about Nicanor?' Then I asked, 'Is that in the Bible?' He further asked, 'What about Timon?' 'Do you mean Simeon?' He said no. So I said 'I don't know what you are talking about'. 'But Dad, I thought you said you know the Bible; these are among the seven deacons in the early church'. I said, 'God have mercy on them because I only know Stephen and Philip'. I obviously lost sight of the others because they were hardly ever mentioned afterwards, whereas Stephen and Philip were shinning stars as God's favourites. Believe it or not, some Christians may never taste of the level of special miracles that Paul saw God doing through him in Acts 19:11-12. To become a divine favourite, there is a price to pay. First, you must be prepared to separate from every unclean thing (2 Corinthians 6:14-18). Nobody can become outstanding if he or she is unwilling to stand out. While pigeons gather, eagles fly alone. You cannot afford to do things the way others are doing them if you want to become God's favourite. Others may overeat or oversleep but you cannot afford such luxury because of where you are going. Gehazi was being prepared to be a highly anointed man of God but he was busy chasing after wealth and riches. He got what he wanted and even beyond it. If you are pursuing wealth, you will get more than you bargained for. It is one thing to acquire wealth but another thing to live to spend it. The only blessing that will make you rich without adding sorrow is the blessing that comes from God. If you are stealing or doing illegal business, even before you die, it will take its toll on you. Gehazi got the money but he also got the disease that Naaman was prepared to pay any amount to get rid of. He could not enjoy his reward of iniquity and he brought leprosy to his generation. You cannot tell where that seemingly little sin could lead you. All that David wanted to do that day as he saw Uriah's naked wife, was just to have sex, but he got more than he bargained for. That sin was just beginning of several more sins and it brought a lasting curse upon David's family. You can tell the beginning of a sin but you may not be able to tell its end. When Judas Iscariot was pursuing money, little did he know that it could make him to sell his Master, lead to his suicide and cause him to be abhorred eternally. Be mindful of your steps. Are you thinking of stealing from the offering of the church? You will be biting more than you can chew! Are you secretly planning to commit fornication or adultery? Did you say it will be only once and you will never try it again? The truth is, that single act of sin will surely attract others in quick succession and each will come with their repercussions. When you avoid committing a sin, you keep yourself from several unpleasant consequences. If you do not want an evil harvest, steer clear of sin - no matter how small, seemingly hurt free or secretive it appears. You cannot effectively hide sin no matter how smart you are.

The simplest and the most powerful thing on earth is receiving CHRIST JESUS

Believers have different endowment of grace from God. God has given us different talents. It is one thing to have a telent and another thing to use it.In Acts 8:5-8,Philip shone for the Lord and brought joy to a city. How many individuals, families or communities have you delivered joy to? If one man with the same Holy Spirit you have can deliver joy to a city,you have no excuse for not being a source of joy to others.On the other hand,if light fails to shine,darkness will take over.If you consider the aftermath of not trading with the talent given in the parable of the talents,no believer in his or her right mind will like to go through such (Matthew 25:28-30).Instead of a commendation,the unprofitable servant received a rebuke. May the Lord not rebuke you for neglecting your talent! Beside rebuke,the servant who received one talent lost it to his colleague who traded with his. Do you know that apart from eternity,some believers can lose their talents to fellow believers here on earth? This is one reason to use whatever God has given to you in a most productive way to glorify Him.If God is totally glorified in the way you use the resources He has given to you,there will be no need to give it to someone else. Today,there are many believers who once had certain talents or abilities but because they failed to use them well,the grace to operate such divine endowments was withdrawn; they can only point to other people they see using the talents they once had. That shall not be your portion in Jesus name! The servant was tagged an unprofitable servant. Can God call you a profitable servant? What kind of profit has your presence and involvement brought to the Kingdom of God? Finally,the servant had to share eternity with unbelievers. In other words,if your salvation through the blood of Jesus cannot benefit God's Kingdom,one can still end up in hell. May you end up in Heaven! Rise up, dust your talents and begin to use them from now.

