Yusmash00: Thanks for the information. You will see positive respond by God grace. This is really going to help us on this forum. I read informations on the links and to my understand, During the application processing the SAO make the 50% decision of giving or visa denial and the consular will make the remain decision. If the SAO already deny your application you re still going to be interview even if you produce all the neccessary document, Its still gonna be visa denial but If the SAO already check your application and you re good to go then the consulate check your document its okay, you will be grant a visa. So we selectees should keep praying hard. Please include the SAO in your prayer. We need more interview experience even if its visa denial, share it.. Everything always happen for a reasons.I don't think you understood what you read. The application has not been denied. It is still undergoing processing. It is called Administrative Processing. Actually an application is not subjected to SAO until you go for an interview. There are a lot of reasons why an application is subjected to SAO. In my own case I suspect that it is because of my back ground in Info Sec. But other reasons why your application will be subjected to SAO is even if your name sounds like a terrorist, or even if you come from a country where they are anti america. SAO is not uncommon at all so just read and you will find out that it is been used at CO own discretion. If all the checks on you in Washington turns out to be ok, you will be granted the visa. It only takes time, might be from 2 weeks to even 7 months so it takes time that's just all. But God's timetable is different from mine and their's so no worries. |
Greetings to all forumites. I think I have cooled down from my chagrin interview experience and I am sober to share it now. I was actually optimistic of sharing my success story and not my suspense story that is why I haven't shared it yet but I think others can also gain from this if nothing else. We went to the Embassy with the wife. We interviewed outside of Africa since we live in Europe. DV lottery and all other immigrant visa categories had priority here so we were whisked into the embassy premises before you knew it. We were asked to match straight to counter X where we presented all our original documents. We were asked if we brought hard copies of our photos which we did so we handed it over. The receiving officer went through all our documents and asked us to pay at the cash point and take a set and that we will be called for our interview. We waited for about 20 - 30 mins and we were called to the counter. There were two interviewers this time I don't know why. Co1: Do you intend to tell the truth and nothing else? We: Yes I do, spouse - yes I do My fingerprints was taken and followed by my spouse's in that order. Co2 : How are you in ghanaian language (3ti sen - akan) Me : Surprised - 3ye (I'm fine Ghana) Co2: Why do you have your high school certificate laminated Me: For safekeeping, It was a long time ago 14 years . (I can't remember but my checks later proved my high school laminated all graduate's certificates). Co1: Do you have any one else to join your applications Me: No C01: Is this your wife are you married? Me: Yes C02: Do you have any children either now or from previous marriages? We: No co2: Are you both from same tribe in Ghana Me: Yes Co2: Why did you study akan when you come from a different region in Ghana. Me: It is not Akan it is fante, it was mandatory to study the local language of the region you study in back then, don't know if things has changed. (she was a weird type acting like she knows more about Ghana than me. I think she is the reason of my delay and still have to live with the suspense.) Co1: When did you get married? Me: Mentioned date and year Co1: Asked my spouse how we meet My spouse: Narrated how we met through a mutual friend Co1: Who is this mutual friend what is he called My Spouse: Gave name of mutual friend Co1: How are you related to mutual friend My spouse: Spouse answered. Co1: How are you related to mutual friend Me: I answered Co1: What are you doing now? Me: working at Bleep Co1: What are you working with? Me : computers Co1: You are studying information security too? Me: Yes Co1: How can you work in the south and study in the north at the same time? Me: It is a distance program. Co1:What programme was it? Me: Information Security Co1: What are you currently doing_ My Spouse: Bleep Co1 was writing all answers on piece of paper and not typing directly in computer. Don't know why. Co1: I'm just curious, how come your birth certificate is issued less that a week ago. Me: The processing delayed because I had to apply for it in Ghana and it took time for some strange reason. My spouse's certificate did not take long. They posted it on friday and I recieved it on monday that is why. Co1: My colleague will give you a letter and you will hear from us. You did not need provide us with anymore thing. Me: Thank you. The paper we were handed said that our application needed further administrative processing. I was worried initially because I thought the people from home hanged me dry with some shoddy documents but when I further researched what administrative processing means. I found out that it was more related to my field of study and field of work. I have attached the links here to help you. If any of you are in the same field then do not worry, The Lord that has started the good things in our lives will complete it in Jesus' name. Its also because of our niaja friend and others like him who decided to strap some nasty stuff around his balls and go on a flight with it on christmas day. What a douchebag! I am not afraid of anything actually, for the record my second 5 year yankey visa expires in a year and a couple of months. 10 years of yankee experience but still more wahala lol. ![]() http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Security_Advisory_Opinion http://www.studentaffairs.cmu.edu/oie/forstu/pdf/tal-students.pdf |
