With filling the forms as married you have to remember that the date on your marriage certificate should be earlier than the date at which you intend to send the forms. So for example if you are going to send your forms in august 2012 your marriage certificate should bear a date earlier than august 2012. And as you stated your marriage date as being in october I suggest you pay particular attention to the dates. I do not know if you want to marry in october before you send your forms Just don't give them too much reason do doubt your genuineness.Hope this helps, thanks demmiereal: Thank you for the quick response to my post. Only if you know how much hope you just instilled in me. This lottery thing happened at the time I least expected so I believe strongly that God will finish the work He have started. |
About the 2NL, I spoke with kcc today, they said I should check my email after august 15th. You will be notified in your email to check back on the dv website. So wait until after august 15th to check your email. ajmiry: Any idea how we will receive our 2nd NL, according my understanding we will receive an email which asks to enter your confirmation code to dvlottery.state.gov from where we got our first NL. |
Hmmm You are very fast @wbokar. Guess you are checking the bulletin by the minute. Cos I just checked a few minutes ago and it said coming soon but I checked again after I saw your message and they have published it. Thanks for the heads up. wbokar: For October, immigrant numbers in the DV category are available to qualified DV-2013 applicants chargeable to all regions/eligible countries as follows. When an allocation cut-off number is shown, visas are available only for applicants with DV regional lottery rank numbers BELOW the specified allocation cut-off number: |
Gentiger: Here is the info on getting a job in the US as sent to my mail box by Adesoji Aderemi. Thanks a lot Gentiger. This is much highly appreciated. Thanks. /ksjlar |
Gentiger: Missannie, I dropped my email on request. I have posted a link which addresses the issue of NPC exhaustively. I merely asked those who may want further clarifications to contact me via my email. I have contacted Aderemi a couple of days ago via his email address he posted on this forum regarding securing jobs in the US, and his response was very useful. Some of us take time out of our very busy schedules to make this input inorder to make it unnecessary to pay consultation fees to immigrantion experts whose services you may not afford. Goodluck!@Gentiger Please can you share the response about getting jobs in the states from Aderemi I am very much interested and I am sure majority of the house mates might benefit from it. Thank you so much. I agree with you that the information we are getting on this forum is so much than any immigration consultant can/will give. And if even the information these so called immigration consultants provide are even accurate, they will give it in bits and pieces and by the time you get complete information they would have milked you of all your money. Please share the "finding a job in the US" info Gentiger. Thanks again. |
owobabaisabella: YES I HAVE ALL THIS AS YOU LISTED ABOVE IN MY 1NL.Its all good. In my opinion it is better to interview in UK. The airfare alone to naija can pay for almost all the administrative charges. Unless there is any special reason for which you would want to go / interview in Lagos Hope you get the point. Thanks |
owobabaisabella: @temmytanny,adesojiaderemi n to d rest of the house,am one of the lucky winner of DV 2013 presently living in UK. My question for the house is this, will my interview be in london or lagos? Thanks and i wish everybody best of luck IJN,amen.Question is if you are legally leaving in London or not. If you are legally living in London then it is better to have your interview in London. Will save you a lot of money and the wahala that people go through interviewing in Africa. Secondly if you have already filled and sent your forms to kcc, then it means that you already stated where you wanted to interview at on the forms. Question again is did you state which country you wanted to interview when filling the forms and sending to KCC. If you applied as living in London and won the lotterry then you should have something like below on your 1 NL Foreign State Chargeability: Nigeria Post: London Let know more . . . help us to help you. Hope this helps. Thanks |
Leripa: @brightmon, bussyme, temmytanny, tiwanna, dejie4love, adesojiaderemi and all: do i fill my parents names on my wife's DS-230 Part I or her parent names? and do i fill her parents names on my form or my parents names? thank u all.You have to fill your own parent's names on your own forms and your wife must fill her own parent's names on her forms. Why would you fill some one else parents names on your forms ![]() How about some one who is applying as single? Who else's parents names will he/She fill on forms Think about it.Thanks |
lateefdauda: Helo guys ls I need ur advice.I was among the selectees.I checked d result may 1 2012.but ve nt yet send d document.guys pls hope it nt too late to send. Am about to start with d processing also I will I send it to kcc.is it tru email or by post.guys I need ur urgent advisesYou can either do it by email or post. You have three options to do it. First, your can print out the forms and fill in your details with a pen. The second option is to open the form on a computer and fill it directly in the computer then later print it out if you finish filling form completely. Google chrome browser works well for me. The last option I see here is to sent the form by email. This needs you to be a little computer savvy. With this option you fill the forms on the internet as stated in option two. If you finish filling the forms, you will then save it in a pdf format (If you do not know what pdf is, then please do not use this format). "Nitro pdf pro" works for me (you can Google to download it). You will then write your case number at the top right hand of each page and then save it again. In all three options you need to keep an extra copy of your forms for future reference since it will come in handy when preparing for your interview. When sending the forms via email, you need to attach your pictures to the attachments you are going to send to kcc. The size of the picture is the same as the size used in the DV lottery. Ps. do not use the same pictures as you used to play the DV lottery since it is more that 6 months old. Hmm this is a lot of details but like I said do not use option three if you are not computer savvy. I personally called kcc and verified if they accept email forms and they said YES so don't ask me if you are wondering Hope this helps, thanks. |
missannie: Thank you so very much Brightmon for answering my previous question, God bless you. What you are referring to is Adjustment of Status. This does NOT apply to you. It is only meant for winners who live in the US at the time of winning and want to process their case in the US. All other winners not residing in the US will not have to pay anything again if the get to US. Hope this helps, Thanks |
mascotinme: @Tammytanny and everyone in da house, pls I do I include my fiance (we re already engaged, but not yet married) should I include her name where they asked " Name of person in 14 and 29 who will follow you LATER? Pls I need urgent reply b4 sending back d forms!!!! PleaseIt will take up to 3 years for you to arrange for here to join you at a later time. And remember the Visa is only valid for the fiscal year 2013. So if the fiscal year is over she cannot use the visa again since it will not be valid. You can arrange to marry here in a civil way, I mean at the courts which will be legally binding if you do not want to go through big wedding and all that. There is still time if you want to do that and you can always update your status. Don't let the CO be suspicious of you that's all |
papasan100: What About photos how do u send them coz they require hard copyWell I have a digital image that I attached to my documents. The size must conform to the size of the photo used to enter the DV lottery. Here is the link: http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3740.html I sent the photo as an attachment together with all my other documents. I filled the forms online with google chrome that was easier for me since I could not fill the forms with internet explorer or Firefox. Like I am saying they have not yet approved it or otherwise so if after 5 days they said I need a hard copy, then I will just send it to them by regular post. I will update you on that tho. Hope this helps. Thanks |
papasan100: i dont get it you send your forms via email.? i dont get it ..i s it possible really?I called them and they said it is possible so I sent them via email. And yes they said I will receive an email confirmation within 3 to 5 business days. It is not yet 3 - 5 business days yet so I cannot confirm or deny anything yet. But if after 5 days I do not hear from them then I will call them again and find out why. I will post it in here after I get any response. |
brightmon: papasan100: Do you have to send an email to KC~C to ask them whether they have received your forms? |