There are seven categories of motion. The first is total stagnation which indicates a state of no motion. In Mark 2:1-12, we read of a paralysed man who could not do anything for himself except someone else helped him. He was in a state of total stagnation. This is the worst state of motion. Some people are in that state. No matter their efforts, the situation remains the same. In other words, it appears there is nothing they can do to change their situation. If you are in this state, the Lord will reach out to you in Jesus name. That force or power that is keeping you on the same spot is paralysed now. For some people, the evil people spiritually manipulated their destinies never to leave where they have been. No matter how old some people become, they keep dreaming of their primary or secondary school days, or see themselves serving in the house of a particular uncle, aunt, or relation where they lived many years ago. They have been tied to their past and are not meant to leave their past. Every evil tie to your unpleasant past is destroyed today in Jesus name. You are set free to fulfil your destiny. Crawling is the next category of motion after motionlessness. In John 9:1-7, we read of a man who was born blind. Whenever he had to go somewhere, he could not move fast for lack of sight. At this stage, there is motion but it is very limited and slow. Are you experiencing slow progress? If you labour so much but have little results to show for it, then you are crawling. If it is taking you six months to achieve what you could have achieved in one month, you are crawling. If what is taking others one year to achieve is taking you 10 years, you are crawling. Many people view wisdom from different angles.But if we were to use the fear of God as the yardstick for measuring wisdom,then you can be very certain we have quite a number of foolish people among us.Psalm 111:10 says,"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever". Not many of us fear God - even ministers of God! We fear our bosses in our work places.We fear those who approve contracts for us.We fail to fear the One who should be our fear and dread (Isaiah 8:13). Can you believe that some ministers of God find it difficult to join the congregation in praising God? At praise or worship time,you will find some of them standing straight and looking in a sanctimonious way as if they have forgotten that the day they became ministers of God,they were placed right in God's palms.If God wants to deal with His ministers,He does not need to search for them;all He needs to do is close His hands. Do you say you are a worker or minister and you still tell lies? Do you steal? Do you falsify reports or approve reports that you know are not true? Remember God is seeing you. If you do not know anything about God,do know that He is a Consuming fire.He is quiet because He is so powerful. When a river is shallow,it makes a lot of noise. In Numbers 12:1-16,when Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses,God summoned the three of them and asked the offenders why they were not afraid to speak against His faithful servant.God left in anger without doing anything,yet as soon as He left,Miriam was covered with leprosy.What if He had decided to do something,would Miriam have survived it? Ministers of God, God still judges His servants. Tread carefully and fear Him.

Certain events take place at some point in one's life which causes one's hope to soar.This season,your hope will soar.In 1Samuel 1:9-18,Hannah had been going to shiloh and had been praying without receiving any change in her situation.She was probably never noticed.But one day,while praying,the man of God noticed her but misjudged her - taking her for a drunkard; by the time she explained herself,the man of God asked God to grant her request.From that moment,Hannah was no longer sad;she was free with everybody and happy because suddenly her hope began to rise.Even though she was yet to see the manifestation of her miracle,she had however experienced. An incident that had convinced her beyond reasonable doubts that the tide will surely turn. Similarly,in Mark 10:46-52,blind Bartimaeus had been staying at the same road side begging for years without receiving the help he so much needed,until one day,the Helper of the helpless passed by.As he began to shout out the name of Jesus,he heard someone say,'Be of good cheer,Jesus is calling you'.On hearing that good news,his hope arose.The King of Glory was about to pass judgment on his problem of many years. Yes, his hope soared high even though he was not yet healed.He threw away his garment and headed for the Lord because something told him that at last,his tide was about to turn. Also,in Acts 3:1-8,the lame man had begged from the same location for several years until he gave up hope of ever receiving any healing other than alms.But one day,the same men who had always given him alms came by and as usual,he asked and they said to him,'Focus on us'.As he looked on them,he saw the glory of God.At that point,hope arose in his heart to receive something of them. It does not matter how long you have been at that particular bus stop of your life,the Lord is passing your way this season. Let your hope arise today, be full of expectation of his touch because the tide is about to turn in your favour.