Leripa: Hi, can u pls explain how u did it and especially the passports? I am more concerned about the background of the pix after scanning. (ii) did u scan the pix separately or on the form?I addressed this issue on page 37 of this thread but anyway here is it again otherwise you can go and check it there. With your picture you need to scan it separately and also when going to interview you need to take pictures with you. You can either do it by email or post. You have three options to do it. First, your can print out the forms and fill in your details with a pen. The second option is to open the form on a computer and fill it directly in the computer then later print it out if you finish filling form completely. Google chrome browser works well for me. The last option I see here is to sent the form by email. This needs you to be a little computer savvy. With this option you fill the forms on the internet as stated in option two. If you finish filling the forms, you will then save it in a pdf format (If you do not know what pdf is, then please do not use this format). "Nitro pdf pro" works for me (you can Google to download it). You will then write your case number at the top right hand of each page and then save it again. In all three options you need to keep an extra copy of your forms for future reference since it will come in handy when preparing for your interview. When sending the forms via email, you need to attach your pictures to the attachments you are going to send to kcc. The size of the picture is the same as the size used in the DV lottery. Ps. do not use the same pictures as you used to play the DV lottery since it is more that 6 months old. Hmm this is a lot of details but like I said do not use option three if you are not computer savvy. I personally called kcc and verified if they accept email forms and they said YES so don't ask me if you are wondering Hope this helps, thanks. |
wbokar: Do you really need to supply new photographs at the time of interview apart from the one that were sent to KCC along with your DSP-122 and DS-230 forms? I thought KCC would send back to the consulate your files along with the photographs you submitted earlier for the CO to conduct your interview.I have read on this forum that you need to take some passport pictures with you to the interview. If you ask me, it is better to be safe than sorry so yeah I would suggest you take them pictures with you to the interview and if even it is not needed, then you can use it for other things . . . Maybe you can use if fill some forms in the US. How about that? |
missannie: Can i use d same passport photo (60*60) dat i sent wt my forms to KCC, on d day of my interviewIf that passport picture is not older than six months at the time of your interview, then YES you can use it. Thanx |
Today is 1st OCt! I thank the Lord that He will glorify His name in the Life of all DV2013 selectees beginning today. Thank you Lord, for your goodness endures forever. |
chyk2020: house please how do someone choose the state in the US where he will go to. is it at the time of the interview or during the time of filling ds230 form, because the state i filled is not where i wish to go. please i need ur response. Please also note that the state you filled on your form is where your green card will be posted to. So even if you go to another state, green card will still be posted to the old address. To correct this you must notify them at the POE and also follow up at the center of your new location within first week of arrival in US. It is not a guarantee that if you change it on date of interview it will be corrected. Many people has given testimony when they changed their original location but still green card was posted there. Hope this helps. Thanks |
hituneu: My friend has received here 2Nd NL ooooo.thnx to you guys here(2013af00707xx)from cotonu.Remaining my own oooooooo.CN 2013af007076xx,when will I be receiving my 2ND NL n interview?I am guessing that you are typing the case number wrong cos 70 000 is a high number. Seventy thousand! Can you please check your case number and confirm again. Thanks |
Kemzone2003: IN ADDITION...LET ME SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH YOU ON PREPARATION THEY MAKE AT THE EMBASSY BEFORE YOU EVEN LINE UP AT THE GATE ON YOUR INTERVIEW DATE..SOME WONDER WHAT THE CO IS CHECKING ON THE COMPUTER SCREEN..THEY HAVE READY MADE QUESTION FOR YOU THAT FITS YOUR PROFILE..THIS IS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE PROCEDURE USED BY THE CONSULAR OFFICER.Thanks for the info @Kemzone2003. Can you please update your information with the relevant source? Thank you. |
coax: Guys,The minimum qualification is high school so you are over qualified. If you think going the employment based way will complicate matters just go the educational way to avoid all hustle. In any case you high school completion is a must so just go with education. In the interview you will be asked what you have been doing since leaving school in which case you will have the opportunity to tout your working experience. |
Guys October bulletin is out! AFRICA 13,900 Except: Egypt 6,600 Ethiopia 9,100 Nigeria 8,500 ASIA 2,350 EUROPE 7,000 NORTH AMERICA (BAHAMAS) 2 OCEANIA 400 SOUTH AMERICA, and the CARIBBEAN 500 Thannks |
brightmon: MY brother, work it out. KCC is -5 GMT & NIG is +1 GMT, so what will 7:30am in KCC be in NIG?Hmm is this the first interview question by CO from October onward Lolz |
tundemalik@gmai:Well on the bulettin page this is what it says 'Upcoming month's visa bulletin: October 2012 (Coming Soon)' Thanks |
adzovia: is it true we have to send our documents to the embassy before the interview date? Please note that we are not supposed to send documents either kcc or embassy. Note however that there are country specific embassy requirements. Please select the country where you will be interviewing and you will get the specific things to bring and not to bring. The last I checked Ghana do not have embassy specific requirements but Nigeria did. Also I found out that some other countries in Europe required you to send your high school diploma. This is just to note that it varies from country to country so please take a look at the link below. http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3742.html Hope this helps |