It means if you have your name in say Arabic or some other local language which is not English characters please write it down. I hope this helps. |
I asked this question earlier but I guess it has been missed by the experts. Please pardon me to re-post it again: Do you please know the specific help you get in the process of finding job as you stated that they assist you in the process of finding employment. Also with the address of someone living in the states, will they check up on the person and see whether the size of his apartment is enough to accommodate you or whether he is well to do? Thanx. |
tosmy :With immunization you as the primary applicant need it as well as all accompanying you to the US. The assigned doctors can best help you with which immunizations you should take. You must take along previous immunization certificates to the medical doctor who might advice you on which you should or should not take. Best you call the assigned doctor and have a discussion. With your case number, I hear other people are saying December or early next year. I don't know much about the dates but others here will help out am sure. |

temmytanny: As for the affidavit of support, please mail US embassy in NIgeria to find out if they still collect it.They dint collect for 2012 applicants. As for the petition, can you tell the forms where you saw that, cant find it on the forms with me tosmy :I called them about the petition portion and they told me it is my name again that i should repeat on that line and my address. Hope this helps. With affidavit of support I did not see that in the requirement list. However, I saw it in the DV 2013 instructions site, at the question and answer portion. It states that you either need a bank statement of your own or an affidavit of support or an employment letter or both/all if applicable. I was confused when I read that but Temmy says they did not ask about affidavit for 2012 so . . . |
temmytanny: You dont need to have money in your account before they grant you visa but you must have someone in US to stay with. The money you need to have is for the processing of your application. They wont get you job once you enter US but they will assist you in the process of getting one.Hello Temmy and fellow roomies, Do you please know the specific help you get in the process of finding job as you stated that they assist you in the process. Also with the address of someone living in the states, will they check up on the person and see whether the size of his apartment is enough to accommodate you? Thanks once again and I must admit that this site is very helpful I have signed up to other sites prior to this one and I am yet to receive administrator approval to post questions and comments. This site is really awesome. |

Hello fellows, This thread is very interesting and I want to say thanks to all people who has dedicated their time in helping others in here. Please with a number like 7xxx, when do you think I might have an interview. The visa bulletin has not said anything comprehensive on DV 2013 yet. Also how much money should I have for my bank statement and do you get any help in finding a job if you are granted the visa? I hope people who have passed through the process can give hints. Thanks |
Just don't give them too much reason do doubt your genuineness.