Get close to God 1st , before getin close to any one else ,because God without a man is still God ,but man without God is nothing

Do u knw dat u can go through dis world witout ur impact being felt? Surprisingly,dis is d experience of most pple all through their lives; dey live witout being noticed.If u look @ d scriptures,u wil find quite some names which were mentioned once or twice in d Bible which never amounted 2 anytin in God's Kingdom.May dat nt be ur portion! During state functions,while special attention is given 2 important dignitaries such as governors, ambassadors, ministers, commissioners, etc.,every other person wil be classified nd received in d common place.For such pple,it really does nt matter 2 d organisers of d function whether dey re entertained or not. The reason some pple wil never bcom God's favourite is dat even wen dey hav potential,dey refuse 2 develop it.Dey hav d wings but just refuse 2 fly.In 2Kings 2:1-15,it was common knowledge dat Elijah,d nation's prophet nd spiritual head was abt 2 be taken 2 Heaven.All d sons of d prophets in d prophetic school knew of dis,yet dey refused 2 fly.Only Elisha acted on dat information nd he bcam a divine eagle.Before dat transition,many sons of d prophets in d prophetic schools looked down on Elisha.Dey saw him as no more dan a servant dat he was.He was nt schooled in theology like dey were.He was nt certified like dey were.Dey were recognised as prophets-to-be but he was only a messenger.Even on d day of Elijah's transition,wen dey saw Elisha,dey flaunted d spiritual information @ their disposal: 'Hi messenger,do u knw dat u re abt 2 be separated 4rm ur master today?' It is nt impossible dat some of dem really desired 2 take over 4rm Elijah bt dey did notin abt it.At d end,after a receipt of d double portion of d Spirit upon Elijah,dey bowed 2 Elisha having seen d evidence dat he was now carrying twice wat his master once carried. Doing nothing simply takes u nowhere.

In 2Kings 5:20,Gehazi nt only resolved 2 pursue Naaman bt also 2 take sumtin 4rm him.Little wonder he got wat he sought! Matthew 7:7 says it is wat u seek dat u wil find.Wat re u seeking? Wen dis question was thrown @ paul,he said he was seeking 2 knw Jesus nd d power of His resurrection,and he got it.Be careful of wat u re searching for! However,dere is a dangerous twist wen Naaman turned 2 receive nd attend 2 Gehazi.Dis simply tells us dat d devil makes backsliding very easy.Gehazi did nt hav 2 run after Naaman 4 too long.If he did,he would probably hav grown tired nd could hav changed his mind.It is common knowledge dat u don't need much strength or effort to descend a hill.Usually,while facing a temptation,d devil makes it so alluring and easy 2 get.He tells his potential victim 2 go ahead nd immediately feed on his or her lust.Dis is one reason 2 suspect anytin dat seems good bt appears so easy 2 achieve;it could just be a satanic booby trap! Satan easily plans d fall of men nd women. He sets pple up.Hav u ever wondered wat Uriah's wife was doing naked @ dat time of d day,considering it was not yet night? David got up 4rm bed nd he felt like taking a stroll; unknown 2 him,Satan had set up both of dem 2 fall into d sin of adultery.Every satanic setup 2 bring u down shall fail.Many yrs ago,while I was still young in d village,I overheard d native medicine man saying dat if one is preparing medicine 2 heal d sick nd seven leaves re required,which must be arranged in a particular order;dat if one misses d order by one step,d healing charm would not work.But dat if one requires seven leaves 2 prepare an evil charm,by d time d fellow gets five,d charm wil take effect.James 4:8 says if u choose 2 pursue God,He wil equally simplify d process 4 u.For every step u take towards God,He wil take a longer stride towards u.In other words,if u truly want 2 serve God in d midst of difficult circumstances,He wil be dere 2 back u up wit His grace. God is calling every believer 2 arise and shine.You can shine like d sun by burning a bit of yourself bit by bit through giving.You can also shine like the moon.How? The moon receives light 4rm d sun nd reflects it 2 d world.Shortly before His ascension,d Lord gave an instruction to His disciples in Mark 16:15-18.He was simply asking them to go in His name,take d light from Him and reflect it 2 d world.You need to reflect His light bcus of d gross darkness dat will cover d earth.One characteristics of light is dat it attracts all kinds of