Ademoore07: Yesterday, i wept and till now i'm still weeping. I bought an infinix hot S (X521) just 2 weeks after it was released in the year 2016 for 52k. This had develop charging point issue for like 3 times now. I had changed the battery once, that was last year november and even the screen last month. Yesterday evening, the phone refused to switch on. I took it to a repairer this morning. I was asked to purchase a new battery. Now i can't find one in the market. Someone just called that i should pay 2.5k for a 3100maH battery. Infact, MAY THUNDER FIRE POVERTY. I'm sad right now. ey sorry. Just sell it and buy a new one na |

Peppermintflav: So I decided to share/write a little review about my BIG BATTERY phone, Oukitel k13 pro. It is precisely a week and 6 days since the phone arrived. I bought it from a guy on jiji, he advertised the phone for 60k. I wasn't in Lagos so I had the phone sent to me. I use Tecno Camon 12, the battery is good but I'm eyeing that Tecno Pova |

Splitmind: They didn't have the same app support as iOS and android so people stopped using them. They were also stuck in the past holding on to the business phone persona and physical keyboard when most business people had moved on to iPhone and Android. it's just evolution. They failed to follow the trend. |

We are now in a generation where almost everyone uses atleast a smartphone.
Gone are the days of regular, buttoned and JAVA phones. We download our stuffs back then from websites like: sefan, wapdam, waptrick, getjar and so on. This awesome platform (Nairaland) also spranged up during this period of regular phones.
Things have changed in this present generation. Everyone uses either Android or iOS device(s). These devices are more durable, efficient and faster than the buttoned phones (symbian, java etc.)
Everyone that has a smartphone uses aleast 3 apps everyday. You can't feel complete and okay without using these 3 apps atleast a day.
Mine is: Gmail, WhatsApp and File Manager.
What are your three (3) most used apps?
Please share them with us. Thanks greatly. mines is WhatsApp, Chrome and Twitter |

Phones › Re: How Do I Enable OTG Feature On My Itel A36 ? by Kunja2: 9:23am On Dec 13, 2020 |
MoneyMusthear: Hi Nairalanders.
I bought this 2020 phone few months ago and the specifications are reasonable for the price. I had a reason to run an external USB drive only to discover that it doesn't support.
I was surprised because the Android version is 9,and my brother's infinix device of 2016 could accept and run an external drive.
I went online, got suggestions to install an OTG checker. The checker suggested that I root my device and tweak the program of the phone in order to enable the feature. I called my geek brother, he said it's a hardware feature and no software operation can enable the feature.
Please what do I do to enable that now? Thanks. are you sure it supports it? |

Phones › Re: Chinese Court Finds Gionee Guilty Of Planting Malware On Mobile Phone by Kunja2: 9:13pm On Dec 12, 2020 |
domack99: The Chinese court has published a verdict on a case involving the Chinese smartphone maker Gionee. It seems that Gionee planted a Trojan Horse on more than 20 million devices to get money from unsolicited ads and other malicious activities without the user's knowledge.
The Shenzhen Zhipu Technology Co. Ltd., which is a subsidiary of Gionee, has implanted a Trojan Horse through a software update using the so-called "Story Lock Screen" app. The first devices infected with the "Dark Horse Program" were in December 2018. The job was carried out until October 2019 and for that period, the company is said to have earned around $4.2 million, affecting 21.75 million smartphones. The expenses for that period are just a little below $1.3 million.
Xu Li, Zhu Ying, Jia Zhengqiang and Pan Qi were found guilty in the process of illegally controlling mobile devices and are sentenced from 3 to 3.5 years in prison along with a CNY 200,000 (~$30,000) fine each.
Although shocking, this seems to be a common practice with cheap Chinese smartphones and other companies were also found guilty of the same malicious activity and Tecno is one of them.
