Any update about the January 10th meeting?

I spoke with my Credible Source this night regarding updates on the ongoing NERC recruitment. Below are what he told me:

* Since the last test we had, no meeting has been convened to discuss anything further
* Just like other agencies and parastatals, NERC is currently on holiday
* Meeting will be held on 10th January 2023 purposively to discuss the next step of this recruitment process.

As long as we are still in, I will always update the house whenever there is new update.

I agree with you that the last test was so simple and less competitive making me think it was all a charade. But I realized that what I considered simple was difficult for others. I sat with people who applied for experience positions in Tariff and Rates, they struggled because the questions were not just mostly Economics, but Energy Economics related. Some of those I sat close to read Business and Marketing and confessed they've given up from the process. I wrote MSc. exams just 4 days ago on Energy and Petroleum Economics and you can understand how the NERC test will be for me compared with someone who read Business and does not understand what energy efficiency or negative externalities means and yet was confronted with such questions. The exam wasn't simple to all.

I am also very optimistic, but mine goes with passion and interest. Along the line, my moral values and their moral values do not match. This is a straight breaking up in any relationship! What are we moving again and Where are we moving it to when things does not match! As easy as the second test, if more than 70 people scored over 90 percent in a applied role, so third test will be considered or just rolling ballots to pick one or two from 70 people? Maybe that would take them another 2 months to decide! Decisions are made every two months of the last stage. We were cleared off the dubious stage is the final list. List are just approved without quality control checks on names for fraud and manipulation (unavoidably, names are individually contested, reshuffled, removed and replaced). The names that appear on the approved final list are the ones who are duly recruited.

Looks like a leaked memo to Madam Chairperson. The author will have to explain.

NCDMB has called FCC for collection of Certificate of Compliance from FCC.
NCDMB will be picking it up within the quarter, but for NCDMB to pick up these documents, they will have to produce names & numbers of staff to be given APL, states of origin and cadar of each staff to be employed to see if the long list comply with FCC extent rules of which NCDMB claims "it's handy, ma'am". They will be coming with this list in exchange of Letter of Compliance to prove they adhere to the extent rules.

Calm down, dear calm down. If the recruitment were a scam to cover-up for those earlier recruited, how come a candidate got his 'connection' to call the ES and send his qualifications (B.Sc 3rd Class, PGD, MSc.), his application was confirmed, but came short of the standard. He could have been considered, but the 'connection' was told he can't be employed based on his class of Degree. The process is ongoing. I wouldn't want to say much but I won't. People will get this job on merit and people will get it on connection. The ES is a good man. This isn't DPR or NNPC.

For those who contend that NCDMB can not issue Appointment Letters without interview, there is a precedence. INEC recruitment 2012. After the aptitude test, those who passed were asked to upload their documents and links were provided for each of the qualifications a candidate claimed to have in the application portal. After verification, those selected were called for interview in various centres around the country. Instead of interview, they were offered Letter of Appointments and resumed work by March, 2013.
I was made to understand that this recruitment will follow the same process.

I'll appreciate if you can get the number of people from Nasarawa and FCT. Thanks.

The details I'm going to be sharing is for candidates selected based on merit - At least to keep hopes alive.

His boss's friend at DPR Abuja checked for him. He explained further that they have specific number of people they call. That he'll be called so he should be patient.

A friend from Nasarawa State (an EH) just confirmed his name on the list at the DPR Zonal Office Abuja. He's yet to receive call to come pick his letter and he does not know if persons from the North Central or Nasarawa in particular have received calls to come pick their APLs. I'm happy for him but also anxiously waiting to be called. Has any EH been contacted?

Some states are under-represented in DPR and the current recruitment will not adequately bridge the gap.

I like to be given specific date but rather I was told 'soon. I got info from a contact at Abuja DPR office that soon successful applicants for the 2016 recruitment will be contacted and Appointment Letters will distributed. Also, more of those applicants who passed the test in 2017 will be invited for interview after distribution of Letters. He said all is set and I should expect the outcome this month. Even though hope had been bashed before, I'll wait and see.