things,both good and bad.If u turn on a light bulb in the midst of the night,it will attract different kinds of insects.Just as light attracts good things,so does it also attracts bad,ugly and evil things.In effect,the moment your church begins to grow or to achieve for God,get ready for those who will want to pull it down.Someone once said there are witches in The Redeemed Christian Church of God and I told him there are many of them.Some of them may even be among workers,choir,wives of ministers and pastors.I also added that the church is God's hospital and in every good hospital,you will have the worst or most challenging cases.However,light also attracts kings,princes and nobles and you need these in your church.Do you know that we are yet to have the best of singers,instrumentalist,prayer champions,ushers and ministers? Do you know that those who may be used of God to take your church to the next level are yet in the world as unconverted souls? If your light does not attract them,what a disservice that would be to the body of Christ! Some sisters are praying for husbands meanwhile God's right choice for them may still be 'enjoying' the world.It is when we reach out to these that such prayers may be answered.In the same vein,some helpers that God will use in taking you to your next level might still be unsaved.The more souls are saved,the greater our chances of accessing such potential brethren. Apart from making sacrifices and sowing seeds, another step you must take to enter your next level is prayer. You need to pray because it is only God who can bring you from the past to the present and take you from the present to the future. He is the One who is totally in charge of the elements of time and chance that are required to move you to your next level (Ecclesiastes 9:11). John 15:5 says without God, we can do nothing. If you look at the lives of patriarchs of old, you would see the role prayer played. Abraham and Isaac were great intercessors and Jacob too was a prayer warrior. After wasting several years, it got to a point that he realised he could no longer continue without prayer; so he tarried in God's presence and wrestled with God until his name was changed and his destiny was released. Do you realise that if he had refused to breakthrough in prayers, he could have been shut out of the destiny that had been earlier prophesied about him? Many people who claim to know Jesus are still separated from their next level because they have refused not just to pray but to pray through. What is the essence of praying without getting results? Looking back in retrospect, I can tell you that my father-in-the-Lord Pa Akindayomi was a seasoned prayer champion. Many years ago, Baba came to visit me in ilesa(south-west Nigeria). Then,I lived in a small house on the outskirts of the town and the toilet was outside the house. When I was going to bed that evening, Baba was on his kneels praying. I woke up at night to go to toilet and he was still praying. On rising up the following morning, Baba was still praying. I became afraid and began to wonder what he was praying about, but today I know better. Are you really keen on entering your next level? Then you cannot afford to ignore prevailing prayers. Psalm 30:5 tells us that negative events have time limits. If this were not the case, no one would be able to enjoy life at all. This also means that the fact that something went wrong is no reason why it will end wrong. Weeping can last for a night, but it will be gone in the morning. Are you weeping? It shall soon give way for joy. It also tells us that no matter the situation you are in now, as long as you are linked with Jesus who is a Master of Situations and circumstances(M.Sc), it shall end in joy. From the story of the Shunammite woman recorded in 2Kings 4:18-26, we learn that often times,storms never give notice before they come. Early that morning when the woman woke from sleep, the temperature of her son was normal, if it was not so, the boy would not have been allowed to visit his father in the field. You may never know when you will need to cry to God; therefore you must not owe God in vows (Psalm 50:14-15). When Jesus asked that they go over to the other side, the storm did not give any indication that it will come. One of my daughters was traveling to the Eastern part of Nigeria, sitting at the back seat of a Peugeot car as she read her Bible. Then suddenly while at top speed, the front tyre of the vehicle she