lasher1:
I came across these pictures online of a sexualized children's party, you can actually see an adult lady in it probably expected to have the kids under her watch but instead urging them on with their dirty dancing.

Check this link on nairaland https://www.nairaland.com/2530107/omg-small-children-rocking-themselves

Also below are pictures of other kids' parties where sexually suggestive dirty dancing seems to be the norm.
Imagine these innocent kids at this age being encouraged to continue by the supervising adults one can only wonder the mindset of these little boys about parties and ladies as they grow up.

And years later ladies would call them dogs when they dont see them as anything but a play thing for excitement?

Permitting this kind of sexually suggestive dance in a children's party should be classified as serious child abuse! And the adult organisers or encouragers reprimanded!

I'm getting a bit confused, it seems most people here from Benin do not know their real origin. The Oba of Benin was originally one of the seven sons of Oduduwa who's the progenitor of the Yoruba race. Is it that many people on this thread who claim to be from there are not educated in history or did their hostory teacher die?

Very interesting read! So we have depleted our reserves, gone overboard in our borrowing, our currency aint worth much even when we sell our major produce and Ngozi says we are not broke?

OK, biko can someone explain what was so important that we were spending all our monies both earned, saved and borrowed on, cos as far as I've seen there has been much less "federal" infrastructural development in this country in the past six years than years previous, this clearly points to greater levels of government thievery in these past few years no bi so?

Buhari rejects IMF terms for loan

The Nigerian leader, Gen. Muhammad Buhari, says his country will match Britain's oil prices even if it means undermining the pricing structure of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, the Financial Times reported yesterday.

The London business daily reported that General Buhari, in an interview in Lagos, also reaffirmed Nigeria's rejection of the International Monetary Fund's terms for a $2.4 billion loan.
General Buhari was quoted as saying the benefits if membership in the cartel outweighed the disadvantages, but that the 13-nation organization had to be realistic and allow flexibility for member countries in financial dificulties, such as Nigeria.

If Britain's North Sea oil prices dropped, Nigeria, which gets 95% of its foreign earnings from oil, would follow suit, he was quoted as saying, adding: "We will have to do that to survive."
General Buhari rejected monetary fund demands that Nigeria devalue its currency, the naira, by 50 to 60 per cent and that the west African country reduce domestic fuel subsidies, the Financial Times said.
The military leader, who came to power in a Dec. 31, 1983, coup, reportedly said higher prices for food and other items would result from devaluation.

Pls is there an online source for this? Such facts have been played down or refuted by PDP defenders I just want to be sure its true as it would say the truth about the kind of leader Buhari really was

Politics / Re: Dangote's Cement Price Drop Was To Support GEJ's Agenda by kreamstaff: 4:04am On Nov 04, 2014
This is crafty wickedness, Dangote up till 30th of October, offered distributors a promo with a discount, making many people especially new investors and young unemployed youths to run in and start cement business borrowing money to buy large stocks taking advantage of the dry season with a hope to sell fast only for him to crash down prices within a week and not considering the sellers who have heaped up large stocks!

Secondly Dangote had for several years been producing 32.5 grade cement only, which had been used for all construction till his company was able to start ''producing'' the new high grade one and all of a sudden are trying to discredit the previous as low grade and largely unsuitable knowing that only this type is produced by other cement manufacturers in Nigeria.

Thirdly, this stunt is aimed at making Gej govt look good but the actual aim is to gain full monopoly of the Nigerian cement market and make all other competitors run under and Gej being a dullard cannot read between the lines. So if you or any of your friends and family currently work with lafrage, unicem, that cement company in calabar . . . etc. You or them might soon be unemployed as Dangote is more of an importer and re-bagger of cement than a producer as he has the sole importation licence given to him by PDP govt knowing that it is cheaper to import cement from Asia than to produce in Nigeria.

On the other hand, I can now selfishly continue building my castle while a multitude of negatively affected Nigerians weep

Politics / Re: President Jonathan Can’t Win In 2015″ – Dokubo Asari by kreamstaff: 1:44pm On Oct 21, 2014
pdp has suceeded in spoiling Jonathan's name. knowing he was an easy to manipulate man, they put him forward for the people who stupidly belived they were voting for the man and not the party. now just a few months to election his own people have realized that he was completely useless to them while in power. Now we the people have learnt that the party is what we are actually voting for, the president is just a figure head so they can continue with wathever plan they originally had.
Politics / Re: President Jonathan Can’t Win In 2015″ – Dokubo Asari by kreamstaff: 7:12pm On Oct 20, 2014
remains a beneficiary of Obasanjo’s large heartedness.

