The food we eat will only aid growth physically, the school we attend will only help us intellectually, the gym we register for can only affect our physique and health. If these things do not help us grow spiritually does that make them bad or sinful ? The answer is no, if some few secular songs can awaken us to societal challenges and we take it upon ourselves to mitigate these challenges with well thought out frameworks and long term solutions; then I see no reason not to listen to more of these songs.

A major stumbling block that has been around for years is Africa’s spiritual approach to physical problems. A child doesn’t know mathematics, we take the child to church for prayers, like really Government is not performing, we pray about it but don’t act on it.