was in busted. She could only remember one word - Jesus. She shouted it while the car began to somersault. At that point, there was no time to confess sins. One way of identifying God's favourite is in the brazen boldness they display wherever they are. They fear nobody but God and avoid nothing else but sin. One great attribute of the eagle which should be manifested in the life of God's favourites, is the way it dies. It is pretty difficult to find the carcass of an eagle anywhere in the jungle. Why? This is because when it is old and about to die, it flies up to the highest mountain, sits and faces the sun, and as the sun sets, it drops and dies. This simply assures divine eagles of a glorious end ahead. You shall not die in disgrace. You shall not die in dishonour. Your transition shall be glorious because you are a divine eagle. Do you know that Elijah left this world in God's chariots of fire, triumphantly? You too, at old age, when your work on earth for the Master is done, shall leave victoriously in Jesus name. However, and this is most unfortunate, most Christians never become God's favourite even after they have received forgiveness, salvation, deliverance, healing and several other blessings; they remain at the level that they were at salvation virtually all through their lives. They never climb to the level of sanctification. They receive healing but never get to be used by God to impact healing on the sick. They receive deliverance but are never able to set any captive free; they are blessed but never become a blessing to others; they have wings but they refuse to fly. Such Christians remain fledglings all through their lives. You cannot afford to go through life and remain at the bottom! God said you shall be head and not tail. What are you doing at the bottom of the ladder? There are heights before you.There are battles to fight and win. There are giants to fight and defeat. That you have been under does not mean you should die there. There is no divine commendation for those who failed to grow in God's grace that was made available. Everyone has a next level. As successful as you may consider yourself to be, there is a level you have not attained, a height you have not climbed, a feat that has not been achieved. You may not believe this but I discovered a long time ago that it is possible to become a General Overseer or District Overseer without even knowing Christ.I once preached in a church on what it means to be born-again,after which I made an altar call.The pastor approached the altar followed by everyone else.Surprised,I said,"Sir,this is not an altar call for transfer of the anointing or power".He replied,"Now that you have explained what it is to be born-again,I have realised the need to return to the altar".Thank God for people who are honest who are ready to amend their ways when they realise they have missed it.Even today,many ministers will need to pay a visit to the Cross of Calvary,because this is an era of holiness.How can you be holy if you are not born-again? Some people gave their lives to Christ but presently,they have withdrawn their commitment to Him. Are you still saved? To lie is the easiest sin for some ministers and their wives but they have forgotten that just one lie is enough to drown a soul in eternal hell. According to Luke 11:9-10, we are instructed to ask, seek and knock but the duration for making the request is not stated; in other words, we are to continue to ask, seek and knock until we receive our desire - till our joy is full (John 16:24). How are you asking today? Moreover, another lesson from the Shunammite woman of 2Kings 4:18-26 is that all is well that ends well. When you go through the scriptures, you will see several people who encountered problems but at the end, they had a pleasant, glorious ending. How a given situation ends is more crucial. In Mark 2:1-12, we read of a man who was paralysed. He was borne by four people because his situation had made him heavier, but at last he walked home by himself. In Mark 5:1-20, we see how a notorious mad man became an evangelist. Similarly, in Luke 7:11-15, we read of a woman who was happily married and had a son. At some point, she lost her husband then her son, and was embarking on a journey to bury him when she encountered Jesus. At the end, her trip into lasting sorrow became a trip into permanent joy and comfort when the Lord raised up her son from dead. Are you in a particular sorrowful situation?