He said: “First, there was no need for Goodluck Jonathan to disagree with Olusegun Obasanjo.

“I don’t like Obasanjo.

“I don’t like his face.

“I hate him.

“But he was instrumental in bringing Goodluck Jonathan to power.

“And the greedy people around Jonathan have not managed him enough to the extent that the President and people around him will allow Jonathan to disagree with Obasanjo openly

“And if you check, all the people who supported Goodluck Jonathan and fought to bring him to power, have openly disagreed with him.

“What was the cause of these disagreements?

“These are the questions we want to put to the president.

“Some people say Obasanjo is manipulating Goodluck Jonathan, that is why Jonathan is disagreeing with him and we ask: what has Goodluck Jonathan’s government achieved to show that it is a departure from other governments that have existed since 1956?

“For us, nothing has changed.

“It is still business as usual.

“So what are the advice that Obasanjo gave to Jonathan that were so difficult for him to fulfill, that made him decide to fall out with Obasanjo?

“Obasanjo was instrumental and manipulated the process that illegally removed Diepreye Alamieyeseigha as governor of Bayelsa State and installed Jonathan as governor, made him vice president, fought for him to become acting president and also fought for him to become president of Nigeria.

“Apart from Obasanjo, there are so many people who supported Goodluck Jonathan, some have been pushed out by those who were not there to give him any support, while some others are trapped and they cannot talk.

I have a feeling that Fulani man Buhari would have done more for Niger-delta than Jonathan has done so far Jonathan has done nothing for Niger Delta actually. It is getting more and more difficult to support him, the second niger bridge is another issue. Even his allies are denouncing him. What a shame!

Politics / President Jonathan Can’t Win In 2015″ – Dokubo Asari by kreamstaff: 6:44pm On Oct 20, 2014
“PRESIDENT JONATHAN CAN’T WIN IN 2015″ – DOKUBO ASARI
20 OCTOBER, 2014 POLITICS 1390
One of the biggest supporters and kinsman of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari, has declared that the president has lost the support of his political base, the South-south and the South-East owing to the failure of his government to deliver on its promises.

Dokubo-Asari, at a press conference in Abuja on Friday, said that it would be tough for Jonathan to win the presidential election in 2015 if he decides to run based on the poor showing of his administration.

He said that his decision to speak out was for him and others who are ardent supporters of Jonathan not to be blamed for his failure in 2015.

He said: “I want to start with an Ijaw proverb, which says: the eyes watched its seven children to death. Instead of advising them, it was just looking at them until they died, while the mouth talked its only child to life and success.

“We have continued as Ijaw people and the entire Niger Delta and South-South to support the presidency of President Goodluck Jonathan, but a time has come when silence cannot be golden.
“We mainly speak out in issues that are very critical to the survival of our people, the survival of the people of the South-South and the South-East, which happens to be the political base of Goodluck Jonathan.

“Jonathan is surrounded by very greedy people who are only in the Presidency to enrich themselves at the expense of Goodluck himself.

“This brings us to another Kalabari proverb, which says: where there are elders, a goat cannot be allowed to deliver tied to a stick.

“If we don’t talk and we continue to brush it aside, tomorrow we will be blamed and people will say: Mujahid Dokubo-Asari was around when Goodlcuk Jonathan was president and he didn’t talk.

“Them I will be an accomplice and accessory after the fact….

“It is alarming because the South-South must have its uninterrupted eight years tenure, which is constitutional.
“But with how things are going under Jonathan’s watch, we are afraid that we may not be able to have our eight years tenure because there will be no magic about it if it is going to be one man one vote.”

Dokubo-Asari said he will continue to speak out despite the fact that he had benefitted from Jonathan, adding that one of those causing trouble for the President remains the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Chief Godsday Orubebe.

He said: “I have benefited immensely from Goodluck Jonathan with my stake but benefit alone is not enough to make me to keep quiet when the period is very challenging for our people.

“So, some of us are tempted to ask this question: why are all these things happening?

“Why has the President allow some ministers like Godsday Orubebe to continue in government?

