Jobs/VacanciesRe: Is There No Hope Of Getting A Job For Graduates Wth Third Class? by kreamstaff: 5:58am On Oct 12, 2012
stanuplane: I JUST HAD A HEATED ARGUMENT WITH SOMEONE ON THIS MATTER. SET A SIMPLE APTITUDE TEST FOR A GROUP OF PEOPLE AND YOU'LL SEE THAT THE MAJORITY OF THE SO CALLED THIRD CLASS HOLDERS WILL DO BETTER THAT THE FIRST AND SECOND CLASS ONES. ANY REASONABLE EMPLOYER SHOULD CALL EVERYONE FOR A TEST, SELECT THE BEST AND EMPLOY THEM. ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT. AM TALKING FROM EXPERIENCE.
This is a fact that I have come to realize. I have been shocked severally by the outcome of quite a number of 3rd class graduates in comparison with the 2.1 and even at times 1st class counterparts in aptitude, skills or practical tests, On two occasions the results were rejected by my clients only to get another HR consultant test them and discover the same thing. We even carried out background checks to be sure that some of these 2.1 and 1st class students didn't give us fake results but were surprised to see they were authentic. This is one of the reasons why 2.1 graduates are not in high demand as before and many of them are jobless. Today organisations are ok with a 2.2 or 33d class who's worth his/her salt.
Unfortunately only few organisations are willing to give 3rd class and pass graduates a trial.

With a 3rd class gaining valuable experience and working your way up is the key, let your cv be skills or experience based rather than academic grade based, this is what most employers seek now.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Don’t Nigerian Pastors Preach Contentment? *picture* by kreamstaff: 3:27pm On Oct 07, 2012
Op I understand your grouse, but contrary to what you think, besides preaching the prosperity gospel, many of the churches you intend to condemn actually preach on contentment at times like a poster from winners chapel mentioned earlier.

However, I would like to refer you to the parable of the 3 servants with the talents. God expects you to develop on what u have to become a greater blessing to yourself, your generation and especially for His glory in a world where the Devils kids seem to have taken all that belongs to God's children and made them a laughing stock. For the Earth is the Lords and the fullness thereof.

To be content and not aim for higher or greater things is a choice you can take, but I asure you, those who aim for higher are able to bear more fruits while those who don't bear as a result of limitations they intentionally chose not to overcome are cut off.

Note that wealth in the hands of a truly righteous man is a vehicle for the propagation of the gospel as well as an avenue of blessing to the poor.

We Christians have been called not only to be blessed but most importantly to be a blessing morally, spiritually and financially to others.
Christianity EtcRe: A Proposition For Theological Debate by kreamstaff: 2:05pm On Oct 07, 2012
frosbel: How about we summarise v1-v7 with v14.

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Am quite surprised you chose to ignore the fact that verse 1 states: The word existed in the beginning, that the word was with God and that the word was God!
Also Please I'd like you to state the bible translation you are using as the verse you decided to dwell on happens to have the area you decided to dwell on in bracket () in the Kjv, meaning it was probably an additional explanation given by early interpreters based on their human understanding and bias . I may be wrong but pls check.

While at it pls explain what u understand by acts5:3-4 as to the personality of the Holyspirit who the bible explains has emotions and therefore can be grieved.
Christianity EtcRe: A Proposition For Theological Debate by kreamstaff: 1:20pm On Oct 07, 2012
Hi Forsbell I'd like to believe you are using an unadulterated version of the Bible. If so please read John 1: 1 - 17 and explain what you understand by it as per the personality of Lord Jesus.
Please state the bible translation you read from, so I can understand your point of view on the aspect.

May the Holyspirit guide you
Christianity EtcRe: Too All Christ Embassy Members Please Read by kreamstaff: 9:31am On Oct 07, 2012
Its quite intriguing your questions and such a pity that you decided to narrow it down to one church which you are personally against when so many christians in various denominations are presently going through the stuff mentioned in their lives simply because of their unbelief or level of understanding.

There are so many no bodies who have become great and better in life in CEC, while some have remained stagnant or retrogressive also in the same church. This is much same for those in several other ministries if u decide to be honest with yourself

I became a member of CEC due to curiosity on this forum about the bashing of the church which led me there for a healing after spending years in Winners and RCCG. Today I have a better understanding of things and must admit that my life is way better than before. Because I discovered my calling through this ministry.

Yes, due to my givings, I am more financially blessed now and presently run my own business and bless others, yes I just got married this year though to an RCCG member, yes I have received a better understanding of the word and study more on my own now than ever b4 with the direction of the Holyspirit. I give more for the propagation of the Gospel all around the world, give for the poor and homeless and help to bring hope to the hopeless.

The previous ministries I've been are all great and are suitable for people in specific callings of their lives be it RCCG, Winners, Deeper life, Rhema, MFM, Baptist, even C&S etc in order to make up the body of christ. We R all one in Him!
There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus.