adesojiaderemi@:Thanks, I was just thinking outside the box . . . killing 2 birds with one stone. . . Pushing the envelope you know. Is it difficult to become an Academy Instructor over there? It was very difficult for some friends of mine who tried before in Europe. Sorry for drifting on the forum and not addressing DV 2013 issues but all your feedback is highly appreciated. |
adesojiaderemi@:Thanks big man, will be waiting. |
gebr: Hello guysYou can also scan the form and send it to them by email. That is the cheapest way and you will get an auto reply to confirm that they got it. In a few days they will send you another mail to indicate that they have updated your case file with the info you sent. But your case number should be on the top right hand side of the form. And If I were you I will send the complete form. If I recall it is only 2 pages. |
adesojiaderemi@:adesojiaderemi@ Please are you aware of any academy statewide that has CCIE curriculum? Just sampling options to get a CCIE with a lower cost but much practical time. Hope you understand. Since all these boot camps and rack rentals are limited. Thinking to take my CCNP a notch higher. Thanks |
Tiwanna: thanks sir, you did cisco am starting mine by tomorrow same cisco. how is the package in cisco cuz am indecisive btw java, oracle and cisco when i start my trainingNot to jump the gun but adesojiaderemi@ is a Cisco instructor and he can help you a lot with information if you decide to go the Cisco way. Personally I will say that you should access yourself and find out which area interests you most cos there is more fulfillment in working in the area that you have a lot of interest in. Having said that I will also like to say that The job potential in Cisco and Oracle is higher than java which is programming. Cisco is more of networking and networking infrastructure and oracle is databases while java is programming. Cisco has many different tracks namely routing and switching, security, voice, wireless etc. so you can chose also which track you like but there is always a starting point in life so no worries. They key here is to get certification in your chosen area since certification is key in the US. I am a Cisco guy too that's why the little bias but really please do follow your interest and it will pay off since the US has reported a high demand on IT skills, Thanks |
adesojiaderemi@:Well noted big man, I will. Thanks |
adesojiaderemi@:Wow that's awesome, good one there. More big gurus and inspiration in the house. Thanks |
temmytanny: wao! thats a very big advantage for you in USThanks Temmy. I really pray so. We will all continue to share our testimonies after interview and also life in the States. God is good all the time. Thanks |
adesojiaderemi@:Yes o0o Big man. I am Cisco certified - CCNP. Hmmmm just offering my one penny worth of advice. Plus everyone in this house has been fantastic. Appreciated all the support from room mates. Thanks |
ifeanyi.abdul:Well you can just leave it at that. TLS means transport layer security and SSL is secure socket layer. This is a level of security which means that the information you enter into the site is encrypted meaning that if there is a hacker that is capturing your traffic they will not be able to understand what they capture because it is encrypted. There is more technicalities to it but you just have to keep ssl 3.0 and tls 1.2 ticked. Hope this helps a bit. Thanks |
Don Kool: Hi,I hope you have not accidentally deleted the notification letter or maybe your email client sent it into your junk mail which eventually gets deleted automatically. This should not be a big deal. You can still check your status with you notification you used to check that you won even without the email. If they have updated your case file it will show up there. If your case number is below 5500 and still haven't received your 2NL, then you can email KCC or better still you can wait for a week and email them if still no 2NL. But make sure all your documents are ready to go whiles you wait for 2NL. Thanks |
brightmon: hello house, i got this link of abt 20 interviwe experience in 2010/2011. Hope you get some important tips from it.Thanks a million for this heads up Brit. Highly appreciated. / |
C Blessed: thank you,but i am still receive the 1 Notification Letter. If you still see your 1NL, then it means that they have not yet updated your case file with the 2NL. Be patient, it will show up. Give until next week. They are updating gradually so everyone will have his/her share of the American Pie. Thanks |
Updates ready at dv site. Please check to see if 2NL out and interviews has been scheduled. Thanks |
Kemzone2003: http://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/exams/ti/panel/vaccination-panel-technical-instructions.htmlHello guys, with the vaccination, the smartest way to go about it is to contact any of the authorized doctors and they can tell you with authority what vaccine you need or otherwise. If you are a DV winner, then you will need a vaccine any way so why not do yourself the service of even contacting an authorized doctor recognized by the embassy to get this vaccination thing sorted out. Secondly with the issue of affidavit there no better way than our brother Temmy said it. Let us all wait and only contact the embassy for clarity after you receive your 2NL. That will help you better than debating it out here. And by the way did anyone get his/her 2NL yet. The 15th August date is long overdue. Thanks to you all. |
Bakorede: what is NL?Notification Letter! |
Any 2NL Received in the house? Housemates . . . please let us know. Thanks |
g-busta:You can travel the same day that you receive your visa after the interview. The 2013 fiscal year starts from October 1 to September 30th the next year. So you can travel anytime you wish from October 1 2012 till September 30 2013. Hope this helps. Thanks |