“Everyday people die on the East-West Road.

“If Orubebe is incompetent as he has shown himself to be, he should be removed.

“Nobody voted for Orubebe.

“And why is Orubebe so important to the President that he can’t remove him even in the face of his obvious incompetence and several allegation to corruption?

“We feel very ashamed and embarrassed.

“Orubebe was one of us.

“He was attending meetings with us, sleeping in the ground with us, entering night bus with us and we nominated him to be appointed a minister.

“We have gone to him and complained to him that we don’t like they way things are going in his ministry and told him that if the President leaves in 2015 without the completion of the East-West Road, we are finished.

“And the man keeps telling us there is no money.

“When IBB (former military President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida) was there, there was money.

“When Abacha was there, there was money.

“When others were there, there was money.

“How come the money disappeared when Jonathan got there?

“Jonathan and orubebe will account for the death in the East-West Road.”
On the face-off between Jonathan and former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Dokubo-Asari said there was no need for it.

He said that no matter what Jonathan feels, he still remains a beneficiary of O

Within the last eight months of this year, my company has recruited over 18 third class graduates for various firms based on performances on other assessements which some 2.1 and even first class products performed less than expected. We have a testing system that tests and grades you based on your asumed capacity. I must admit quite a lot, especially 2.1 and ocasionally 1st class products fell short of what their grades said of them. Hence we picked the 2.2 or 3rd who performed far better than their asumed capacity. These products are easier to negotiate with, tend to strive harder and do their best while at work than thewst & 2.1 grads who expect the world to lay at their feet.

Therefore keep your head up and ensure u develop yourself to be better than your stated grade. Your opportunity WILL COME! Good luck

humanshado:

Your wife can still apply for a second MSc. I also have a masters from the UK and I have gotten my visa for a second one in Canada starting in January 2014. So no problem with that. To search for a suitable programme visit: www.aucc.ca or simply google the name of the course and include 'canada' in the search.

With regard to visa application. I will suggest that your wife to apply for herself and the kid only for now. You will serve as home tie. The trick is as soon as she gets to canada she will send you invitation to join them. This has been provided by Canada immigration as a standard procedure. If you make the mistake of applying for the whole family at once you could be denied because the visa officer will want to see the source of funding for her while in Canada. You will also send a signal to the visa officer that you are moving to canada permanently and this will lead to denial. We have seen cases like that in this forum.

With regard to how much money you need, you must show that you have tuition fee and living expenses for one year, money for baby care of the child and regular source of funding which your salary account statement or company account statement will show. Canadian immigration requires a student to show 10,000 canadian dollars as living expenses.

After getting admission, the procesa of visa application is explained in detailed in this thread and I advise you to apply online at: www.cic.gc.ca.

I believe other people will advise you more as you start the process. All the best.

Thank you so very much humanshado for this precious information, its like you illuminated the dark for quite a number of us following this thread.ill follow your advice and work towards applying next year. As per the others who decided to badmouth me, all I asked for was a link to some thread where I could get help if u couldn't offer it. I believe its better at times to just keep quiet if u don't intend to help instead of replying with no useful info.

Hi everybody, please I need honest advice from experienced and helpful people in the house about my wife applying for a Msc in Canada. She already has an Msc from the Uk in business but wants to get another in Financial planning/assessment based on her work experience as a tax consultant in Nigeria, what uni would you recommend and what are the likely requirements, she had a 2.1 degree from a private Nigerian uni.

Also what are our chances of having me and our 1yr old baby accepted as dependents to travel to canada with her, what's the process like and how much in all do u think we should budget for the entire process.

Might I add that our long term plan is to finally immigrate to Canada as professionals in our feilds of industry.

Pls any info related to this as regards finances, best locations, approval possibilities or anythig helful at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Food for thought to those glorifying their pastors

1 Corinthians 3 :3 -11
King James 2000 Bible

3For you are yet carnal: for while there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are you not carnal, and walk as men?

4For while one says, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are you not carnal?

5Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom you believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?

6I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

7So then neither is he that plants anything, neither he that waters; but God that gives the increase.

8Now he that plants and he that waters are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor.

9For we are laborers together with God: you are God's field, you are God's building.

10According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another builds thereon. But let every man take heed how he builds thereupon.

11For no other foundation can a man lay than what is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