So the advice summary is this:
1. If you are a non redeemed church guy dating a redeemed church lady, dump her now!
2. If you were engaged to a man who later lost his job. Dump him now!

Hear the divine words of the wise?
RomanceRe: Marrying A Nigerian Pastor: What Is it Like? by kreamstaff: 1:19pm On Oct 05, 2012
Marrying a pastor is a sacrifice and takes maturity and a lot of spirituality. If you don't have these qualities better think twice before. Your pastor hubby could be instructed to leave his job, sow his car, his land or whatever, abstain from sex for long periods and have little family time.

Your lives would not be private persay as you would have so many calls at odd hours for prayers, counselling, problem solving etc. So be ready to welcome every and anyone into your home.
Also be not deceived that all pastors will be rich, many more are poor and would even be depended on by many of the flock, widows and orphans. As the wife you are also given a big responsibility as mother of his flock both old and young.

There is a blessing in living ur life for others but you must be well groomed for it spiritually. Pastors can receive unmerited favour, cash and kind gifts too but don't bank on it always.

Good luck

Christianity EtcRe: Pastor-Chris Erects Massive Billboard Of Professions by kreamstaff: 10:10am On Aug 24, 2012
@op you seem to be sure of what you are saying. That the pastor himself erected this billboard about himself huh Sometimes its better to keep shut about something rather than spread stupid false stories like you usually do.

It is a known fact that many 'pastor followers' in the world and especially Nigeria today are confused with what the purpose of a pastor truly is and want to see them as God himself, not knowing they are causing great damage that often cause these pastors to stumble.

Remember how two of Jesus' disciples rebuked a woman who was trying to praise them as 'men of God' to get them swollen headed with pride and get people to focus on them rather than God so as to cause them to stumble? This is the same situation we see today, and I must tell you it is a plot through which the Devil brings down strong standing men of God as well as redirect the focus of followers from God to these pastors!

Please if u r a follower of any of these men of God, Adeboye, Kumuyi, Oyedepo, Oyakhilome, Obadare, Bakare etc please its ok to love and honour them, but don't IDOLIZE them for you are only leading them and other young christians to stumble. Their blood will be on your heads!

CareerRe: Most Ridiculed And Rubbished Professions In Nigeria by kreamstaff: 9:12pm On Aug 13, 2012
I believe the most rubbished profession in Nigeria presently is the POLICE and reduced to that level by the officers themselves, especially after the rubbish I experienced today.
CareerRe: Most Ridiculed And Rubbished Professions In Nigeria by kreamstaff: 8:16pm On Aug 11, 2012
AjanleKoko: I read the post like OP was gloating that his profession is not one of the 'most ridiculed and rubbished'. I might be wrong; read it again and see.
Yeah I feel you, I have observed that the op usually comes up with some strong points at times but has a crazy way of making people accept the bitter pill without considering their sensitivity to the facts.

The truth is that Nigerian professionals need to stand up and guard their professions maintaining its dignity, so that every tom, dik and harry can't get into it anyhow. What do you think would happen to Banking/finance graduates if it was the main prerequisite for a banking job bankers won't be easily hired and fired daily as it is today?
Or what would it be like if the law profession recommended that every law graduate earn minimum of say 80k knowing they spent 7 though years getting qualified?( Pharmacists have a similar law) Do you think any body would have the gutts to call them "Charge and bail" as they presently do?

Please let's remove sentiments and face the real facts, this is a good thread with serious issues for today's career planners and professional bodies.
That said, op I suggest you apologise for your insensitive approach on the matter.
CareerRe: Most Ridiculed And Rubbished Professions In Nigeria by kreamstaff: 6:30pm On Aug 11, 2012
The op has a point, the situation in Nigeria today has actually devalued many a profession. Take teaching for example as the writer rightly mentioned. Though it is a noble profession, teachers were "rubbished and ridiculed" for years to the point that it became embarrassing to tell people u teach. I was formerly a teacher in my hey days and I know how many times we went on strikes to ensure we got our due and rose from being rubbished by the Nigerian people. At least today teachers are better paid because of that.

Presently I work in HR. and its quite sad to see the amounts offered by companies for certain professions despite their relevance. If I understand the op, he is saying society today has rubbished some Professions and its left for such professions to prove their relevance and place a value on their products.

Many companies ask me to get them a graduate lawyer to earn 20k, while a fresh HND electrical engineer was offered circa 60 to 70k. Isn't that a societal ridicule on the law profession? Despite all their pain. Frankly I think peoples anger is misdirected at the op, rather he should be lauded for speaking out about these anomalies.

My two cents.

LesbianBoy: Thank u very much, I tot I was the only one that noticed it! Swiftcool na wa for you jor! Copy copy is a CRIME!
I have discovered that Nairaland is a resource centre for many comedians and nollywood writers who steal peoples experiences and turn it into material for their own use. Mark my words many funny experiences would be stolen off this site and used for jokes soon just as some real life experiences in the romance section have been converted into home videos. Am saying this so you can all mark the dates when these experiences were pasted before one unknown comedian from the East gets it and uses it to shine like the one trick pony many of them really are, living off peoples true experiences.