For those who had there interviews October last year, don't listen to those spreading bad news. No one has been contacted. Be patient, you will be contacted. An open recruitment has processes while back door hiring is fast and corners are cut. Patience guys, patience (it's a virtue).

These are all speculations. What we are certain of is that the recruitment document has been approved by the FCC and returned to FIRS. What is remaining is for Offer Letters to be issued but no one knows when.
Even high ranking staff of the agency are not aware of what's going on. An AD in Human Resources and another DD were asked about this recruitment but were surprised interviews were even held. It seems only the Chairman knows what's going on which is good.

It was advertised around when the GT/EH was advertised. My Boss applied, wrote the exam at Kaduna and had the interview at Rockview Hotel in Abuja at the time we were having ours at Grand Cubana Hotel.
Placement in the civil service are considered based on your qualifications and years of experience. So, all EH cannot be placed at the Same grade level.

Unbeknownst to many on this platform, there is a group of hopefuls other than OND holders and GT/EH; these are people who applied for the Directorate Cadre. They were contacted the day before yesterday for their AOL. For such a juicy position, someone with no connection whatsoever was offered appointment. There could be hope this recruitment might be based on merit, cheer up guys. The end might be near.

Just thinking aloud though, I still can't phantom out why they (DPR) didn't allow any upload of postgraduate qualifications even during the call for update of info on the portal but asked for same during the interview. Can someone help with the explanation of the logic behind this? Were they really sincere or it was another trap for disqualification?

I am EH and I uploaded my Postgrad Degree when we were asked to update our profile. During the interview I was asked for professional membership (the panelist specifically asked for ACCA, ADA or ICAN) and Postgrad qualifications. I do not have any of the mentioned Professional membership but luckily for me, I have my MSc in Oil and Gas Business and the head of the interview panel looked at the other panelist and said that will do. I deduce therefore that for EH, Postgrad Degree and Professional membership are determining criteria for success. I left the interview very happy that day.

Nothing yet. I have friends who had the NCAT interview, none has been called. In fact, after the interview, nothing has been done.

FCC is Federal Character Commission. They make sure all recruitment into any government MDAs comply with the principle of Federal Character

Someone from Yobe got a call; another from Borno got called; and someone from Nasarawa got called. The calls are made randomly and not everyone is called. I wasn't called. And don't think that only Northerners are called, it just happens that I know these three who were called. For these three, they're sure they already have the job as their names are on the list against their respective state of origin.

That's the procedure. Yesterday, the FCC called a number of person to confirm their state and local government of origin and their confirmation ID for the FIRS recruitment. The countdown begins.

Yes, what this moniker posted is true 100%, especially the bolded. I got the same information this morning.

There would be a special Joint meeting tomorrow Wednesday, between DPR and FCC. This is part of the standard procedures. During the meeting, FCC may decide to do a random check on the successful applicants. For example, they will pick a successful applicants from Ondo state and call them, they will ask if they are so so so person from so so local government of so so state. They will likely ask for the applicant to confirm his address.

The procedure is to make sure that the slots of other states were not giving to others. And to ensure the quota system. It's automatic disqualification if they call you and your data mismatched what they have in the paper, that means someone put your name in state where you does not belong. But they may call only very few. After that, a certificate of compliance will be issued and emails will roll.

The end is near. Yesterday, several people received calls from FCC and where asked to confirm their FIRS Application Confirmation ID, their state and local government. Some state Commissioners of the FCC do this so their states can not be shortchanged in any recruitment.

What is all this talk of upfront sef. Upfront is housing and furniture allowance and is paid at the beginning of the year to staff that have been confirmed. So comot your mind for upfront.

Confirmation in the federal civil service is after two years. Upfront does not depend on confirmation; it will be paid on pro rata basis since you did not start from January. You are also entitle to First Twenty-eight Days in Lieu of Accommodation. Gentlemen and Ladies, from the start you will be smiling to the bank. I wish you all goodluck.

Congratulations bro. This info is in line with what my state Commissioner at FCC told me and a staff at FCC told my friend that all outstanding recruitment should be concluded February. I expect that of FIRS to be concluded this month.