There's a possibility thatt the so called comedian converted this true life experience he got as a gist in to a joke not even knowing who it happened to

Okimski: Thank God a topic like this came up. Feedback or laziness i am in trouble right now, i end up with a pass. I don't seems to fine any school to go for my PGD in Geology. Can any one please give me an answer to this? Pls am waiting.
Unfortunately it is unlikely to find Nigerian Universities that would admit a person with a pass from a Uni into PG courses, I have dealt with some people in a similar situation but what I discovered worked for them was to gain some years of work experience in their area of interest and later apply for a PGD abroad especially the UK. Many more uk uni's (not highest rated) are accepting demonstrable professional knowledge from work experience as a booster to a poor degree result and would gladly give u a trial for a PG cert, if u do well u get on to do d PGD and eventually MSc.

Unfortunately getting the experience is the hard test, knowing Nigeria and its attitude to paper 3rd class and below
CareerRe: When Did You Know You'd Be Bagging A 3rd Class (or Pass) ? by kreamstaff: 4:46pm On Jun 13, 2012
Funny enough having been involved in the employment process many a times especially with Nigerian graduates from various Universities, it beats me to say that in many cases the 2.1 graduates have often fallen far below expectation while 2.2 and 3rd class in many cases have outshone their higher rated counterparts when given a chance in tests. Hence I have come to realise that many students have fallen into these categories due to bad rapport with saddist lecturers while many 2.1 graduates actually bribed their way through.

To answer the OP's question 3rd class graduates actually seem to have been unserious despite the tell tale signs, however you must also take into cognisance this issues of bad blood that may have occurred in their time or how else do you explain 3rd class products of Nigerian universities who are outshone their higher class rated professional counterparts today like Wole Soyinka, Falana, Fawehinmi who were probably blaclisted for faliure because they were activists.
CrimeRe: Crazy Real Life robberies /Crime Stories by kreamstaff: 3:52pm On Jun 13, 2012
^^^^ lol! Why are you trying desperately to sound intelligent? If you prefer summaries why not go to WAEC for that. Some of us prefer a storyline duh! The writer claimed he heard the story from a source not that he was there, and if u don't believe find out from opc or ex bakassi boys, bullet resisting jazz do exist. And of course throwing greenades in a residential area is dangerous, no wonder the officer was COURTMARSHALLED according to the writer. Try looking it up in a dictionary

Abeg carrygo with the crime stories bro. Am loving them, ill soon drop another
CrimeRe: Crazy Real Life robberies /Crime Stories by kreamstaff: 12:49pm On Jun 13, 2012
swiftycool: This happened some years ago in the south south of Naija, when robberies were very rampant and robbers so daring. The Dad of a friend of mine who was a senior military officer in charge of gunnery and ammunition which were often supplied to the base under his supervision. This man sometimes secretly stored ammo in their house which was outside the base while their quaters was being renovated and no one knew of it till one day.

Armed robbers had warned the area that they were comin to rob and everyone was scared. My friend's dad just stayed up drinking beer and watching TV all night till they arrived and were sighted by him from the balcony. They had started robbing the neighbours and were about 8 in number, 4 stood guard outside and 4 went in.

The officer took his gun and aimed at each robber standing guard, shooting point blank at each of them in quick succession being an excellent marks man, but to his surprise the bullet just bounced off while the guys turned in his direction and laughed, they had on some bullet resisting jazz on them! They called the rest of their gang to come out and head for where the shots were fired from.

The group assembled, eight in number and walked towards the compound which had no gate shouting that they were going to kill my friends father and all his family. By now everyone in the house was scared shitless, crying, begging God and blaming the dad.

To their suprise being the soldier he was, he wasn't shaken, he just ran into his room and came out with something in each of his hands, walked to the balcony, bent down and threw what was in his right hand at the robbers, followed swiftly by his left.

All of a sudden two successive deafening explosions were heard and the bodies of the assembled robbers flung in all directions; the man had used greenades! The only two robbers that survived were maimed 4 life, one lost both legs and the other was burnt badly and lost sight and hearing.

My friend's dad was courtmarshalled by his force in the morning. And jailled for a month but reinstated after 7months afte accquited by military court. Robberies in that area ceased for a very long time after that. Till today he's called BaBa Rambo! Lol
Lol! Now this is the best happily ended robbery story I've heard. Thumbs up to Baba Rambo

I once witnessed a lady whose bag was snatched by a guy on okada and she was first shocked but later started laughing, when asked she said it was her baby bag that was snatched containing loads of pampers covered with shit, she was looking for where to throw it. I guess the robbers helped out. I would have loved to see their faces when sharing the loot hahahaha
